Guys, welcome back, it's Racer X and today I have a pretty interesting little video plan. In fact, I'm back with my friends here at Hearst Autoplex in Hearst Texas and you might remember I actually did a little video not too long ago where I showed you a couple of their cars, they had a Demon, they had a Viper, they had a lot of stuff. really interesting, they had a really cool red eye, now they have a couple of those here too, but today's one. a little different. In fact, I want to make a small change here.

I'm going to review a couple of their cars, mainly the Camaros. I know you guys are obviously a big Mopar fan, but I like all the cars. I am a big sports car enthusiast and they have a 1 le version and a

regular

version of the zl1 and one is a ten speed and the other is a manual and I am very excited to review these two cars to show you the differences between the two and it should be a fun and exciting little video for me too guys if you're new to the channel and like the content make sure you hit that subscribe button right down there in the corner and here we go we got the horsepower hello.

So this Hirst Autoplex is really cool, it's almost like a boutique E-type dealership and they have a lot of really cool vehicle specials for guys like me, so you can see they even have pickup trucks. Here they have big lifts like F-150 Platinum, they have Raptors, all kinds of different trucks, and of course they have a lot of really cool sports cars. I've seen a GTR there. I saw a 2014 Shelby. I mean, they have a lot of really cool stuff here, so whatever your taste, this dealership is fantastic and their customer service is really

too, so I want to give those guys a quick shout out before I start, so check. this here guys, I'm actually in the Hurst Autoplex showroom and look, they have a Z r1 here that is just beautiful.

I love this car and guys, as you know, I'm a big Mopar fan, but you guys I want to talk about that, beautiful specimen. I've always really liked Corvettes and this is as bad as it gets. You may have seen our friend Street speed seven-one-7 and he has a car like this in his car. It's always running that thing, but it's just a beautiful car and they also have a very stylish looking zo6 back here, it's a 20 19 in that new color, so I'm talking about beautiful Corvettes here just because they're in the meat of these as well. two zl1 Camaros, the cool one behind me here is actually the Le version and then you have the zl1, the

regular

ZL one package here, both cars are absolutely beautiful now the package costs you a bit. a little more and I want to cover some of the differences in these two cars.

In fact, I'm going to drive these two cars a little later and tell you my thoughts between the two, but as you can see, the first thing you look at on one of these ZLs, is how big the grill is, I mean, look, I want I mean, that fool is sucking in a lot of air, he looks very, very bad and then look at the Le version that I can see here behind me, look at the hoaxes, if you want, I mean, just the arrow on this thing is absolutely crazy I mean, for the money I have, I have to admit that the ZL1 One package is as bad as they come.
When you're talking about a car you can get in that $6,070k range, you're talking about serious road presence, but these two cars are actually a little bit different from a narrow perspective, so I want to get into that a little bit. So here's another look. When you look at the regular ZL, you can see what that splitter looks like on the front and then we jump here to be an L II Michelle. I let my shadow get in the way, but you. I can see it being a much deeper splitter and then of course you have these extra pieces here for the shaft to keep the front of the car pinned to the ground and this is more of a track or circuit focused car.
A le versus this one is more of a street warrior and they are both fantastic vehicles so one of the most notable differences between the regular Camaro zl1 and the

