Hand Tied Wefts | Removal + Installation

Jun 03, 2021
Hi guys for this video we are going to remove my clients extensions and reinstall them and this will be the sew in method if you want you can find me on Instagram at Christy at the cottage here are my clients before and we did it. a bleach and a tone, but I already uploaded that video, so here's a little clip if you want to see that part of the service. That was my little video that I uploaded to Instagram and it was actually shared on the blonde solutions page as well, which I was really excited about, but I did a whole video on the bleaching and toning part of the service, so it's just a quick little clip so if you want to see the actual discoloration and tone, that was the last video I uploaded before this one so I don't know if you noticed but it's been about six to eight weeks since the last time that my client was there and that's our regular service schedule that we do, we applied bleach. and tone and extensions every time and I have done quite a few videos of their services which I will link all in the description if you like to see bleach and tones or extensions, I usually include both services together in one video but I just thought I would split them up this time so that were different so this is your usual growth that you have and it's probably like maybe an inch and a half or so so we're just going to go through and remove the Extensions One thing I really like about these extensions compared to the extensions with duct tape is that, on the one

hand

, they are much less harmful if they are not damaged at all.

I feel like when you make duct tape it takes a long time to remove it and have to reapply it. and all those things I feel like it's a hassle to do those types of

installation

s and my client really likes doing the beaded rose because she feels like it's a lot more natural and she feels like it's a lot less around her head and I feel like you know she can spend her

hand

s through your hair a little bit easier or you don't feel like you have all the stuff on your scalp, so I feel like that's one benefit of these extensions compared to tape-ins is that the

removal

process is like they're just a few minutes, so compared to trying to remove some tapes, I mean sometimes it can take like an hour, you know, then you have to rinse your hair and wash it to get all the dirt off and everything, so I feel like that.

More Interesting Facts About,

hand tied wefts removal installation...

It's a huge time saver to be able to do some hand

tied

wefts

because it's basically just the hair slipping out and honestly I don't do a strand anymore. I like to do this setup where I just loop. bead by bead hair without using thread it just takes the guesswork out it makes it so much easier for me so that's just my preference so here's your hair let's take out the second row and honestly we were thinking. We were going to do three rows of hair but she was happy with just the two rows so that's why we didn't end up doing the third one and I will also say that when we installed these last extensions that we did I thought we were going to do a third row but she was happy with where it was, so I probably wouldn't have let them drop that far below the crown area.

I probably would have moved them up a little bit more if I knew we were I'm just going to do both and here it is after doing your bleach shade and I mean I would cut the ends off but sometimes I feel like it and I don't want this to sound bad , but when clients have their hair a little bit like broken at the ends or like someone needs a cut because their hair is a little bit thinner and sparse at the ends. I feel like that really benefits when someone gets extensions. I usually don't like to trim her hair because it kind of dissolves the weight line of her natural hair, so for me personally, yeah, I don't want to hear in the comments things like oh, she needs a haircut like we do it sometimes with sniper tips, but usually we just blend it in, so I feel like when someone's weight line is a little more sparse, it just helps blend into the extensions much more naturally if they're interested in learn in detail and step by step, better than what I can show you on YouTube, I highly recommend it.

