Like I said, four amazing sisters have already been chosen and there are still four more, included in this video right now, so good luck, thank you so much for all the love and support. And without further ado, let's jump into today's new video! So when I was talking about the PR boxes a few seconds ago you overheard me say it was a REAL James Charles X Morphe

palette

now "why would that matter?" you are wondering well because some very shady people and companies have decided that since the James Charles X Morphe Palette is sister sold out worldwide and is by far the most sought after makeup item this holiday season and Ulta and Morphe they can't keep in stock they would try to keep it in stock and make their own to try to cash in on the sales.
i bought a fake james charles palette
Absolutely not. Since the palette first sold out a few weeks ago, I've been getting tweets and screenshots literally every day from you guys. From any of the

fake

websites claiming they are selling the palette and running ads on Facebook and all over social media of people listing their palette on eBay for hundreds and hundreds of dollars which is so ridiculous. Also people literally emailing their sisters in YouTube comments saying they have Amazon gift cards and different lollipops for them to win. It's so ridiculous and it's made me so unbelievably furious that there are actually people out there trying to take advantage of you.
Please, please, don't fall for anything! The only places you can buy the palette are Morphe.com and Ulta.com. And I will always tell you when there is a restock. The Morphe legal team and my legal team have been working closely together recently to make sure this is resolved. They have been sending cease and desist after cease and desist to all of these listings online to make sure production stops immediately and all listings are removed. It's so disrespectful that these people want to slap my name, my face, and my hard work on some God knows what this product is to try and sell it for a few extra bucks.
So for today's video, I thought, if these guys are trying to rip you off and get you to order their popsicles, that's exactly what I would do. Now I did a video like this on my channel a few years ago when I tried on

fake

makeup and to do this I headed down to Santee alley. Santee alley is a very famous and iconic street located here in downtown Los Angeles. oOoO activated! They basically sell everything you can imagine. Whether it was a trendy Off-White belt, the latest Louis Vuitton bag, a ten thousand dollar pair of YSL diamond heels, mine, by the way, were fake.
Or whatever beauty collab was just released, you can definitely find it on the streets of Santee alley. Well, at least something... close to it. I had no idea if it was going to exist because obviously the palette was released a few weeks ago. So I headed down to Santee Alley to see if anyone had a fake James Charles X Morphe palette. I did my best to shoot on the DL because they are very, very strict about it there. After searching every street and talking to every makeup vendor in Santee alley for over two hours, literally on the way out, there was one last position I missed and was losing all hope but wanted to at least give it a try. so I said "hello" and he said "hello" and I said "do you have the James Charles X Morphe eyeshadow palette?" and he said "Yes, I only have two" and I said "how much?" and he said "twenty dollars" and I said "give it to me".
And finally, after a very, very long day and also an equally long video intro, we're back home with this. The James Charles X Morphe Palette For today's video, we're going to test and compare these babies right here, the real version and the fake version. I literally haven't even opened this but I wanted to save my first camera print but no! I'll be trying them out looking at the colors, the pigmentation, the shade names, the actual palette sizes, which literally aren't the same anymore! and I'm going to try to put them on my eyes too. Hopefully I won't infect my eyes or hurt myself.
We have no idea where these palettes are produced and there have been so many reports and stories of the ickiest ingredients found in fake makeup, like literal rat feces in your health news. Evening makeup shoppers should beware when they see a good deal on imitation brands, it really is too good to be true. Los Angeles police say they've seized counterfeit makeup that tested positive for high levels of bacteria and also, get this... animal excrement. I'm doing this at my own risk, so please don't try this at home. I wanted to do this video today to show you the dangers of fake makeup and also to address the scams so you can be smart about making bad purchases, but also to see if a fake can literally compare to the best makeup palette. the market right now.
