I'm going to give you a ton of useful resources to help you get started with your blog towards the end of the video, so stay tuned. The first step I'm going to cover is how to choose and register your own domain name for free. To have a blog you must have a domain name. Step 2 I will explain how to choose a hosting provider. To have a blog you must have hosting.

Step 3 is to set up your blog for free with today's most popular blogging software. The blogging platform is WordPress. If you want your blog to rank, achieve success, etc., WordPress is the way to go. This is where you can select your hosting plan. You will see four different options. You will see a Basic plan, a Plus plan, a Choice Plus plan, and a Pro plan. I recommend going for the basic plan and then you can always upgrade whenever you want.

If you have more than one website, then you will want to choose the plus plan or the Choice plus plan. I would also recommend upgrading to the Pro plan in the future once your blog is up and running and starts generating a lot of traffic and income. I'm going to choose the basic plan for this tutorial because it is the most common. Go ahead and press the select button on the plan you want to use. Now we come to a domain page where we can choose the domain name we want completely free of charge. Or if you already have a domain name, enter it on the right.

For the new domain, you can select whether you want it to be .com, .net, .org, etc.… .com is the most popular domain extension, so I recommend choosing a .com if you can. I'm going to type a domain here and click the next button. You will now be taken to the page to create your account. This is where you will enter your information. We have a first name, a last name. The business name is optional. Enter your country address information. Enter a phone number and lastly the best email for you as you will receive a payment receipt and a copy of your login credentials etc.

Below you will see the package information. You will see the account plan. This is where you can select the term for your hosting package. You are 12 months, 24 months and 36 months. As you can see, you will save money the longer you purchase your hosting. I am going to select the 12 month package. Domain registration is free. Let's Encrypt SSL is free. Codeguard creates daily backups and allows you to restore your site with the click of a button in case something happens. There are free alternatives that work the same. Home of SEO tools that you can keep unselected. This plugin will submit your site to search engines and provide a report on your site's ranking and keyword rankings. Submitting your site to search engines can be done for free.

It is not necessary to have this. Office 365 Email Essentials is the Microsoft Outlook email software that is commonly included with Microsoft Office. If you want your email to work with this Microsoft plugin, feel free to leave it selected. This is not necessary to have. All of these add-ons are completely optional and it is up to you to obtain them. As you can see, you are saving a lot for this hosting package. Next, you will enter your payment information. I will not complete this to protect personal information. Once you have filled out your information, you want to select I have read and agree to Bluehost's privacy policy and terms of service.

Now click on the submit button. You will now be taken to a page where you will choose a password for your Bluehost account. Click the create your password button. Enter the password you want. Click I have read and accept Bluehost's Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions and click the Next button. You will be directed to a congratulations page. Click the blue login button to log in to Bluehost. Bluehost will also email your control panel login information to the email address you provided at this time. Now you will see choose your theme. Bluehost has a ton of amazing free WordPress themes to choose from.

You can select a theme now if you want too or under Themes you can click skip this step. If you choose a theme now, you can always change the theme you choose without any problems at a later date. I'll go over this in more detail later in the video. Once you choose your free theme or click skip this step, you will be on the page here indicating that everything is ready. Click the button that says start building to start building your blog in WordPress. Once you click on that and log in, you will be in the WordPress dashboard.

This is what the WordPress dashboard looks like. He will ask you some questions as you can see. If you don't need help, simply click on the No Help Needed option. Once you do that, you will see this page. You will see blog posts where you can add new blog posts. You'll see where you can add new pages to your blog. If you want to change your navigation menus, you can easily do so and if you are going to sell products on your site, you can install Woocommerce to do so. On the far left, you will see tabs.

Hover over them and learn them. Posts is where you can add new posts. Pages is where you can add new pages. The media tab is where the images you upload to your blog will be displayed. Comments is where you can see the comments people leave on your blog. Plugins is where you can install plugins for your blog. Almost any customization or feature you want probably already has a plugin created for it. Appearance is where you can change the appearance of your theme or change your theme to another or a Premium theme. Select Themes when you hover over the appearance.

It will display free WordPress themes that you can choose from. If you select the most popular ones, it will show you the most popular free WordPress themes. Hover over a theme and click install and then click activate to turn the theme into your WordPress theme. You should also see add new theme on this page. This is where you can add a new theme if you got it from another site or if it is a Premium Theme. Click the link in the description below to check out Themeforest. At the top left of your WordPress dashboard, you will see here the welcome or title of your site at the top of the page. To log in to your WordPress dashboard, you can do so through Bluehost's CPanel or by typing your domain name with a forward slash wp-admin. Here is an example. This page will appear here. Simply enter your login credentials to log in to WordPress. Another great resource that is useful and used by more than 500,000 users is the drag and drop editor called Elementor Page Builder. The Elementor page builder makes it easy to start and create your WordPress blog. You can make edits by dragging and dropping. Find the Elementor page builder on the plugins page, install it and activate it if you want to try it out.

Elementor has a free and paid version. I have provided a link in the description so you can check and compare the features of the free and paid versions. Another great resource to check out is Fiverr. Fiverr is a great place to get assignments done for just $5. It's useful if you need a logo or something done.
