How to Pack a Carry On (Tips from a former flight attendant)

ing, so the first thing I do is correlate how many days my trip is versus how many outfits I'm going to need, so if I'm going on a seven day trip, I'll need seven outfits, so for clothes, I start with the clothes you'll want choose. about three pants, four if they fit, but three pants and about four or five t-shirts.

Now when I travel, I usually make sure all my t-shirts are thin fabric and then I bring layers in case it's cold or rainy or whatever. but we'll get to that later, so I start with the basics from top to bottom. I start with my pants because they tend to be the thickest in fabric and then if I'm wearing similar coats or whatever, I'll pack it at the bottom like Okay, so make sure you roll your clothes. I know Marie Kondo says to put on the kimono kun AMI, you know the method, but I'm telling you, I've traveled many days and rolling is the way to go if you want to fit the most items. of clothes in your suitcase as possible so what I normally do is bring three pairs of shoes so that I can wear a pair of formal or casual shoes a pair of sneakers for travel days and if you are going on a hike or whatever now These shoes you'll wear at the airport to save space in your suitcase and then usually a pair of boots in case it's raining or you're in the snow or whatever, bring some boots because you might need them all.

The next thing to do is clothing, toiletries and makeup. This one is always the hardest for everyone because there are so many rules when it comes to TSA and plus most girls want to bring all of their makeup, hair accessories, and stuff like that. we have the curling irons, we have the hair straighteners, we have the hair dryers, we have the shampoos and conditioners, the list goes on, but it starts with the needs, so the shampoo and conditioner get a small 3.4 ounce bottle, fill it with your favorite shampoo, your favorite conditioner. or just use, you know, the little containers from hotels and bring them with you, so what I like to do if I don't feel like

ing my little silicone gear because sometimes they can take up a little more space than I like.

I'll just take the shampoos and conditioners from the hotels and bring them home and every time I go on a trip I'll use them, the thing is I have a lot of hair so usually, you know, I'll just use them. I will sacrifice space for other necessities to include your razor, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, medications, and anything else you deem necessary for your hygiene routine. The next thing I do after everything is set up is to separate my liquids from the solids and make sure that the makeup you want to bring if it is liquid must go in your liquids bag, otherwise they will stop you at TSA and make you throw it away if You don't have space in your makeup bag or toiletry bag.

So for makeup, my rule of thumb is to try not to use as much as possible. I know it's hard because when you're traveling you want to take good pictures, you want to look presentable, you know you want to have something you know how to wear. there what I do is instead of my you know big here I'm going to show you instead of bringing these things I'm just going to bring some BB cream and that's going to take me a long way so that saves a lot of space and then I try to use powders like this I don't know if I want to bring more makeup, I don't have to put it all in my toiletry bag, so now that we have all of our toiletries, now let's move on to our once this includes makeup, hair accessories, jewelry, etc. ., for electronic hair gadgets, I don't know what they are called, most hotels have hair dryers so you don't need to bring one, what I try to do is the day before the trip.

I will style my hair and it will last about 2 or 3 days, I will bring your dry shampoo and then for the rest of the trip I will bring a hair accessory that you can style your hair with, so what I do is I bring a styler and this allows me to curl my hair and straighten it this is the GHD styler it's amazing I love it it's not sponsored but this is the way to go so for accessories like jewelry keep it simple I usually only wear very delicate jewelry but I know some people I like to go big with earrings and bracelets and all that, try to keep it as basic as possible to save space.

You're going to need to check your bag and you say why why and she says the overhead compartment space is completely full so we're going to need you to check it and you're all over it but I have important things in there and she's all I need.

Sorry, I don't know what to tell you, but we'll be rolling in about two minutes, so now you have two minutes to transfer what's in your personal bag to your carry-on bag and vice versa. to solve it and they are closing the door and you are going crazy, just trust me, keep all your valuables with you at all times, another reason why you want to pack your valuables and keep them with you at all costs, have you ever made? I put it at the bottom and then pack up all my stuff, like my electronics and my important documents, as well as my laptop. and iPad or tablet my camera equipment my chargers for my phone my laptop or iPad my camera and any power adapter one of my favorite power adapters is this docking power adapter I know it looks huge but it has about 4 or 5 charges, so when you're traveling, that's like a lifesaver, especially if your phone dies quickly, which at the time mine did and honestly, it's not that bulky. I mean, I really like it and it fits everywhere.

It is very thin, so there are different sizes. but this is the one I chose because it has the longest battery life. Then I have my headphones, my extra batteries for my phone and camera, my books or a book, a journal, and a sweater. I usually wear socks if I have space. lipstick of course a sleeping mask a neck pillow for longer flights and some earplugs that's it and you know you can pack you know whatever you want to pack you don't have to pack everything that I packed, but just showing you how I pack and how I plan my bags in advance because it really helps you when you take that extra time to think about what might happen that day of travel and I've had cases where my checked luggage in the door was lost somehow.
