Galaxy theme in powder coating only, plus random valve covers - Ep 7

May 30, 2021
What's up everyone, welcome back to the channel? Got this episode 7. I'm no stranger to shop life, making a bunch of

valve

covers

today. I think 7

valve

covers

$5, that's a lot. We also had a couple of lip-locks. Don't know. I know how much of that I'm going to show because they're for a client who doesn't want stuff on YouTube, whatever that means, so I'm going to start blowing up these covers and they're all going to be different colors. so it will be fun, let's get started. I've ruined everything, everything degassed, we'll go through now and clean up some of the casting marks on the valve covers, mask everything off and start with the first one we're doing in this case, here's one that's going to be a pain trying to do a

galaxy

effect, you'll need about six different colors, so six different stages of dust.

I'll be honest, I've never done it before. I've done similar things. I think I know what to do. I mean. I think I know a way to do it. I don't know if it's ever been done, so I guess we'll see how it goes. I'm going to take care of this case. There is a preparation. Prepare all the letters and masks. I think that's how it will be. For the best, okay, I removed the K series deck mast, ready to use, the first layers will be heavy silver, actually it's a modified version of heavy silver that I normally use, it's like a very tall metal base, I'll put it in and set it up for a partial Kier and then start going through all these colors.

Hopefully, everything will work out well. Guys, you got the silver base. We'll do a color called majestic purple. Next will be step two of six, so we'll see how it goes. I sprayed the majestic purple and partially cured it, it looks strange, I'm sure you can see the next color. I think it's anodized grape, it's basically going to go in and fill in some of the silver areas, the areas that are still silver and then overlap. in some of the wider areas that still have a bit of silver showing through the purple, purple and blue. I guess technically that will be step three and then we'll move on to the interesting parts.

I think the parts that should make it look. more like a

galaxy

, that's the plan, it looks like this is all coming together so far, I've partially lightened it again with the anodized grape. The fourth step will now be black. In fact, I'm looking, it looks like I'm not going to do six steps. when I'm going to do five unless something goes horribly wrong, it's just going to be black right now just a shiny black and then I'm going to do a chameleon flake on top of that. I think chameleon teal is the current choice, but look at what our chameleon looks like. sapphire, I haven't decided to go up to black yet to do some fill work and make it look a little more EEE galaxy, yeah, I don't know, let's see how this goes, you get the idea.

From what we're working on here, you can see some of these spots that look a little rough. I'm not worried at all. Those are as soon as I make it clear that I'm going to use them on top of this. I'm going to fix a lot of that so I'm not that worried because it's mainly the flake I use in the base coat that does that so I don't know. Hopefully, well, I hope the customer doesn't hate it. I'm just nice. to do this in the hope that you like it, I guess we'll see, I just sprayed the black and forgot to burn it in, but the black is going to look super weird for now, it'll actually just be some kind of filler. in some places it won't even be really visible until you place the Sparkle chameleon on top of it.
Put this back in the oven to start the gearing process and I guess I have to clean these letters up, they're still good, then I'll cure it and I'll throw out the next one and hopefully the last layer on top, well I did something I normally don't I do, I sprayed the ha Texas color with two hot colors, two different chameleon flakes to hopefully make this all work in the end. I haven't cured it. this I still haven't been a part of this yet. I'm just about to throw it in and get started, but I thought I'd show you now that you've seen the whole process and this is kind of the final product, hopefully, no, no, I think this achieves the galaxy effect, you can see the dots.

darks and lights, the chameleon flake, this will actually turn the teal that you see into purple and then there's a pink in there that's going to purple too, so I don't know, I guess we'll see after the people here how I really like it.
They took off my galaxy cover. I'm going to use this unique red camera cover. Actually, this is not for a client. This is, well, there's a long story. I'll actually explain it a little bit later in the video, but this is going to have a color called the rainbow end, which is like a prismatic glow, you're going to remove it next and then I think it actually has three valves. There are covers left, so I would say the Galaxy One took about six hours, maybe a little bit less, about five and a half hours, so behind the ball a little bit now, but don't catch up too quickly, okay, The unique red camera cover is. in the oven, moving on to this Ford cover, so check out my list Sparkle dark gray and then Duke & Duke and green on top, so it shouldn't be like a really dark green with bright highlights, basically let's move on. that right now and leaves us with just two covers left, all right, I have the dark gray metallic.
I think it's the base layer on this Ford valve cover. The next one is Duquesne green, so it's a candy green. I never put it on a dark color before, so I have. I have no idea what it will look like, it should end up being a very dark green with some highlights where all the metal is in the color, so put this color on and see what happens. Well, I have a cover for Dodge 2.4 here, this one is actually for a puff. car, hence the

extra holes that are in here for a custom deflector that goes inside, it's all taped up, all masked off I should say, and I can throw in a color called hacienda red, it's a five o'clock wrinkle red.
Tomorrow, everything is done, the five valve covers. I did it and I'm showing the video of one because tomorrow I'll do something else. I think this is more or less proof. I also got some new gear in one day, so I hope the videos are a little better. Hopefully the audio. now it's fixed in every video or from now on and then for the next few days I have literally nothing but three piece wheel setups so hopefully that doesn't bore me too much removing at least one of those per day so which I hope is just one episode.
One day everyone is pretty unique so there should be some good content like subscribe, comment all the normal stuff and see you in the next episode.
