How LA Knight Became the Next WWE Megastar
Aug 31, 2023Over the past year, many WWE Superstars have seen their popularity skyrocket under the rule of Triple H. Sami Zayn has become a main event player due to his feud with Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, while he had already skyrocketed to new heights by capturing the world heavyweight. Hell, even Judgment Day has become one of the company's most dominant and dominant factions after its first few months of questionable bookings, but none of them have broken through as organically as perhaps WWE's
next
top star, The Knight, with which they have been compared. in many ways to rock with his promotional style and natural charisma making him a must-see attraction for WWE fans.My name is Grisha from wrestlerology and with Knight's popularity now on the rise, I think it's time we take a look at La Knight. career in WWE to see how the once overlooked talent
became
today's mega star. Additionally, this video covers La Knight's entire WWE career. If you guys want to know more about Ellie Knight's backstory before WWE and her days on the independent circuit, be sure to go ahead and leave a comment below and I'll make that video in the future, but before I get into Lna's current success in WWE, we should look back at his time in NXT, no, not his comeback career, which we'll get into in a bit, but rather his first stint with the company in 2013.He signed a developmental contract that generally is used as an enhancement talent or dark match fodder prior to its release in 2014. According to Knight himself, this was noted as a professional issue, but because of that release, Knight traveled the independent circuit before heading to Impact Wrestling like Eli Drake and there Drake showed how great he was for WWE by capturing the Impact World Title and slowly winning over fans with his charismatic in-ring presence. I'm sure there weren't many people watching Impact at this time, but the fans who were watching an artist finally showed his potential with his promos and catchphrases that helped him surpass the fans and after winning over the fans so much on Impact as in NWA in 2019.
Knight would finally get the call back to WWE and with him finally getting a second chance at success, Knight decided to take advantage of it, as we all saw on the day of revenge of the NXT acquisition, here he debuted as a cocky heel with the new ring name La Knight who promised as Many have before him that he will be the biggest star in NXT and to help fans see how good a
knight
he can be, he inserted himself directly into the NXT North American Championship scene , approaching then-Champion Johnny Gargano, however, he is not the only one. one who wanted a title shot, the entire NXT mid-scene at the time wanted to make their mark with the North American Championship, future stars like Bronson Reed shunted Scott and more, everyone saw the title as a launching pad to the roster major. and they all went to war for a shot at the championship on night one of Stan's takeover and Ellie's surrender Knight participated in a six-man Gauntlet match and night failed to defeat eventual winner Bronson Reed, sure That Knight could have lost this match, but this Spotlight helped Knight find his footing before his first big event seen in the company.Prior to that match, one of Knight's opponents, Cameron Grimes, was in the midst of a character turnaround, becoming the richest man in NXT. Cameron would brag about his finances. The wealth in the stock market and all these riches attracted the legendary Million Dollar Man, Ted DiBiase, to the black and gold brand for a few weeks, every time Cameron looked to buy something shiny, DiBiase would swoop in to buy something even brighter. Grimes was obviously insulted by this and tension would rise between Grimes and the legend, meanwhile, during that time, Ellie Knight would continue to rack up wins before everything came to a head on the May 25 episode of NXT.
Knight would interrupt a segment between Ted and Cameron looking for DiBiase to join. him as her guide through NXT, this obviously infuriated Grimes even more when she decided to wage war with DiBiase's new right-hand man at Takeover in your house, but she didn't just want to defeat Night, no, she also wanted to embarrass DiBiase to To add insult to injury, the match saw DiBiase personalize the Million Dollar Title belt hanging above the ring and after about 10 back and forth action, La Knight climbed the Golden Ladder to capture her first championship in the company, once again Grimes was unsuccessful in overcoming his rival as Knight and DiBiase had left Grimes in the dust, but with Knight now securing his legacy with a legendary Million Dollar Championship firmly around his waist, his need to a manager was practically done, so he attacked DiBiase in the first following episode.
