, we don't know yet, but we're backing out. the distributor we're taking the carburetor out we have a spare distributor a spare carburetor and a spare cable this is kind of let's see if we can get it running fast and get it running so prepare for a Jam error, prepare for a Jam error, yeah believe it or not, I bought my 67 Ghia, it's been over two years and I've never had my own Volkswagen to drive yet, so I hope this one gets up and running soon.

I'm going to order the brake components. I'll look into it in the next few days and put all new brakes on it and get it running. Yeah, I just put that car back in there to see what it looked like, but it looked like the previous owner tried to clean the carburetor and maybe he did. Some other shit, I don't know what that guy was thinking, did you see how old that fuel filter was? So there's a dirty distributor, the fuel filter, I mean, it's a mess, bring me the other card and bye-bye everyone. Here's the new carburetor, it's a pretty sweet Sollux, what does this do?, a thirty thirty thirty one, yeah, it's a beautiful, beautiful car, so guys, if you found a car like this, it's been sitting for ten , twenty, thirty and forty years old and would like to try to achieve it. up and running quickly, you know, instead of rebuilding the carburetor, you could go ahead and buy a new carburetor.

You can buy them for as little as $100 depending on the model. I spent a little more on this one because it's a good Sollux unit, but I know the dealer was like fifty dollars a carburetor. 100 blocks. You could get it started for a couple hundred dollars with a new spark plug coil and you know that as long as there isn't anything major wrong with the car, you could get it started. We don't know the case of this one yet, we

will

find out, so hang on, I hope this engine is fine. Those cables look pretty dirty.

Have you already taken out these beautiful spark plugs? Look how beautiful. It looks too pretty for that. engine, yeah, let's start getting your leaks back, it won't seal properly, there it goes, here we go, mm-hmm, that'll clean up nicely, let me hit this a little bit with the yeah, I'm ready to take this out. take it out quick, wait, there you go, they've been there a long time, yes, it looks pretty original, it looks like the ones that came out of Rusty's, yes, yes, one of Rusty's was very tight; you need a shorter extension, it was this fire. retardant starboard starboard yes, the table or another no, sorry, sorry, no, they're not, I thought that's why they put them there, do that, oh man, look at the damn coal there.

Wow, oh shit, can you see it pretty bad? How is that? running oh this one is cute yeah guys number 3 the one I saw and that's because I think it's the one that has my best look right too bad compared to the last one where are you tiny or diluting your tiny ? That's tight, yeah, that's tight, yeah. right, your bits not before, that's why I have to lengthen them, yes, you need to be given a little more leverage to cut new thread, yes, it's working, WD there, you need what you put the teeth, you put the other one, oh yes, I mean.
I can do it the old fashioned way I don't have your 15, you don't put up the poles Oh, little hamburgers like a doctor's, they have something in them when they come across I don't have anything, oh yeah, it looks like the ground wire in your stomach they were trying to do the digging, that's how you two came out because the battery tree is a little

rusty

, yeah, that's why we're at Ace Hardware next to our house, because everything is from a rented hot weather table, it's like it's in the sidewalk, yes. like a 90 degree angle so you can get to the next section better, yeah, I'm not the one behind it, yeah, that's like that's what I was saying, that's how we can make this work for the shortest amount of time that know. and money, what is the minimum amount of money and time we have to dedicate to this?
Yeah, you should be able to get the full break set for I don't know, like $400 or something. I'll run back you know depending on brain bandwidth yes things are happening fast it's like NASCAR warmed up the choke yes we need to change it later but it was only for two I started the engine yes yes I can get a new one hello , I made them in the workshop, how do you do it? Okay, cool, my own rice got all the Cheerios to put in place, so now let's go get the battery, yeah, and there's a line to go from yours, so here, yeah, yeah, 'cause I gotta clean the tank, yeah okay, probably have to replace the. lines, you took the oh yeah, take the sending unit just to see what it's like, yeah, oh, that thing, now you stick it back in, what do you do?
We use a Loctite or something that changes, yeah, this is really going to be, you know, quote unquote. Daily driver you know I'm going to use this more so I'd rather put something new out there so we're just putting the neck on and sending it back to be restored yeah that would be great because it's pure bird point right yeah. It doesn't matter that this is loose right now, that's just a little, no thanks, yes, you feel like you're dating, so we keep it quiet. I have the fire extinguisher clip, so we're temporarily hooking this up to figure out what to put my gas tank through.
I ran the gas tank and all the old fuel lines go straight to the tank and then I blow mine into the carburetor which is high octane so it should hurt it real nasty okay guys

