free junk go kart 1st ride after finishing repairs

Jun 01, 2021
Hello guys, how is it going to try to finish this go-

kart

? We already have two videos on how to bring it back to life and in the last one we ended up changing the engine because the engine that was in it had a crack gas tank and some other problems It didn't have a spare there it is lying around it was on the smaller side I think It was a 5 horsepower not a Briggs it comes with a Briggs starter but the gas tank wasn't good so we went back to the stash and found a more suitable engine, with a little more horsepower because we put a little more tire on it. big there so hopefully they both worked on their own but yeah okay it works but now we just have to tune up and finish all the bits and pieces one is the boat float the float bowl seal has a leak, we're just going to take it down, take care of it, we want to remove the lid, you can see that's where the nest is.

There's still something like that inside, so we'll take the cover off, disconnect the governor engage the throttle and just give it a good once over. You need the kill switch connected. Accelerator connected. I think the brakes work the way we want them to. Check them out and anything else we find as we go, so without further ado, let's get started. You can remove this cover that way. Okay, take out the screw from the back. You have more up here. Now one, two, three, before, let's see if. totally starting to see if we can get that guy out, that's a nest there, huh, that might need something I'm going to do, I love it, I got a trash can and looted some of that trash out of there, hey muscle , dig more.

I want to get rid of the governor's arm anyway, we're not going to use any of it, so this can all go away, but I don't know, there are still some problems, sir, that are coming up now that I said I'll cut the rest of them off, I will remove the governor's arm, right, the believer should separate it, I will divide the case and remove the governor internally, but we are not going to do that now. See my man up there, yeah, hold my burnt ground wire. a mouse, even a ground wire, sit down, there's nothing left of that, what's that shielding around that void?

Removing the muffler is the next step to doing anything, moving the muffler. I think so. I think it wraps it up. I could not. being able to get it out of there the sweet smell of the mouse nest nice to leave that plug in there until you get it out of there but if you have to I just don't like the crap that gets inside don't waste it out of the Now we definitely say they filled that cavity huh , that's a little better. This cable here is supposed to be your quarry. It is a kill wire for the spark.

