hello everyone and welcome to
carewith hyrum if you don't know who i am my name is herman i'm passionate about teaching you how to perfect your
careroutine so be sure to subscribe to my channel and hit that notification bell so you can see my videos absolutely. I was going through some of the comments and I noticed that a lot of you guys think I'm saying hello everyone not Aloha everyone Aloha everyone welcome to skincare with Hiram and then I tweet about it and everyone was saying what heck it's the Mandela effect, his own thoughts.
I'm saying hello, hello, how does that make grammatical sense? I mean I'm not the most grammatically correct person so the point is taken but still yeah I Say Aloha I say I live in Hawaii like 50 billion times every video anyway wow Hyrum let's round it up in today's video. I'm going to talk about a question that I've seen in my comment sections and on social media. media if kor ean skincare or usa skincare i called a tick talker. I don't think of myself in that sense. It's so weird. I don't even consider myself a youtuber. I consider myself a human being. people were saying i don't like
koreanskincare and i only like usa skincare because i'm usually promoting common or sarah b and i was like where did you hear that?
Who told you that he lied to you? I love
koreanskincare. but in this video i really want to explain it all and let you know if i think usa or korea skincare is
betterbecause both have pros and cons and considering that on tik-tok i always talk about CeraVe in the ordinary on this channel i constantly talk about drugstore skincar Also this may give you a new perspective that you haven't heard from me before. This video is also partially sponsored by style bono so stay tuned for more on that. Now let me dig a little deeper into korean skin care. all places right Korea can definitely be attributed as one of the birthplaces of modern skin care that we know of today and it's not just skin care that has been an integral part of Korean history and culture. the world has yet to catch up.
I'm talking to you straight guys who still think you don't need to take care of your skin. Yes, even in the US there are a lot of people who don't take care of their skin. because they just don't think it's necessary but in korea it's basically considered the same thing it's like brushing your teeth and taking a shower it's an absolute must to make sure you look good feel good and have hygiene and we can learn something . or two l Let me just say that the US has a scab, and in addition to skin care being a fundamental part of its history and being so embedded in its culture, today's Korea is on the cutting edge of skin care technology. skin like they are miles and miles ahead of us and when I say we from this video I mean USA where I live proud to be an American.
Korea is objectively way ahead of us in terms of innovation and my opinion is about five years ahead of the US. We're seeing it now, for example, about five years ago. korean ten step skin care routine was all the rage a lot of people in korea were buying so many skin care products skin care wasn't that popular here now there are people who are just buying skin care products skincare like crazy and in korea what is most popular right now is actually minimalism for skincare using very few products the simpler the
betterand trying to spread that message but you know we are struggling oh My God, Wow, the US is fighting.
I've never heard of it before and I'm just going to say. right now only boiler i think korean skincare is better than usa skincare i think usa can provide instead so first things first ingredients because the ingredients don't lie why i made a snake movement with my body the quarantines made me feel restless the ingredients are the central focus of my channel you could have a beautiful packaging wonderful product and if the ingredients are not good and i don't want it but You could literally present me with a $3 moisturizer with basic basic packaging, but if the ingredient list is any good, I'll hide that product like it's nobody's business and I feel that Korea best exemplifies the use of powerful and effective ingredients, but also focuses on calming and naturally derived ingredients, something that I think the western world needs to catch up to a bit and th There are a few different ingredients that I want to talk about that They are commonly used in Korean skincare that show just how superior their ingredient formulas are.
First, an ingredient called gotu kola, it's one that I talk about all the time on my channel, also known as pennywort. this is a plant extract that works very well to calm the skin, reduce redness and sensitivity, it has antioxidant benefits and is really good for skin health and one specific product that has this for example is the Nine serum Wishes Calm. wishes because they are all fragrance free and the ingredient list let me explain that the first ingredient is centella asiatica water
whichis water that has usually been infused with i lazy attica scent to get the most benefit from that extract and then the second ingredient is scent She is Attica
whichis amazing let me explain why gotu kola is not really such a cheap ingredient and when it comes to ingredients they don't list from highest concentration to lowest concentration so what's next principle of the ingredient list you are making the most of it in this product and usually when it comes to western serums if they have an ingredient like santelli asiata co or any other. of their good ingredients will be listed at the bottom of the ingredient list or right in the middle they are definitely not high concentrations and they will advertise it all over their packaging saying they have the specific ingredients but actually the concentration of the ingredient is very low to see that the Gotu kola being the second ingredient to me communicates that this is a very, very, very high quality product in addition to all the other beneficial calming ingredients it has, as well as being fragrance free and just a good formula overall and for this product you can find out on a website called style vana who is the sponsor of today's video so thank you very much style vana and thank you for providing me with some of the products that I am talking about in today's video including this one if you don't know what style is vain is a company that takes skin care products from Korea and ships them directly to you in the US or elsewhere. ions all over the world and this is specifically beneficial because many of the products like nine wishes for example are extremely hard to find if not impossible to find in the US or other countries and it sucks that we miss out on some of the balm formulas and because some of these products include new or innovative ingredients that are not yet recognized by the US If many times they can't even be sold in the US even if they want to, and saldaña is a site website where it is I was able to get a ton of different korean skincare products from a ton of different brands and have them shipped right to you.
