I Powder Coated my WHEELS GLOW in the DARK

Feb 27, 2020
What's going on guys, welcome back to the channel today. We're starting the video again at the hardware store. I need to get some things to hang the FC

wheels

on so we can

powder

coat them. What I ended up getting from the hardware. There were some electrical outlets in the store, so I'm going to drill three holes in these and then I could hang the

wheels

with this wire right here and then I could drill a hole in the center of each of those things and hold them up like they clip on. these hooks on the boys

powder

coat rack now that I'm back in the shop what I'm going to do is drill four holes in the side of each of these brackets and then I'll drill a hole in the center so I can mount them like this which once they're mounted this is what's going to hang the wheel and then from the four holes I'm just going to run some bailing wire that's right here so that's bailing wire and then that's going to hold the wheels on so I'm not going to do that. .

I really have to worry about hanging it a different way and then I could tape the back of the wheel and it will actually get everything, everything will be

coated

. I just finished cutting the wheels. Everything went pretty well. The guy next door, Trevor's store, is. the powder coating guy and he pretty much knows what he's doing, so I let him coat the wheels, it was his weapon, his setup. I really don't want to have to worry about messing anything up. He wanted me to make them today and now that they are ready. They look really great, I can't wait to see them at night, you can almost see them

glow

ing in the shadow like there's a little bit of rain right there, it just makes it like the neon yellow is so much brighter, so what are we?

More Interesting Facts About,

Now I'm going to take them to the shop, put the tires on them, put them in the FC and then tonight, I guess we'll see how they look at night. I just got back to the shop and Trevor had a pair of front tires because the front ones are a little smaller so these are 215 45. I was looking for 225 but these will do and I really like the color of the wheels. They are just what he wanted for FC. Now the wheels will match so I'm very happy with how The wheels came out and they are exactly how I imagined them so a lot of people might say these wheels are over the top but even in this color I know there are a lot of neon yellow or neon yellow wheels. tennis ball or RPF but these are not just yellow tennis balls RPF on camera and off camera they are ridiculously bright I can't I'm just so excited how they came out you guys don't even know the half of it yet because now I'm going to show you I guess on the thumbnail you probably saw it, but now I'm going to show you why I wanted these wheels to

glow

in the

dark

, so I haven't really seen anyone use gold in the

dark

. to record the glow in the dark of the wheels with my main camera and for some reason it doesn't pick up at all my cell phone sees it but my main camera my Sony doesn't pick up UV rays, I guess they glow -UV in the dark, like this which maybe has a UV filter and I don't know how to turn it off, but I'm going to go get my other camera home, hopefully we can see it.

My phone's camera is a bit I don't know, it's a bit old, it's a bit grainy and pixelated at night, it doesn't really like night shots, so I think if I take my other camera and leave the lights on I might be able to get a good photo of the glow in the dark on the wheels but yeah I really like how these wheels turned out or were they just silver on the back and then the other ones I bought were black because there were two sets of wheels because they were staggered. So the front wheels are seventeen by eight, the rear wheels are 17 by 10 which are the widest wheels that can fit on an original UFC purchase and as you know I don't like cutting quarter panels or rolling quarters, actually there are none. reason why i think the rear tires are 275 or 295s let's look at a 275 40 on a FC with stock body so let's go to my house grab the other camera hopefully we can get a good video of the glow in the dark of the wheels.

