Here's What I Think of the Lincoln Continental - TheDriveGuyde Review

May 29, 2021
This is the Lincoln Continental, Lincoln's new All American flagship and when the concept of this car first appeared two or three years ago I was desperate to drive it and now I finally have it so I can share my thoughts with you. of

what

I

think

of this car and that comes

here

in the driving guide, so we're on the road and t

here

's a lot to talk about about this car, let's start by saying there are two engines that you can get. with this car, a 2.7 liter v6 and a 3 liter engine which is

what

we have now and which is a twin turbo engine that produces 400 horsepower and pound-feet of torque and both engines are coupled with a all wheel drive so just get started quickly with the seats because they are 30 way adjustable you can access the massage seats here and yes you have massage and each outside seat goes up and down using these buttons or with the touch screen you can then adjust from independently the Lower your upper back and the brace so you can really find the perfect position for your body type and for me, every time I pick up any of these press cars, I can spend two or three minutes, you know , just setting the Bluetooth to get the driving position and then I'm off, but in this car I spent a good 10 minutes going through the menus trying to find the perfect Goldilocks to make this the best position I could find.

There are so many things you can talk about with seats. Only in this car you can have five different extendable bolsters on each side, so with me, of course, there are all of them, but if I wanted to stretch my left leg a little more, then I can take this one back, but others. things you should know the chrome work you see around here is real chrome this open Paul wood is really lovely to the touch and the steering wheel also feels great in the hand and I need to know I have been in quite a few cars that have heated steering wheels, but none of them are as good as this one, it heats up very quickly and it's all the way around, whereas in a lot of cars I've been in it would only be as far as where the seam on the steering wheel ends, it's all circumference, so along with the touch screen you also have this customizable digital display and there are a lot of things you can do with it but the setup I currently have here is the one I like to use when I'm on the road, it's very minimalist and you can just focus on the road ahead when I saw the concept version of this car for the first time.

More Interesting Facts About,

I was immediately intrigued and I

think

they did a good job of bringing that concept to life. Yes, there are some details missing, but they are all highlights. for people it was that big chrome grille those headlights the door handles are actually integrated into the Beltline and overall I think it's a really beautiful car. I like the way it tilts back when you look in the rear view mirror here the door handles are above the rear horn so it just gives it that tilted look all the way, the overall feel with the other touch plastics and shifters throughout the car is very reminiscent of what you would see on a Ford product because at the end of the day, Ford owns Lincoln and I feel like if Lincoln took the next step and introduced nappa leather throughout the dash and in the sides, then it would be a much more desirable product for people looking for a premium luxury sedan.

I feel the same about most of the buttons, 95% of them, they feel great in the hands and I love this solidity and feel, but the two dials you interact with the most, the volume knob and the speed knob from the fan, they don't feel like they're inside. the same class and category they don't feel like they have the same solidity they feel very light and fragile and I don't like that if they made them with what looked like solid steel that would really convince me like that The car has lane keep assist and radar Control cystic cruise.