camaro

1le is the wing on the back so this is our regular zl1 here you can see it. It's got a really nice spoiler here that goes down a little bit to give you a certain degree of what it looks like, but then when we jump to the first one, things change quite a bit and this is the highlight. This car when you look at it from the back, but look at the spoiler on this side, it's something else, it actually moves quite a bit forward and you can see that it's actually carbon fiber, what a beautiful spoiler on the back.
I mean, this one has an aggressive look. Car guys, this isn't necessarily for everyone, this thing is more of a scalpel type weapon rather than a more everyday driver type like the other zl1, very specialized under the wing, it's pretty similar, but the wing is very noticeable when Look, when you see one of these LE cars, there's no mistaking the wing that looks crazy, but I like it, it's cool, so one of the next things I want to talk about is the difference in tires between these two cars. So here we have the normal zl1. This is a 305 with tire.
It is actually an eagle. It's an eagle supercar. It is a normal street tire. 305 and its width is really fantastic. There's a lot more meat under this car than you would otherwise have. Let's say like a Hellcat with a 275, a non-widebody Hellcat, but it's a 305 and this is a regular Goodyear street tire. The tires on the one le carré are significantly different and here we have the one le car and this one. The tire is significantly different, actually it even looks different. It's really like a cup tire that you would see on some of the high-end Corvettes.
This is a 325, yes, 325 with a tire on this thing, guys, so this one is actually smooth. wider than what you get on the regular CL and the tread pattern is significantly different, it's just a completely different tire. This is made for track work versus street work like the other zl1 and you can really see it when you look. The two cars, these two tires just have a completely different presence and look like they serve very different purposes than what these two cars were built for, even though they are essentially the same platform. Now I want to point out that the transmissions in these two cars are different. but both transmissions are available in one and one le packages, so the red car here has an automatic transmission.
In fact, I would like to go ahead and show you what the inside of this car looks like and As you can see, it has red stitching, it has suede type leather seats, here is actually a very nice place to sit, guys, this car is really nice inside, a little tighter than, say, a Hellcat would be, but in the back. The seats, of course, as you know, are quite small, but in terms of driver comfort it's fantastic, you've got this steering wheel here that's flat-bottomed and has a nice suede feel to it. You'd see it as maybe a demon or something if you're a Mopar guy, but it's actually very sharp.
You can see the type of carbon fiber type finish that it has on the interior. Here it can be a little hard to see but really very nice inside I love the red seat belts and the other car looks almost identical but as you can see this one is automatic and the other one is manual and here we have the car you can see It looks almost identical on the Inside it's a little different and then of course you have the six speed manual transmission so what's in the heart or what's the power plant like in a Camaro zl1?
Well these two cars actually have the same identical engine, it's called an LT 4 it's a 6.2 liter aluminum engine with aluminum heads and it has a supercharger on top of it and as you can see that's the only file but I mean the two motors are essentially identical, it's actually the same motor I would use. jump into the Camaro, sorry, the Corvette zo6, so it's an engine they use in their very high-end equipment. The only car I think makes more power than this is the Corvette zr1 and we all know it. It's in the six-figure range, so for the price, this Camaro is a

good

deal.
Another thing I like about the Camaro zl1 is that the hood looks obviously different than a regular Camaro Super Sport SE. You can see this one in particular. The hood here has a kind of recess and it has a kind of carbon fiber inlay, so to speak, and it looks very, very sharp on the car, it gives more definition to the hood because the hood is quite large on this car, but because of that it gives the hood a really nice ugly look, I actually quite like it, it's quite nice and of course the only image you can see behind you.
I still have the hood up, but it has the same hood, as you can see, the one on the car, it still comes with the Brembo brakes, these are obviously red, the other one here, same size brakes, silver color, just another small difference between these two vehicles. Well, one of the other big differences between these two cars is the suspension and this is the big strong point for these two cars, so I wanted to highlight this: the car has spool valve shocks, which basically means that the car is with a pretty tight spring, I mean, this is a track warrior, so a lot of little things, as I understand it, this car is also about 50 pounds lighter than the regular ZL because it has different wheels and stuff like that, but you know , weight-wise, I mean. you know there won't be a huge difference but the suspension on these two cars is very very different, this particular one will have adjustable modes in terms of the suspension you have, your Sport Trac even has a snow and ice feature compared to this one here, you have the spool valve suspension and that rides a little stiff, so if this is a car that you are going to drive daily, the single cam may not necessarily be the best option for you because it offers a much stiffer ride than the regular ZL.
However, if you're looking for a gun, all you have to say is that it's an absolute stunner, and in fact, let's go ahead and drive these two cars for a bit. and I'd like to just give you my assessment on how these two cars actually drive and if they really are that different so I'm actually on board the

