Jun 01, 2021
class="paragraph">Hey guys, I'm at JFK airport on my way to Taiwan, finally my food mecca. Usually when I fly, I buy the cheapest ticket imaginable... like I'm

flying

two layovers just to save ten bucks. But I always wanted to see what it was like to fly

first

class

at least once in my life and after much convincing myself I finally pulled the trigger so on my

trip

to Taiwan I am

flying

first

class with Korean

airlines

So far, the experience has been quite pleasant, I did not have to wait to check in at the counter. The person at the counter even offered to wrap my luggage in that thing that looks like plastic wrap which I really don't think is going to do much good.

I mean a few layers of thin plastic. What does that really do for you? So now I'm heading to the lounge to check that out and of course I didn't eat anything for a good part of the day because I expect good food there. This looks quite normal, just a normal salon does not It does not look so impressive. I'm still looking for my food. This could be it. Great coffee maker, although I don't drink coffee. Oh look at this pile of Shin noodles. Ah, sun chips! Oooooh ~~ Milano Cookies, I love them! Some Oreos Some Newtons...

Ah, some cakes, that looks good and I guess this must be the good stuff... um, I don't know because I don't really drink. Oooh Cheese is in the fridge. Let's see what kind of cheese oh I'm not very knowledgeable about cheese either, but I'll take a little of that. This is so stupid: I'm looking through a first class hall bathroom. Oh great, okay. You have plenty of space in case you need to do your business here, and there is some type of spray for you in case you need it.

Know? What's a bit disappointing is that you think in the first class lounge you're going to get some work space or more power outlets. And where are the plugs? I mean no outlets I haven't seen before but here are some beers and check this out this is really interesting huh! Water in a pudding cup. And kind of... I like this This is a good rice drink *laughs* "first class food". some sun boats, a uh roast beef sandwiches and two cup noodles and an amazing

korean

rice drink Guess what? I'm going to get some cheese. Alright, for some reason I was hoping for steaks and lobster, but that wasn't the case and Guess noodles would have to do, but I bought two of them.

So I'm starving and my first class experience so far I have to say that the lounges... you know, it was a typical lounge if you've ever been to an airport lounge, they don't really have outlets . The table look at this is made of glass, so I need to do some work, and my mouse isn't going to work on this The only workstation, I see it's here It's like two kindergarten workstations, and they embarrass you to the somehow put two things in the corner It's like having a

time

out here. We really can't go wrong with Shin Ramyun, I mean things are good.
Do you know how this case is? This tastes like I spent a lot of money on plane tickets and all I got was a cup of Ramen noodles. The

time

has come to try this water with milk snack. I mean, maybe this is too common and I'm stupid, but I've never actually drank water out of this little plastic pudding cup before. Very good... It tastes like water... So I really wanted to have a good meal. here. I didn't know what to expect and so far it's just ramen noodles and cold sandwiches. I hope on the flight I can get better food.
Alright, now I'm going to find a workspace to do some work, and then I'll see you guys when I get on the plane This is my little seat TV All these windows for me, and there's the chair, and here's a closet for me jacket and my bag. They just brought in some goodies, these headphones… Honestly, I'm a little disappointed… I can't keep them so… strictly no aircraft.” Bose headphones. A little amenity kit… This should be fun, and a little spray bottle for my face I guess this controls my seat and this is low on storage It looks like a little thing that looks like PSP here oh great Yeah I could definitely get used to this I ordered my usual mineral water and got it they brought in like a fancy tin let's see what's in here we have hand and body cream I mean I'm not familiar with this kind of thing so I don't know if it's a good brand or not it's probably "Davi Napa" sounds like classy We have some aftershave Oh great lip balm I need it because after Aspen(?) my lips are completely chapped Cooling eye gel...I'm not sure what this is and I'm not very and sure how to do it use it... but... nice to have Face cream, interesting A little eye mask, never used this because I don't like things on my face when I sleep Very good, this is really cool .
Alright. It looks like a very nice toothbrush and probably the cutest tube of toothpaste you've ever seen. And a very small shoehorn. You know, this bag is very pretty. I think now I can use it only for future