So without further ado, I already have my face on, let's jump into the video. Alright guys, let's get right into this. I've been dying to open this all morning to see what the heck is inside! Oh my. God. So first of all, the packaging is clearly not the same. My head is like 800 percent bigger in this and also in this skin tone situation... we really don't love a sister scandal so I'm going to need to get it fixed. immediately. it's a darker packaging and it's also literally like an inch smaller and to me I have a feeling that we could open this up and it's going to be a 35 color palette instead of a 39 color palette so I don't know what it's going to be here! looking at the back of the boxes the note and signatures are exactly the same except there are some typos on the fake version, for some reason the H in Charles is capitalized and Morphe Brushes is misspelled.
Let's see the ingredients! On the back of my palette is a big detailed paragraph of all the different shade names, the different formulas, the different ingredients in the pressed pigment or regular shadows. On the back of this palette there is no. But the shadow names in this are 'Safe Word', 'Charm', 'Dominatrix', 'Military', 'Fetish', 'Androgyny', 'Poison' and 'Swallow' Now, I don't know about you, but those names definitely they're not in the James Charles X Morphe palette but I'll tell you which palette they're in, the Androgyny palette by Jeffree Star Cosmetics. I'm really not sure how people still manage to mix me and Jeffree together!
We are nothing alike and incredibly hardworking and have our own thing going. But at this point, I think I need to open this up, guys. I've been waiting too long and I just need to see what's inside! oh Ok, so, it still looks like my palette. Here's the real one, here's the fake one I just need to open this up! I'm so- I don't know why I'm so scared oh my god! Ok oh wow Well first of all this plastic has literally nothing on it so that's completely useless. Looking at these two palettes side by side, a lot of these shades are completely wrong, literally, there are formulas flipped left and right, there are colors that are wrong, but from afar that's definitely my palette.
Unleash your inner artist, more like unleash my inner lawsuit. Before I jump in and start playing I think I want to do some samples! We have my 'Ring of Light', oh my gosh, and the other ring of light…okay, gross. we have 'are you kidding' and... 'are you kidding' this is literally orange, okay. We have 'Spooky' and 'Spooky' oh wow that's sad. we have 'Social blade' and 'Social blade' literally not even the same formula ok we have 'Playground' and 'Playground' ew Last I want to do 'Escape' this is a hard question and escape Oh god look just looking this two on the finger you can already tell we have 'Escape' and 'Escape' oh so sad ok I'm going to go ahead and take this off my arm and so far so good my skin doesn't react at all thanks to God !
I'm going to put on an eye primer so we can put these shadows to the test. Alright, so I went ahead and zoomed in to do these looks so you can see the full details of what's going on. I have no idea what's going to happen to my eyelids, but I hope nothing too bad. I have a party to attend after shooting this video, so I think I definitely want to do a smoky cranberry kind of eye moment. I'm going to go ahead and play around and see what we come up with. First I'll take the real 'Are you kidding' on an M456 and put this shade directly into the crease in a tapping motion for maximum pigmentation.
Then with a clean M456 I'm going to dip in the same shade on the other side and do the exact same thing, hit it right on this outer corner and hit it in the crease. Oh, wow. Alright, I have no idea what's going on in this outer corner, there are certain areas where the shadow just doesn't grab and there's a really weird line here as well. I'm going to try tapping in a little more pigment to see if that's it. fix it up. The pigmentation is not really there either, I have had a layer that is on top many times.
Wow that doesn't look good. Well. Using an M433 brush, I'm going to dip into the 'Code James' shade and place this right on top of 'You're Kidding' and use that to buff the edge a bit. To be honest with you, I don't think I've worn these two colors together yet, but that is literally the perfect transition shade, oh my gosh. Taking a clean M433, I'm going to dip into the same shade in the faux palette and use it to blend out this other edge. OMG I really have to blend this so hard for the shadows to show up!
