Now, to me, the bottom half of this screen is more interesting than the top half, although it may look a little blank to begin with. If you move them, there is nothing there that can move the vents, so how do you change the position of the airflow on the vents? I can feel the eye roll from people who just want a simple little lever on the vents, but I guess this is how Porsche will approach vent adjustments in the future. It's also worth knowing that you can adjust the airflow to the vents with this little bar that appears on the left, it's like a slider and you can move it up or down. for more or less airflow, same on the passenger side, you can choose between diffuse focused and individual and once again you move the bubbles for each individual and you can place the vents exactly where you want so no more You will simply have to move them. in the vents, you have to go to the screen.

It's shaped like a gauge cluster, not a rectangular square like most other screens, although to me the most interesting part of this gauge cluster screen is. If it's partially a touch screen, you'll notice that to the left you have several different levels of lighting, you can touch them and it turns on the parking lights or the automatic lights or whatever you want to do and there's no physical control of the light. on the left, like in most other cars, same thing on the right side of this oddly shaped gauge cluster screen, it has several different buttons to control different functions of the car, you can disable the traction control, it has the shortcut button, which is the diamond that you can program can be anything and you can touch them to make the gauge cluster display a touch screen.
Now I should mention that the gauge cluster is not a touch screen in the middle, it is very configurable, but if you want to configure it you have to press this little button. on the steering wheel to move between the different parts of the gauge cluster and then you can use this little wheel on the steering wheel to scroll through several different options, the most important one is in the middle, you can see right now it's on the map. and shows a map of where I am. You can also set it to a zoomed-in map and then it basically takes up the entire gauge cluster screen, which looks nice and can be very useful.
You can also set it to power meter and then it will show how much power you are using while driving with the speedometer right in the middle and you can set it to low if all that is too complex for you put it to low and you have a very simple gauge cluster display that not all kinds of different elements come at you at once, but to the left and right of the central part of the screen you can also set several different elements, again, simply use the steering wheel button to move to the part whatever you want and then you can Use the wheel to scroll through various different elements and there are all kinds of different functions of the car.

Look at this. you turn it off and it says Tycon and shows a fairly standard silhouette of the car. A lot of cars do that but then the silhouette of the car turns and you see the light bar from behind and then the light bar slowly fades out and then the car is off, a lot of cars now have start and stop graphics but that's one one of the coolest ones I've ever seen and then we move on to the steering wheel, which is pretty much the same steering wheel you'll find on most. other Porsche models, although it notably lacks paddles because this car lacks a traditional transmission, the only interesting element worth noting on the steering wheel is this small dial that comes out to the right, which is the mode adjustment dial driving, you can turn it and then you can see.
Your various driving modes appear in the gauge cluster and you can scroll through them all and choose which one you want. A new one for this car is something called range which I assume will do everything it can to maximize its range and efficiency and allow you to travel as far as possible on a single charge and finally I want to talk about the interior quality which is fantastic, everything feels absolutely wonderful, well stitched and well put together, premium materials throughout this interior that far eclipse what you get in Tesla, this is a really good luxury car interior.
That being said, I am a little disappointed in one aspect and that would be this little plastic panel on this pillar next to the door panel. You can see the door panel is beautiful, with different colors stitched in carbon fiber and then it works. on this plastic panel and it just doesn't look that good for a hundred and eighty-five thousand dollars, you would think that that panel would be finished in something other than what looks like cheap plastic and then we move on to the back seat. of the ticon and the first thing you notice here is that it is sporty, there is no three-person bench seat here, instead you have two individual seats and they are quite bolstered.
I guess the theory here is that you can take your whole family on the track and they won't be splashing around in their seats. It's worth noting that optional on this car is a three-person rear bench, so you can have a five-seater car or you can have a four-seater like this if not. Now I don't plan on carrying five people very often, other than the bucket seats, the first thing you will notice when you return here is the roof, which is a huge glass panel, this piece does not open, it is fixed in place and has no cover.
Although it's tinted so not much sunlight gets through, it's still a huge piece of glass and really makes the back feel very open. Now this piece covers the front seats as well, but it is not so noticeable in the front, but rather here in the back. It feels like you're on some sort of glass-bottom tour bus or boat, except it's on top and speaking of windows, another item worth mentioning here because of the design of this car, the rear windows don't open. They open a lot, you lower the windows. and this is as far as they open, contrary to popular myth, this is not a safety issue to prevent your children from getting out, it is based on the design of the back door and in this case the window simply cannot go very far into the door.
That said, there is good news for rear seat passengers. There are some nice features back here, for example it has heated seats in the rear, you can press these little buttons to turn on the heated seats in three different stages and it also has individual reading lights. Back here you have a little button on the roof that you can press that turns on the reading lights so you can read while being driven around the race track in your electric Porsche. Another thing is that rear seat passengers have climate control. The adjusters on the vents have a little dial to regulate the airflow and these little switches to move around the vents, so if you don't want to deal with that center screen for climate vent adjustment, just sit back in the back and then we move. around the back of the Ticon and in the trunk.

You can see you have your rear camera, which is not interesting, in fact it's mandatory, but right next to the camera there is a little thing sticking out, what is it exactly? It's a washing machine and if the camera gets dirty, you can access the infotainment system. the camera presses this little washing machine looking button and then it washes the camera so you don't have to go out and wash the camera yourself, the car will do it for you which is a pretty nice little quirk.
Now, another interesting article related to washing. the tycon comes with the rear spoiler on other porsche models you can drive with the rear wing up so people don't stare at you so on the Taikan there is a spoiler right here and it will go up automatically at certain speeds but you can only put it manually. To wash the car, there's a little thing in the infotainment system that allows you to put the spoiler into cleaning mode, it only goes this far, so you can basically put a rag underneath and clean the area that you can't actually clean. . drive with the spoiler up so you can't have people looking at you and your cool Porsche with the spoiler and then another cool thing on the back of this car.
All Porsche models have light bars. That's not particularly noteworthy. The good stuff is just below. that the Porsche script is on what looks like a circuit, you can see all these little lines between each letter and it looks like something futuristic, special and high tech, and I really like that they bothered to do that which gives the car. just a little bit more interesting look now the last thing I want to discuss here is the name of this car because it has caused quite a bit of controversy. I'm going to start with taikan and yes, that's how you say taikan and not taekon, which is It's weird because it sounds like it would be pronounced taekon, but Porsha assures me it's not.
It's also strange because they have a car called makhan that is unrelated to this, so makon and taikon aren't facing two separate Porsche models.
