How to get Eagle Scout - Camping for Scout Requirements

Feb 18, 2020
hey guys matt will meet up here in another video and today will be about my update on status of an

eagle

scout

in just two years so in this video i will go over the camp

requirements

for ten two foot second class first class and in case no you know what those ranges are Tenderfoot covers basic information on cooking tools for

camping

first date etc. and that's just some of the basic knowledge that you should know about those topics and then the second class goes a bit in detail it's a bit more advanced because there are more things you need to do or the

requirements

are more detailed than what you need to do and then the first class covers the same information like

camping

cooking tools first aid etc except those are the really specific things he wants you to do i know it takes longer to do and i'm working on first class right now and some of the things i need to do or have done is camping so tender food requirement 1a in camping and outdoor ethics says introduce yourself to their leader prepares for an overnight camping trip shows the right way to pack and carry your camping gear 1 B says spend at least one night at a patrol or troop campout and sleep in a tent you helped pitch 1c says tell how you practice code outdoors at a campout or outing , there are other things you can do like they are more cooking related but one of them says i want to camp demonstrate the proper method of cleaning items safely but that's theirs they are usually done in a campsite , but that leans more to the cooking side, so i'll talk about that in another video, moving on to class 2 and 1a on camping and outdoor ethics. outings or activities basically means anything besides a troop meeting, like a hike or backpacking trip or a bike trip, but it says three of them need to be at a campsite, so there's a place to stay overnight and a ten you throw or the structure you helped you ruined i just slept it sent because tents are easy i mean if you know how to make them 1b says to explain the principles of Leave No Trace and say how you practice them in a camp or hike but it has to be different from the one used than the Tenderfoot 1c requirement in second class one sees it say in one of the camps select a location for your patrol site and recommend to your patrol leader explain what factors you should consider when choosing a patrol site and where to pitch a tent and again there is more about cooking but some of the things are usually done in actual camping as one of them says please explain when it is appropriate to use a fire for cooking or other purposes and when it wouldn't be appropriate to do it and that's 2a and there are a ton of others that are usually done in a campout but moving on to top class camping and outdoor ethics 1st class since joining take part in ten separate troop activities/ patrol, six of which include overnight camping these ten activities do not include troop or patrol meetings at at least five of the six campsites, staying overnight, and a tent you pitch or other structure you expect to have represented, so which is similar to the first one than the second class one except that instead of five patrol activities you need ten one B says to explain each of the principles of walking carefully and say how you practice them when camping or going out it has to be different of the ones used for ten different requirements 1c and second class the requirement would not be so what i did was ok if you are not going to meet these requirements you need to go at least three separate camps because the requirements say they need to be different from the others used in the other ranges the only exception is the outdoor camping ethic one says more since joining part in someone so separate company/patrol activities that doesn't mean ten more or five more , it just means overall so for the second class and it means five of them or first class overall means ten overall so you only need five more you get what I'm saying and just like with the second class and Tenderfoot, there are also some things in the kitchen so one of them is like showing what pans and utensils and other equipment will be needed to cook and serve these meals that are in plain view and i literally say in a campsite serve as cook and you are supposed to that you have to make a breakfast, lunch and dinner so that's something you can do but like I said at the beginning the first class has more specific stuff so under Tools it says three watch a demo of how to tie square ties and transparent diagonals by joining two or more poles or staves and then after 3d says use those tie downs to make a useful camping gadget or build a regular camping gadget so when you were doing this requirement we built a flagpole , now there are some things to do with fire in 2nd class it's to see and be our R for fire so cooking in 2nd class tools says to use the listed tools and tenderfoot 3d requirement do you prepare tinder wood in wood for a fire from a cooking lot to see it says in an approved outdoor location use that kindling kindling and kindling to demonstrate how to start a fire so those are some of the things you can do at a campsite related to cooking and camping most things are with camping so I hope you enjoyed this video, if you did please like the video and turn on notifications on this channel and check out any other videos I have related to rank advancement for an Eagle Scout and me. see you in the next video bye
