Jun 03, 2021
So to find out

which

are the best

screen

protectors

for the iPhone 12, we got away with products from dbrand rhino shield flowlab shelrus mouse esr this angry gorilla looking thing otterbox zag talk and smartish whitestone and last and least belkin We spent over $450 on all of these

screen

protectors

and rated them based on size, installation tools, oleophobic coding, impact protections and scratch resistance, here are our top five right amounts and if you're wondering what they look like $450 worth of

broke

n glass in real use, check now. Some of you may be wondering if I still need a screen protector with the iPhone 12 with its fancy ceramic protector and the short answer is that I would say yes because the ceramic protector is definitely stronger than the iPhone 11 version, around 100 newtons in terms of

strongest

force. that test I did a few weeks ago this test with the screen protectors on my iPhone 12 mini I dropped a 35 pound protective plate on this one it didn't have a screen protector or case and you could definitely tell that the case is completely o The screen is completely damaged.

The ceramic shield didn't do much there but on the one that had a screen protector there is a bit of internal damage but the whole chassis hasn't bent so the screen protector along with the case definitely helped protect this. iPhone 12 mini from the £35 protective plate, so if you're thinking you might not need it if you're incredibly careful with your device, maybe, but even for me as a general user I still think a screen protector is a good idea anyway let's talk about sizing screen protectors sizing is simple we just measure the top we measure the bottom and sometimes we measure the thickness overall the bigger the glass the more protection it will offer its device in terms of size, the 3D impact of the rhino shield was the largest. followed by the full lab shellrisk d brand and most of the products, the smallest is actually the belkin ultra glass, that's right, Apple's preferred glass supplier produces the smallest screen protector, but it is also one of the most expensive in this video.

More Interesting Facts About,

i broke 17 different iphone 12 screen protectors which one was strongest...

The Apple tax is great, right? Now I admit that size doesn't matter because it will depend on the case you are going to use your device in. Brands that produce cases and screen protectors like Otterbox will tend to adjust the dimensions of their screen protectors to fit. their cases, that makes sense now, if you're really concerned about the fit with the smaller screen protector, it makes sense. There are only two in this video that will fit almost every case I have found. The first one is like this from Apple. fiscal product and the second is the full lap screen protector with non-black edges, so after evaluating them, what do we do with the next puppy?

We will take them away. We review the installation tools. Now, mobile device reviews. We have installed dozens and dozens. of screen protectors over the years and we still have problems with dust. In fact, I have gotten used to having dust under the screen protectors because I reviewed so many that I simply stopped using them, but for me, looking at these products, the quality of the installation tools is, from my point of view, a very Good way to measure how much a company cares about that actual product. In my opinion, the less you have to lift your device's screen protector to try to remove dust after installing it, the better it will be for you.

In this part we will look at

different

trays, the quantity and size of dust stickers and the types of wipes. One of the things I really appreciate about Flow Lab is the oversized dust stickers

which

most brands will only give you a slightly larger sticker which isn't very useful because the action of doing this on your screen usually deposits more dust than it actually removes from my perspective, so having that giant flowlab sticker that you basically like to stick on, take it off, put the frame on it. You can put the sticker back on to make sure you know there is no dust.
It's like it's such a simple thing, but it works really well and all the other companies here don't do that, so when it comes to installation tools, Flowlab comes. at the top followed by spigen and otterbox products, I know, I know, if you look at the