You know. I have worked with salvano several times in the past. I loved working with them. mostly your Style Vana posts but wanted to update a bit last time i worked with them it was right before kovat when i posted my video kovat was in full effect and many of you were ordering on your website to get products for the skin care now when it comes to getting skin care products from korea sometimes it can take a long time because it's such a long distance and going through customs can be difficult once you started kovetz I mean y'all know this the world just came crashing down shipping was a disaster just for me and my friends to get products from sephora in hawaii. style vana it's been a month what's going on what's going on so i came to sal vana and i was like hey wait we have to figure this out what's going on and they told me because of kovat and because specifically joe is being fir st affected by kovin and because of the multiple shipping points they have but products between shipping temps slowed down a lot which explains the delay but they changed shipping company and even switched to FedEx to ensure faster shipping. possible for you guys and I strongly encourage any of you who have had issues in the past to contact customer service if you are seeing complications so I wanted to make that clarification because I know some of you were upset about the length of the products. they were taking to ship but after speaking to the company it was due to kovat and i personally understand my sephora orders took a month and a half my amazon orders took over a month the world is going a little crazy multiple products from the that i'm talking about in this video can be found on style vana comm so if you want to buy them style vana always has amazing sales.
I love working with style vana because they have so many different options. products from so many different brands, so even if some of them don't align with my personal philosophy, I can choose which ones do without sacrificing any of my standards, they include many of my favorite Korean skincare brands that I've talked about on videos before and they have a lot of great sales happening all the time and you can use this code right here to say 50% off my favorite brands like pure dito I Unique this entry nine wish some by me and others and that code will save you a 10% off all other brands and combined with the sales I can save you a good amount of money so if you want to use it feel free to use it just go stop at accom or the link in the description box to then thank you very much again to salvano for sponsoring this video and thanks to you as always, as I always say in every video, I appreciate your support in being able to be really picky about the brands I deal with.
I work and follow my standards, so thank you, another ingredient that I love is green tea. an extract or leaf extract from Camellia sinensis Green tea is such a high quality ingredient and so hard to find in western skin care and usually when I find it in western skin care products skin, it's so expensive it's crazy. Green tea is an amazing ingredient for so many different purposes it is a great antioxidant it will relieve redness and sensitivity within the skin it is good for maintaining skin health and hydration and also possibly has some anti aging abilities skin healing properties for what is a highly sought after skin care ingredient and an example product is Ascent Read Fresh Green Tea Toner. the ingredient is green tea extract it's not even water it's not green tea water it's not green tea juice or any green tea extract you get the highest concentration of green tea as nts first ingredient in this product and then the water comes in second as well as gingko biloba extracts, a great antioxidant centella asiatica willow bark extract and many others when i see i'm like wow this product definitely cares about you getting the highest concentration of the tea green tea is possible and let me tell you i know this from western brand products claiming to be a green tea toner costing like $200 and green tea is at the bottom of the ingredient list yeah the typical problems with toners is that you are getting such a low concentration of the good ingredients and you're putting mostly water and standard moisturizing ingredients on your face that will dissipate very quickly but this one definitely doesn't and if you don't they've reviewed this post before me.
I'm going to talk about more of their products in my videos because I've been trying a lot lately, they're all fragrance-free, they have great formulas, and you can also find them stylishly in another ingredient, mugwort. or botanical co vulgaris awesome ECR princeps extract I swear every time I say it sounds like a Harry Potter spell Mugwort is a very popular skin care ingredient in Korea and is slowly becoming popular here due to its anti-redness soothing and antioxidant properties talking about many products on my channel that have mugwort as one of my favorite products on my channel which is a mugwort face mask that I am also all the products that I'm talking about on the Today's video will be linked in the description box below if you feel like buying any of these I recommend I make a small commission on some of those links that help support my channel and I would really appreciate it if you'd like to use them but don't worry, you have those links, you have the code whatever you need. if you want to treat yourself but without any pressure andalthough this one can be a little expensive i found a substitute that is a little less expensive without fragrance the kingdom awkwa rd clay mask by essen tree clay masks are great for getting rid of all the impurities within your pores this one specifically has kaolin and clay of bentonite as well as glycerin to make up for any loss of hydration but the sixth ingredient is my guar extract after the clay mugwort is in there which again Mugler is a really high quality and expensive ingredient and then a lot of products which are at the bottom of the ingredient list so when i see a high i am always impressed and since i have recommended this before and some of you are like oh my gosh that is a bit expensive.
