Well, here we are inside FL Studio and the first thing we are going to work on. It's the melody because it's the most iconic part of this sound, so with the melodies of these rhythms at a minimum, you're going to have essentially two things: you're going to have a very shiny abrasive type of pad and then I'm also going to have that sliding portamento, so in I'm actually going to use two pads for this. I'm going to use one expansion and one hybrid three and I'm basically going to layer them on top of each other, but I'm going to show you the type of sounds that you want to look for, so I have hybrid three here.

More Interesting Facts About,

how to make rage type beats in fl studio...

I actually made a little preset for this, but I'm going to show you how to make your own, so basically you're going to want something that sounds like this, so I got this kind of sound by just picking a random preset pad and then I went to the first oscillator and did it. I switched to square sink and then with the second oscillator I turned it into a saw wave, the third I left it. disabled, but if you want, you can turn on the third oscillator and turn it into a square wave or a saw wave.

It's also important to mention that you don't need a hybrid to do this to get this hybrid sound as a 15-plugin, but you can do this with anything that has oscillators, you can do it in citrus if you want, basically just make it the default preset and then do it like this, convert it into a square wave and then with this one you can convert it more into a saw wave and this one. will work fine, you can also use a triple oscillator or whatever else you want to use, but wait, there's more, there's one more very important thing you need to do if you want to achieve this kind of sound, so what you need to do is basically go to where it says sense or you know, depending on what you're using, it might say detune if there's a d2 knob, you just turn the d2 knob down, but basically you just want to drag the sense down a little bit to get a really nice sound. kind of out of tune sound with this, so now that we have this, I'm going to start building some chords with your tempo.