After Zack Musquit, he is formerly known as Platinum Perfection on Instagram, so look him up. They also have this monthly subscription called Platinum Posse, which is where I learned this specific method of extensions and I highly recommend you be a part of it. monthly subscription, I think it's like 11 a month or something like that. I think I misquoted once and said it was like 30 a month, which I would happily pay 30, but honestly, I think it was like 11 or something really low like that. You have all her tips and tricks when it comes to blonde extensions, whether you are a blonde and a stylist or if you are a stylist who wants more education on blonde bleaching and tone toning for platinum blondes, regardless of the extensions she does, with different methods , I highly recommend it.
If you join the platinum group, go to their Instagram, you can sign up there. I have learned a lot by following him. He saves all of his work on his Instagram stories in that closed private account so you can always come back and check them out. It's really nice because there's a lot of times, like when I was first learning this particular method, it was nice to be able to go in there and rewatch everything to make sure that he was doing everything right and he also does live videos and also. He will answer if you have any questions, you can always ask them where I meet a lot of these great hair artists on Instagram like they're not trying to reveal any of their secrets, any of their formulations, you can message them. asking questions and they won't answer you, so that's one of the good things is that with your monthly subscription that you pay you can also send messages.
I have messaged him many times and he always gets back to me so I really appreciate that about him so I highly recommend him if you are interested in learning this type of extensions technique. Go to your Platinum Posse page or on Instagram, it will direct you there and you will join and register. I think he likes her. thousand subscribers or followers there, so it's nice to be able to have that kind of one-on-one experience that you feel like you're getting from him now that we're on the other side. take a little bit of a section of his hair that's not coiled and then we'll also take half of the section of hair that was coiled through the bead and combine them and then insert them. a new account and that's what will create our base that we're doing so you can see those little strands of hair that are falling out.
I'll just take like half the hair for each section and then combine it into the new section of hair and that replaces the rope. I don't mind the rope app, but I felt like I was always questioning myself or wondering if I was doing this right and I find it easier not to have the rope, so I'm glad I learned that way, but I feel like this is a lot more quick and eliminates that step of having to try to question yourself, like am I nodding right, did I do it right, do I like looping the right way or whatever.
So tying all that together, it was a no-brainer for me to be able to do my base this way without using thread, so I've seen some videos from other stylists who are self-taught. doing your hand

