Once you click the link in the description below or go to wpcupidblog.com/go/bluehost you will be on the Bluehost home page. You will see the Get Started Now button on the page. Click the button. This is where you can select your hosting plan. You will see four different options. You'll see a Basic plan, a Plus plan, a Choice Plus plan, and a Pro plan. I recommend going with the Basic plan, and then you can always scale up whenever you want. If you have more than one website, you'll want to choose the plus plan or the choice plus plan.
I would recommend upgrading to the Pro plan as well in the future once your blog goes live and starts generating a lot of traffic and income. I'm going to choose the basic plan for this tutorial since it's the most common. Go ahead and hit the radio button on the plan you would like to use. We are now taken to a domain page where we can choose the domain name we want completely free of charge. Or if you already have a domain name, you would enter it on the right. For the new domain, you can select if you want it to be .com, .net, .org, etc... .com is the most popular domain extension, so I recommend choosing a .com if you can.
I'm going to write a domain here and click the next button. You are now taken to a page to create your account. This is where you will enter your information. We have first name, last name. The business name is optional. Please put your country address information. Please enter a phone number and lastly the best email for you as a payment receipt and a copy of your login credentials etc will be emailed to you. Below you will see the package information. You will see the chart of account. This is where you can select the term for your hosting package.
You are 12 months, 24 months and 36 months. As you can see, you will save money the longer you buy your hosting. I am going to select the 12 month package. Domain registration is free. Home SEO tools can keep unselected. This plugin will submit your site to search engines and provide a report on your site rank and keyword rankings. Submitting your site to search engines can be done for free. This is not necessary to have. Office 365 Email Essentials is the Microsoft Outlook email software that is commonly included with Microsoft Office.
If you choose a theme now, you can always change the theme you choose without any problem at a later date. I'll talk about this in more detail, later in the video. Once you choose your free theme or click skip this step, you'll be on the page here that says you're all set. Click the button that says start building to start building your blog on WordPress. Once you click on that and log in, you will be in the WordPress dashboard. This is what the WordPress dashboard looks like. It will ask you some questions as you can see.
If you don't need help, just click the No Help Needed option. Once you do, you'll see this page. You will see blog posts where you can add new blog posts. You will see where you can add new pages to your blog. If you want to change your navigation menus, you can easily do it and if you are going to sell products on your site, you can install Woocommerce to do it. On the far left, you will see tabs. Hover over them and learn them. Posts is where you can add new posts. Pages is where you can add new pages.
The media tab is where the images you uploaded to your blog will be displayed. Comments is where you can see the comments that people leave on your blog. Plugins is where you can install plugins for your blog. Just about any customization or feature you want there is more than likely a plugin already built for it. Appearance is where you can change the look of your theme or change your theme to another or a Premium theme. Select Themes when you hover over the skin. It will display free WordPress themes for you to choose from. If you select the most popular, it will show you the most popular free WordPress themes.
Hover over a theme and click install and then click activate to make the theme your WordPress theme. You should also see add a new topic on this page. This is where you can add a new theme if you got it from another site or it is a Premium Theme. A great resource that I have used for several years and recommend for professional WordPress themes that look like an award-winning design agency that did your blog is Themeforest. This is Themeforest's WordPress blog theme page. You can easily browse premium WordPress blog themes. Click on them and get a live preview of the themes as you can see here.
Here are some examples of Premium WordPress themes that are already pre-made for you to enter your information or change; as you like. You will see that they are very good. Click the link in the description below to check out Themeforest. At the top left of your WordPress dashboard, you'll see welcome here or your site title at the top of the page.