What is this line! how to do - ok, maybe if i try to put back the 'Are you kidding' envelope, it will fix it? I'm just going to stroke this in there. Ok, that definitely fixed it up a bit! I definitely want to deepen this crease, so I'm going to grab an M456 and dip into 'Boutique,' the dark matte cranberry red. And place it over the top and put it in the outer area. This color is so pretty. And then blending it out with the same brush we had 'Are you kidding' on. so on this side I'll take another M456 and dip in the same shade on this 'Boutique' side but before I put this on this is my 'Boutique' and this is this 'Boutique' so I'm going to have two looks of different eyes. it is very clear that we are playing a bit of the game of "one of these things is not like the other".
Doing the same thing, placing the shadow right on the crease, does this do anything? Hello? Whatever M433 is back on the fake 'Are you kidding', I'll see if that mixes something up a bit. Here are two different looks, I really don't know what to do! I can't go to a party looking like this, are you literally kidding? The pigmentation is not bad in the fake palette but they are not the same colors which I think is the real issue here this is clearly much darker smoky and cranberry. Whereas we only layer three colors and everything looks the same shade of bright orange.
Next, I'm going to take an M506 and I'm going to dip into the 'Benny' shade in my palette, which is like the dark aubergine color, and I'm going to put it right in this outer V and it's going to really darken it.I literally love the shade, I will also bring the excess right into the crease. oh yeah that's so pretty Oh my gosh Another M506 dip into the shade 'Benny' I can already tell this one ain't that dark. Here is my 'Benny' and here is the fake one. Placing this right on this outer V, once again touching the shadow there.
That's sad. Oh my God. well. Let's add a lot more! What's so weird is that the shadow actually goes on and blends nicely in some spots, but sticks together and doesn't blend at all in others. I've never seen this happen before, what's going on! The shadow won't stick there at all! My next step will be to cut the fold, so we'll do that. I'm going to cut the crease with an m224 brush and a bit of concealer. Alright, now that all the creases are cut, I want to go in and I want to layer the metallic tones for a nice pop of festive color.
I'm going to take an M124 brush and dip it into the 'Shook' shade, which is the metallic cranberry red, and I'm going to place this shade right in the center of the eyelid. My God, how beautiful! I don't know why I haven't done a cranberry red eye look with the palette yet. I literally haven't had time, but this looks so beautiful! I'm going to use and mix it with the dark cranberry shade here as well for a smooth transition. Clean brush, I'm going to grab 'Shook' one more time from the fake palette. I'm going to place this in the exact same spot on the fake side.
Wow, that's disappointing! Okay, so I really bury my brush in here, packing this right in the lid. I'm going to use this to blur that outer edge as well. And finally, just to brighten things up a bit in the inside corner, I'm going to grab another M124, this one is clean. Dip it in a mix of the 'Literally' shades and also a bit of 'Sister' I'm going to tuck that little concoction right into the inner corner and mix it into 'Shook'. oh how beautiful, oh my god! So for the other eye, once again grabbing that M124 brush, I'm going to do 'Literally' and 'Sister'.
Quick issue here, 'Literally' is a matte shade in this palette so I'm not quite sure how this will work. But you know, we will! Okay, since I have a party to go to after this and I don't want to look gross, I'm just going to take a 'Sister' because at least it's a metallic shade, and I'm going to place it here. This is what we have for the royal eye palette so far, seriously beautiful! And this is what we have for the fake eye palette so far, not horrible but definitely not comparable in any way, shape or form to the original.
Starting at the lower lash line just grabbing 'Are You Kidding' with an M456 brush and tucking it right under here and blending it into the outer edge. The same on the other side. This looks so bad, please blur it out, omg! Going back to the other eye, grabbing some 'Boutique' on a small brush and using it to deepen the lash line and apply the shade right there. And the same in the other eye! Once again, where is this color? as if it were confused with nothing! So that's the full eye look I guess. I'm going to add off-camera mascara and lashes in just a second, but I want to go ahead and finish the face using a few other shades from the palette like I normally do before giving my final thoughts.