Another thing, I really wish I could drive this car, but I took out the radiator, so I ordered this radiator fan. I measured everything that came and it's a little too big so what I ended up doing was ordering another fan and then I ordered a cover for the fan. I'm not too sure about the fan cover. It's just a fan cover from eBay, so we'll see what happens with it. If it's not to my liking, I'll still use the new fan because it's just a 60. inch fan the same size as this one, but it doesn't have a shroud so it only has four bolts that screw on.
I'll do a DIY cover and then we'll figure out the whole radiator situation and I can get the radiator. The fan puts the button back on the fan controller as you can see this is the temperature sensor for the fan controller and all it does is monitor the coolant going back to the engine so it is more reactive instead of trying turn off with a hot side. and it actually controls the coolant temperature better and the fans better, it doesn't use as many amps, it doesn't use as much power, it doesn't have the fans running all the time and I think that's the best way to do it.
I will say that the fan and fan shroud should be here by Friday, as well as a few other things. I ordered new engine mounts. Paulie engine mounts, poly mounts because the engine rocks a little bit, obviously this car is pretty old so I'm going to replace it. All of that brings the radiator, the fan, all of this back to the car and then we can take this on a cruise. I also need to register it, but once it's registered and it's pretty much the radiator subassembly on those engine mounts and everything is in This thing is going to be a really nice car to ride around in, just go around town and do some interesting things and actually it will look pretty decent even though it is a bit Haggard but it is more of a bit JDM rat rods and I have the other camera, I hope this camera doesn't interfere with seeing the glow in the dark wheels.
I guess what was happening with my camera was that there wasn't enough load on the brightness to be able to see. with the camera it has to be really charged to see it with the UV light on the camera so what I'm doing is charging it with some LED lights it should be pretty close to charging once I'm done with this it will. I think the tube was ready, so I think the problem was that it took me so long to mount the tires and get it on the car that it lost a lot of charge and they didn't really stay in the sun.
I think they sat down. in the sun and they are better my truck for 10 minutes well it took me 10 minutes to drive from the powder paint store to my store so I think tomorrow or not really tomorrow but when we have this outside in the sun. On Friday or Saturday we'll have a good load on these wheels and I think driving it with them glowing will be pretty surreal, so let's give this another five minutes and then turn off the lights and see if we can see the wheel. with the glow in the dark it's so I'm going to take the lights off now and see if we can see them with the lights off oh man you can only see the right place where the LEDs were, it's not getting a very good charge.
Because it's not a very direct light, let's try to load it up a little bit more so you can see the whole wheel. They have a bunch of LED lights directly on the wheel. I don't think LEDs are a very good way to load brightness. -in-the-dark I really don't think they put enough input into the glow-in-the-dark media, so I think we'll all be charged enough to see the wheel today when I actually had it. went out in the sun and took it to the bathroom they were very very bright and you could actually take a photo and see it in the picture so I think LEDs are not a very good way to charge brightness and I think the sun is probably the best way, so we'll let this charge for another five minutes and then we'll go from there, so now we'll turn off the lights and hopefully it will light up.
Look, it's not one hundred percent. charged only because those LEDs don't seem to charge the wheel enough for it to glow enough in the UV rays, but at this point I could see the entire wheel, it's actually quite bright where the camera can see it, which you can see on the camera is actually hot spots and that's only because the LEDs charge that area. I'm not exactly sure why the LEDs don't like to load the brightness, but I can see the entire wheel with my eye, it's just that the camera can't really see. I would see it really well and I would see everything like this and it would shine that bright right there, you know, it could have stayed in the sun for an hour, but it looks super, super good and I'm going to turn on the lights.
Again, so we're not just talking to the dark, but maybe on Friday, when I take this for a spin at night, I'll show you what these wheels look like when they're fully loaded. This will conclude this FC video. I am very excited to have received these powder

coated

wheels, they are more than I expected. I'm so glad I chose this color scheme. The bright-in-the-dark tennis ball yellow or highlighter yellow really makes this car stand out especially. It's a little tattered on the outside and it's got these nice shiny wheels and the inside is pretty decent and it works pretty well, so on Friday what we're going to do is shoot the fan, the fan shroud, I might throw out the radio. you're back with the fan shroud fan and you get this working a hundred percent and it drives again and then you check it in, you take it for a little ride and yeah, I'm going to enjoy it because it looks great, I think it looks great and yes it has come a long way from what it was before so if you like these videos be sure to click the subscribe button.
