INCREDIBLE DOLLAR TREE CUBE ORGANIZER HACK FARMHOUSE DIY
what the family welcome back to my channel so today ciy is one of my favorite DIYs I've ever done I know I say that quite a lot but this one is really really nice so I'm gonna show you it's at the
organizers to create this Barnhouse
organizerso it's more like a
hackbecause not all the products I'm using are from
TreeI have done
cubeorganizing DIYs using
Treeproducts in the past this time around I wanted to bring something different and new and I couldn't think of anything that really made that much sense money-wise to get at
Treefor this one so hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial if you do please make sure you give a thumbs up and I'm gonna aim for something here if we can get this video to 10,000 thumbs up by next week I will have another one of these for you guys but this time around I think I'm gonna do more of the enamel look where it's black and white so if it sounds like something you would like to see make sure you give it a thumbs up and if you're more into a glam look make sure you check out my Instagram because I uploaded a tutorial last week of the
organizerbut I did in rose gold and marble one so if you want to check that out the link will be down below my Instagram so all that being said make sure you subscribe to my youtube channel if you're not and click the Bell button so you're notified every single time that I upload now let's begin the...
Treeyou want to pick up some of their
organizers right now they have the Sterilite
organizers now these connect to each other with the little circle things that pop out on the side the thing is when you attach them to each other they don't really stay in place so to secure them together so you can pick up it all at once use zip ties the zip ties are from
Treethey have different sizes and then carry them in clear black and red if you're painting yours black or red well you can get those now if you cannot find these Sterilite crates at
TreeWalmart also carries them all year round black ones for 97 cents but because it's back-to-school they currently have other colors so if you want pink purple a baby blue a mint green white they currently have all those colors and 97 cents as well they even have bigger sized ones that are around $3 $4 but the small ones I'm using are 97 cents at Walmart things are gonna look a little funky right now people always ask what I do with my DIYs one of the main things I do with them is recycle them so right now all of a sudden you see the rose gold color at the bottom that's because I made the marble one that's on Instagram and now I'm reusing it in attaching three more so I have 12 total that I'm using for my
farmhouseslaw and now I'm gonna spray-paint that so what I'm using is this rest o li I'm sad in London gray finish that is my bud or lack thereof a...
close-up of it anyways so let me tell you a story real quick about this spray paint I didn't want to use this color I really wanted to use a chalk light color gray spray paint but I didn't have any more left so I ended up using this London gray color because it was all I had in a gray color and I'm so happy that this is what I ended up going with it just looks really good with the decor that I already have on hand you don't have to use spray paint you can use a different type of pain I just prefer spray pain because it's quicker and easier to do you can leave your Kube
organizerat justice you don't even have to spray paint it there are things you can do to suit your budget and that's one thing I want to make clear because there are always people who are like well I can go to this store and get it for cheaper well go to that store and get it for cheap but I didn't tell you you have to do this you just do what suits your budget you do what is the style you like you do you boo what I do is mainly for inspiration and you could take and leave it as you please and do what you want now the next thing I'm doing again optional is I'm taking these vinyl tiles from Lowe's that I got for a
dollarand 29 cents apiece I'm using five of them total and I am cutting them down to fit the inside of the
cubes I have to measure it out to fit the inside of the
cubes I was cutting six and a half inch wide pieces but I wasn't messing with the...
length of it at all it's really simple to cut these little vinyl tiles you just need a razor utility knife and what you do is you measure it out you put the razor utility knife whatever it is that you're using to the back of the tile cut it out and then you don't even have to get that deep just enough and then just bend it forward and backwards until it snaps now here's a
Treeoption you can get the foam board from
Treeas well as the wood looking shelf liner it's an adhesive it's a sticker you probably need at least two of those for this though as well as two pieces of foam bored and what you do is you just cut it all out and put the adhesive on top of the foam board and then that inside of the
organizerI pretty much show you how to do this on the Instagram tutorial except I'm using the marbled adhesive I've done
organizers similar that way before so that's why I just didn't want to repeat myself I wanted to do something different and I also like this because it looks more realistic there is a texture to it that makes it look more like real wood than the adhesive from
Treeand it's not like it's that much more expensive than if I would have bought four
dollars worth of
Treeproducts after I had the pieces for the inside of the
organizers cut I then go ahead and cut out some vinyl tile pieces for the sides of the
organizeras well as the top of it normally on the back of vinyl tile there is...
an adhesive and all you would have to do is take off the paper from the vinyl tiles and then place them inside of your
organizers now there is a flat surface when you're placing those inside of the
organizerbut when it comes to placing the vinyl tiles on the sides of the
organizers you need to place down some glue where those little circle things are popping out reason being is the tile doesn't have a flat surface to stick on so you need something to hold it in place personally I would have used a more heavy-duty glue like e6000 gorilla glue but I didn't have any on hand so I had to use my hot glue gun how cool guns gonna keep it in place it's just there's a good chance you might knock it off but I'd hate it's better than nothing the final thing I did was take some brown acrylic paint and just paint the edges of the tile because it was white and it looked a little funny so I try to blend it in now though you can leave it just like this this was six
dollars and forty-five cents worth of tile if you do it's a
Treeway with the foam board and the adhesive that's only four
dollars right there so you know there are some options but there was something I really really wanted to try it with this I ended up going to Lowe's and purchasing this 8 foot piece of wood that I had cut at Lowe's I had them cut it down to 227 inch pieces and a 30 inch piece I did have leftover wood it's just my options for the wood I...
wanted were 6 feet and 8 feet so I knew I needed the 8 feet one now if you want to get less expensive wood you can totally do that there are many options and they cut it down for you so I took my pieces home and I sanded them down the wood that I chose it really didn't have to be sanded down too much and then I stained the wood I used Minwax stain in dark walnut I have used this stain in particular for so many DIYs now and I still have a bunch left over I'll say this I tend to do things backwards and then realize hey I probably shouldn't do that a little different so it might make more sense to attach the wood first and then stain because wood adheres better when there's no paint or stain on it but I mean doing it the way I did it wasn't like it was bad or anything it's just probably better to do it the other way anyways when my wood has dried I then attach the pieces together so what I did is I used wood glue first to attach the 227 inch pieces to the 30 inch piece so while the glue is still wet you want to put some nails through the wood so that it secures the glue while it's drying so that like the wood isn't kind of moving around and until it glues the way you want it to be so I had my husband actually put the nails in while I held the board because you know since the glue wasn't dried if I wasn't holding the board it was gonna be a little bit hard for him to get the nails through the nails I'm using are from
just want to use nails that are gonna be big enough to go through the wood and the wood cut to fit 12 Kube