Your house after all night certainly didn't need a spokesperson and the association between them, although the fun had quickly outlived its usefulness, however, Grimes was not satisfied with his loss in your house, so he ran and chased Knight outside. of the ring and with Grimes he now completely establishes himself as a good guy with the save with which he would heroically seek a rematch during the night at the Great American Bash, unfortunately for Grimes, although Knight was once again able to obtain the victory for free in a way very convincing, but this loss was much worse for Grimes according to the stipulation of the match Grimes would become a good personal butler, so Cameron Grimes not only had to lose to La Knight in a second consecutive PPV, but he was also forced to work under his rival in a humiliating manner, but this made Grimes even more of an annoyance to his rival, as this only gave him more opportunities to annoy his now new boss, either by accidentally throwing him into a pool or He hit his boss's balls with a golf club.
Grimes
became
an equal. A bigger problem for Knight Grimes even had DiBiase there to help him in his plans, so a rematch was announced. Knight agreed to defend the Million Dollar Championship against Cameron Grimes at NXT Takeover 36 under the condition that Knight could defeat Grimes once again. then Ted DiBiase would have to replace Grimes as Knight's personal butler this time, however, Knight would end up losing his gold strap to Cameron due to Ted dvrc's interference, but after this huge loss in both the match and the fight, Knight would return to NXT alone. suffer another loss to the debuting Next Big Thing Braun, before quickly beginning his NXT feud with Grayson Waller, although it may have started under less serious circumstances with Knight defeating Waller to become the host of the upcoming NXT Halloween Havoc event. The fight quickly became more personal. Knight pitched this match and felt disrespected by Waller's arrival to NXT at almost 40 years old. Knight felt that he had to work hard to get to WWE, while Waller, a much younger star than the night, was practically handed everything in a piece of land. dish and perhaps the fans agreed, in addition to following Grayson Waller's turn, Knight would end up changing faces that same night after an attack by Waller and after a segment in which Knight teamed up with some of the other babies. Pure faces in NXT like Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Champa, their turn to the light was confirmed and Knight would actually join those same competitors at the upcoming War Games event.
War games, yes, the carefully curated future of NXT 2.0 versus the angry veterans who helped build NXT black and gold the years before. Team NXT 2.0 in Grayson Waller Braunbreaker Carmelo Hayes and Tony D'Angelo took on La Knight Johnny Gargano Tomaso Champa and Pete Dunn and after a brutal war inside the War Games cage, it was surprisingly Team NXT 2.0 that came out on top. who emerged victorious after a big power slam from Braun over Champa, but this would not be the end of the night's rivalry with Waller, as Waller continued to make a name for himself by attacking some of WWE's biggest names like Johnny Gargano and AJ Styles Knight would find himself out of action after an assault by Waller, but after a few weeks away, Knight returned to vent his frustrations on Waller and after a few weeks of promos surrounding Waller's temporary restraining order in La Night, the two would finally get their hands on each other at the NXT roadblock in an unfortunately Last Man Standing Match, though Knight would lose both this match and this match after a huge top rope elbow from Waller via of his opponent's chest and the announcers' table and Knight would continue to lose as his time with NXT quickly approached.