You can press the massage button. Laibach plays some tunes on the nineteen-speaker sound system, which really plays and just sets off on a long-distance trip without prior planning. I'd love to go for an hour-long trip to the grocery store and then end up at the grocery store and discover that I didn't bring my wallet, that's how comforting this driving experience is, although this car certainly serves its purpose as a long-distance cruiser. , let's see. What's it like when you exercise that twin-turbo V6 in the corners? Well, while we're cornering, I'll put the car in its sport mode and you can shift manually with the paddles behind the steering wheel when you're on.
In manual mode, it's important to note that if you don't shift at redline, the car will still shift for you, but when you're going at speed here in sport mode, the gearing isn't compromised at all, it's still as luxurious as before. On the highway you can certainly feel the turbo lag and the gearbox spins you around a bit, but when we brake hard into this corner and turn, the all-wheel drive takes you out every time and if you look at the digital dashboard here, the car will It will tell where the power goes. However, it is very clear that this car was not built for this environment.
It leans quite a bit in and out of corners. The lag is certainly noticeable in this car, but it really draws in the sound. It's not particularly inspiring or exciting, it's definitely a lot louder in sport mode, but as you just go down the hill like what I'm doing now, it's not really that intrusive, there's a bit of feel coming out of the steering wheel here. Very surprised to say it's clear to me that this car doesn't do the trick here, it certainly prefers to be on the road, so let's say now let's go out into the city to see what it's like to live this car. with everyday life, so when you're in the city the first thing you really notice is that the steering is adjustable speed, so if you're going through a parking lot you barely know the speed of travel, the steering wheel actually turns. much faster and when I first got in the car, it was the first time I experienced a system like this and it was a little unpleasant at first because you turned the steering wheel about a quarter of the normal resistance that I've been feeling all the time in the road and going through curves and stuff, but then when you get into town and you're going through a parking lot, you feel like the steering wheel is slipping out of your hand, it's just the electric one. motors that way to try to make when navigating this four thousand five hundred pound luxury barge around the parking lot, the car feels very maneuverable and it never feels as big and heavy as it is, talking about the parking that this car has.
Automatic Perpendicular and Parallel Parking I tried both and parallel parking was much more successful than perpendicular. A nice little note, besides that if you're stuck in a parallel spot, you can have the car move on its own for you. The touch screen that we have here comes with the Ford SYNC 3 system with a kind of Lincoln custom overlay and I really like it, it reacts very quickly and it's very easy to use and then you also have Apple Carplay and Android Auto with this system that has this car. some other cool features as well as soft close doors, a huge trunk you kick OPIC and take the speed limit by finding the pre-collision warning signs, if the car thinks you're going to crash it will apply the brakes for you and then a 360 degree camera system and when you approach, the headlights and the taillights or the good lights to welcome you to the car, these little lights that are under the door mirrors illuminate the ground to have this puddle of light with the Lincoln logo on it, you have ambient lighting around the car, this car is much more than just a luxury cruiser, it's more of a limousine, so let's stop somewhere so we can take a good look at the back seats and what they have to do.
The offering in the rear of the Lincoln here is really where something special comes in, so firstly we have the rear seat package which, as I mentioned earlier, gives each seat on the outside massage, ventilation and heating functions, but it The most important thing to note is when we Fold this here and we get our own control panel, so back here you can change the music that the driver has, you can change the source and then you can also play with some things like the rear sunshade that is can control. here and up in the front as well and then you have your own independent climate controls and it's oriented for some cup holders and then back here there's a little bit more hidden storage.
If you were desperate to get something out of the trunk, just open it and you can reach back to grab whatever you need in the back, you can see that where I'm sitting now my head is slightly touching the ceiling, which is a little embarrassing, but you can fold these seats back, you can just stretch out to Kick back and relax in this car and even better is you have the controls to move this passenger seat even further and I'm going to really see how far this thing can go. It's a curiosity. I can stretch my legs so far.
I have a lot of space back here and then you can also see that you have rear sun visors that Immanuel and most of all some ashtrays in the door handles, the headrests, everything so that you can turn it in, another thing back here in this car We had rear seat belts. That they are actually equipped with airbags shows who is the most valuable passenger in this car, so this back seat is really very special. You still have the wood trim over here and the chrome and the ambient lighting will show up back here as well in the way Viewing this car is really based on what you think it competes rightly a lot of people will think it competes against a BMW 5 Series and an Audi s6, a Mercedes AMG before the t3 and, although those cars could compete in the same kind of price range, this car.
I wouldn't compete against them in the sense of their mission, the mission of this car is back seat luxury, for those cars it's more driving performance, so when you think of this car as a stretched luxury limousine and you compete against models like a Cadillac ct- 6 or a jaguar xj L I think this car is really promising and a real competitive solution, so that's it from me.
