I wouldn't use wax as it could discolor the paper. Now all we have to do is add Marilyn and we're done. This is the best part. I measured each drawer and strategically cut the

poster

into four. pieces being mindful not to cut out the eyes or mouth and marking the center point of each drawer, I then applied Mod Podge over the entire drawer and used a brayer to smooth out my first section of the

poster

. Marilyn is not cooperating today so yeah and there were birds when I put it on it was very clumpy even with the brayer there were a lot of air bubbles and then I tried to press it down and then I smeared gunk all over Marilyn's forehead this time , I think we will remove it from its background so that there is less surface area.

We'll try it again because I think if it turns out it'll be really cool and if it doesn't it could still be cool, who knows. We're just going to wing it and to top it all off, the day before Halloween I'm at Michaels and they don't have another sign so I had to drive to another Michaels that was 30 minutes away and they didn't answer the phone. and then when I finally got through they said they didn't have it but it was almost there so I went in and they did have it so here we go to round two here's a close up you can see all the bubbles of air and the wrinkles even look like Marilyn is crying, so now it's time to scrape off the paper and try again.

This time I measured and cut out Marilyn from the bottom of her and then traced her silhouette on the dresser making sure she lined up correctly instead of trying to. To glue the entire piece at once, I attached each quarter in small sections, making sure the first section was completely dry before continuing. This way the paper will not slide and will align correctly. It's also important not to apply too much Mod Podge while keeping your squeegee clean so you don't get uneven glue marks on the paper. I really like the squeegee tool instead of the brayer.
It worked well to push out air bubbles and you can find it at the craft

right next to Mod Podge I. I applied a top coat of Mod Podge using two separate brushes, one for the paper and one for the painted section. I was worried that Mod Podge would reactivate the paint and bleed into the paper and she told me this time it worked, it's tricky but if you follow the instructions you can do it, I removed the original hardware and just went and bought these simple knobs, two of These are for a dollar fifty at the hardware

.
I'm going to paint them to match the dresser and I'm going to cut out some of the extra poster and

decoupage

it here. I removed the original hardware and painted the wooden knobs to match the poster design because I had some left over from the first poster. I cut out matching pieces and decoupage. Place them on the knobs where the design was overlapped using e6000 glue and a toothpick. I added a rhinestone chain that can be purchased on my website on a vintage bracelet to Marilyn's dress and wrist. The last step is to add the knobs and you're done if you want.