Knight would lose his NXT Title shot following a superkick from then-champion Dolph Ziggler, but this title match only seemed to anger perhaps the most dominant superstar in NXT at the time, Gunther, after all. and Gunther's defense, why should Knight get a title shot when all he has done is lose in NXT and through this the two began a few that lasted only a few weeks with Knight again suffering a loss during his last match in NXT in the ring? General in the Stand and Deliver takeover, but while many, including Eliana himself, might have been worried about his future in WWE, fans were left more confused than anything about his
next
venture, the good news is that he was recruited to the main roster and was finally given the chance to shine. On the big stage, the bad news is that this came with a repackaging, yes, because La Knight didn't have enough character according to the higher-ups. If Titan Towers Knight had been repackaged as a manager named Max Dupree, he would act as the leader of a modeling agency that valued the looks of guys like Mace and Mansor above all and with the addition of Max's k-fabe sister, Maxine. Dupree, the group was rounded out by the name of top male models, yes, someone with as much advantage and talent as La Knight felt a little wasted in this position since the group did very little for months and on the September 30 episode of SmackDown, especially after Triple H took over WWE creative, Max left the group behind before being quickly repackaged the following week with his old character in L.A Knight, however, while Max Dupree was transitioning to
megastar
La Knight, a brooding presence would return to WWE, yes, after being fired a year earlier, Bray Wyatt would make his long-awaited return to the company as he instantly became WWE's most popular star, but Many fans were left wondering what Bray would do now that he was back, and to the surprise of many, Bray decided to turn his attention to La Knight after Bray showed up tonight during a backstage interview. He gaped her as usual until Bray nailed it. them with a headbutt and this pattern would continue for the next few months. Bray and his new uncle, hello mate would continue trying to get a
knight
's head only for Knight to continue talking trash, in fact it seemed that Knight would amplify his disrespect every time he was attacked, whether through him parodying the Bray's cult leader's old gimmick or simply slapping the unhinged Wyatt in the mouth, the feud even boiled over and involved the now retired Undertaker at Raw 30 with Taker helping attack Knight in the ring, eventually the feud would culminate at Royal Rumble 2023 in the now infamous Mountain Dew sponsored black match.Bray walked to the ring covered in glow-in-the-dark paint as the two men fought in this mix of darkness and colorful lights at the end. Bray was able to get the job done with Knight once again suffering a loss, however the action didn't stop once the bell rang as the two continued their fight towards the Sound Stage, there Bray dropped Knight with the jaw claw. before the mysterious uncle. Hello, the figure was launched from the top of a raised platform across Knight and the floor beneath the area exploded upon impact as Bray watched in Delight. I also have a video I recently made on Bray Wyatt if you want to go ahead and watch it.
Basically, about his entire WWE career and what essentially went wrong, but despite the strange ending to this match, the rivalry with Bray actually ended up being a blessing in disguise for the night via this high-profile story, Knight He was able to establish himself more on Smackdown. In addition to giving fans a taste of his skills if they hadn't seen him in NXT, this match with Bray was really the first taste of what people could expect from him and while there are many who don't look back, this I see that favorably there were moments of brilliance in Ellie's night here, in fact, in a strange way, Knight carried this rivalry on her back with her incredible charisma and performance despite easily being one of theWWE's most popular superstars at the beginning of this.
At the end of the fight, it was Knight who saw his popularity rise as fans got to see what he could really do and fans would see this over and over again despite losing seemingly every match for months and months despite being a heel. in the popularity of Smackdown Knight. would start to skyrocket due to his natural charisma and mic work, every week he would walk to the ring with more and more fans screaming and supporting him and in the lead up to the Money in the Bank pay per view, Knight was so white. Interestingly, fans believed he would end up leaving the show with the Money in the Bank briefcase and, despite playing a major role in the final bow sequence, it was Damian Priest who would emerge from the ladder to be the winner, somewhat than many, including me.
I think it was probably the wrong move and they should have given it to La Knight, but we'll have to see what happens. Ellie Knight is a very fascinating case these days in WWE EU despite the constant defeats both in NXT and on the main roster. has still seen her popularity rise everywhere she has gone, even before her return to WWE in 2021. La Knight was spicing up the independent scene due to her innate charisma, as many fans have noted, Ellie Knight feels like a star of the Attitude Era brought to the present day. WWE, has the fan support of Steve Austin, the mic skills of The Rock and the larger than life charisma of Ric Flair all rolled into one.
A little older, sure he's 40 years old, however, There are still guys like AJ Styles who are still competing like he did a decade earlier and he's 46. So Knight still has quite a while before he has to hang it all up and within that time we could for sure see some exciting work from La Knight could it be one of the main stars? Could he be a WWE Champion? Could La Knight become that
megastar
he labels himself? And that's just a reality. Subscribe if you enjoyed it and thank you very much. to seeIf you have any copyright issue, please Contact
