How to Emotionally Manipulate Your YouTube Audience

d. Recently, Anthony from Smosh released a video explaining why he was leaving the incredibly famous Smosh YouTube channel. I just hope that being honest with you and explaining how I feel and how I have felt helps you understand. I'm not going to say I was upset in the wrong way. It's very interesting to see a perfect case study of a YouTuber manipulating his audience. Now manipulating an audience is something everyone does.

YouTube is a unique platform because the entertainment you are watching when you watch a YouTuber is a person talking to you or at least that's how it feels, it feels like it's a person you know someone you're friends with because you know them, but they allow you to see them and we have seen many examples from people like Casey. Neistat, who spoke, hey, this video I'm showing you isn't exactly my real life, it's a hyper-edited condensed version and similarly, I feel like this video Anthony posted isn't him lying. All in all, I don't think he's lying about any of the things he feels, but I do think he's exaggerating things for an audience so they understand how he feels.

It's not necessarily an inherently bad thing, but it's something I believe. People should be more aware that when I watch this video I see so many signs that someone is trying to be

emotionally

honest with their audience, but in doing so, they are putting this false emotionality on top of everything they say, everything Anthony says. in this video he is so intentional and with purpose and soul that it seems fake because he is the one who is acting, it is hard for me to admit that it is finally happening. I'm not saying I'm not sad that he left the company.

I'm not saying I won't miss working with his friend on a YouTube show. All the things he said in the video are probably true, but he presented these feelings and thoughts in such a calculated way that it doesn't feel genuine at all. I forgot to point out the fact that this isn't like a spontaneous little video, Anthony, I mean that guy didn't just wake up out of bed and say, hey, you know what I should do, he's got his makeup, he's got his makeup? His hair is well lit and yet he does it as if he hadn't prepared what he was going to say, even though he definitely did.

There are other videos like this that have received criticism such as Ingrid, what is his last name? Ingrid Nelson as Ingrid. Nelson Nelson, there are other YouTubers like Ingrid Nilsen who made a video on YouTube about something very serious, something he wanted to share with people, but the way she chose to share it was again very calculated and feels so fake again. I'm not trying. Saying she hasn't had a hard time dealing with people who were mad at her for being gay or anything, but what I'm saying is that some YouTubers choose to present important information in an overly dramatic emotional way for people to watch.

Wanting to look anywhere else you've been for a long time or avoiding eye contact is a fairly well-known non-verbal sign that someone is being dishonest, so if someone has difficulty looking directly into the lens, there's a chance that not necessarily that they are lying to you but that they are not being 100%

honest with what they feel. I understand this. I know I've done it several times.

I have had several videos on my YouTube channel where I have talked about things that meant a lot to me. When you make a video like this, you open

self up to the world, but YouTube is a pretty difficult place, there are a lot of people who say really nasty things about you. I don't want someone online to hurt me, they're anonymous, they can say pretty much anything they want and the words hurt so I understand why everything is so calculated, yeah that's what it is, this whole thing feels incredibly rehearsed . like they had thought of every little thing they were going to do.

I'm afraid that another thing to look for is strange breathing and strange breathing.
