popularized by pop smoke, as well as how the Black Disciples and Gangster Disciples merged from Chicago in the '60s, which ran over the many decades. that followed ultimately spawned the modern day battles between oblock and toucaville, a war in the streets that made legends out of its key players like king von and fbg duck, but today i'm going to take on something much closer to home and check out look at one of the most violent fights in recent British history punching a battle between two teams in London famous both for the hard-hitting music they made during this period and for a shocking degree of violence that unfortunately spread through the streets of London and Some of the incidents in this story were made even more shocking by the fact that guns are completely illegal in the UK and some members of the e these groups engaged in brazen shootings in broad daylight in the middle. of london for all the public to see a fight that ended up being so intrinsically linked to the music that the london metropolitan police were even forced to intervene and censor the music of those involved, this is the story of moscow 17 and the

More Interesting Facts About,

gangs of london moscow17 v zone 2...

Today's story takes place in South London and the first group finds itself near an area of South London known as Elephant and Castle. This area is known for several blocks. also known as estates or what Americans may call the projects, this includes the infamous and now demolished haygate estate the browning estate the aylesbury estate which has been widely targeted by police and the media for its gang activity throughout of the years and most relevant to this story, brandon's farm, where most of the members that we are going to talk about in this video come from a farm that, like oblock in our previous video, was named the block America's deadliest has been listed as the deadliest in Britain, in fact I used to live right next door to this property and you might even know it from the background of my old Posh and Beck music video, now the place that connects many of these areas is the The main strip of Elephant and Castle known as Woolworth Road is a long road that runs from the center of Elephant and Castle near the tube station to Camberwe ll and passes through these properties, becoming Camberwell Road, which eventually intersects Peckham Road and leads east to Peckham An Area. which we will later identify as being from operations so you're welcome for the geography lesson but I know you're wondering how the heck this ties into gang culture well the local g on elephant and castle once ran together under the woolly road or woolly hood flag an obvious reference to their neighborhood's main strip being war with road as is often the case with street gangs that have members rapping wooly road or woolly The neighborhood was, of course, immortalized forever in the lyrics of the rap ogs that came from this area.

These are the best verses you will ever hear. great with peckham gang outfits like sn1 which if you don't know is actually the outfit of drake's rapper friend from his song kmt giggs reps in fact years ago we even saw the likes of giggs teaming up with the rapper wooly road otb set money in freestyle sessions that are still floating around online but don't kid yourself there were early beasts between pekom and wooly road sets such as the set mob o mandem in brandon who has trouble with s-i to instantly fire of pekka with several early incidents of violence between these two South London based groups, but again, just as we have seen with chicago gangs over the years, generations of local gangsters have grown old leaving the young err The newer generation coming out will actually notice a lot of similarities between South London gang culture and Chicago gang culture because, as was the case with the old block s of Chicago in the 1970s and 1980s in South London, eventually the government stepped in and tore down local blocks in this area, such as the Haygate Estate, leaving some of the new generation of young people displaced and seeking to create new alliances both on the streets like at the booth with new young outfits popping up in the area representing their local estates, for example. you got that ay 17 set rep at aylesbury estate and browning 17 rep for browning estate and if you're wondering the 17 is actually borrowed from one of the postcodes which is on elephant and castle now one of the oldest g rappers in the new La Woolly Road generation was a rapper named sp17, who back in 2016 had a kind of pop-in underground drill track called moscow, and the song itself is about the kind of weapons the lo cal gangsters could have in their hands of course, as guns are completely illegal in the UK most of the guns that would end up in the hands of these g's would be old Russian made military guns that were probably smuggled in from Eastern Europe. actually it became kind of a trend in the uk mock around this time for people to refer to guns as russians, in fact this is why british rapper russ calls himself russ because it's actually short for russian or russ with the russian get it he's got a gun he's got a russian at a certain point this line caught on and because there were so many of these illegal russian guns floating around in these areas particularly in the brandon estate, this led to that block being nicknamed moscow with the young men of the browning estate