how to list your first product on amazon seller central beginner tutorial 2021 part 1

first

Amazon account. Well, the first thing we need to go ahead and do is create our Amazon

seller

account. Now an Amazon seller account will allow this. to list products, sell products and it's actually just meant to host your store there on Amazon so simply all we have to do is go to Google and type Amazon seller registration and it will look for the first link that is not an ad which is actually here, you can also access this web page by going to the description of this video and I put a link that will take you directly here before we go ahead and sign up for our Amazon seller account.

More Interesting Facts About,

how to list your first product on amazon seller central beginner tutorial 2021 part 1...

I want to point out one thing, one mistake that is very easy to make for many

beginner

sellers on Amazon and that is the register button right here, so if you go ahead and click register, it will already tell you below that they are going to do it. I'll charge you 39.99 a month plus any selling fees, which is normal, but the thing is, many

beginner

Amazon sellers, including me, made the same mistake: they don't know that they are actually two seller-type accounts, so which in the US there is a professional account and there is an individual account.
how to list your first product on amazon seller central beginner tutorial 2021 part 1
If you go ahead and click the orange button that says sign up, you'll immediately sign up for the Amazon Pro account, which you probably don't want to do otherwise. new to the service on Amazon and not entirely sure if this will be for you, so the professional account is 39.99 a month and now you get unlimited sales for the individual account, you only pay for the sale you make and what paying Amazon is a flat 99 cents regardless of the selling price of that product for every sale you make, so if you make a sale on a product, say this iPhone SD case, say we sell it for ten dollars if we use an individual account.
how to list your first product on amazon seller central beginner tutorial 2021 part 1
I'm just going to pay those 99 cents to Amazon to use that account. I recommend using the individual account, starting that way you can make sure you like the sound on Amazon, that it is profitable for you and your business and that way they don't just channel you. paying the 39.99 each month if you are not going to use it if you are looking for more information on those types of accounts, I will put a video on the cards above that you can watch and it will tell you everything you need to know. about those fees and everything associated with those types of accounts and then you can make the best decision for you, so for this account I'm going to use the individual seller account which is actually hidden in a sense down here between two sections, and so you can see that Amazon is clever.
They want to make sure you sign up for their professional account and not the individual seller account unless you know it, but luckily for you you do, so between these two sections click on this. Sign up to become an individual seller if that's what you want to do and that's what I recommend doing when you start again. You can always become a professional seller. This will take you to the email and password page. Here you can use an existing email address. that you already use for your Amazon account that you use to purchase products that are shipped to your house, all it will do is take that account and link it with a new

central

seller account that way you will have a combined use for that, I recommend using that same account or you can continue, you can create a new email, maybe your company email, and put it here, so go ahead, fill in those details once you have created your account, you will be taken to seller

central

Amazon. page now this is going to seem unknown and we're not going to jump to it right now.
I want to cover one thing before we start adding your product and that is what is known as a gtin or global trade item number. It's a barcode that you normally see on the back of products, so for example, here's a notebook. I'll put a picture there right now so you can see, but it's the barcode and the serial number that's on that barcode and that's a requirement to sell on Amazon, so what you need to do before you even include your product listed is to purchase one of these barcodes and I will show you exactly how to do it.
Now there are many different types of global trade item numbers, but the most common one that you will recognize is your upc, which we will use today, which is your universal product code, it is recognized worldwide, which is why it is one of the most popular, if you are selling a book, you're going to go ahead and use the isbn which is your international standard book number and then if you're in europe use the european item number the ean and for japan use the jin or the Japanese item, they are all the same unique product identifier, however, it's just going to really be up to you what you want to use for your product and for your business, so to look at how you can purchase these barcodes, there are really two ways to do it.
The first and most credible way to do it is to go to gs1. .org, this is actually the largest organization that sells these barcodes and they are the most reputable. Amazon will tell you that you need a gs1 certified barcode and they will route you to this website. Unfortunately, what happens with gs1 barcodes. is that it is very expensive, as you can see from this price table here, you actually buy them in quantities of 10 hundred 1 000 10 000 and so on, so you can't just buy one, you have to register for at least 10 starting from Now that upfront fee is really just an upfront cost to purchase it and that's 250 for the first 10 barcodes you get now, obviously the more barcodes you get you'll see a discount on the price;
However, again, it is not cheap. all and if that wasn't enough to buy this barcode you will be signed up for an annual renewal fee so even if you buy them today in a year from now you will renew them and pay that 50 fee if you will sign up in 10 of them, so as you can see, this is very expensive, however, it is the most credible way of doing business. I recommend it if you have a product that you are going to sell for a long time. Go ahead and get 10 of these, it will eventually pay for itself and you'll have fewer potential headaches each time.
Go ahead and list your products now the second way, the cheapest way, and honestly, probably the preferred way if you're a beginner. The seller must use a third

