so hopefully a simple video to explain handicap and then we talk about stable foot points handicap is basically how good you are at golf the lower your handicap the lower the number here the better at golf the

## handicaps

can go as high as 36 normally for competitions down to zero and then even better than that you can have a lower handicap than zero which we won't worry about just yet if you're a zero handicap that doesn't mean you're a tall player there a lot lot lot better thanthat so this guy here is a 10 handicap all that means is at the end of the round he gets 10 shots taken off his score after 18 holes so if he or she has scored 80 had in a bit they get 70 the par on this course is 70 that's handy as they finish level par

are great for making the game a leveler so anybody can play with anybody or anyone in this case and you can make it even so stable through points this is where points are given to a score on the hole and the score is related to thepar first of all and also how difficult you like the hole is so this stroke index here is sort of the difficulty of the hole sort of so this player here has a handicap of 10 that means he or she gets a shot at the 10 hottest holes number one don't here being the hardest hole so in this example the player will not get one shot taken off their score here because the handicap is 10 this is the 12th hottest hole so this player gets a 3 it stays as a 3 on the next hole this is a 6 hottests also

quite a tricky one if the player gets a 5 they get one shot taken off so it's really a 4 will go down again here's the next hole stroke - second toughest hold if you like if the play gets a 5 that comes down to 8 4 so no shot on this hole once you're taken off here once you're taken off here and it also get a shot taken off here that's the tenth part is sold at how many captors Tim now how this works with points in

#### Stableford

for a par you get two points a bogey which is oneworse than par you get one point a birdie I'm better than pi you get three points Eagle four points so this is after your

been taken off so the play here got three the par was a three two points the player got four don't forget one shot taken off because of the stroke and X the PI is also a four two points next I'll play I got five that's really a 4-1 shot taken off and a four on a par five is one better that's a birdie big three points great thing about this formatfor those that haven't played if you're beginner definitely a good way to play if you have a really bad hole when you get like a 10 it doesn't count as 10 it just counts as zero points and you've been getting the hole and move on