Stop sucking on the magnet so there are no sparks. be that lever and this is the governor internally like satellite wing weights and a sprocket that is connected to the camp outputs, yeah, so they have a set of weights there and what happens if you speed them up too much, they expand and on It's actually kind of torn apart and then when the pieces come apart, they take out the rest of the engine, so that's the problem with leaving that stuff there. I don't feel like taking it down right now, but I just watch the waves for a moment.
But it will be fine, that will be at some point in the future, if we stick with this engine we will get into that, but for now we are just trying to find out who will have some fun with it, so I don't know. If we're going back, we're probably going to put that plate back on that holds our gas tank bracket and, of course, the starter throttle. We have this cable that goes up, you have this cable that goes up from the accelerator pedal. from this pedal goes from here a metal rod and all it does is it just attaches to that rod, the rods have a return spring right there and then it's normal, like a bicycle cable that goes up, so we could change the length of that if necessary.
It's probably so I would say I'm going to take care of the Bowl float first, take it off and we'll start putting some parts back on it and figure out how we're going to set up our throttle, I think so. It was just that the ball seals rolled, I'm not sure what, although the last time we ran, it was leaking around, I felt something and turned on a light and inspected that bit more closely, that feels like a very poor seelix that It's not even big enough to make contact. all the way let me go see what else I have actually no we have we have the other carburetor that came out of this one maybe you can go steal it maybe just take it off look at it like we don't feel that. promising you just unscrew that and I don't know, I think I will, although I might as well unscrew the carburetor and turn it upside down so we can have gravity on our side holding that seal, just hitting you in the eye, sorry. about that, not sure where we had that seal, I'd say it weighs the backwards way it stretched when removed, luckily being there feels better too, nice, doesn't move from side to side, I guess it could fill the float.
Bowl, yeah, shake it a little. You know, I'm going to try some fuel. See if it's a piece. You can wash it a little. It's like it's okay. Let's eat that ground wire, the shutdown wire. I did good, let's throw a Holmes meter at it, make sure where they can see it lest I can't move them, yeah, yeah, we ground them, we should go, what's it like? Let's look somewhere on the motor connected to then we have the signal wire, we get a strange bunch of resistance, guys, let's flip the switch a couple of times, open that clothes with something like, let's flip that switch a couple of times.
I need to get a good look at it, I don't know if they are connections or something worse. It's just bullshit, I'm going to say it's this, which is a little iffy, it works and it doesn't work like now there it goes, no, it's working and you move it it's like, yeah, yeah. I'd say it's questionable whether all that wire up and around here could probably also just be the way the switches connect it to a Chechen's body, but all that rust in there I don't look into a bit more. The tool for the right job is always to grab a wrench.
I may have to do it. I think it's very rusty. What I want to do is put a meter on the switch. to be doing on the switch, I see I have a bad switch or just okay, we can go outside, you're going to throw this on the other end of the tangled wire, the body is still showing a lot of resistance, so open, yeah, which one has three notes, it's open all together and move it, that's bullshit. I'm sure we could probably soak it in oil or something, not really, because it still had the cable, let's do it, we'll check it 37 times in different ways. before coming to a conclusion, I think the switch is okay, it's turning me into a liar.
There we'll look and see if you have another switch, if we don't we'll shoot some goo on the inside of that one. To help those contacts, we're going to go clean everything. I'm going to run a new cable. I'll make sure we have a good ground here. Okay, so all of those are prepped and greased, and we'll re-tie, wrap, and connect them. Shot some oil into the switch, if you press the switch down it will open a cavity at the top because it has a spring so you can push it in and I'll show you that you push it in and then you can push oil in. around it to the contact point so it should be fine and rewired.
I use the same wire over the seam that's in good shape, I run it around a screwdriver back here and you turn it into a spring and then again more grease on the end. connectors and back to the coil, so one thing I thought about after turning off the camera is that this thing has rear suspension, it's not fixed, the rear engine mount is not fixed to the body and they all rotate here and rotate well on the shock absorbers. the shocks have rubber bushings so they don't make a very good transfer to this cage and this is a pivot point with rust on it so between here and here it has to go through this hinge so that may also be part of the resistor, so what I'm going to do is just grab a self-tapper somewhere and I'll run south, drill them in the air, probably drill it here, run a ground wire through these two just so that Let's have a better connection. through this joint, go a little fast with the throttle, Andrew, we're really improvising, we clamp the tab up here, we shoot oil down the original cable to tie wraps to keep it in place and we go to where the rail location was. the spring comes down and then I wrapped this spring around the end of the cable we'll see how it holds up and then trying to get a straight line for the recoil I just bent it like a bracket to hold a spring to put the tension in the right direction , that's good, but it's good that we have a working emergency shut-off switch.
You may need it. It's nothing more than a hammer and a very good thing, adjustable in fact. I think we're all together again. That's the seat all the way back and that's where I placed the water so there should be plenty of headroom and us big kids are really tall. We need to look at it completely backwards. I think we are ready to continue. Everything is buttoned up again. Take the The accelerator fits very well on it. The break I just lubricated seems to be blocking the belt. It looks like a band lock. I don't know what it contains as material, but I guess we'll find out.
I think we've gotten to the point where we can put some gas in it, turn it on, that's what it does, I might have a weak spark problem when I was checking the plug and putting it back together, making sure I knew if the switch was on and off. the spark was good, it was a little iffy on the weak side, but it was sparking at the plug, it was sparking more into the chassis and metal than through the arc, so it may just be a bad plug, but let's go throw a little gas and make sure there are no leaks to give it a try, so you may have to step on the gas pedal to get it in range, but let's put it on the choke, this thing is that idle now, you know, I'm sure what We're going to get you can find a sweet spot now we're probably going to have to put something in.
It should do something that is what you are actually going to do. Which is nothing on the ground. He'll read your foot up to the accelerator pedal and pushing it and just giving it a tug yeah, how about we design a well calibrated screwdriver to see if that gave it a little bit of gas, that's fine again, let's see if I increase that idle speed to scare me oh yeah, yeah, like- -Go ahead, no, yeah, yeah, turn around, okay, yeah, I got a lot higher than that. It wasn't too high. We need to do some work on the bricks.
That was close. I think we need to fix the brakes. I take that rear tire out here's the brake set the brake pedal pull that cable works to stop the drum good the problem is that guy broke and straightened I ran I don't know if there will be enough meat in there I was trying to maybe clean and We will solder a washer again. I'm not sure about that, yeah I don't have one of these so I have work with which we can't, so what do you think if we take and loop it? cable through there, so we have a piece of cable going up, we pass it and come back to this cable.
I'm going to use two cable ties to hold it up, something like that, hold the dog runner, so if you wrap it around there and let's go back to this one, no, we think it would hold up a lot better than that cool desk and something like that, yeah, you're looking pretty Well. I was debating whether to take off his jacket, I thought that would be good for that. that pivot point there plus it's been pinched like that before I don't think it's really going to cause it to come off that thing that's pretty hard I'll stab the pedal a couple of times you're hard though let's just make sure, but I don't think so, yeah, I was trying to turn it on the donut in the driveway because it's a rear position, if you try to turn the front, just plow, you know, but if you lock the rear up, you can whip. turn and make a tighter turn.
I tried to do that, but there's nothing easy left to get the planer out, yeah, I'm out of gas, go ahead, oh yeah, there might be something there, something's causing the stutter, that's a wonder, I think the carburetor. I'll try to lower the bolt one more time. It might have some water or something. It shouldn't, but we are deer. I don't think it's sad if a spark cuts some. I think it's fuel, but we. I'll figure it out. It works well. The brakes don't work. You can turn it on itself. Create it for this video. For now, it's over and it's pretty fun.
I'll take you to where the real property is and we could open. in the field instead of being careful with all the lawn ornaments, okay guys, so that's what we were going to wrap up with. I want to thank everyone for hanging out and then I'll just be a friend, the garage in the yard until Then see you Hey guys, it's 2vw night, we're keeping an eye on my friend Musti 1 right now there you go, that's cool, you had two things, you need a seat belt, make some noodles or something to cover yourself, stick your elbows in and when If you're interested in that, that's not the way you went, your bosses' gas tank, the first step might be a little difficult, the end, kids.