part

y service, so here is one that I have shown previously in some other

tutorial

s. It's called barcodes. I've used them before, especially when I first started, and have never had any problems using their UPCs. You can see that you can scroll down some of their prices so you can purchase a barcode. You don't have to go ahead and buy 10. That barcode costs about five dollars which is substantially cheaper than what gs1 offers and the reason they can sell them so cheap compared to gs1 is because all of these barcodes They are recycled, so prior to August 2002, as you can see here, all barcodes were actually given to the person who purchased them and there was no renewal fee. there is no membership involved in this so what third

part

y services like barcode mania go ahead and buy these old barcodes and then recycle them and sell them to you at a cheaper price and with these codes of bars there will be no annuity? renewal fee, so it's very very cheap, it's really up to you which service you want to use.
The last thing I want to mention is a common question I get and that is how many barcodes do I need for my product, so let's say for example, if we are selling this single product, it is a single product and we are selling, let's say, 200 units to start now Does that mean I need 200 barcodes or does that mean I only need one barcode for all those units? The answer is that for each unique product you only need one barcode, so if I sell 200 of these, I only need one barcode and I will put that barcode on all 200 units, if that is not clear already make sure to join The patreon group and I can explain it in much more detail.
Okay, once you purchase the number of barcodes you need, let's go ahead and add our first product. Okay, now we're up and running, so what we're going to do now is we're going to add our first product and we're going to start on the Amazon seller center home page. This is actually your control panel. Shows you what's happening with your balances. How many open orders do you have? It's actually just the hub page that you start on, so what we're doing here is using my test account to add a product and we're going to add that iPhone case now.
To do so, the first step you must take is to go to the catalog. tab up here and click on add products this takes us to this page here now it is very important this step here is to differentiate yourself if you are selling an existing product that is already on the market that is already on Amazon or if you are going to be Selling a new product for me in these iPhone SE cases, it is a new product, it has my brand, so no one else is selling this product. If you're selling a product that's already available, you know it's already on Amazon, all you really have.
What you need to do here is type in that product, so let's say we're selling Otterbox iPhone cases, so we type in Otterbox iPhone cases and we'll just say that immediately a bunch will appear on this page and all we have to do is find that case that we're selling and then you have to go to the right here and it will say a couple of different things if you have to apply to sell that product it will give you a button here apply to mobile we get into this here in a second otherwise It will say sell this product and all you need to do is click to fill out your offer information for how much you are selling it for it is as simple as that now I am sure I piqued your curiosity about what this apply to sell thing means, basically it What this means is that if you want to resell a product that already has a registered trademark, you will have to apply to sell it, so you will have to submit an approval request to the brand. owner asking them if you can sell that new product if you are selling a new product or you are the owner of the brand, you will not have to request the sale, you can go ahead and create your listing, that is what I am going to show you are here right now, so let's take a step back and since we're selling a new product, we can go to the bottom here where it says I'm adding a product that's not sold on Amazon, once you click that you'll be taken.
For this, select a product category and so what we need to do is for our specific product, find a product category from the product department in which we are going to sell it on Amazon, as you can see here, there are many different ones that you can browse, there is one thing I want you to keep an eye on and that is the lock that is here, like requesting to resell a brand name product. You also need to get approval if you want to sell in some specific categories, as you can see. I'm not going to go over them all here, but you can see that some of the product categories, like groceries, jewelry, music videos, etc., you actually have to request approval, so what you'll do is go to Most Likely ask for approval and submit your request here, although you won't have to, it all depends on the product category, so we'll come back here and instead of navigating here, it's actually a lot easier and a lot more. efficient with your time if you go ahead and search for that product category we're selling iPhone cases, it's usually easier to just type in the product and then it saysAlright.
Seven matching categories were found. What I do at the moment. find the category that best represents the product that I'm selling and for me it's probably going to be this basic case as I'm just selling a clear case so I'm going to go ahead and click on select this category and once you click it you're brought To the main page here, what we will do now is review the vital information and we will review the variations that structure your offer and add images for your product list. Well, the first is your vital information. This is really your unique information for that specific product.
