What's going on, guys? Welcome back to another video and today we are going to do a modification that I said I would never do to a car badge so we are going to do it right now where we are actually going to change this whole front

for zl1 1le so stay tuned we bought this car about a week ago when we were already changing the OEM

. The reason we do this is because I think this bumper looks a little too soft, while the zl1 looks extremely aggressive. Also on the zl1, when I leave the bumpers on, it actually adds the functional air cooling that comes with the zl1 1le package.

You'll get a little more airflow into our radiators, make the car run a little cooler on the track, and look tougher while doing it. which is unreal, okay, here you can see how much more aggressive this bumper is. I love it. Removing this bumper should not be that difficult again. I've said it before and it's taking me five hours to do different projects, but I really think this is just a few clips, we have the car raised so we can move the wheels back and forth, it's some bolts inside the fender liner, There are some bolts underneath and some bolts on top should come off relatively easily, shu-kun. wall rule two, we'll change it and we'll change it.

It's actually a direct tune made by Ikon Motorsports. The only thing you guys can't do is not buy an OEM zl1 bumper because it is at least half an inch wider. You'll have to go with an aftermarket option, so if you're thinking about taking a takeoff and can't do it, you'll have to go with the Icon or American Authority, trade it in for your car. We're dealing with a It's much easier to show you exactly where the bolts are that you need to remove to remove the SSV bumper by showing you on the new icon the one-on-one seal on the bumper, so you'll have one, two, three bolts placed correctly.

Here you will also have a bolt that is here and then sitting right on the top, which you will need to take out of the top half of the car and you will want to remove the fender liner from the car. itself has access to these bolts, it will only take four of those clips to remove the fender liner and then you have to unscrew the rest of these, so it's very easy to do once you've removed the fender liner. Look exactly where those bolts are here is our zl1 1le bumper and the reason we are actually making this change is because it looks extremely aggressive compared to the SS on the bumper here, but we also track our car quite frequently and these hoaxes here in this opening they actually go directly to our, you know, directly to the radiators that are optional on the zl1 one le package here, even with the SS, so again we're going to get additional cooling for both radiators right there. upgrading to zero one one le bumper and again I think this is going to look fantastic on the card so we completely changed the front and it looks extremely bad going forward so now what we're going to do is we're actually going to be swapping the harnesses just so we can keep our side markers there.

We don't need any of the other balances, so let's just tape them down. What's really cool about the bumper icon here is that it holds the entire assembly together. points for your harnesses to run along the bumper, so we're going to go ahead and essentially just pull each of these out again, we have a tool to do that, pull each of these out and swap them right in with the SS zl1. bumper replica and again, like you can see all the mounting tabs here, okay, so we're going to go ahead and swap everything out, so what we're doing now is we're transferring all the clips over that.

the bumpers, we have one, two again, these are these metal support clips, we'll also need one up here, once we do all that, we'll be ready to go here, what we did is we actually have. the transferred harness is really easy to do all you have to do here is actually tape off the fog lights or daytime running lights just to make sure no water gets in and you don't want any water to get into your system electrical and cables at all, so just tape it up, make it simple, make it easy and wrap it around itself like we did here.
Oh yeah, we're ready to go, so we're going to go ahead and transfer all the remaining clips so we can go ahead and rebuild this bumper back on the car. Greetings guys, so we go ahead and transfer one of the OEM parts that's sitting here again. These clips will clip directly onto the SS. One OE 0 1 SS. bumper, so we're going to go ahead and secure everything in there, these bolts that are supplied with the kit will actually go straight through the top here and screw in underneath to make sure everything is locked in, so again it will look a little cleaner.
I'm very glad they included this piece, it looks similar to the zl1 1le front fascia. I'm going to go ahead and epoxy finish the canards to make sure they don't fly off when we are. We're on the road or track and we're going to go ahead, ream the bumper and finish the

install

ation. It's really cool to show you what we have to cool on the SS one of the package again, which each one of These don't exactly ask me, I'll post later, but for now all of these had additional cooling for the car to make sure they don't get overheat on the track and is specifically part of the One Le package, usually. you have a radiator here, you have another cooler there, you have a

radiator right in front and they have another one here in the duct, so looking at the car compared to our arrest, we literally have four more coolers in the RS that we had in stock and then It's concluding that the aftermarket is a little bit fresher as well, so this car is ready, built and configured for the track, so while we take it off, we're about to go ahead and mount our new bumper.
Here we are an epoxy, some things. down to make sure it doesn't fly off the track and then we'll go ahead and finish the installation so in my infinite wisdom we're going to skip the epoxy so we were going to skip the epoxy. Joseph came up It's a really good idea originally, these clips were mounted on the OEM SS on the bumper with basically a pass through that, so we'll reuse that hook on the back of the cards to mechanically lock them in place, so that we don't have epoxy so if we ever need to change them something breaks we can do it right so what we're doing now is the ducts don't fit the SS 1 elite variant so what we're going to do is remove those ducts, we'll figure out in the future how to go ahead and direct all the air into that radiator as best we can for now, we're going to go ahead and remove those ducts, make sure.
The bumper fits well and we assembled everything to install it on the car, so this is the last piece we need to finish the entire bumper installation. These are the caps that actually go on the end of the spoiler and what I'm going to do to install that back. I've got some self tapping screws right here and don't worry, that's not what's going to hold me in and you'll see here in a minute, so you've got these set screws I'm home. They can actually be screwed into the side of the print here, which will make it extremely rigid to make sure it doesn't come off the car, or what fun us self-packers have is basically punching holes in the plastic so we can get the next one.
Setting this up will make it a little easier to get through and not fumble through the whole process, so this is as simple as it gets except you already have the holes drilled, all you're going to do is just place it on the side here and it should stay up again, so once it's up though, what you need to do is drill the three holes and then you're done with the whole bumper installation.
