iPhone X User Experience is a NIGHTMARE!

Feb 27, 2020
A couple of months and a million views ago I made a very controversial video criticizing the iPhone 10 and Apple's decision to ditch the home button in favor of a gesture-based

interface. Now I don't blame the gestures being bad. which I felt like Apple hadn't implemented them very well a lot of people said idiot you've never seen the phone how can you give a good review now that I've seen the phone and had one for two weeks and it's a good phone, atrocious price aside but While things are mostly good, I still think several things about the phone and about the iPhone 10's UI are completely stupid, so let's talk about it, the knot, oh the knot, okay, so in portrait mode like many people.

I mentioned it's really no big deal, it's not pretty sure, but the notch isn't annoying because it exists, the notch is annoying because it's used so poorly instead of a nice long status bar like literally all phones did they ever reach true depth. The camera system steals about half of the usable slots from the status bars. You only have these two little ears to block each icon and there's not enough space, so you have to go into the stupidly inconvenient Control Center and I'll get to that. It's an ordeal in a minute to see the old familiar status bar with icons like don't shake Lawrence UPN rotation lock, it's a big deal, this is annoying for a couple of reasons, number one for example if I have No enabled bother, I have no idea unless I go into Control Center, bad design, secondly, these things that are actually in those little status bars are useless, a cell phone signal, a battery icon with no percentage, really Apple, really.

More Interesting Facts About,

I wonder a lot more often if my phone is on Do Not Disturb mode or if I already set an alarm, then I'm thinking about how many damn bars of cell service I just lost the last time you don't have service, get rid of that crap, get it out of there or At the very least, like with the control center, give us

user

s the ability to customize what appears in that small limited space. If you're going to make it half the size of any other phone on the market, then control center. I don't know about you, but I use Control Center all the time and I noticed how much as I used it once I couldn't access it without moving my entire hand across the phone to get to the top right corner of the screen. screen and enable it, not only is it difficult to access but it looks stupid because even though Center and Notification Center used the same action by swiping down from the top, they have different animations and layout styles, which is completely strange, they don't even look like the same OS, but design aside, Apple knows this is an idiotic location because in the new iOS 11. point 2 beta they added a permanent tab that was previously only there for a few minutes to remind you to download from there to activate the control center.

It's weird now some have said Oh Quinn, stop being dramatic, just enable the range ability, yeah. Previous iPhones introduced this feature where if you double-tap the Touch ID sensor you could bring the screen closer to your thumb, it was useful, but on the iPhone 10 it's this awkward, inconsistent gesture where you have to swipe down about half an inch from the bottom of the phone if you swipe too far down it doesn't work if you swipe too far up it doesn't, if you swipe too far from the center and reachability is not enabled by default on the iPhone 10 and now I know why because it sucks and I'm not the only one who thinks this, go look at any review, they mention it, so mr.

Big shot, if you think you're smarter than Apple, where would you put Control Center? First of all, I don't think it's smarter than Apple, but maybe they could put it in the multitasking drawer as the first card when you swipe up. on the left it is in the same place, there are fewer gestures and it is easily accessible from the bottom, oh yes, multitasking, by the way, is also not intuitive. Apple tells you when you first set up the phone, as well as in the package at your fingertips that they include in the swipe up box to enter multitasking, but that's actually not a good way to do it, it's slow because the phone is waiting to make sure you're not trying to swipe up to go home before the apps that appear appear.
There is a bit of a lag though, when you swipe right it immediately takes you to the car view, that's the best way to get into multitasking, but Apple never teaches you how to do this and it's not intuitive to figure out. on your own, in fact. It wasn't until I read an article online that I learned how to do this and I'm a techie, my brother and dad who are not very tech savvy had no idea until I told them that's not a good design, some other designs rapid. -shoots oddities before finishing the home bar gesture is good just as I predicted, however it is bad in landscape mode, the home bar gesture does not respect the orientation of the device which is silly let's say What are you playing, okay? in landscape mode and you will have finished the game if you turn on your phone in portrait mode, it doesn't matter, you can't swipe home, your phone ignores you, you have to swipe up from the landscape idea down, also in landscape mode, If that wasn't weird enough, I guess as an attempt to prevent accidental swipes, you have to swipe home twice to go home, you have to swipe up once to activate the home bar, and then once it turns white, you have to swipe up again to actually act on the gesture, talk about annoying on the lock screen, there are two new 3D touch buttons and they're actually kind of useful, but one of them is programmed for the camera, which doesn't make any sense because swiping right towards the camera is still there. which is faster, there are two redundant elements that do the same thing again, these buttons should be customizable, but not all of them are, so they shouldn't be exclusive to the iPhone 10 either.
Every iPhone since the iPhone 6s has had a touch 3D, what the hell Apple? spread the love get this out to everyone latest when you install an app from the App Store Face ID verifies that it's you and then tells you to double click to install. I received two phone calls, one from my brother and one from my friend, asking why they couldn't install an app even after double tapping the screen. They didn't realize that you have to double click the power button, not the screen. These are not stupid people. Apple just isn't very clear on what you have to do other than why.
You're buying an app even tied to a hardware button anyway, just put a buy button on the screen like anyone else. Now I realize that this video may have sounded like a rant and that wasn't my intention, I mean, I like the iPhone 10. I really do, but there are some things that are very poorly thought out and iOS 11 is clearly not designed with Consider the iPhone 10. Fortunately, these issues are software-related and will otherwise likely be fixed in the coming months. the next major release of iOS 12, but there are still issues with year 1 quirks with the ridiculous $1,000 price tag that it's probably best to wait until next year when the iPhone 10 design becomes the norm at a more expensive price. low with fewer commitments.
I'm the queen of fancy labs, if you like this video, like it if you didn't, but that other button seems to work. Okay, subscribe for more awesome tech videos like these, but most importantly, and as always, stay stylish.