iphone

sc one, I'm not a big fan of the otterbox ones, but it's still better than nothing, you just have to be very careful with the tray because Oddly enough, the most expensive product in this video, this shower, is that it has a minimal amount of insulation tools, so the 3D impact of the random shield is also terrible in terms of installation tools and insulation real, so it's not in the The top three are in the top five, but not in the top three.
Alright, Monty, what do we do next? We tested the oleophobic coating. Now one of the most touted features of screen protectors, after the 9h hardness, is the oleophobic coating. Each of these products says it. It repels, you know, grease, fingerprints and stuff, but here's a dirty little secret: the coating wears off after a few months. Don't believe me, look how high this drop bounces on a new screen protector. You know it's great. What does the same drop look like? my oldest screen protector, which is the one on my iPhone 7. One is elastic and the other breaks.
It's the same for our iPhone screens. The coating usually wears off over time, but the stronger the coating, the longer it will last, so calculate the strength of the coating. We had to build another little gadget called Ruby. Now Ruby is a simple gadget. It's a wooden ramp set at 30 degrees with a bunch of markings two centimeters apart. We placed a screen protector on the ramp. We drip a little. drops of water on it and we filmed it all in slow motion, then we imported it into final cut pro and then we measured the number of frames needed to go from nine centimeters to two centimeters, we tell them how difficult it was, we tell them how difficult it was .
Going through all that footage apparently it was very difficult for Valve to go through all that footage and it was actually a lot of work going through all that footage so if you find this information useful this video you can get your stuff through my links this is not a sponsored channel, I just wanted to know which one is the best and generally the best doesn't usually change from one iPhone version to another, but again I'm a reviewer and that influencer had to figure it out 100% for myself, so yeah What I've done is helpful for you to get my stuff through my links which is a great way to support me or through Patreon.
Now, of the 17 products we tested, the most water-hating screen protector was the Shellr Sapphire RX, followed by the most hybrid glass and then the flowlab products, the autobox amp came in fourth. I should point out that between the shelrus and the amplified one the difference is only five frames, five frames we filmed everything at 240 frames per second, that is, five frames. it's a tiny, tiny amount, oddly enough, the slowest product is the one that's not the smoothest, it's this anti-glare zag, which makes sense because it has a sort of frosted thing to it that was expected.
The slowest normal looking glass was actually this dbrand product which I don't have the box for here, but it was the slowest by far. Now, based on our results, it looks like there are two or three clean breaks in the results. I guess the high performance ones are using coatings that apply statically, while others just kind of spray it on, yeah, some of these more expensive ones, the oleophobic coating was very, very disappointing. Now one of the things we've noticed over the last year is that many of these products include antibacterial coatings. Now there are only two. brands in this video that offer that and they are flow lab and zag products.
Now we're going to delve into these coatings over the next few months, we bought a bunch of agar and some petri dishes, so when we finish that video we'll put it here here here, after testing all the oleophobic stuff we installed each product on the iPhone to check the adhesive and interestingly, none had an adhesion issue, which makes sense given that the iPhone 12s. I no longer have a curved edge. I personally didn't like the curved edge of the iPhone 6 11s. Straight edge from my perspective is a better design choice, but hey, that's just me, but from a screen protector perspective, having a curved edge. edge means you had to have a little more adhesive and your adhesive had to be of good quality, for example the esr screen protector i tried with my

iphone

sc had terrible adhesion, but i had no problems with esr ones for iphone 12 because well sticking things on a flat surface is apparently very easy to do, so installation was not a major part of our entire process.
What do we do after the valve has taken all the screens and placed them on acrylic sheets and then flattened them with Bertha 2.0? Now, if you've been on the channel for a while, you'll know that we used to test with Birth 1.0, which was a 200 gram steel ball that was very slow but looked cool. Bertha 2.0 is much faster and just as it looks. Industrial, first of all, technically there are three hybrid glass or non-glass products. In this video you have the rhino gel 3d impact the mouse, hybrid glass screen protector and this thing that I bought on Amazon that has this gorilla, apparently there is like nano. ceramic technology I don't know, I just bought this because I needed some kind of control for these two products.
Now I put all three products in a set of shitty glass and tried to break them with bertha 2.0, the gorilla bs screen protector. it

