Improving Grian's Redstone

May 05, 2020
Then, the other day something very, very strange happened. Green Maze, a Redstone video and I'm going to say I was actually incredibly impressed with what you managed to achieve now of course because this is gray and the video had to do with cheats because everyone I know what green and

redstone

looks like , although it occasionally seemed a little dated, everything worked correctly and did what it was supposed to do, which is the most important thing. However, I thought it would be fun to take some of the concepts and ideas that Green came up with in that video and make a little magic with them and try my best to make them a little more lethal, so let's start now with this first one. .
improving grian s redstone
We need to be on Minecraft 1.14 because it involves these lovely things, scaffolding blocks after placing them correctly. Wow, in case you don't know, this is my first time using blocks anyway. In Green's video, he created this trap where a player walks towards their diamond block in the middle of a desert when they break the diamond block, all the sand falls to the ground and they are killed by the total damage. Now this is a really cool idea. The only thing I would say is that the sand took a long time to fall, so I wait. This idea will make things happen a little faster.

More Interesting Facts About,

improving grian s redstone...

I have to be very careful because if I break this block, this whole scaffolding falls down. Fortunately I managed to prevent that from happening, but I hope it happens now because if it comes to this. diamond door and we break it we fall to our deaths incredibly fast there's really no reaction time there there's nothing you can do about it you just fall straight to the ground immediately right, I have to try to find this thing and then I'll show you exactly how it works and I must To say it's actually quite simple, when we break the diamond gate, it simply breaks the top scaffolding, which then breaks all the scaffolding connected to it, so it's like breaking the tree trunk.

Some of the branches just fall off and they all fall to the bottom, killing us pretty quickly, but what if you wanted to make a much larger one consisting of several scaffold trees? So it's probably a good idea to build something like this, so here we have the same setup we had at the beginning with the piston breaking this central area of scaffolding blocks, but then this observer will detect the breaking of the scaffolding and send a Redstone signal to through this line here, which is incredibly fast due to the fact that it only involves, I think, three observers total and three Pistons, so it should only be about six tix of

redstone

and then that will break these trees of remaining scaffolding blocks and will destroy all remaining scaffolding blocks.

