Jet Powered Go Kart

Jun 06, 2021
After being stuck inside for so long during this whole quarantine situation, a 20-pound turkey neck goes up two pan sizes and I go crazy because all I've been doing is motor episodes. I'm starting to feel like some kind of engine, it's time to part ways. go out and have some fun and do something else besides engines engines engines engines and I've got just what's on my mind ever since I smelled that sweet smell of diesel fuel it reminded me of jet fuel so I decided to kick the diesel engine out of gear -

kart

and mounted the jet engine instead and a few things came together at the same time to motivate this build.

The first was that I got my hands on this little action camera and I want to try it out and see if I can get it. Some great shots, this is the insta360 go 2 and it's the smallest quad hd camera I've ever seen so I can't wait to put this into action. The second is that my five gallons of hydrojet appeared, which is 80 jet fuel 20. water I want to see how it burns in the jet engine the third is that I want Tommy to drive the

with the jet engine so we can see what that says top speed is going up top speed is up top speed is going up there i think it was pretty much the same i didn't feel much of a difference oh tommy, you stink, no, you don't really stink, you painted the gas tank black, oh that's fantastic, I forgot to buy the new gas tank and it's there, it's like finding treasure. let me start building, oh look where it landed okay, I think this is going to feel a little strange now that we don't have a chain bouncing all over the place, I know exactly how I'm going to set this jet engine mounted acetone on fire, right?

More Interesting Facts About,

jet powered go kart...

OK? I have everything set up and this is not my ideal setup here with this controller, but like the actual components that I need to set it up the way I want haven't arrived and I'm just running out of time with this. project, I resorted to configuring this controller this way there is the battery, there is our ecu, our receiver, our telemetry, right there, our gps with our speed battery and last but not least the jet engine everything set up, nice and quiet, okay, let me get this. unloaded and I have to say this is the lightest kart it should weigh, I don't know, 40 pounds in the back 40 45 pounds this thing is so light that I feel like I should have tipped the back ones to do some kind of drifting Sherlock said that You don't think this is going to work, but I have to tell you, it has no rolling resistance.

Look at this man. Does this look fun? This is one of the first times I've seen this go-kart and I'm really getting excited and it's mainly due to the quietness and lack of rolling resistance. I just arrived at my driving location. This is the same place where I filmed the turbo diesel go-kart. kart, unfortunately Tommy couldn't make it so I'm here alone, I'm not expecting any crazy cinematography or anything like that but I have my insta 360 go 2 that I'm going to use to capture all the action. The shots I'm going to mount this on my helmet or my hat capture all the action inside the go-kart.

I only need about two pounds of force to physically move this go-kart as it is now, it's very light. It's amazing, this turbine produces about 70 pounds of thrust which excites me and last but not least I have my GPS glued to the steering wheel which will give me my speed and distance, that's all I need , so let me fulfill this wish. I'm lucky, let's see how it goes, so I don't even know if I have to mess around with different fuels. I think I could put in the hydrojet. Yes, I will use the hydrojet. I think it's about two gallons.
We should spend a couple of minutes on that. I'm going to mount the accessory directly to my helmet. There's like a little hat clip that goes directly to the top of a hat or helmet like this, which I thought was cool. such a cool little clip and i forgot about it because i was in such a hurry to get out of there ready to rock and roll power for the receiver and the ecu you can see that heartbeat just turned on the remote okay there's the power for the engine  and again this will be my throttle   it says it's ready so let's see how it sounds here in the open air   turn the ignition down and I think I'm going to stand in front of this here comes the fuel oh actually I should I've tested the pump.
I forgot to test the pump. I have air in there when this starts. It has a lot of air in the line. Here is the hydrojet. Good. I have my helmet on. Put it on my helmet. Alright? It looks like the actual air from my fuel sloshing got in my line and I'm almost running out of fuel believe it or not let me try to start this bad boy again man that was pretty crazy and it was really weird because because uh , let me turn on the cool down mode, it was very strange because it's very strange, so I crashed into the sidewalk a little bit because I saw this thing.
I wasn't sure if it was water and mud or what, but it feels weird just because when you hit the brake, it's like it's a hundred percent broken, there's no chain drive or anything else, that's what it was, but man, this thing, The top speed must be crazy. I'll have to come in a future video and see what's the top speed of this thing? This thing is crazy. Wow, that thing got my adrenaline pumping. Let's try to start again. It's definitely nice and quiet with the helmet on. That is sure. I'm glad I have this camera here. this thing is pretty awesome gotta hook it up to the case right now oh man the possibilities for this thing oh man it's going to be crazy here we're good to go oh yeah we've got air in the lines here we go I'm almost out of gas that's the problem , here we go, it feels weird.
Wow, that's a light slide Woo Hoo, that was crazier than I thought. It was so smooth the first time I hit the curb, I only damaged the edge a little because that was the first curve. I hit the brake, it's the strangest thing because there's no similar push from any mechanics connected, it was like I had three times the amount of braking for the amount of pressure, if that makes any sense, and I swerved and hit the curb and Thank God I didn't damage it because I was able to finish the race. That's all the hydro jetting I had.
It is fun. The maximum speed of that thing. The camera died. What else died? Something else died. I think this little camera worked quite well. Well, I'll leave a link in the description below. This is the first day that this camera is on the market. I was able to get my hands on it a little early and thought it would be a good pair for the jet. motorized kart, but I will definitely come back with this kart. Sherlock said that thing is not going to move and he got into my head because I was like, well, I don't know, 70 80 pounds of thrust and as soon as I put the jet engine together and saw that it didn't have any rolling resistance , I was convinced this was going to be quick, so thanks for watching, tell me what you think in the comments below, don't forget to check back.
Pull out this little action camera, the Insta360 Go 2, so you can see the footage looks amazing and that's why I included it. I literally saw the footage and said I have to show this camera to everyone. She's amazing, you'll see her in some upcoming episodes. I'm going to do some cool things with it, thanks for watching, see you next time, bye, because this is the real camera, look at this, oh, oh, it drives me crazy that it was like the remote control for that, no, no , it is the real quad hd camera.