Although you can probably already guess what they are. As always, I'll give my face a light spritz of the Morphe Prep and Set Settings spray, to prepare for the highlighter. Grabbing an M501 brush and dipping into 'Face' on my palette just above the brow bone as usual. I'm going to tuck a bit of that just below the brow as well. Clean M501, dipping into the 'Face' tone. I'm already a bit freaked out because this shade is so much darker than the one in my palette, but let's see how it works! No absolutely NO- OWH YOU'RE KIDDING Not only is it not as close as blinding to the other side, but it's also too dark as I thought.
As you can see when I look ahead you can literally see the dark orange right there where on this side nothing is just skin tone BAM THIS IS NOT GOOD Last but not least you guys know my trick all time favorite with the palette grabbing a blush brush this is the E4 and dipping into the shade 'Literally' the metallic shimmering pink we have right on that lid and using it to blend the highlighter and blush shades for a beautiful touch of pink oh, so pretty! And then finally another E4 brush, dipping into 'Literally'. Wish me luck!
Oh my gosh, I literally don't even want to do this. So now you want to be pigmented(?) No, no, no, absolutely not. Of all the times this palette has had a chance to be pigmented, take your pick right now(?) You are literally kidding me! Alright sis, I'm going to put on some lashes and a lip to finish off this look and I'll be right back. Alright guys I just put on some lashes these are Lily's lashes in the "so extra Miami" style. on Kylie Liquid Lipstick in the shade 'Better not pout' to finish off this cranberry smokey glam.
Alright guys and I think this is the end- oh. The fake palette literally has the same message, written in white. The real palette literally doesn't even have that. I'm realizing this right now. As I was saying, I think this is a real vs. fake makeup challenge, all completed using... my palettes. Looking at the two different sides of my face, there is definitely a big difference in how the look turned out. I said at the beginning of the video that I really wanted a deep cranberry smoky glam, perfect for a holiday party. And I was definitely able to achieve that on the left side of my face using the royal palette 'Are you kidding', 'Code James' and 'Boutique' blended so beautifully in the crease and 'Shook', 'Literally' and 'Sister' with a twist. of glitter liner on top blended so beautifully on the lid for a truly amazing transition.
Now, on the other side of my face, I will say that the shadows were not horrible, they definitely had some kind of pigmentation in them, but as you can see, I definitely did not get a cranberry smokey eye. This is a much more orange shade and the deep tones didn't really go as deep as I wanted them to be and were extremely difficult to blend. There is still a significant jagged area on this outer edge and every time I tried to blend a metallic shade into this outer corner, the shadow would literally disappear. Regarding the actual swatches, you guys saw it live at first, these colors are definitely a swatch, but not as beautiful as the original palette colors.
Many of these are super super chalky and have literally no pigmentation. Honestly, it's like... ♪soft background music♪ hmm I don't relate, I mean, I feel like at this point, the winner of this competition is obvious. It's pretty obvious that I may have a bit of personal bias here, but I'm definitely going to declare my original palette, Victor Santee Alley Sweetness. I'm so sorry, but it doesn't compare in any way. Normally I would say "it's the idea that counts", but the Morphe team and I put over a year of work, time, love and ideas into this palette and the idea counts...in sales.
As I said at the beginning of this video guys I am incredibly grateful for all your love and support with the launch of my palette. I can't believe it's sold out over and over again! However, I promise you it is a permanent fixture and will keep coming back. If you haven't been able to get your hands on it yet, please be patient and I beg you please do not fall for any of these scams or bogus palette listings. Although it may look very similar, you are just not getting the same result of color and pigmentation, blendability, and god knows what ingredients went into these. like I said, there have been so many horrible items and finds of the most disgusting things in these factories.
It's so horrible that people are taking advantage of you. I don't want your sisters' hard earned money to go to God knows who is producing these lollipops and more importantly I really don't want you guys to get hurt. Please note that the only place the palette will be available is at ULTA retail stores and online stores or Morphe and online or any other approved Morphe retailer, that's it.