Now, obviously, you could do something much bigger than this. It's just an example, but it should work pretty well because you can't actually get to the diamond gate from any area of the arena here and it goes three, two, one, so it goes the middle ones and then the outer ones, now there's a bit. a bit of a delay because of course we have to wait for all the scaffolding to break upwards, but still, I mean, you're not going to escape that, are you? I think this one is complete, let's move on to the next one and yes There's one thing Green really enjoyed in his trapping video: the pufferfish.
He loved using puffer fish and I have to say that this trap of dropping puffer fish through the ceiling was entertaining and also quite deadly. Now I hear you have a scale to help you with the redstone in this case and yes the scale once again did a very good job but I still think there are a handful of very small improvements that can be made here now just as a quick heads up and my decoration is not It will be close to the level of greens. I don't think I'm ready to do decorating videos yet, so once again, the greens use a spotter to take the exit from the wall and we're going to run that and then we need power for this piston, then this piston, and then this piston and that will move this block here and then push the puffer fish into the hole.
I also thought it would be a good idea to throw a slime block. Casting the blowfish down seemed like a more exciting way to do it so this is what I've come up with so far and I hope it's not a bad start but I think I've gotten to a point now where In fact, we can try this, so if we just fill this with our pufferfish and then give you an update on what happened there, maybe shooting them on the ground might not be the best idea, so let's go back to drawing. Go up a little bit and now we have this system that's really simple, really fast and really compact, plus if we break this block down you can see everything happens really quickly and those guys spread out massively.
I didn't realize they would actually be expelled. well, it's like a blowfish scatter bomb which is cool and is created using whole chunks of redstone dust, two repeaters, three maybe four pistons, a redstone block and then a handful of furnaces and a slime block , super super simple stuff, now let's continue with the puffer fish theme now because they are clearly incredibly deadly and this next trap is absolutely brilliant. I mean, it's a really very clever system in the sense that you have some kind of water elevator and when the player enters it, it then retracts back revealing a whole ton of puffer fish which are then shot to the top causing you tons and tons of damage.
I mean, this is an incredibly powerful trap and I think I can modify it just a little bit to make it a little more convincing and also a little more lethal, so the first thing I'm going to do is try the lock swap at the bottom which swaps between magma and sauce and therefore it makes sense that you did so. a pressure plate here because if you only have a pressure plate in front of a soul sand elevator, at least some people will be a little curious, not me because I'm stupid, but for smart people, this one is for you, like this I think this whole thing might be working, so I'm going to try it with just a handful of pufferfish inside all of these dispensers and we'll see exactly how well it works now, obviously because I'm in Creative Mode I can use pufferfish spawning eggs. .
If you were playing survival, you'll obviously be using buckets with puffer fish, but it will work exactly the same way, so I think we can all agree that this looks like a pretty normal water lift. If I saw this inside someone's base, I probably wouldn't think anything of it, but if we go into survival mode and then we go into this thing, you can see it change and then yeah, that's worked like a charm, so we've got Pushed up, we got stuck on that block and were killed almost instantly by the puffer fish. I mean, again, there's no reaction time here because you wouldn't really expect that to happen and the best thing about the system is that it's so ridiculously simple that we just have a Swampert block at the bottom, then we have a stable mana loop that it sends an exit signal to these pistons that move the blocks and then these dispensers that dispense how the puff fish and then we I have this piston on the top that just pushes this block through the top here so we can't fly away of the elevator.
All really very easy to build and look how compact it is. Now I am very proud of this. I have to say that I really like the idea of catching these water elevators and Green made another designer's video and we're going to play with that too, but before I do that I thought I'd quickly jump in and take a look at a design that recently came to my attention. It happened that in front of us we have a completely normal looking water elevator, although a little short, but this would be totally caught off guard once again inside someone's face, however, if we walk inside this thing, you can look, quickly things are going south, very, very quickly, now the idea is actually very easy to reconstruct.
All you have is a pressure plate that runs into a monostable circuit once again and all it does is push these blocks and then retract them. get rid of all the water inside the system and then this block of magma here doesn't actually exchange alva, as far as it sounds at all, it just the pistons grab it and move it, which means we're left with the chamber that we let it fall. Straight into the lava, I mean, you wouldn't really see it coming, would you? Let's move on to the final green design in today's video and interestingly enough, it's like the polar opposite of that one over there, the way it worked is you.
It had a NEWater lift that launches you into lava that didn't actually have any redstone involved, but I think we can do something to make it a little more unprepared. I guess you could say that here we once again have a completely unsuspecting water elevator, we have a pressure plate at the bottom and it has been made to look like all it does is hold water and then at the top , here you can notice that we actually have a ladder, but you would. I really have to be looking at this to be able to notice that, but what that ladder does is actually put flowing water into the system, which means these aren't magma bubbles, these actually are, so you're just going to float up.
Up to this point here and then in the back we have a little bit of magic, so let me show you how it works when the player enters this completely normal looking elevator, the water will be removed from above and the larva will be placed in its place and there is a very good job of killing the player quickly and what I find extremely interesting is the fact that the lava doesn't actually turn any of the water blocks below into a couple of stones and I think that might have something to do with the bubbles anyway that seems strange now this works fine in this example, but in an ideal situation you would build it miles up because not only will you not be able to detect that staircase in the slightest, but also when the player gets there, the lavas will be there, I mean, they will be there and players will just go straight for them, so there we go, that's all the traps that I present in today's video.
I just want to say that they are really cool. work, Green, you came up with some incredibly interesting concepts, some of which appear in this video. I haven't been in this video, so if you want to watch Green's video, I suggest you watch it because it really is. well and I was really impressed with the redstone that was used there, but I had a lot of fun with this way: my flaming redstone contraption, my flaming redstone contraptions anyway. I really hope you enjoyed it, if you did please.