eventually starting their own crew on the streets and in the vocal booth, being collectively known as the moscow 17. and eventually the moscow 16 members 17 would release drill songs like track violence and of course the moscow march these early tracks introduced us to the members of moscow 17 for the first time including gb screw loose and tizzy t, and as the moscow rap team 17 started to pick up steam, we would soon be introduced to even more talented members through new freestyles and songs, especially the likes of incognito aka sk who would later become more well known for his solo tracks, blessed and friggy, his right-hand man being the member who doesn't rap jb or jet black and through other songs. or at least the g reference lyrics they would hang out with we would get to know even more members like rhino maeske who actually had a great early song with lowsky from the harlem spartans called mummy's kitchen there was knockout ned rizzy ramps too known as rampage ted matic and maybe a few others i don't necessarily need to name and this is not an exhaustive list of all moscow 17 members or affiliates but it is the lineup of people who are most actively representing the set during this period and the people who will be most relevant to this story so who are their operations if you follow wooly road south through camberwell then turn left into peckham road you will eventually end up in pekka now you may already know that pekom made famous by rodney and delboy's charming antics on the old show just fools and horses, but you really would have to be a fool to get caught in modern day pekka because it is this district that has one of the longest and most violent histories in all of south london gang law as i mentioned earlier road man rap giggs national treasure is famous for peckham and rept sn1, his pekka boys group and when it came to gangs, pekka boys meant business. business in the 90s and the naughty having had a long and violent beast with close operations the ghetto boys a beast that saw pekom voice regularly shooting up nightclubs with automatic weapons, including an incident at the iron only club of chicago in 2000 which actually left nine people injured in fact giggs has even mentioned in some of his early freestyles having straps in the back of chicago at a certain point the violence in peckham got so bad that some of the locals started referring to it as pecnam because people were here dying like it was the vietnam war not unlike how people call chicago iraq actually while we are on the subject of similarities to chicago the 2000 murder of 10 year old damiola taylor by two 16 year olds. brothers associated with the pekka boys is eerily similar to what happened to 11 year old robert yummy sandofa in chicago at the hands of the black disciples and just seeing these similarities between pekka and chicago up to the impact it is having on the innocent pre-los Teenage boys growing up in these areas truly realize how similar the horrifying consequences of gang activity can be anywhere in the world, in fact, you may even be surprised to learn that superstar actor John Boyega is actually from peckham and he was even a personal childhood friend of daniola taylor and it was reported that boyega was actually one of the last people to see him alive angry anyone we had rappers like giggs and others came up from outside the pekka voice trying to make it and be legitimately successful in music, the thing is, the bag was much harder to secure at the moment, this was pirate ry pre-broadcast but post-music, which of course means that the best way to make money at the time for a rapper was to perform shows, however, once the London Metropolitan Police realized that they were They came up with a new form of finesse for rappers called a 696 form, a document promoters would have to submit to the police before a concert would be allowed, but what happened? it's that the police ended up using these forms to target and prevent shows from occurring specifically of the rap and grime genres, a practice that was identified many years later as an inherent practice. t racial bias so in front of rappers who can't perform that's where we saw the absolute legend in the game the big dog Tim Westwood stepping in and creating his legendary crib segment that provides platforms for rappers who have been de-rigged by the police and inviting them to perform mini gigs excuse the pun at their house recording them and uploading them to youtube without police interference with the first crib session of course being a sn1 giggs session and up To this day Westwood is still using its cradle session format to give opportunities to the greasier rappers London has to offer, ironically it eventually attracted the attention of the police, who would go on to remove the cradle sessions of moscow 17 and

