kate's decision kate came to you said honey i have an idea or timlin called us how do they start she called me at work and said they want to film a one hour documentary on discovery health and then the reality show went live she called me a fellow marketer they want to film a reality show so i said well if its going to pay the bills let's see how it goes and then we'll go from there and we're still at Discovery Health, we're not on TLC yet, so our first season was eight episodes, our second season was twelve, our third season was 40 episodes sodiums, ooh, and then our fourth season was 52 episodes. i give you some numbers on this i had sought the height of their reality show Jon and Kate Plus 8 was pulling in 10 million viewers a week for comparison most of the big Network prime time sitcoms today are not reaching those numbers i'm interested in some of the comforts that happen enened because of the show i understand its success but we're blurry lines it was kinda its hard to say where the family ended and the show started the show oh absolutely i mean i remember once february i would say february 2008 we filmed every day except two there were two points where he was pushing the camera crew out of our house and then the network went down and he said he had to film and I would say no so I was always the one heavy and then Kate would say you're going to get us fired oh man I don't care if we get fired like this it's ridiculous this is not my job this is not my career this is my life c As if I didn't need cameras. my house all the time and you know it was being commercialized a lot where we said oh for example I want to wear pampers but we want you to wear huggies because of the advertising you know when you know and all that kind of stuff and I like well I want use what is best for my child, not what is best for the network. so the little things started having an effect and marketing and branding and marketing and all these things that also started driving wedges into our marriage because she said no we have to do what they say and I say no I'm doing the best. for our son, you start living two different lives, you think your marriage would have stayed intact if it hadn't been for the cameras, you know, a lot of people ask me that and it's hard to live in a hypothetical but I think eventually because of personality, it becomes it would have fizzled out anyway because first of all i got married at 22 and you just don't know what you know and you mentioned before you repeated it now that there was a personality problem what's the personality problem whose personality is it? it means she was a Kate what's the problem well I think we are both but I think she has a narcissistic narcissistic personality disorder yes I think she tends to think more about her level of selfishness than others I think A Sometimes I tend to think more for others than myself, so I tend not to worry about what's happening to me when it should, but I also think I tend to look more towards my children and what's best for them once I get them.

It was no longer part of the business model. She was going to divorce you because of the filming. That's right. Not because of her passive aggression or not helping with the kids. or not i stayed home she was on speaking tours so i would travel with her bodyguard she would go on speaking tours i was home with the nanny and babysit and do all the kid stuff. babysitter at that point w I had the same babysitter for three years.

She thought I was having an affair after we broke up in 2009. I wish I wasn't. You weren't having an affair now until you got divorced. You had an affair with someone. you, she wants the separation, what did you say, I was also like out of nowhere because I was sitting at the dining room table and I was like what are you talking about? you know you don't want to film this you don't want to follow my plan and film the children and this and the house and I say no, I don't want to and you know it's funny, thought the network I was crazy, in fact they hired me a therapist and a psychiatrist and they evaluated me psychologically, why him, why did they think you were crazy?, because I would give millions of dollars not to film and live a normal life. and then I didn't understand why they kept doing this and then I found out they were w We made them $186 million a quarter when you're putting out $186 million a quarter for a company that you can't just quit so the CEO has to explain to your shareholders to the president why the stock went down because I took the show off the air I literally hung a sign on my eight saying if any crew member shows up huh they will be arrested for trespassing they will sue me for breach of contract I practically went bankrupt, but i did it for moral reasons obviously i spent 1.7 million in lawyers fees from when TLC sued me and my divorce Kaede on the other hand TLC paid for her lawyers in the lawsuit and her divorce so i financed it myself myself and she was network funded and i didn't understand why at first but now i understand why all she wanted was legal custody for him Lent my kids to keep up their lifestyle and their lifestyle sees everything get distorted that's fame those he just twists things thinking you have to keep everything right so we went outside the TLC for a statement and we weren't they responded in time to record when we got back John directly addresses the abuse allegations between Kate and her son Collin, who she says has special needs, including a look at the so-called escape letter her son wrote that we're back with Jon Gosselin, who rose to fame on the reality show with his family john and kate plus 8 so he has made some very serious allegations about kate specifically in regards to his son collin no this is important i want to talk about collin because it's kind of an example of the company: do you think Kate is an unfit mother? well i think her belief system is skewed thats what i think i think her intentions at first were good intentions to bring children into the world that she fought to have these children but i think once fame and fame money got involved, they twisted their belief system on my part. pists has been in institutions this is Collin this is the diagnosis he has five different diagnoses he takes medication he goes to the therapist he goes to the traumatologist he goes to all these doctors and psychiatrists and television diagnoses verified by professionals with more than 20 years of experience you know and you know, I mean how can I argue that what is the diagnosis that he has been given that is forcing him to be in institutions against also he is 12 years old so Kate institutionalized him without a diagnosis and then created a diagnosis?

It took me two and a half years to find it and then it took me another year to get it out John how come you didn't know where your son is? You have custody of these. I had physical custody and not legal custody at the time and the only way I found out I knew she was Collin is that Collin wrote a letter and her roommate smuggled it out.

His roommate called my manager. My manager checked out the roommate because you never know. could be anyone and that's how i found out where collin was i can assure y'all the letter yes i put it up for y'all to see i'm only going to raise a couple parts but this is his hen written in crayons there's a picture so called getaway letter says i'm not trying to cheat on you but i still love you i told mom i want to live with you but she said no and then two sentences down it says he abused me after i left you home i'm sorry story with you to get me out of here it's painful to read that from a twelve year old you know how you felt when you saw that crayon written letter of despair it was it was harper again and i was actually at the airport in mexico when it was sent to me and i felt like we need to figure this out so once i got a joint legal settlement i submitted a letter to the judge obviously he was like this he's crazy we asked kate where he is she wouldn't tell him i said i don't need to know that I have the letter now a and i called the special needs center they said mr. gostin will do whatever you want you can be fully in it i got my car i drove it the first time i saw him in three years how was that look oh man i cried he was different cause i was strung out like Thorazine and all these meds like all high the way you would like his pictures now he was 75lbs heavier than what you see now because he was calm most of the time and how he is now good trained student he is in JROTC ok they may have gone through the EastHe used Thorazine and again I say this according to you because I can't, I can't validate this to live at normal home with his love, now we create a family environment for him.