trip

s. This bag is very pretty. I mean, it has slots for everything, it's a nice bag. They have brought pajamas, so yes, I'm going to change into these because yes, why not. Let's look inside this little booklet here. This is it, jackpot. This is a menu of the foods they have here, and I'm glad I didn't eat as much in the lounge, so I had dinner here.
Check it out. That's my dinner menu. Tuna loin tartare with chives and grilled scallops. I don't like to eat anything raw. Entrée: Korean bibimbap grilled cod fillet with herb cumbles served with dill cream sauce, sweet pumpkin puree and greens. Sounds good. Shrimp dumpling noodle soup Seasonal fresh fruit, choice of bread, very good Omija punch, don't know what it is Refreshments: ramen with sides, freshly made cookie. Breakfast: It's Korean oxtail soup with yogurt and side dish... can you see that? Those are my go-to breakfast items here: scrambled eggs with potatoes. Okay, looks like for dinner I'll probably have bibimbap, or grilled cod, or a bowl of ramen.
Again, I was hoping for steak or something and this is pretty good. This is a lot of wine and I totally wasted it because I don't drink, but if I did I would abuse this. I just have to say your service here has been top notch, well you guys don't see much of this because I don't want to film like the hostesses and other staff but as soon as I got there they let me in. my seat and they hung my coat for me in that little cupboard you saw they asked me if I wanted a drink, I got a mineral water They brought me my pajamas and just now the captain personally came to greet me They also brought a selection of today's paper in case of i would like to read the news you know one thing that has always struck me is how the first class bathroom looks like and here is the automatic sink Little flowers this is great you have mouthwash razors shaving cream lotions Bathroom is bigger , and you have a little seat here in case you don't want to sit in your own seat.
It's probably twice the size of a normal airplane bathroom. This is really cool here. They saw that? See how it's floating like a little triangle? Now the reason this is great is every time I come here people use this all the time but every time I come here every time someone walks in here and uses the toilet paper the hostesses come and fold this in a little triangle because you know that just having regular toilet paper shaped like that, that's not civilized, you can't have that. These are the pajamas that feel really good. They are very soft, very cottony, they are long-sleeved.
These remind me of Japanese school uniforms where you button up the top. I don't know how this works, but I think it's a door. I think I can close that when I go to sleep I checked it, here is my appetizer It looks very nice. Just the smallest little bottle of olive oil plus vinegar Braised beef, some pickled radish and some pickled cucumbers for the kimchi, and then little slices of seaweed So this is a seaweed soup It's rich and light. Deconstructed beef stew, big chunks of beef, carrots Try my bibimbap I mean is this the best bibimbap I've ever had?
No. Not bad for bibimbap served on a plane. I have a feeling this is going to be very tasty because it's very spicy, and the sauce is very good here. Wow, that was very good. Wow, I can eat like 20 pieces of that. This is really cool. They're turning my thing into a bed So there it is, there's a blanket, a little mattress, there goes my door, the doors close Alright, this is my little room now I'm going to get some sleep and I'll see you guys in the morning . Good night. Hello guys good morning. I just woke up.
I think I got about six to seven hours of sleep and it's definitely the best sleep I've had on a plane. I usually won't be able to sleep, but I was super comfortable. The bed was super comfortable. It's like being in a hotel or being at home. . I got up, he gave me a toothbrush and toothpaste. I brushed my teeth and then hot cookies were thrown at me. Breakfast time, I have some cereal, some croissants and banchan. I haven't had banchan with cereal before so that's interesting. I also ordered some oxtail soup, never had it for breakfast either.
Looks like some hot sauce and onions. Get in there. The oxtail soup has no salt. You have to add your own salts to give it the flavor you like. It's pretty good. The spice is spicier than I thought it was going to be, which is awesome. It's like a good kick in the morning Seoul, South Korea. It's really cool. I wish I had time to go looking. But I only have a couple hours before my transfer. This airport is beautiful, so clean and nice. It's also like five in the morning here. So there's no one here.
I'm in the first class lounge in Seoul, South Korea. Let's take a look at this place. Let's see if it's better than JFK's. I see plugs right away, that's a plus. Look at this. Wow. This is delicious, Haagen-Dazs ice cream and Check this out, did you know that Haagen-Dazs makes green tea ice cream? Shower room with massage facilities I guess I'll check. Let's take a look. You have your towel set. Look at those aftershaves. Nice bath. Wow, this is a very nice shower. That? Alright, I think I'm going to spend some time here, I'm in a men's room, and I just discovered this, check it out.
That is by far the most elegant toilet I have ever seen. What am I supposed to do here? What better way to spend a couple of hours at the salon than to simply sit in a massage chair and then munch on some Haagen-Dazs green tea ice cream? You know, I feel like these machines can easily kill you because if they malfunction you just push them really hard and you're like dead. I think the machine is trying to kill me That's enough This looks great. This is a multi-tiered steamer, and it looks like it has kimchi mandu in it.
Maybe they're kimchi buns. Seafood shaomai and pork mandu. Also, here we have some mushroom porridge. I think I'll skip that one. I'm about to board my flight to Taiwan so it concludes my first class experience and overall it was very nice, obviously it's first class, who doesn't like that? As for comfort, the bed was super comfortable. As for the food, it was good. It wasn't like you knew spectacular food. It wasn't like something I would be thinking about. I think the thing that stands out is really the service, like when I was on that flight, the flight attendant would check on me, maybe every five minutes, she'd walk by, I can just see the kind of look on her face to see if she needed anything.
It was almost too much for me because I'm still not used to that kind of thing. I'm not used to people waiting for me. The one in New York, the one at JFK, was just mediocre. But this one is really nice, it has massage machines, it has crazy commode chairs. I'm not going to go into details about it, but it was a very comfortable experience. I always wanted to try what the first class was like. Would I ever do it again? Probably not because just this one time, I had to basically use all my points AND I had to pay extra money on top of that, so it's definitely for people who have a lot of money And I'll tell you, this is going to be really hard to fly economy again, because after a 16-hour flight, I'm fully rested, I'm ready to go, so when I go to Taiwan, I might even go to a night market tonight and shoot a video of the night market tonight Because I literally feel like there's asleep in my bed where i slept in a hotel room i am completely ready to go AND i felt even better after getting that massage in that massage chair until that thing tried to kill me.
So that was my first class experience with Korean

airlines

and I hope it was interesting and fun for you guys to watch. Very good, I'll see you in Taipei. Later
