INCREDIBLE DOLLAR TREE CUBE ORGANIZER HACK FARMHOUSE DIY

What the family welcomes you to my channel so today ciy is one of my favorite DIY projects I've ever done. I know I say it a lot, but this one is actually really cute, so I'll show you it's at Dollar Tree Cube.

because not all of the products I'm using are from Dollar Tree. I've done cube organization DIYs using Dollar Tree products in the past, this time I wanted to bring something different. and new, and I can't think of anything that really makes as much money sense as getting it at Dollar Tree, so I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.

You want to pick up some of their cube organizers right now. They have the Sterilite cube organizers. Now these connect to each other with the little circles sticking out on the side. when you tie them together they don't really stay in place so to secure them together you can pick them all up at once use zip ties the zip ties are from Dollar Tree they have different sizes and then get them in clear black. and red, if you are painting yours black or red, you can get them now if you can't find these Sterilite boxes at Dollar Tree Walmart also sells them year round, the black ones for 97 cents, but since it's back to school, They currently have them. other colors so if you want pink, purple, baby blue, mint green, white they currently have all of those colors and they are also 97 cents they even have larger sizes that are around $3 $4 but the small ones I am using They cost 97 cents at Walmart.

Things are going to look a little weird right now people are always asking me what I do with my crafts. One of the main things I do with them is recycle them, so right now all of a sudden you see the rose gold color at the bottom, that's because I made the marble one that's on Instagram and now I'm repurposing it to attach three more , so I have 12 total that I'm using for my

farmhouse

slaw and now I'm going to spray paint it, so what I'm using is the rest. o li I'm sad about the London gray finish, that's my bud or lack thereof, a closeup anyway, so let me tell you a real quick story about this spray paint.

I didn't want to use this color, I really wanted to. I used light colored chalk gray spray paint, but it didn't fit me anymore, so I ended up using this London gray color because it was all I had in gray and I'm so happy that this is it. which I ended up using. with this it looks great with the decor I already have on hand you don't have to use spray paint you can use a different type of paint. I prefer spray paint because it is quicker and easier to do. You can leave your Kube organizer.

At Justice you don't even have to spray paint it, there are things you can do to fit your budget and that's something I want to make clear because there are always people who say, "Well, I can go to this store and get it." cheaper, well go to that store and get it cheap, but I didn't tell you that you have to do this, just do what suits your budget, do what style you like, boo, what I do is mainly for inspire me and you can take it and leave it however you want and do whatever you want now.

The next thing I'm going to do again is optional: I'm going to grab these vinyl tiles from Lowe's that I bought for a

dollar

and 29 cents each. I'm using five in total and cutting them to fit inside the cubes. I have to measure it to fit inside the cubes. I was cutting pieces that were six and a half inches wide but I wasn't playing with the length. It's very easy to cut these little vinyl mosaics, you just need a knife and what you do is you measure it, you put the knife on, whatever you're using, on the back of the tile, trim it out and then you don't even have to go deep enough and then just bend it back and forth until it breaks.

Here's an option from Dollar Tree. You can get the foam board from Dollar Tree, as well as the wood look shelf liner, it's an adhesive. It's a sticker, you'll probably need at least two of those for this, as well as two boring pieces of foam, and what you do is you just cut it all out and put the sticker on top of the foam board and then inside the cube. organizer I pretty much show you how to do this in the Instagram tutorial, except I'm using the marbled adhesive. I've made similar cube organizers that way before, so that's why I didn't want to repeat myself.

I wanted to do something different. and I also like this because it looks more realistic, it has a texture that makes it look more like real wood than the Dollar Tree sticker and it's not like it's much more expensive than if I had bought four

dollar

s worth of Dollar. Tree Products, after cutting the pieces for the inside of the organizers, I go ahead and cut some vinyl tile pieces for the sides of the organizer as well as the top, usually on the back of the vinyl tiles there are an adhesive and all you would have to do is remove the paper from the vinyl tiles and then place them inside the cube organizers.

Now there is a flat surface when you place them inside the cube organizer, but when it comes to laying down the vinyl tiles. On the sides of the cube organizers you need to put a little glue where those little circles come out, because the tile doesn't have a flat surface to stick on, so you need something to hold it in place, personally I would have done that. I used a stronger glue like e6000 gorilla glue, but I didn't have any on hand so I had to use my hot glue gun. Cool guns will keep it in place.

There's only a good chance you can remove it, but I. I'd hate for it to be better than nothing. The last thing I did was take some brown acrylic paint and just paint the edges of the tile because it was white and looked a little weird, so I'm trying to mix it in now, although you can leave it like that. so, this was six dollars and forty-five cents worth of tile, if you do it, it's Dollar Tree style with the foam board and the adhesive, that's only four dollars, so you know there are some options, but there was something that I really wanted to.

To try this out, I ended up going to Lowe's and buying this 8 foot piece of wood that I had cut at Lowe's. I asked them to cut it into 227 inch pieces and one 30 inch piece. I had leftover wood, those are just my options for The wood I wanted was 6ft and 8ft, so I knew I needed the 8ft now. If you want to get less expensive wood, you can do it. There are many options and they cut it for you, so I took my pieces home. and I sanded them on the wood I chose, it really didn't need to be sanded too much and then I stained the wood.

I used Minwax stain in dark walnut. I've used this particular dye for many DIY projects now and still have plenty left over. I will say this. I tend to do things the other way around and then realize I probably shouldn't do it a little differently, so it might make more sense to bond the wood first and then stain because wood adheres better when there's no paint or stain, but I mean doing it the way I did it, it wasn't like it was bad or anything, it's probably better to do it another way anyway, when my wood has dried, I then put the pieces together to make it that way.

What I did was I used wood glue first to attach the 227 inch pieces to the 30 inch piece, so while the glue is still wet you want to put some nails through the wood to hold the glue in place while it dry, so that the wood is not dry. It doesn't move and until it sticks the way you want, so I asked my husband to put the nails in while I held the board because, you know, the glue wouldn't dry if I didn't hold the board. It's going to be a little difficult for him to get through the nails.

The nails I'm using are from Dollar Tree. You only want to use nails that are large enough to go through the wood and cut wood to fit 12 Kube organizers. Obviously if you're going to use more or less you'll have to adjust the pieces and even though you know the length and everything, that's what I did and once everything was dry and in place I just go ahead and place the wood on top of the organizer of the cube and that's it, then you can go ahead and decorate this however you want. There are other things you can do.

You can add more tiles to each interior side of the cubicle so that everything is just that vinyl tile. and you don't see any of those little holes in the cubicle, it's up to you, like I said, it depends on what your budget is and what you want to do, so I hope you enjoyed this video again if you liked it.