two from youtube but more on that later so from pek and boys spawned the younger generation of young pekka boys or ypb and just as we have seen so far with moscow 17th chicago bds and gds over the years with police Involved members were locked up, killed or simply displaced by housing authorities as the years passed, these subsets and youth groups also fragmented and divided, but eventually, outside of YPB, we would see several babyface rappers who would become future workout legends. particularly a 12 year old boy named preacher who would later be called ps and another talented little rascal named nutty who would later change his name to nasty and then back to the queen would take on another young mike and eventually the real killer would be dens later passing the name d squeezeo and at a certain point several of these rap members came together to create a rap crew called 365. together they would release posse cuts and freestyles showing their grit and also introducing us to new members, people like shea squeeze trisack or trisla karma scully snoopy lr and mad max who is not as active now forpretty sinister reasons that we can get to later now this crew would eventually change their name from 365 to zone 2 and release their first official project the hookless mixtape just want to say that madness aside that we're about to get into the zone 2, the music is genuinely, very, very good and some of the most underrated UK exercise the country has to offer. zone 2's musical legacy is actually very cohesive, partly because Khan's Hill, the iconic drill producer and sound pioneer who brought to life the famous Brixton-based Drill Through Six Seven sound, would turn up and produce a full sound. duration projects for zone 2 including their 2018 ribbon side zoo which is truly one of the hardest drill or wrap projects ever done in my opinion and some of the things they say there are so devilish which i feel like i'm going to hell just listening to him the project actually features a bloodstained elephant on the cover which probably doesn't require too much interpretation anyway so zone 2 and attack squad the team apparently zone 2 street centric affiliates ates really lingers on the streets of course they would amass a large number of members not all of whom are relevant to this story so for the record there may be multiple names that you think should be included here, I won't include them because it's either not relevant to this story or I can't verify them facts that they were involved beyond speculation in social media, but this is the core group of people who are at least known to have been associated with zone 2 or released music with them during the time this story takes place, so now you know the teams and members involved We can take a closer look at how this beach started and how it would eventually escalate into a deadly war that would ultimately claim the lives of people from both areas.

Rumors have circulated over the years, but one thing is clear is that zone 2 and moscow 17 were not always enemies in november 2015, a remix of the song rico by meek mill was released incognito, who was then going as sk now this music video was actually Rumored to have featured numerous members from both Moscow and zone two including Queen Face and Trisack. In fact, the story goes that Trisak is actually the cousin incognito, a fact that will become even more shocking as his story progresses Now comments on the mock UK reddit community would suggest things turned sour between these two teams after someone from zone 2 robbed a moscow affiliate's house initially with a moscow member trying to get back some of those stolen items which ultimately resulted in them getting stabbed this would lead to several tit for tat retaliation between these two groups that would escalate each time with two particularly shocking incidents that occurred in mid-2016, one in which a 15-year-old member whose identity is unclear due to being underage at the time the through a crowded fun fair and stabbed himself multiple times in front of shocked families, ultimately resulting in them being airlifted to the hos pital, but thankfully surviving this comes along with another incident where a moscow member was allegedly stabbed and eventually found in a campbell mcdonald's located right on the corner where Woolworth Road which turns into Campbell Road meets Peckham Road , an incident that seems to have been mentioned numerous times in zone 2 letters since then and it is alleged that during these tit-for-tat skirmishes between Moscow and zone 2, Moscow member Tizzy T was also attacked and stabbed in a incident which was supposedly so bad that his heart briefly stopped with him at least for a moment being legally dead tzt luckily survived this incident and supposedly retaliated in a violent attack which quickly drew the attention of the metropolitan police this is said to have led to tizzy t to flee the uk before the feds could catch up with him and to this day it is said never He's back, in fact the only clue to his whereabouts seemed to be a snapchat from Harlem member Spartan Lowsky in 2020 that apparently showed the two of them together in Nigeria anyway despite everything going on in the streets the main the taste.
What fans were getting out of this beef was on wax, as these teams came and went publicly calling each other out on records and information-hungry fans. The animation about the beast appearing in South London gobbled up new songs from both sides, and sometimes things went beyond the lyrics. Zone 2 dropped their songs. The passing of zone 2, which was actually filmed in Moscow's block 17, Brandon Estate, at 7:40 p.m. a. the fact that it was extensively documented in the music video is supposed proof that his operations are not actually active in his Moscow block, of course he dropped his famous song March on Moscow which was one of the first drilling songs of the UK to hit 1 million views and this day despite being shot down by police remains a legendary song in UK punching history.
