How to Make Candy Floss Cotton Candy

May 30, 2021
To celebrate reaching five million subscribers on my YouTube channel, I decided to try to build a

machine and to do it I'm going to use this little desktop farm that runs off a USB plug and the fan has a power on. and off at the back I started by unscrewing the screws on the front grille to take a look inside, then removed the screw holding the fan blades in place to reveal the motor housing, which attaches to the fan backplate with these three screws here so I undid those two to try to remove the motor when I lifted it off the back plate you can see the wires for the power cord and the switch.

I was hoping to be able to disconnect these items so I could easily remove the motor from the fan housing, but unfortunately the wires are soldered, so I cut the heat shrink to reveal the solder joints and then used my iron to disconnect the components. The engine is now free. I can remove the switch from the backplate and press. Using the power cords to

our can defrosting machine, I'm going to place our motor on top of this plastic peppercorn container. I removed the label, then removed the top and used a knife to carefully cut a hole in the middle.

To be able to run the motor cables like this, I then used a screwdriver to

three small holes which lined up with the mounting holes on the back of the motor housing, then screwed them on using the original screws and now I can put the cover on . Back to the container with the motor attached, however, I want to reduce the height of this container so that it sits a little lower. I used some masking tape to make a straight line and then cut it with a sharp knife to make it about seven. centimeters long, the cover on the engine is still perfectly placed and now everything is a little shorter.

Now I want to mount the on/off switch on the side like this. I used my soldering iron to make a hole towards the inside and then fixed it with a knife so I could attach the switch. I also made a hole in the bottom, the other side will be for the power cord. I pushed the wire free, pulled a wire through the switch hole, and slid in some heat shrink. I re-soldered the switch, installed the motor and soldered it together, and fixed it with some heat shrink. If you didn't want to use solder, you could simply cut the wires to remove the fan components and then reattach them.

Using connectors I can now reconnect the motor, plug in the USB and make sure it is working to make our sugar grinder. I'm using a coke container that I cut in half with a knife and fixed with scissors so it looks like this. I then used a screwdriver to punch a hole directly through the center of the base and then I'm using a needle and a pair of pliers to make a series of holes around the base of the can, like this, I'm holding the needle with the pliers They should be kept away from the sharp edge, if you prefer you can use a pin.
I'm using this to make a second line of holes, but if you're going to try this, be careful not to cut yourself on the sharp edge. of the can when ready it should look like this. Next I'm using the original screw from the fan blades to attach the spinner to the motor. Plug it in and test it and it's not perfectly balanced but everything will be fine. I need to place this in a container. You could use a dishwashing bowl or a large saucepan, but I'm using this medicine and cutting a small hole in the bottom for the power cord to attach the motor.
I applied some double-sided tape to the bottom and mounted it in the center of the truck like this, then ran the cable through the hole, placed it near a USB outlet and started the engine so I could easily start it with just Plug in the USB Connector and remove the cable to turn it off. Next we need to prepare the sugar syrup to pour into our centrifuge, so I measured out about a cup of granulated sugar and about half a cup of water which I poured into this thick bottom. In a metal pan, put it on the heat and let it boil.
You will need to let it bubble for a few minutes until the mixture starts to turn a beautiful light brown caramel color. You should notice that it becomes thicker and a little syrupy. At the next party you might want to wear safety glasses as we slowly pour the mixture into the spinner and you can see it makes our instant

great huh, we get these amazing very fine sugary strands, almost like cotton , if we stop the roulette. And take a look, you can see that the centripetal force throws the sugar syrup through the holes we made in long thin strands, but unfortunately when it cools it solidifies and makes the spinner useless, so I unscrewed it and washed it with a little warm water. water I decided to use my pin to make even more holes in the spinner to encourage it to make more cotton candy and I'm also using this small screwdriver to make some of the holes a little bigger and I put it back on the motor and tried it with a new batch of sugar and it worked great, giving us this delicious, fluffy cotton candy.
The centrifuge filled up with sugar again so I gave it another quick wash and a dry which really doesn't take long. of course make a few different spinners and wash them all together at the end, this time it made a lovely big disc of candy, cool eh, which I removed all in one and added to my stick. It is important that the sugar syrup be at the proper consistency for this batch. I didn't hit him long enough. You can see it didn't even start to brown and when I poured it into the centrifuge it looked like it was working but it just wouldn't solidify and we ended up with this gooey mess. sugar residue stuck to the inside of the trout, so it is very important to get the right consistency of sugar for it to work properly.
I wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who subscribed to my channel, five million is a colossal amount and I really do it. I appreciate all your support. I'm going to celebrate with some cotton candy. Have fun, stay safe, and as always, thanks for watching.