You probably want to have it between 140 and 160. Obviously, it's completely up to you, but that's the general range. of these rhythms, but when it comes to your chord progression, you want to have some chords that sound very full, so you'll definitely want some 7th chords, maybe even add some 9th chords if you're feeling a little fancy and more than that. There's really not a lot of specifics about what you should or shouldn't do when you do the chord progression because I feel like what really catches people's attention with these beats is that little slider and lead thing that I'm using. to show you how to do it in a minute, so yeah, I'm going to do a quick little chord progression and then I'll get back to you, so I just made this chord progression, it sounds like this super basic, it's literally just three chords, this chord and this chord are the same, except one of them is just an inversion.
I did it to give it a little bit of a different feel and then we also have the bass notes of the chords here. and basically you just hold down Ctrl Shift and then select these, then Shift, click, and then press Ctrl, and then press the arrow keys. Now that we have the chord progression, I'll show you how to make the most of it. A big part of this video is the sliding lead part, so what you're going to want to do is look for a square wavy lead part that you want to have a little bit of a harsh sound to it but you want to have a little bit of a different feel to it. from the pad so something like this would work well something like this would work well it doesn't really matter what cable you choose it just matters that it fits well with the pad you already have and also don't forget to detune just a little too but you don't have to choose any type of portamento sliding cable that you know specifically within your plugin or anything because what you're going to do is once you've selected which cable you want to use. you're just going to come in here and play like two bars or four bars of c and you want to keep the speed pretty medium and now once you've got your soloist playing c for as long as you think you need to, you're basically going to take out the solo and then you're going to go to your master track right here and then you're going to click on this little dot and now what you can do is press alt and then r and then click OK and everything and it's going to export it as just an audio file from time to time, you're going to have this inside from the channel rack and personally what I like to do is take this and drag it here and the reason I do that is because for this one you can see there's only these two tabs and this one doesn't really do anything other than this one over here , when you drag a duplicate, it adds this tab here that gives you an envelope and you have control over the pan and the pitch and everything, and I just like that. a little bit better because what I usually like to do is turn on the envelope and then do the attack all the way down, up, this, down, this up and this down, and this basically gives you full control over any sound you hear. you're using, so even if it's two or four measures long, no matter how long you've done it, once you stop playing the key, it will stop too and now what you want to do is go into the piano roll and see what notes you play. you have inside your chords, so at first you basically just want to start with one note and you can just put a note here like this and then you want to press s on your keyboard like this and now this gives you a slide note, so now it's basically going to slide from this one to this one and obviously that's the type of sound we're looking for here, so one important thing to know about these slide notes is that the length of the actual slide note affects how fast you'll slide into that note, so that the way it works is that the end of the slide note here is the point at which it will actually be the true note that is playing, so in this case, that's pretty strange in this whole slide note actually it doesn't even play if it's basically everything between that e and that if, so no matter how long you continue with this original note, it's still going to play this note if on top or whatever other note we want to slide to. be able to do things like this and then obviously go through these two notes as well, but with the slides here you probably don't want to do it as often as this, you'll probably want to leave it hanging on a specific note for a while. while and then have the slide come in at several different points, so something like this is probably fine and then obviously continue with variations of that pattern, nothing too crazy, nothing like this happens, if you want you can do this if you like the way it sounds it's all up to you and how you like it to sound so I'm going to play around with this a little bit until I get a main pattern that I like okay so I have This is happening in this moment sounds pretty good, so the sound that I'm going to overlay the pad with sounds like this and as you can hear, it's a very bright, very big, classic type of pad sound and you can probably find a sound like this on pretty much any plug in now before adding any extra sounds im going to do the drums, the drums are really simple on these kind of beats, theres not much you have to do if you want a pretty distorted sounding zetovin 808. you know the classic that probably everyone has and then you want to use a clap that sounds like this or this snare here and then for the hi-hats you can pretty much use any hi-hat you want.
It doesn't really matter, I'm just going to use it as a pretty basic trap hi-hat, so with your clap and snare it's going to be a pretty basic pattern that everyone knows and loves, where you have it pretty much like this and then with your 808. It's going to be pretty simple pattern, nothing too crazy, but the one thing you want to make sure you do is this here because the 808 just has to slap you in the face. You have to turn the volume up to 11 for this. but from this point it's pretty easy, all you have to do is copy the root notes of the chords and just make a pretty simple pattern and now for your hi-hats you basically have two options, you can just fill in every other. follow the standard procedure like this and then you can keep it like this and add some rolls or something that works well or what you can also do is add a kind of choppy pattern, basically you can keep it like this, it's totally up. for you, just a variation of this, what you could do is just press complete every other step and then get rid of the ones that don't sound good for the type of stuttering pattern, so you know, do something like this so honestly on In this period, we're almost done, there's not much else that usually goes into these beats.
Obviously, maybe you can add an open hi-hat in there, if you want, maybe you can add some percussion sounds, which is totally up to you. The only thing I'm definitely going to add is a couple more melody sounds, so if you kept it like we have it now, it would be perfectly fine and you'd pretty much be done with this entire tutorial. So as far as laying out the beat, all you really have to do is make one of these where you put the melody at the beginning as an intro and then you don't even need to add a crash or a riser or anything like that. obviously you can if you want, but basically just play the melody at the beginning and then do one of these things that I would definitely recommend so the beat doesn't get too repetitive, maybe remove the slider beat at certain points So maybe like here or something like that and then take a little break or something, bring it back in and then just add another 32 bars and then you know 16 bars at the end and just fade them out and you'll be pretty good. and that is one of the easiest designs you can make.
As for mixing, you'll probably want to add a little bit of reverb to each of the sounds and then I basically always put an EQ on each one. and each melodic component so we can EQ the frequencies that we don't need and for this you don't want to remove a lot of highs because I'll show you what happens if you do that when you start cutting. It takes out a lot of the treble, gives it a very filter-like sound, and takes out a lot of that harshness that we want with this type of style, as you can hear, so we want to keep as much of that treble as possible. finish as much as possible, but anyway I hope you enjoyed this video today, this one is pretty simple, there's not a lot of crazy stuff going on here, these beats are honestly very simple to make, but I think they sound pretty good and everyone else they seem to think.
Also because it's a very popular style right now so yeah anyway I hope you liked it, let me know if you have any questions in the comments below.