The first question you will be asked is really the most important. What is your product? ID, let's go back to remember the gtin of your global trade item number. You went ahead, you bought it from gs1 or you bought it from Barcodes Mania or a third party and now you have to copy and paste that number here once you add it here. you need to make sure you click on this dropdown and it will ask you what specific product id you are using. I bought the upc. You may have bought something different and go ahead and select it's important to note that this one has a lock below. and that represents that this field, this entry cannot be changed after clicking save and finish, so for this product, if I want to change the upc again or change the ean, whatever it is, I can't do it after Click save and finish, so make sure you get that number from the beginning.
Next, we want to go ahead and add our title. You don't just want to make something very generic and simple like iPhone cases. You want to make sure that you have something specific that ties back to your product and also appeals to customers potentially scrolling through your ad there, so we'll go ahead and add our title here. It's this sample title that I just created and pasted here. It goes over all the different iPhones this case is compatible with and also gives an idea of the type of material used, the color, and some unique features like anti-scratch technology.
The next thing you want to do is go to your brand if you have a registered trademark. mark, you want to make sure you include it here; You don't necessarily need a trademark if you're reselling a product or have your own product, but it's definitely the most credible and reputable way to do it. I have a trademark for eci, write that here and that's all you have to do now. If you just want to sell something as a generic brand, you can write generic or just say not applicable, either will work. for you, but keep in mind that your product is not branded at the time and may not be as attractive if it were branded when a potential customer sees it, so we'll leave it as eci for me. manufacturer who actually made that product, did you create it yourself?
If you did, you can go ahead and put your brand here or whatever you really want. If someone else made that product for you, you can go ahead and put it here as well and then. You will be asked for your manufacturing part number. This again is something that is completely up to you. It is a way to organize your product. I usually only put one to keep things simple. Well, that really sums up the vital information you need. you need to go ahead and place for your first product listing the next tab on the right up here, as you can see, they are variations for this tab.
You want to ask yourself a very simple question: am I selling more than one of these products in different variations? So a variation for this iPhone case would be a different color or perhaps a different material for this example. Suppose we are selling two different variants: a blue sc iPhone case and a yellow one that is identical to this one, and if you still need it. Learn more after watching this short segment on variations. I have a longer video that you can watch that I'll put on the cards right now. Well, the first question you would ask yourself is what type of variation you want to add. it's just the color, which is what we're going to use for this example, it's the different sizes, maybe you're selling t-shirts, so you have a small, you have a large, you have a medium and then you can also have combinations of variants, like this you might have a small yellow t-shirt and you might also have a medium blue t-shirt, but we're going to keep this simple for this and just recolor.
I mentioned that we have two different ones and since we're just doing color, we just have to type in the color which is blue and yellow and then once you've typed in all the different variants, click on add variations and a different tab will pop up down here and give you will ask for additional information. and this is actually just the vital information we included at the beginning for our main core products; however, for these secondary products we also need to go ahead and add that information. What you really need to keep in mind is the identification of this product.
I mentioned before that you need a barcode for each unique product. In this case a new variant is a new unique product so for this blue iPhone SE case I still need to go ahead and buy your own unique barcode so go ahead and add it there and add your upc select which is a upc and you also want to describe what condition it is in, if it is used or new and then add the price so 9.99 and then the quantity you have, let's say we have 25 of these and The last question you will be asked is not mandatory , but you can complete it here.
It is the color map that is actually used for the search capability. Simply write in blue. Go ahead and do the same with the same one below. Alright guys, that's the end of part one here on how to list your product on Amazon. I decided to split this video into two different segments due to the amount of information I'm giving you. It is a lot of information and it would be a lot. for a video, so keep an eye out for part two if it's not available yet and again, if you've had any questions up to this point, be sure to leave a comment below or join our Patreon group where I can help you. in one create your listing start your Amazon store or anything like that, okay I'll see you all in part two