I don't know if I understand why this is such a great alternative that has an incredible concentration of mugwort and then in other products I feel that Korean skin care exemplifies so much innovation and use of plant and root extracts, for example the serum of nine wishes blister when I first looked at this list of ingredients. I thought, come again, what does all this mean? The second ingredient is ski a dope itis virtus celada extract. Y'all know what that means because I didn't, but it's actually, stone pine extract which is a great antioxidant, it also has puja orientalist leaf extract, another ingredient I didn't know about, but it just happens to be antimicrobial and good for balancing the oiliness within the skin, it also has polygonal canine, a fool root extract, which is a great antioxidant and bioavailable form of resveratrol, so it's great for reducing irritation and possibly slowing down aging like all these ingredients I'm told what are these things i have never heard of them this is the type of innovation i want to see i want to see products that use innovative new ingredients that do not irritate or damage your skin too much, but rather serve the health and benefit of your skin and skin Queen skincare just found this out, not to mention they have so many fragrance-free options. i like the products i talked about but just from a concentration point of view oh i was very impressed with something else that is a balm over korean skin care is the price in usa skin the care is still considered a luxury expense, as many skin care products are so expensive that Sephora is pretty much normalized as a skin care resource for youth, but some of the products that cost more than $ 100 are like most Koreans. skin care products i have found are good for ten to $25 right in the middle of that range like take for example i only seem the one on here some of the best serums i have found in my life that i constantly talk about these are $20 each but they have such high quality formulas, high quality bottles, they look fancy and there is still a really affordable price point and I love that because I never want people to get frustrated about getting a good formula for the skin care simply because of the amount of money they make. you know believe me another reason korean skincare is this is because of their sunscreen technology if you've seen any of my sunscreen videos you know i constantly tell you to buy korean sunscreens because i used to Being the person who just hated experiences with sunscreens, it was always like homework from skincare routine, I thought because they always felt so heavy and sticky, but once I started using them korean sunscreens, i went crazy like i won. keep telling me about these two poto sunscreens and the darling clara sunscreen i will have them linked below amazing formulas and if you are a person of color i recommend you try some korean sunscreens because the experience is just 180 there is no no shade of white oh they are way ahead of us in that category and it is because the UV filters they use in Korea which are much more innovative less sensitizing overall to the skin and better for the planet have not yet been approved by the US government because we're so slow when it comes to any kind of skin care legislation that doesn't buy Korean skin care we can take advantage of that and then I get to the downside of Korea In skin care skin main main shipping no fun not only having to buy korean skin care products online but also waiting for a long time sometimes a good a lot of time because it comes from Korea definitely the downside is it's nice to be able to go to Sephora or another type of store and try the consistencies, how they feel, get samples of all that jazz and unfortunately that's not an option when you it deals with a lot of korean skin care products, but we are looking.
The plus side is that most cosmetic stores are closed or don't even allow you to sample or test the product beforehand for bacterial purposes, so basically the same thing, aside from accessibility, Korean skincare doesn't it is available in many other countries. unlike many US skincare brands like L'Oreal Estee Lauder, companies owned by etc. we are lucky if we can get some of these in the US I see you are looking at it even if you don't have access to many of the products which I recommend. I just want to say that I appreciate you all because I know you're out there, but yeah, those are the two main downsides to Korean.
Unfortunately, skincare is something that a lot of people are breaking points for, so if you're very clear, I personally find most Korean skincare products better than what we have in the US. USA Yes, I love some of the products we have here. Ordinary CeraVe used to be with people etc but from a general point of view Korean skincare is truly superior and when I find myself going back to it again and again and again my personal skincare routine I always had at least one Korean skincare product and I'm usually hesitant to recommend many of them on my channel just because they're not as accessible to a lot of you, but I want to start including them more and more just because I'm in love.
What can I say? What do you think? of some o If the points I make agree with me, do you disagree with me? Do you think there are better formulas? Do you think I'm totally wrong? Please let me know below, and as always, if you have any recommendations for Korean skincare products. please send them my way because i will accept them thank you so much like ivana again for sponsoring this video and if you want feel free to use my code to save 15% on some of the brands i mentioned in today's video and if you already have , make sure you subscribe to my channel and hit the notification bell so you can see my videos every week and I'll see you in the next one.