tied

extensions or your sew-in method or whatever and some of the services that I see you doing when you guys put the beads in the hair, like pressing the bead against the scalp and then relaxing a little bit. a little bit you don't want to see the scalp pulling when you're doing the count, you want to make sure you're letting it go a little bit so you know you've got it right up to the scalp but it's not pulling the hair, that's what's going to give them bald spots or which will cause hair to pull out.
There have been times when people come and if this is a service they have performed many times, you can always see it. like a horseshoe horse, a horseshoe horse, you know what the hell and you talk about, you can always see a horseshoe around his head, where the hair is thinning, where the track is because he pulls so hard that he tears the hair out, like that Just make sure that you are doing this part of the service, anything that has to do with tightening up the scalp, make sure you release the hair just a little so that that way it doesn't pull too much and cause any damage. or any thinning in those areas and that's why I don't really go into too much detail about this service where normally for i g color or like bleach or whatever, sometimes I tell you exactly how to do things and I feel like if you're not seeing it in person or if someone is not recording it and being able to hold the phone very close so you can see exactly what's happening, I don't know how to describe this to you or how to tell you how to do it.
It's like you have to look and you have to be able to see very clearly and I feel like I can't unless I have someone standing next to me to record this part of the service and tell you. exactly how to do it while I'm doing it, that's why I feel like it's good to get in-person training for this part of the service and that's why I don't really go into too much detail about it because I feel like I can't give you the best education for this service that you can probably get and I don't want to tell you the wrong way to do things or not give you the best information or the most accurate information if you can't see it. very good from the angle that I can show you, so maybe one day, if it's something you guys want, then maybe I could put myself like a mannequin and try to think that maybe someone will come and record for me, but I have to like to find someone who does that, so anyway, long story short, I feel like I'm not able to give you the best knowledge about it, so a lot of times, when it comes to handmade plots or um, you know.
I don't want to give you a ton of information or tell you how exactly to wind the hair or how you're supposed to do the thread in this part because I don't even know the words to say um unless I was recording it for you specifically while I was doing the service. um, and that would have to be on a mannequin or something, that's why I say if you go to Zach at Platinum Posse, he really breaks it down and I think. he has his wife there to film for him so that you guys can get the best of you and the best angle and I just don't think I can necessarily provide that to him so that's why, for now, usually.
In this part of the service I usually don't say anything because I feel like it would be confusing and hard to understand, so yeah, I just wanted to let you know that I feel like you could learn something from someone better. than I can tell you, so, yeah, that's why I'm not giving too much information here because I don't want to be too confusing now that we're done with our first plot. I'm going to glue it in, make sure this knot is secure and then cut it and this is the first time I'm going to check and flat iron the hair as I go.
I feel like this helps my sections look much neater. They have a much cleaner look and I can see exactly what hair needs to be exactly where I need it and how the hair blends, so this is a step that I would normally wait until the end, but I've actually liked doing it this way. in the service to make sure that I can see that the hair blends well and then it also looks much better so when I have my next section I will do it right so one thing I don't do What I like about hand tied extensions is which I noticed a lot of people and I'm actually going to discuss this with my client towards the end of the video, but I feel like a lot of people stay like an inch or two away. of the hairline, so when all the hair is down it's like you can still see the natural hair in the front and I see that from many, many, many stylists where everything looks great from the back but then up.
In the front area, as you can see, you know the hair is a little bit shorter or a little bit thinner, so I really like the idea of putting some tapes in if your client is okay with it or if they want you to do that and just Like putting some tapes in, maybe like two sections right in the front and I feel like that will fill in that spot where it feels a little thinner or not as full where the extensions are right in the top area and that will help it blend in a little better so sometimes you have to combine two methods as I know duct tapes are not my favorite as I like making duct tapes but after making them I definitely prefer sewing but I feel like adding some duct tapes might be beneficial just to help blend the hair and make sure it's nice and full around the front of the face also very well and honestly what I've noticed with this type of hair from a lot of stylists What bothers me a little bit is that I feel like because it wraps around the back of the head, sometimes it doesn't go far enough into this area, yeah, so when it falls forward, sometimes there's too much natural hair and Yeah, you don't have that length in the front. that covers exactly, yeah, two, that's why I say, uh, you know, yeah, but um, so.
Sometimes I think, "We want to put some tape so they appearright in that area, you know, but I mean, people are hurt, they're happy, they're happy, but yeah, sometimes I'm like, 'Do you just want to?' I put some things in there, I feel like the tape and some damaged my hair. a lot more than these, yeah, probably because you have to pull them out a little bit harder, yeah, there would be a couple of times a day they come up and stuff, oh really, and that's how it is because I washed out my conditioner. for hair that kind of stuff and these things feel more real so that was just part of the conversation we had about adding a little bit of little tapes and putting a little bit in and she's fine with how her extensions are so she did it. we'll leave it like that and her ear looks good and I don't notice it much in her hair, but if you feel like you can see a little bit in the front where her natural hair falls, just take some scissors and try to blend the extensions with her natural hair and give them a facial framing appearance and that will help diminish that line if you want.
You notice that in your client's hair you should never be able to see like you know natural hair versus extensions because everything should blend together perfectly and you shouldn't really be able to tell the difference, so what's one of the reasons I like these extensions. I feel like if you like tapes or know keratin tapes or whatever, sometimes they can look like keratin tapes, especially the ones on the tips of your eyes, they can look stringy since they're like the little pieces, etc. When taping, you really want to make sure you put a full amount everywhere so you get plenty of coverage and no individual strands are showing.
That's one of the reasons I like to make these because they look a lot. It's more natural you don't see any difference like breaks in the hair where you know you have something installed and it's not like you have a nice even trail around it so now it just creates a nice natural look so if you haven't. Done this part of the extensions part or this type of extensions, I highly recommend that you at least try it and see how you feel about it, the

installation

, the

removal

, all that is much easier, I mean, I remember when I was doing like eye. tip extensions, those would take hours and hours and hours and then the removal would take hours on top of that, so it's a lot better to have something that's faster, it's a lot cleaner, the removal process is a lot less too, um, so Always try new things and see what works best for you.
It is so beautiful. Wow, that blood is pretty good. So perfectly. Yeah, that's crazy. Do you want any? I mean, since we did it last time, I don't know if we'll have to. now, but like any of you who don't, I don't think we need to do it since it's the same thing, yeah, it's not really, I mean, I already have some little bits here, yeah, that looks cool, sweet and I don't have to do it. wash it, I know you think I'm going to be ready for a while, okay, here's her after and you know, after her color and everything we did, but here are her extensions, it all comes together so well you can't see where . your hair and where the extensions are.
Thank you all so much for watching. If you were sitting through all of this, I appreciate it. Let me know if you like these videos where we just focus on extensions. Thank you all so much for watching. and don't forget to like and subscribe