broke

around 230 newtons the other two didn't really break bertha 2.0 has a limit of 500 newtons and they both hit the limit before breaking from a direct impact perspective non-glass screen protectors definitely outperform regular glass now when it comes normal glass The products from dbrand and esr surprised me because as far as I understand they are just normal tempered glass. Brand d also comes in a pack, yes it comes in a pack of three and yes I broke them all and they all broke a little more than all the others that use aluminum silica glass but the sample size is very small .
I only had two of the D brand, three of the esr and they didn't break consistently. I broke the last four flow labs I have and they all broke around the same area while on mark d it broke very high and very low and the esr just did this throughout the entire breaking process now the other thing worth the worth noting is that the sapphire glass of the showrus product itself is a little more fragile than tempered glass, the average first brakes with my risk screen protectors was about 350 Newtons, which is quite respectable, but the average of subsequent breaks after the first one was about 150.
So the moment you break your sapphire screen protector, the chance of it breaking even more increases a lot, but you might be thinking that's a very good reason to Don't buy a case or a screen protector because it is a very expensive product, but there is one thing you should keep in mind is that scratches cause cracks and this case Risk screen protector is very resistant to scratches, in fact, it is the king of scratch resistance, so here are the overall impact ratings. I've already talked about the top five, Spigen is at number six, Zag products are at number seven, and eleven Otterbox products are at number eight. and ten and a sandwich between zag and otterbox is the belkin ultra class.
These products are technically made of better glass, but during my impact test it didn't really seem like it was going to pass on scratch resistance now when it comes to scratches if you have I've been on the channel long enough, you know I criticize the companies that claim to have nine hardnesses because there are two scales of hardness, there is graphite in most of them and the one that people use by default is generally the highest scale because that's what Google spits out when you search. Hardness 9h, the reality is that most glass scratches with a hardness of 6 on the mohs scale hi monty my monty sunglasses with the iphone 12 glass we changed the way we rate everything now we operate our microscope and went and we looked at everything at 1200 times magnification and I realized that this six stripe pick scratches everything to some extent, it scratches everything I can do with a really good screen protector, they will scratch it whatever it is, the only one non-scratch product was the shelrises, which makes sense because it's sapphire crystal, but the inability to control how hard I'm pressing with these Mohs picks was something I've been struggling with for a long time because I can make that scratch slightly and I really get it going and then I start scratching it. same with the seven, I choose some of these protectors ofscreen that I can use with the five and I don't know if I'm scratching it or breaking it, it's like there's an inconsistency that I have, so with the iPhone 12 I just went. with three categories it doesn't scratch it scratches easily and it's hard to scratch I asked my wife who it's not val val help me my wife is at home no, she's working today um she doesn't know anything about screen protectors I gave her a selection out of six I said don Don't scratch the cracks, tell me what you think and the average of the results was generally a split that occurred with products like the zag otterbox and belkin full application double tempered ones.
Those products took a little more effort to scratch than the other products which was a single tempered glass they were much easier to scratch with the six pick the only product that didn't show any scratches on six seven eight or nine was the shower sapphire x so remember that scratches cause cracks and if the product does not get scratched there is a good chance that it will not crack only when it comes to regular glass screen protectors with these hybrid protectors that anger Gorilla Glass, Rhino Shield, impact 3D and more hybrid glass, each of these products scratches about three times, so there is a difference.
These things are much sturdier but scratch much easier, so you need to figure out which is more important. So before Monty goes and shows you what the top five are, he's going to present it here or technically, I guess you'll get your stuff through our links because this channel is not sponsored, this video has sponsors, so we end up having than buy it. things and breaking things so it gets pretty expensive but anyway that's the right way to do a review from our perspective so help us by getting your stuff through our links so that top five after we collect all our classifications, which we did based on a modified version. competition scoring system in general, the top ranked products were made with better glass, that's not a surprise, again, with iPhone accessories you get what you pay for, the exception was Belkin's ultra glass, the nano armor of the flow lab comes out first, now there you have it.
You have the otterbox amplifier glass, not the alpha shell sapphire action, third rhino shield, 3d impact and fourth, and the zag elite plus glass in fifth. Now, this is a pretty interesting variety in terms of products. The best bang for your buck is the flow lab. The casing risk is the best protection against scratches and as I said before, there are no scratches or cracks. The nice thing about the case wrist is that if you place it on your iPhone, it actually cools down much faster, so the temperature and feel of your iPhone screen changes with the show.
Rest it's very nice so if you can afford it treat yourself to the showrest the 3d impact if you are terrible with your devices so you know you can get one. It is the most impact resistant of this entire group and also has the least amount of packaging. it also scratches easier so you know there's some sort of trade off now between the amp and the invisible zag shield. In fact I would choose the zag even though the amp is better just because the warranty on zag products can make it so if you buy from Best Buy you just go back to Best Buy and get a new one through the warranty program so those are the top five products that we've come up with, these are going to be the five that we're probably going to buy.
I recommend now that there are a couple missing. I'm told there's a super strong glass coming out of one of these brands that I'm going to try and there's a brand called Panzer Glass that really fell short of this. video because they don't sell them in Canada so it's been hard to get one of them but that's all I have for this video, questions, comments, leave them down there the first time you watch one of my videos, click subscribe so that everyone Once I produce a video, you can see Monty dressing Italian sometimes with sunglasses, he doesn't really like his sunglasses, so if you find this information useful, this video gets its stuff via my links.
This is not a sponsored channel. This is not a sponsored video I'm not promoting a product, I just want to know which one is the best and generally the best doesn't usually change from one iPhone version to another, but again I'm a reviewer and that influencer had to find out one hundred percent. hundred myself, so if what I've made is useful to you, get my stuff through my links, that's a great way to support me or through Patreon.
