James Charles EXPOSES his brand...(do we need this??)Apr 27, 2023
It's the day we've all been waiting for James Charles to officially reveal his
brandthat's been in the works for years and honestly I'm more confused than ever it's a mess so let's go inside James has been kidding his makeup line ever since years ago, but every time the expiration date has come and gone and never happened, I really thought James would have seen his mark during his prime days as an influencer, but he definitely took a similar path as Jacqueline and decided to team up. with morphe i'm sure
jameshad huge success with his morphe palette and probably doesn't regret that decision at all but if he hadn't launched a
brandduring that time he would have made millions and
jamesknows someone on instagram asked he if he wished he had launched his brand sooner and he honestly said yes and no if he launched
thismakeup line in 2018 he would probably be a billionaire by now and i'm not going to pretend that doesn't make me sad on the other hand at the time he didn't have a solid idea for the brand he wanted to have.
Years later, even though the industry is not as popular as it used to be, I took my time and am very proud of it now. the brand identity packaging and the products i have been able to create and that means more to me than money a lot of people still felt it was too late and wasted time if James wants to have a successful brand he
needs to do something new and interesting and that's hard to do when it comes to beauty, it's all been done and redone and then redone so the pressure was definitely on James.
The whole process James was sharing lab samples of different products and then taking the feedback he was getting sending it back to the lab and showing us the updated formula. He wanted to take you behind the scenes and show you the lab samples I've been working on. and get his thoughts and feedback in real time so his feedback can affect the final product so do we want more duets? do we want cheaper singles? do we want a palette? A lot of people said that
thiswas a really cool marketing tactic. James was making his fans feel like they had a role to play in the development of these products, so they will feel some kind of obligation to buy them.
The other factor James had working against him. There has been a decline in sales of cosmetics since cobit happened. Cosmetic sales have been at an all time low. Many brands like morphe were going out of business. Influential brands like item Beauty were being phased out by Sephora. It didn't seem like the best time to be launching a brand, but it could be possible that James has put this launch off for so long now that things have started to change. The beauty community on Tick Tock has really taken off lately and people are finding their passion for makeup again.
I think James actually recognizes that and that's why he put out a casting call for his brand on Tick Tock and not on YouTube where he actually grew his platform. I want to take 10 of you to LA to be in the first campaign. of my new makeup brand and At this point, we had no idea what James would be launching his brand with. He was kidding about these blushes, but he said they were for a long time in the future. He ended up doing a live broadcast and said that the product he was launching under his brand was actually 'It's the easiest product to use.
I am very excited because the first product that we are launching. I'm not going to tell you exactly what it is, but I'll give you a little hint and tell you what it's not exactly. the most consumer friendly product I think if it were on the shelves of an Ulta or a Target or a Sephora people might just walk past it and say oh that's too hard for me but the reality is when you guys really see the product and see how it can be used and see all the ways it can be used. I think it will be a lot less intimidating than it actually looks and it's definitely not a product that you
needto be a pro to use well.
The day finally came and James announced the first product from him. He took Instagram and Rel less than three hours to the biggest announcement of my career. Feeling extremely nervous but also so ready for any final guesses. A few hours later, he finally dropped the sneak peek and captioned it. painted summer 2023 four years of hard work later my own makeup brand is finally coming I'm so excited to share these products with you, but for now here's a sneak peek of what's to come I feel like I have more questions than ever like it's all his brand called Paint did or is painted with just the name of the product he's dating.
I'm thinking the whole brand could actually be called graffiti and looking back, James was actually dropping some hints last month, he went to a Vanity Fair event. and he used this and at that point i was like um what's going on here? It seemed like a variable choice for the event and he captioned the picture painted for Vanity Fair thanks for having me and though James never tells us what his first product was and it keeps us wondering. I think we can put two and two together. It's in what's supposed to be his old apartment. He is painting.
The model has face paint. I think it's safe to assume that he'll be coming out with some sort of face paint. James has liked a lot of comments from people guessing face paint some of them say eyeshadow foundations and face paint oh my god you come up with face paint stick color foundations thats what you painted by james
charles, it's such a cool mark. I can't wait to try everything and he even responded to 1 comment that said imagine if the packaging looks like little tubes of paint and James said yes and I'll say yes I think it's definitely a creative idea it's not like all makeup brands .
He has face paint, but I wonder how well he'll do. I'm sure makeup artists who work on stage or people who really like Artistry will love it, but James is right, it's not the easiest product to use if that's the way James wants to take his brand and focus more. on the artistic side of makeup, then this release definitely makes a lot of sense. I feel like that's James' kind of thing, he's always posting these really creative artistic makeup looks, so maybe that's the direction he wants to go in so far, the reaction has been pretty positive.
I couldn't find a negative comment in the announcement about him, but there are a lot of pretty interesting comments in the Trending mode. Trending Mood posted the ad for him and here's what people said he could have done. I kept this in the drafts because no one asked for it. I can't believe you still have a hard platform to pass, no, sorry, and someone else pointed out something quite interesting. Painted by Spencer Wrong brand unfortunately and that could definitely be a problem Spencer has a really huge rig and now whenever someone searches Painted by him they will most likely show up Painted by James Charles.
I haven't seen Spencer say anything about it yet, so who? You know if you're really going to have a problem with that, but if that were me, I'd definitely be concerned about possible brand confusion, but it looks like we'll have to wait until summer to see what James has in store with his brand, so I'll definitely look at it. will. gotta see how it all goes anyway guys let me know what you guys think about everything below and i'll see you next time foreign foreign foreign