Moscow also released tracks like City of God, which featured a high-energy performance from GB, where he named numerous operators who had allegedly been injured by members of Moscow by name. here things would continue to go back and forth with members of each side continuing to use their songs to shamelessly brag about the violent attacks they had carried out on their operations and all of this seemingly without a care in the world how incriminating this might sound and eventually, each group respectively got their own tim westwood lullaby session performances which, once again, went wall to wall with specific references to names and claims of attacks that had been carried out against the other side now obviously, all the insults on both sides had everyone involved very nervous and eager to jump into ops and many incidents between these teams in 2017 remain on the streets and i guess to a lesser extent in reddit and youtube comments but finally in 2017 the beef would turn deadly and finally make the papers when a teenage affiliate from zone 2 was killed in middle of pekka now, during the heyday of this beef, incognito was known for spinning blocks on his moped seek ops in broad daylight, even broadcasting this activity on his Snapchat as he was jet black and lou screw as well as zone 2 members, however, rolling in high-populated areas of London with dangerous weapons is a very hot activity and not highly recommended, which is why in May 2017 Moscow's jb 17 was apparently arrested after being caught with a samurai sword in public while being arrested.
It is alleged that a zone 2 member actually witnessed the arrest and while it is not definitively clear exactly who he was, what we do know is that that man's younger brother was a young man named abdi rahman muhammad aka abs now abs he had allegedly been taunting jet black for this arrest something that was taken as the greatest disrespect, around three weeks after samurai sword's arrest, it was alleged that incognito jet black had caught abs eating food outside a chicken shop in Peckham on Southampton Way and around 11 p.m. m. on 2 june 2017 it was alleged that two men approached abs and stabbed him in the chest with a large knife, the suspects fled the scene leaving abs to die outside the tesco in pekka shortly after this, both inco gnito and jet black were charged with murder and set for trial at the old bailly.
This is one of Britain's oldest and most serious criminal courts with a history dating back to before 1800. The trial began in late 2017 and jurors even played music from the defendants that referenced Carrying weapons along with footage of JB being arrested with the sword and with the defendants identified by a friend of Abs who was with him at the time of the murder, however the incognito and jet black went with the defense. that abs's friend was purposely falsely identifying them out of an ongoing grudge and, despite CCTV evidence and witness testimony, the jury believed it and therefore after a trial of Five weeks into January 2018, Incognito and Jet Black were acquitted of murder and considering how largely a brazen attack, this ultimately resulted in a unanimous not guilty verdict. the case is even more blatant on Snapchat explaining abz's connection to Moscow zone 2 beef in response to people who suggested that abs was just a civilian and not involved in the dispute, even going so far as to say that , despite being innocent, whoever committed the crime should be. proud oh civilian he's in there too long obviously im listening like i said but im just stating facts like my man was relevant to the bat she wasn't one of the top two im innocent like i said but he was like get me so whoever left it should be proud of it and it wasn't me im innocent like i said whatever just stop chatting for the marker so you deny your mates and it wasn't just these public statements cheeky on social media. incognito was as bold in his lyrics as he was on his social media, for example, in his piece on lowsky's song, stevie wonder seems to use the details of this incident as a badge of pride referencing dodging a sentence of 25 years yelling incriminatingly at his partner. jet black of defendant habit of carrying and concealing a samurai sword saying he steps in for the kill and both he and jb broke the old block and splattered the man referring to stab i mean incognito he was basically acting like he was completely untouchable, however, eventually Moscow 17 would find they are grieving as well, as it would eventually appear that zone 2 would catch up with their star member committing a crime that many would think is completely unthinkable in a country where guns are totally illegal. . he had already been stabbed by a rival gang member some time ago an incident where a knife narrowly missed his heart and he was lucky to survive and at the time gb was only around 15 16 years old consider that with the type of problems that jb and incognito were going through, so it's no wonder that at a certain point his mother, fearing for his safety, sent gb to jamaica, there he would stay with his uncle in an eff ort to stay out of trouble and practice his rap and gb would spend about a year in jamaica but eventually he got bored, he missed his friends and made the decision to go back to london to join his moscow crew and try to make it as a rapper once again so he would go back to london around On February 5, 2018, and for about three months, he would go on with his life without anything happening, but that would all change on May 5, 2018.
