Ken Block’s ULTIMATE Snowcat for Backcountry: Can-Am Maverick (On Tracks!) Pre-flight Walkaround

backcountry

snowboarding and I brought a very cool toy special to play there, which is this one, I can't name x3 with its

tracks

by Apache, the British singers, it's a lot faster than the typical catch, so this episode is about this can-am, so I'll give it to you. All the details of how you can build it yourself to do the exact same thing or just get out in the

backcountry

and have fun without snowboarding, so let's experiment with it here to see how quickly we can laugh.

So we have a couple of snowboarders with us, like Backstrom and Justin Peroneus, and we're going to go there and go through the backcountry and do it in a very fun and fast way, so let's look at this so it can have a very long duration. name, it is a can-am x3

maverick

max max, the part being XR s turbo RR four-door with Apache LT history. Check it out, there's a lot going on, but it's super cool, so the engine in this thing is a 900 three-cylinder. Turbocharged DC engine making around 195 horsepower and that's before the tuned Evo, we'll get to that later, the main thing we really want to talk about now is the

tracks

, the tracks are the important thing for what we're about point to do. do in the snow and it is a very special kit that can am is built on the slope itself, most of the technology comes from ski-doo, so ski-doo is a sister brand of can-am, so they took ski-doo technology and made one.

One of the most exclusive backcountry trail kits in the world, so there is no other backcountry kit like this from other manufacturers. This is unique specifically to Can-Am. Ground clearance is so important it's like we're going to drive this through deep snow. So you want the most ground clearance possible, this kit actually adds six and a half inches of ground clearance from about 16 inches of ground clearance to 22, so that's really important to be able to drive this through. all types of snow conditions, obviously. There is a limit where you can eventually hit the chassis if you go too deep, which I will try.

This really gives you a lot more room for a lot of different types of varying snow conditions, so the tracks themselves, if you look at the back, are bigger than the front, but there's a lot of contact patch with two inch paddles, so like I said, ski-doo track technology applied to a Can Am with a lot of grip surface literally has a lot of traction. I try to slide this thing. around and it doesn't slide, there is such a large contact patch that it is literally like driving a snowmobile at a time. It's really amazing what they've built here not only with the ground clearance but the huge contact patch was very aggressive paddles so just to clarify. because this is a unique product built with snowmobile technology, these are for winter use only, there are other systems like the one I have on the Raptor tracks that I have driven in mud, I have driven in sand and obviously in snow, These rails have to be snow lubricated, so they are winter specific, but that's what makes them so good in the snow.

Moving towards the back of this vehicle you can see a lot of really cool parts. S3 Power Sports has put a lot of very nice parts into this, including these built aluminum radial rods and many other very, very nice performance parts that we will list here. There are also very nice shock absorbers that you can see here. We have included a winch on the front and rear. of this unit because I will most likely get stuck somewhere at some point, so it is used to help get us out of a bad place. There is a very nice bag back here that is km long.

It's actually built by ojio, but it's available through can- so there's a lot of nice storage space in and around the scene. It's very important when you're in the field, you need everything from tools to food and water, because things happen in the field and they'll be in the middle of nowhere. I have a special tool kit right here, which is the Savage UTV Belt Changing Tool Kits, so it has everything we need, a belt, all the tools, everything so we can quickly change that belt and of course , you can see back here. board racks, so there are two on each side, so we can easily carry four, but we can also carry more boards and gear on the roof.

Well, up here you can see once again another S3 bumper with some nice rigid lights. We've got a full glass windshield with wipers and fluid and you've got the adventurer rack here on top with a very nice big hardtail light bar, the Can-am extended flares and if you get in and you start to see some of the kit Lipper storage on the roof, so there is a full stereo system, MTX audio system, there is also a heating system inside the cabin, here it is called ice crusher cabin heater, it's my style, up here , another thing I just noticed, here's a really nice button that says launch Hi, that's a full Evo tune with launch control and there's a full Evo exhaust on this thing, so with the glass windshield there are the windows too smooth with zipper openings, it's a really nice setup, these slopes generate a lot of snow so having the cockpit fully enclosed is very important, so we made a nice little graphic kit for Jeff here at Bald-Faced, we have his logo here On the side, the red matches the way many other cats look at Baldfaced. of course can-am and the Finnegan logo so I'm really excited about the look of this thing.