2019

Camaro zl1, the red car, and you know I've got everything located. the way I like it, I will say that the car really wraps around you pretty well, if you are not used to hiding us, you may not like this car, but that's just the Camaro for you, but I will say as a tip in the car it feels very solid.
This is the ten speed car. It's really nice and linear. The way the power is turned on. I will say that the blower is not as loud as what I am used to on my Hellcat. You are talking about a smaller blower. a one point seven liter blower versus the two four in the Hellcat, but you know what types, the car handles really well, it feels pretty composed, it's kind of a middle of the road feeling, I mean when you get into the curves and those things that the car still feels. I like it, I mean, it corners pretty well, it's very comfortable and I'm driving in sport mode, so I'm actually going to run a couple of gears here with the paddles and you know what I'm here, here's one, You know?
I'm not going too crazy with this guys, but the car has a really nice power band and you know what will get your attention quickly. The car feels very, very solid, it's like the perfect street warrior. I could literally ride in this car. all day and be really comfortable and it's actually pretty fast having vibes, obviously, a Hellcat. I'll put this up there with the Hellcat for speed, a stock Hellcat on the street and that little 10 speed actually works very well, so I'm actually pretty pleased with the car, I think from a fit and finish perspective, I'm pretty pleased with it, although it's different than saying you know a Hellcat or even a Mustang, the car has a really nice pose, a sense of serenity and you know what? it has a good amount of torque at low revs, it has a good amount of traction at the top and as you row through the gears, even with the paddles, it feels really very solid, it's a very pleasant car to drive and, as I mentioned, I could literally do this daily without any problems, so I am very pleased with the car.
You know it will let go of the tires if you want it to, but it doesn't feel like it's out of control either. These cars and one of the criticisms of them is you know why they put such a small blower on the car. They could have used the bigger blower, but I think this blower seems to work very well for this Camaro I. I mean, you know, the thing is, it's not always so much about how much displacement the blower has, but how efficient it is. it's the thing and this blower actually you know for a smaller blower it's pretty efficient and the way it works.
The power is really nice and linear. You don't feel like you're lacking power in this car. Now I'm on board the v1l II and you know what manual auto is. This is a six speed car and the first thingWhat will you see. The warning is that my cam probably jumps a lot, yes it's spring loaded, it's tighter than the normal zl1, it shows now that I'm racing this manual car and I'll say it, but I'm really enjoying driving this car and boy. What a difference and just feel the way this thing puts the power to the ground, this thing, the shifter is very tight, it feels incredibly composed and just puts itself to the ground in terms of just look at how fast the turn is.
In this, you can tell that you really feel like you are driving. a weapon when you're in this car, the shifters are very tight, the way it puts the power down is very precise and it just feels very, very composed and it's a completely different driving feeling now because it's a little bit stiffer, maybe the walking. It's not for everyone, but I'll tell you when you look at the whole package of this car, boy, I mean the way it takes off, I can feel the power in the car, the way the cars are genuinely composed, the way that is seen.
From how fast it turns, I'll tell you it's a different feel for this car, even if you sit here it looks the same from a feel perspective, it's a completely different driving experience and you know what, oh God, it's stiff. I just went through some big hurdles, but you know what I could deal with on a daily basis because I'm a foodie and the kind of person I am. I would have a great time in this car and I am really very happy. Enjoy driving it, it's a lot of fun to drive and you can see it's making me smile.
You know, yeah, like I said, it wouldn't be for everyone. You really feel like you are driving a purpose-built car. and you know, it wouldn't be what I want, what I want to negotiate. I will drive this car, yes, but for most people probably not, but then again, most people are not people like me, so you know, it really depends on your personality. You prefer what you like. I really enjoy driving this car and you know what both cars are for. They are built for different things. You can feel it when you drive them. This really makes me miss a manual car because that's what it is. which reduces the power, it's a really nice feeling, there's something about a manual car for us real car fans, who've been doing this for a long time, there's something about the way a manual car feels, something which is neatly arranged, there's just something about it. so i just returned the one le to its rightful place here at Hurst Autoplex so i want to sum up my general feelings about these two cars, obviously we have the zl1, the regular car, versus the one le and both cars are fantastic.
I really enjoyed driving my two overall thoughts the only car is that it's a legit weapon you can feel it when you drive it it feels very specifically designed it's really I mean it's a lot of fun to drive if I was going to pick one car to drive all days in terms of, you know, the way I use the car, which is not every day, but in terms of something to ride on the street, something to have fun with, I would choose. The only car I'm sitting in now I really enjoy driving this car, it's a lot of fun, it's a little tight but for me it's completely tolerable, I don't care, the car feels incredibly composed. in terms of the way it turns and the way it behaves, you know, it's intuitive in terms of the way the car behaves and just drives.
I really enjoy it now, if I'm going to use the car for drag racing this is not the car I would buy, I would buy the other one and if you drive a CL every day buy the other one. I'll only tell you how I feel about it if you're a normal person, as opposed to a crazy person like me. I would probably enjoy the regular model more because the dynamic driving modes that it has in terms of the suspension, you know, the adjustments that you can make, this is a track warrior, this is a lot of fun to drive, but you know what the drag. racing with that big wing and some of the aerodynamic features that the le car has are not ideal for drag racing and will slow you down a bit, plus the manual as we know is not like the old days where you used to do that. be faster in a manual, the ten speed will be a faster car on the race track, so for you everyday drivers, get the regular, that car is fantastic.
I could put my wife in that car and she could handle everything. all day and I would have the utmost confidence that she would just rock this car, you know what guys, this is, I don't know what else to say about it, I mean, the thing is very specifically designed, it's a It's a lot of fun to drive. It looks fantastic. I love how it looks. It's such a big creature on the road. What a presence it has, but they just do two different things and it depends on what your driving habits are guys, but both cars.