That day, GB had been playing soccer on a field near Brandon. but according to his mother and others who were there that day, word began to spread among the local community that Peckham gang members were driving through the area looking for operations, in fact there were reports of shooting in Pekkum the night before . this is an incident that many believe was carried out by moscow 17. apparently three men riding two mopeds opened fire on an individual on a push bike but missed, so it is highly possible that the day after they members of zone 2 were in moscow looking for retaliation, eventually it would appear that the pekka boys caught up with gb and in a scene that would shock many, they would open fire on him from a vehicle with a shotgun hitting him in the chest and leaving him for the dead members of zone 2 The community frantically tried to get gb medical attention, but sadly it was too late and he would ultimately pass away on the scene.
An ambulance attended the scene. The victim was pronounced dead just before 7pm last night. Next of kin have been informed that no arrests have been made yet after GB murdered Moscow 17 and the local community was absolutely devastated by the locals. they would eventually march through peckham's chant moscow march and moscow 17 would go on to release the dgc tribute song with a posthumous hook performed by gb and the song dedicated to his memory but wa it's not just moscow and the local community reacting to gb's death because after this shocking incident, the metropolitan police decided to crack down on the drill videos, forcing youtube to remove around 30 music videos of various drill acts at the time, many of these being hit songs belonging to moscow 17, including the moscow march which had over a million views shortly after this, the remaining members of mo scow 17 sat down for ainterview with their number one journalist, mr. montgomery, where they mentioned some of the events that had occurred. up to this point discussing both the removal of his music videos and providing a very in-depth perspective on whether or not UK drill music was contributing to violence on the streets, a quote that was misinterpreted and used by many in the mainstream media. of communication but hey let's be honest today big dance how do you think drawn music inserts violence it does influence you have to put your hands up and say dr ew means it doesn't influence that but knife and gun crimes have been happening before Germany long before drawing so if you want to talk about 10 years 20 years but people are still being sent you get it and there are many ways to solve it you could take out youth clubs you can take out a lot of other things invest money in other things to help the community but you don't want to do that you just want to use an excuse like dual music is dual music blackberry music no how about d e you're going to invest money you're going to do some youth centers what can we turn to well there's nothing to turn to later in this covert interview you would continue to be strangely self-aware as you ponder how you could keep yourself safe and change your ways if ser said his mom would tell him to change his friends he says that's never going to happen and ultimately whatever happens the answer to that question my mom would say change his friends but that's not going to to happen so I guess I just don't know what's coming next he's coming more considering the way incognito was talking in this interview it's almost like he knew what was going to happen next because, only two months After this interview was published, unfortunately, Incognito would suffer a similar tragic fate. to gb just a few feet from where his friend had passed after incognito was cleared of killing abs he was said to be a major target but strangely the official version of this story would suggest incognito's fall was a complete coincidence and it has nothing to do with zone 2b not everyone believes this and some of the details are hard to swallow but whatever you believe the facts are 1st august 2018 supposedly incognito and a couple other youngsters from moscow they were hanging out at a place near brandon estate selling drugs warren street to be specific the same street where gb died with this incident literally happening just a few feet away another detail that makes it so hard to comprehend These incidents are unrelated, but at one point, a man in his 30s had been in the area and, according to police, had dialed a phone number associated with the i incognito, one might assume that he had simply been given his number and wanted to pick up what he was selling on the block, but you'll never know if they have some sort of pre-existing relationship after making the call, the man would eventually find himself incognito on Warren Street , it is at this point that the incognito on cctv was seen grabbing the man's arm as one of his sons took his watch and placed it in his pocket, this was the apparent theft of the man's cartier watch, apparently after the watch was taken undercover and his boys fled with the man who had been robbed in pursuit and eventually caught up with a fight that took place.
Knives were taken out and three people were left in the place suffering serious stab wounds, one of them would be incognito, unfortunately he would die 40 minutes after the incident as a result of shock and loss of blood, the man from whom the watch was ultimately responsible for the injuries that ended in cognito life with this incident that apparently has nothing to do with zone 2 meat and while that man was initially charged with murder, he was ultimately acquitted of murder and manslaughter After a two-week trial in old Bayley, the prosecution said the undercover had started but the killer had finally ended it, but the jury ultimately decided the man was defending himself, a position that was likely aided. largely due to the fact that one of the younger members who was there that day apparently carried a large knife on behalf of and incognito in a way, the fact that the incognito murderer was completely acquitted of murder was incredibly poetic considering the fact that only a few months earlier, incognito had also been acquitted of murder in the old bailly in a case that apparently had mountains of evidence against him, but regardless of whether or not this incident had anything to do with zone 2 beef, the murder of two young men on the exact same street in such a short time drew an enormous amount of attention from the police. police and media from here.
