iPhone 11 and 11 Pro review: Are they for you?
Feb 27, 2020the iPhone 11 the iPhone 11 Pro the iPhone 11 Pro max these are Apple's iPhones for 2019 here are some of them for you let's find out now let's put this into perspective what is Apple doing with iPhones right now every year
they
have a new iPhone now we we're pushing all these new technologies, some of them aren't fully here yet and Apple is looking at practical things. the mac pro and pro are the same with different screen sizes so the difference between the pro and the 11 really comes down to steel or aluminum and you go with two or three camerasiphone
s have faster processors have better battery life the battery andthey
come in different colors but actually this year Apple is doing the big feature about the camera here look good now you're looking through the iPhone 11 Pro Max and I'm holding the iPhone 11 and the iPhone 11 prep now all of these phones have a 12 megapixel wide which is what you're looking at now which is now on the standard camera but they also had ultra wide which expands the view significantly this is kind of a special shot with which you have you have to play around to get the framing right they both have that but only pro phones have telephoto that gets really close to x optical zoom that's something i use all the time but it has to pay for that you may not need telephoto but that's what the pro is taking advantage of give me that phone the front cameras on alliphone
11 models are the same and better than the 10 and 10 year models past there are 12 megapixel cameras and they are wider so you can fit more people in one shot which is the key which has been on other phones as well and yes there is also slow motion selfie whatever you want to call it it's not a mode photography as live photo, but what you are enabling is slow motion video recording on the front. camera i wouldn't use all that is like an emoji from this year and you know what my kids really liked to play with it basically logged minutes sticking out the tongue the photos i took on the 11 and 11 Pro so far they look great but the Apple's photo quality has already been excellent in recent years, at most you'll notice it with things like Smart HDR in extreme lighting conditions, or of course with that extra ultra-wide camera, the camera app has changed and you can see here. which when you're zooming in, it throws in some of the stuff from the other camera lenses to show you what you might be missing, so it's panning into the square, but then it says, hey, you might want to back up, it's like a viewfinder portrait mode. back you can also zoom in and out and there's a new mode called high key light mono which takes that photo and superimposes it on a white background in black and white the iphone 11 has two cameras the wide and the ultra wide but it's missing the telephoto , you can zoom in more, but that's the digital zoom, which isn't always that high quality, but sometimes it's ok and in portrait mode it's there, but it's only available at a wide zoom level, it doesn't zoom into telephoto, there is also video stabilization on the iphone 11 and on the 11pro models it's better than before I shot at 60 frames per second in 4k and tried walking around to check it's not 100% but I was using stabilization on iPhones previously actually it i use to trigger at apple events when i walk into the demo room and i think this is smoother it still shows my steps but it looks nicer and the video overall looks great thats always been the strong point of the iphone this one looks so much better r but keep in mind that a you can do a lot on both models there is also a quick take video where when you are in photo mode you can just press and hold the shutter button to take a video to film in ratio aspect of whatever you were taking a photo of right now I know you want to see how night mode works but it's not dark enough yet so before we get to that let's talk about the design because people care that Apple make cool phones but there are some differences from iPhone 11.It has a glossy glass back and an aluminum case while iPhone 11 pro has a stainless steel case, any frosted glass back is like the year back when the iPhone 10 had an aluminum case and the 10 had a steel case it's kind of a fancy upgrade here I have two of the most controversial colors the green ones this green on the 11 looks like a 1960s swimming pool like an aqua turquoise it's kind of funky while the midnight green on the 11pro has this outdoor industrial type look and the three cam lightning bolt is kind of intimidating , everything has a look I don't like or some sort of dystopian futuristic iPhone look, while this one looks a bit friendlier, but why couldn't they all fit together? rful and pastel and why couldn't it be metallic that's what an iPhone land looks like the iPhone 11 has the same LCD as the iPhone 10 R and it looks a lot better than you might think it's perfectly fine but the iPhone 11 pro has a screen OLED which has a higher resolution and also a higher rest ratio this year and brighter it's starting to get dark enough for night mode it's not even dark enough but you'll come with me and I'll show you how night mode works night mode kicks in automatically when it gets dark enough and you can tell because there's a little icon here and it tells you the average length of exposure when used if it gets dark that will increase my taking a photo right now it takes a little bit of time for it to process, but then you can see that it actually does a lot better than previous iPhones.
Night mode works at telephoto and wide, but when you switch to ultra-wide, there's no night mode. The photo still looks good. but they're not going to kick k with the same night vision you'd get in the other modes so I have a lot of feelings about night mode so far I think it's a great overdone feature on the iPhone and many other competing phones have added this feature but keep in mind that the extra exposure time is something to get used to; In addition, the photos that are taken will produce some unusual processing effects. Some photos look spectacular.
Others look strangely dramatic. it's daytime and the resolution of these photos can really vary, they won't look as sharp as a photo in broad daylight in all cases, sometimes you may want to turn it off completely I've only been using it for a few days and I'm I'm glad it's there, but night mode isn't a panacea for everything. There's no night mode on video, but Apple's camera enhancements for video recording look great in low-light conditions. low light tails like wide angle and telephoto modes ok guys some real talk so I haven't even used these phones for over a week actually less than a week and there's just so much you can look at I think these are better phones and the fact that Apple is focusing on better battery life is great but there are a few things I would have liked like you can just get a bigger charger or a charger 18 watts with the pro phone, it doesn't come with the iPhone 11 and there's no USB. look and you can't charge stuff through the back, which is good for, say, a watch that Samsung makes that you can't do on this yet.
I don't really care much for 5g yet because I just like my own cellular connection to work better on LTE, which thanks to the way the nation's connectivity works isn't always the case with my daily commute, but hopefully that'll be fixed , we'll see, we'll see how that works out and they don't even know next year Apple will release an iPhone 5g and if they do how much? that would cost right now apple focus on some core product upgrades faster better battery life better camera what i upgrade to this i mean most people don't upgrade their phones every year or every two years or every three years A lot of people I know my family and other people upgrade like every four years so you'll really wait to spend money on a phone and Apple at least acknowledge everyone will buy if that was on our phone and they aim more for the $700 phone than It's still expensive, but at least it's not a thousand dollar phone and it's $50 less than the 10R, so there's a bit of progress.
I'd still like to see an iPhone sequel, who knows if that will ever happen. In the meantime if you've had a phone like an iPhone 6s or a7 this is a very nice upgrade and if you're a photographer who wants something where you can see all the color details and especially at night then OLED will pay off but it can also want t to wait and see what else comes these are not necessary updates these are good updates and that's the story of the iPhone in 2019 are you kidding I've been working on this I've seen my kids I've been to Brooklyn I've a return trip to New Jersey, which is like two rivers.
They really like to take slow motion selfies, that's what most salomo selfies will be. I mean, they're fine. I will see my family again and it will be wonderful.
