justin bieber subjected us to "yummy" all for a bad album

Feb 27, 2020
Scott. Right off the bat, the highlight, the highlight, for me about the song was when Justin Bieber adopts this rap flow. (singing). (singing). Why does it sound like City Girls? (singing). Oh, wait, wait, wait, I can't play that in this video. However, I will say that the instrumental of this song is really good. I honestly feel like this is what they were trying to do in the last song. It has that lo-fi dead battery and slightly muffled sound. It's really nice. Listen to it. Super satisfying. However, Travis Scott shows up, you know, of course, we have him (singing). (singing).

It's as if he had called him on the phone so reluctantly that his improvisations were more emotional than his actual verses. His verses were very vague and brief. It was really obvious that his name was there to make the song weirder. Also, Justin says "Ooh wee" like twice during the song. And   when I told you that I laughed. (singing). As if you couldn't. You have to do it all the way or not at all. He tried to do it half-heartedly and sounded like a clown. Also, why does Justin Bieber do improvisations? It seems like he was trying to sound like Travis.

More Interesting Facts About,

justin bieber subjected us to yummy all for a bad album...

Just make Travis say, “Ooh, wee.” He is literally the king of improvisations. He would have sounded good and not ridiculous. So I guess it's fitting that with all that slapstick, there's circus music at the end because they change one of the main instruments. Yes, that's what you deserve. Or maybe it's what I deserve for giving this

album

so much attention. (singing). Get me Kehlani. I honestly don't have much to say about the song because I love it. I think it's a really great song. Definitely the highlight. I must say that Kehlani and Justin Bieber harmonize very well.

Listen to this. (singing). (singing). That's incredibly nice. The chorus is horrible though. (singing). Ha ha ha? Did you say ha, ha, ha as a lyric? Bring back that clown music. (singing). ETA Not bad, but why does it sound like an Ed Sheeran song? Obviously, sounding like a rejection of Ed Sheeran isn't necessarily bad because Ed Sheeran is talented at both songwriting and singing, but no, this just sounds like a rejection of Ed Sheeran. It sounds like a rejection from Ed Sheeran and I can understand why he rejected it. Know? (singing). He even sings like Ed. I guess the E in E.T.A.

Apparently it means Ed. Also, the guitar is loud and I don't know why. And not only did I listen to it through these Bluetooth headphones, I like to listen to it through Sennheiser wired headphones, and I can confirm that the guitar sounds strangely loud. There is this... (singing).. Brother. Oh. However, Justin makes some really strong notes at the end that I thought sounded really good. (singing). That was really good. That was good. However, Ed Sheeran has entered the chat. (singing). Alright,   next up is the title track, Changes. First of all, the chorus doesn't make any sense.
He says, "I'm going through changes. I'm going through changes. However, I'm going through changes." (singing). That? Yes he does. You just said that you were going through... What do you mean it doesn't mean that you have...? I did mental gymnastics to try to make sense of this, but then it hit me. That's not my job. Justin Bieber, you gotta make sense of it. No matter how I interpreted it, it was stupid. Also, he does this la di da di da towards the end and that's just boring and unnecessary. La di da di da. Why are there so many voices?
Any man. Title song, not at all the strongest song on this

