How to make Videos for Business: Content StrategyApr 06, 2020
ok let's cut to the chase, the biggest hurdle to creating video for your
businessis the drum roll, fear the point, end of story, fear of equipment, don't know what kind of equipment to use, don't know what kind of camera to use. you're not a videographer you have no training in this you should invest in a $5,000 camera fear number 2 is the fear of editing it's the technical stuff seems too complex you're too overwhelmed you don't have time to learn 3 fear of being able to execute you just don't have the time and you don't have the resources, so how are you going to create a video for your
business? 4 this is probably the biggest fear of looking stupid you don't want it to look low quality you don't want to sound dumb you hate the way your voice sounds on camera the way you look into the camera that's probably the biggest fear okay well this is what everyone has those fears when they start making
videoswhether it's for their business or for fun d I had the exact same fears but video has changed my business and that's why I'm a huge supporter and a big advocate for you learning how to use it and do it effectively and efficiently so you're not wasting your time trying to learn all the little tricks of the trade and that's why I'm here because I've done
videoson how to edit and I have a cheat sheet video editing software that will guide you through the entire process.
I also have videos on how to be great in front of the camera and I have a video that explains exactly what kind of gear you need to get started and surprisingly it's really just a smartphone and that's it and I have a link to all those tutorials below of this video so I can check them out later and if you want to see what my shooting setup looks like again it's very simple and recently on snapchat I did a little behind the scenes tour of what my setup looks like so check this out and I told you. guys before that i used to tell you in front of my window because as you can see right now the lighting is pretty good so this is my old filming location in my bedroom or i would film in front of this window in my living room because you can see that it's darker if you look the other way. but actually really cool natural lights it's easy to
makea foam setup so if you want to start making videos for your business all you really need is natural light on a smartphone I swear that's all I've used.
I use my webcam sometimes but for the most part it's my phone and a window this is my new little setup so this is my home office um cite there and then I have these two lights my webcam it depends on my computer so it's not a huge space at all um and you can hear there's a little bit of echo so i have a mic to fix that but it works so if you like a little spare bedroom come on to the lair that's what it is you can use lighting it's from cowboy studios and there's also another light called a diva light which is pretty cool so yeah that's actually my setup for filming youtube so aside from those things, what is the number one thing you need to know when it comes to making videos for your business
You know you'll get the most ROI if you're thinking strategically about your
content, so that's what today's video is all about. Here are the top three types of videos you want to
makeso your business gets the most return on all your efforts and a little side note: These video
contentstrategies can be used on all social platforms, from Snapchat to Twitter to Facebook. Regardless of the type of video you are creating for any type of platform these content strategies apply to all of them, the first type of content is thought leadership content this allows your audience to think of you as an authority it gives you credibility and also makes your audience trust you a little more I'm a big fan of ins Ted's old school saying always be closing deals always be closing deals I like ABV always adds value so this allows you to offer a value in a variety of ways, so thought leadership content may seem like an obsession with questions and answers, it could make r this. on a live broadcast on periscope and you might really like that i said do this on any platform so A signals are a great way to offer your authority on a specific topic and also to engage with your audience and build those relationships .
Another great option for this is by focusing on trends in your industry or in your business what are some of the biggest questions going on in your business right now what are some of the biggest technologies that people are using what kind of things you can rally around that people in your industry or your audience want to know so pay attention to trends and other content you can do for thought leadership is advice so just like this video it's just a video of the talking head. ra and you can do the same for any question related to your industry or some type of skill or tactic that you want people to know that you have implemented in your business and that it has worked very well the second type of video that you should be creating for your business they are social proof videos so these can be user generated so people using your products or services if they are creating their own videos on all platforms and are excited about your products or services please use them and ask them if you can use them in your own marketing
strategyyou can also ask people to submit their own testimonials or you can set up an actual filming location where you bring a group of customers and ask them questions about their experience with your brand which is a great way to build community and also show other people that your products and services are super valuable and this is how it is affecting them pos positively and another great way to offer social proof is to build positive brand sentiment which you can also do through your own company culture so get your own employees talking about what it's like to work for you what they think of the company brand why they want to work for the brand and all your morals and values that go behind their business, that's a great way to show the rest of the world that you're an amazing company and when you're an amazing company people want to buy from you.
The third type of video for your business is very important and it is a product or service. self explanatory video basically what this means is whatever product or services you offer make sure you create really good and detailed tutorials on how to use them why use them and how they benefit people's lives. So part of the reason you want to do this is that you're controlling the narrative because whether you like it or not, people are creating videos all the time or they're tweeting or writing Facebook posts about your products and services. so this allows you to control the narrative a bit and make sure that people get the most out of your products and services by using them in the right way and another advantage of creating a product or service video about your brand is being able to optimize the content, for video is 53 times more likely to appear on the first page of Google than other types of links or reviews, so if you're creating highly optimized video content about your brand and about your product, it will appear above the content user generated so again that allows you to control the narrative and you should be the first thing your customers or prospects come across when their research starts looking into your product or your brand online so those are my top three types of videos. you should be creating for your business I hope this saves you some time, some stress and some effort and the reason I'm so passionate about creating videos for your business is because I joined this YouTube channel nine months ago and the effect video content has had on my business is hard to even put into words.
I increased my reach exponentially. I've created authority in my face, which has resulted in talks and interviews and all that. types of things and it's also created this incredibly engaged community across all of my social platforms and another amazing advantage over creating video content specifically on YouTube is that it's been the number one way I've grown my list in the last nine months my email list So, and it's a specific people type.