The Sun newspaper and other British media outlets began waging a war on drill music specifications. fically singling out the likes of tim westwood smearing him even for giving these instructional rappers a platform to start with and after these incidents and their association with instructional music the metropolitan police expanded their crackdown forcing YouTube to remove even more instructional videos in the following years. even using behavior orders to ban other rigs like West London base 1011 from making music without police approval and while the real rapper's posthumous album of the murdered has become a staple in hip- hop recently, the incognito family actually came out to release a statement that they won't be allowing any more of their music to be released, making fans hopeful to hear their long sentences for the cross mixtape and if the loss of gb e incognito wasn't bad enough, members of moscow 17 would continue to suffer in the months that followed moscow's jet black also ended up in jail for numerous incidents that occurred on the streets during these deadly times, including a madcap police chase in which crashed his car and fled leaving behind a large knife and then, while out on bail for it, allegedly a rival had seen him on the street in Camberwell, got on the pavement and ran over him with witnesses saying that once jetback got up, pulled out a big machete, these incidents would get him jailed and he would receive a lifetime ban from entering pekka, so from here, for a significant amount of time, moscow 17 as a cohesive group or gang would dissolve and lose relevance. and the death or imprisonment of its star members made it all but impossible for the team to gain any significant momentum around this time while capitalizing on the reputations earned by apparently coming out victorious in these violent Zone 2 feuds and many of their affiliates. members like quaing face trizak karma or p.s. issues, for example, di squeezo from zone 2 would end up being found guilty of murder and sentenced to life in prison following a non-gang related incident over some drug money. with zone 2 member mad max reportedly fleeing the uk due to his involvement in that same deadly attack plus some suggested he was also wanted in connection with the gb shooting and while bloodshed from here in the streets between these two groups would become extinct in the stand.
Zone 2 members would continue to disrespect Incognito's memory as well as other Moscow members in songs in subsequent years. disrespecting the tragic murder of his own cousin, in fact, zone 2 has continued to gain influence by mercilessly disparaging his deceased ops by name in numerous songs, most notably. and the 2019 release no sensor, a track made even more devilish by the fact that they played the sonic coin sound effect every time they mentioned a killed op by name, this track was flagged as probably the track of Most Demonic and Offensive Zone 2 Diss Ever Released Unsurprisingly, the track was quickly removed from YouTube by the Metropolitan Police and YouTube released a statement saying they are working with the Met to remove videos that directly incite violence.
However, the song has been re-uploaded multiple times and ironically the Metropolitan Police's attempts to silence this music only garnered more attention, as the removal of the sensorless track led to zone 2 getting general coverage in bbc news with headline punch video naming murder victims banned from youtube only further fueling the idea held by fans that zone 2 is the most demonic and evil set in the uk mock, in fact it almost seemed as if zone 2 knew this was going to happen because very quickly they put out new songs that included similar but censored diss as the dead and censored tracks, which racked up huge view counts from the back of the track, the police didn't remove any sensor today just a small selection of moscow 17 members keep making music like screw and mayski and even these new songs contain lyrics and slurs directed at zone 2 members and insulting their fallen abs-like brothers.
I really wish I would have ended this story by saying that those involved on both sides who were still alive made it through. to find some musical success and ultimately move beyond these feuds, make catchy songs that fans love without insulting the memory of a botched operation, but sadly that's not the case and too much seems to have been spilled blood on both sides by these groups never forget the trauma they went through during the bloody summer of 2018 i am here on warren street the street where gb and incognito tragically l Most of their lives and the fact that they were taken away so young were it makes it all the more painful when you consider how musically talented they were in the years that followed his tragic passing.
We've seen the likes of digadee and hedy one pull it off. in the music industry becoming genuinely successful commercial music artists moving away from the dangerous roadblocks they came from so if there is one thing I hope will keep going young people from tough areas and tough backgrounds like this can realize that there is another way and they can achieve it through music and not suffer the same tragic fate as gb and incognito you