album

. Next. Alright. We have the song Confirmation. Now, the song actually starts off really well because he starts singing. (singing). But then he says, "Wait. One more time." Then they stopped the music and you can hear the reverberation decrease. (singing). That was cool. That was cool. I mean, it was probably fake, but to my ears it sounded like a real organic interaction in the studio. It was pretty neat. Also, in the second half of this song, there's a beautiful synth that they bring in. That sounds heavenly.
Listen to this. (singing). Doesn't that sound like something you'd find in a Deadmau5 song? Plus, we finally have some inspiring lyrics in this song. Like, finally, heavens. This was like the first time, besides the title song, that he sang something and I felt like he meant what he sang. He says, "All you really want, all you really need is to be home." (singing). He sounded like he was singing from the heart of him. But the strange thing was that he felt out of place. That makes me sad. All the jokes, memes, and JB hate aside, I'm legitimately sad that his sincerity and authenticity in the song was what was left out because of how polished, fake, and confident the rest of the album is. . was.
What should have been a highlight felt like a reinforcement of how bad this album is. (singing). Alright, next we have the song That's What Love Is. Now listen, the chord progression of this song makes me anxious. And I know, like I say, a lot of things, like, "Oh, that literally gave me anxiety." No no no no no. For example, when I heard the chord change, my fight or flight response was activated. Hear. (singing). Why does it go up? It's like... It almost sounds like something out of a horror movie. And then the random guitar plugs jump out like they're giving a scare. (singing).
The guitar sounded very discordant. It was strange, honestly. Also, there's a single guitar lick at the end that pissed me off for no reason. (singing). Because? (singing). Alright, last but not least we have the song At Least For Now. And, ooh, the best song on the album. Without a doubt, end of the story. Pack it up and go home. This is the best song on the album. Right off the bat, I knew I was going to love it because the music is a little folkloric and there's something exciting about it... It's cinematic. It sounds like something that would be in a movie.
Like, listen. It's incredibly beautiful, honestly. Also, Justin Bieber, this is part of the ending where he gets a little serious and has a bit of a, dare I say, accent. (singing). That sounded good. Then towards the end he almost yodels. It's not a complete song, but it almost sings. (singing). Honestly, it was a lot of fun and it sounded good. Truly the best song on the album. It sounds more mature. I like the lyric. This instrumental fits very well with his singing style. It's almost like it could have been a new direction. I could have done the whole album this way.
Then listen to the instrumental at the end, how it produces acoustic, almost organic, electronic sounds. Really, that's something I don't listen to all the time and it could have been the rest of the album, but I'll take what I can get. I'll stick with this song. It's on my playlist. I'll be listening to it. A lot. (singing). Oh yeah, I forgot. That wasn't the last song. Technically, the last song is this Yummy remix featuring Summer Walker. Honestly, it's boring and totally unnecessary. Summer Walker's voice is weird and sounds weird, electronic. I literally don't care. The only part they really remixed was that part in the middle where Summer appears for the first time and they change the music. (singing).
But then she stops... (singing). ...and goes straight back to the original music. (singing). It's like, what was the point? But here's the thing, like the last sound on the album, they actually change the entire instrumental at the end of the song and it sounds much more soulful and pretty. It's magnificent, but you released it at the end because you were too weak to experiment. And honestly, I feel like it's almost symbolic. Throughout this album they just had really good ideas, but they prioritized safety over them so that none of them came to fruition. Alright, so my final thoughts on the album.
I didn't enjoy listening to it, for the most part. First of all, the vocational refrains, like the wordless choruses, were too much. There was too much, “Delicious, yum.” “Oh, wait, wait,” ha ha ha, “la da da.” Because? Justin Bieber's vocal performance, however, for me was the highlight of the entire album because he sounded flawless the entire time. And he had moments where he really shined with some interesting things we'd never heard from him before. With the exception of Kehlani, who seemed to be really interested in the topic, all the features on this album were useless. Clearly, they were simply there because people needed to get paid and streams needed to be generated.
The desperate lyrics were really starting to get to me. I mean, in one of the songs he literally says something like "Run me over with your love." Then, of course, there are the punching bag lyrics. Then there's his full breakdown of that song, Available. Honestly, that's just the version, or rather vision, of love presented on this album and it's not fun to listen to. I get it, it's definitely like a love element, but I feel like you should at least get to that at some point, right? The whole album was repetitive. Everything was repetitive. The rhythms were repetitive, even their lyrics were repetitive.
A couple of songs almost had the same lyrics. It was just, ugh! I feel like this 17 track album could have easily been cut down to 11, 10. The other thing that was strange was that Justin Bieber affected this dialect for this album. He says things like, "You've got me on edge. I'm going through changes. No, I haven't changed. You'll fool him. I heard you arrived before I saw you." Because? Is it because it's an R&B album? Well, don't let me think too much about that before coming to a conclusion. It was completely unnecessary, how about that? A lot of the lyrics were just gross because they were so adult, but Justin didn't really sing them.
He is simply saying them. He seemed very distant. He names something less attractive than someone who is completely disconnected from what he tells you. However, the production on this album was really good. I know I said the songs were boring and repetitive, but that doesn't mean they were bad. A lot of the instrumental pieces were really great, just as concepts, not as full songs. But as I pointed out, some of these moments really shined, so I almost feel like this album was more of a victory for Pooh Bear, their producer, than for Justin. In conclusion, Justin Bieber, you get a C   minus.
You pass with this album. Congratulations. You didn't fail. I mean, none of the songs have poor vocals. None of them have bad beats per se. But you didn't try. Or more specifically, you tried, but you didn't let yourself try. You know, for an album called Changes, Justin Bieber and his production team seem totally reluctant to commit to any kind of change from his pre-established style, very sad for him. But honestly, I can feel whatever I want about the album. He probably made several million dollars on opening day alone, so honestly, who cares?