first

time starting in 45 years , something like that was in 1974, yes, come on. Look, we have power here, although yes, yesterday, yes, let me see that the shutdown time is aligned. Yes, there is already a car full of fuel. Yes, I'm going to be right, guys. Spring, wait. Okay, try again. Yes, I think one of the masts broke. Okay, take this house, guys, we're trying, for some reason we're not getting any spark, so it's getting a little late.
Dennis had to run, but man, it came through here like a hurricane, so anyway it was fun, I got the carburetor. to the distributor to the coil, there's something going on, there may be a bad ground or something we're not getting, so we're going to play with that more in a couple of days, but I have to clean up this mess, so stay put. tuned into the next one, we'll see what happens, there are the old parts, we'll keep them and maybe send them to old jobs. I have Edie working on them to clean them. It would be kind.
It's cool to reuse the originals but man it was so exciting just hearing the rotation was cool bye guys see T in the garage it's a couple days later we click and start the car we think it's the capacitor let's see what Come on, stay tuned. alright guys let's see if we can get this started apparently it hasn't been started in over 45 years if you look at it I think we've said it before I mean you can tell just by looking at the land and everything here. Very unpleasant, Dennis and I tried to get it working the other night and for some reason we couldn't get any spark so hopefully we can change this capacitor and we

will

get spark and this will work and then we can move on. to finish the brakes, so hold on, let me change this capacitor and let's see what happens.
Well, we're going to need to remove the distributor to change that capacitor. It looks like it's on the back so I'm hoping I can do it without messing something up so this is one of those cheap ones you know I think the capacitor distributors made in China sorry I got some dirt in there somehow God of anyway, we need to loosen this nut back here, I think it's 15 millimeters and we can get to the capacitors. in the back, I mean, maybe I can reach it, maybe I can get a shorty that's a flat head. I better get a shorty back there, that way we don't have to remove the distributor, let me try to die okay, I got this. a small stubby screwdriver, let's see if we can unscrew it.
I don't think we can do it, it's pretty tight back here, no, that's not going to work, okay, let's look at sizes I think are large, thirteen, I can't even. Go on, it's in a weird place, let me show you what I'm trying to get through here, it's pretty tight back there, but there's a little bit of a hard to see nut back there holding the distributor clamp and you see it. Let's see, that's what we're trying to get to, so hold on, it's pretty hard to get to, so I've got this swivel adapter with an extension here, let's see if we can get in there, it's pretty tight.
I don't even know how Denis got that in there. I guess he wasn't paying attention. I think that's how we did it. Okay, let's see if we can get this out without messing anything up. I'll try to get a general idea. from where I was hopefully I'll get back in, alright guys here's the capacitor that we think is faulty and then here's the replacement so I hope it works apparently these cheaper distributors are known to come from the factory with defective capacitors, so get what you need. pay for sometimes guys that's pretty tight this one's a lot softer this one's hard it's always something cool hey guys let me know if you see spark awesome yes I think I saw spark that's a good thing okay guys I finished cleaning the old distributor clean the points it comes back to install because the new one is garbage and it seems that we are creating sparks.
I don't know, I didn't try from the beginning, I just wanted to do it. put new components on it, you know, a new carburetor, a new distributor, a new coil, the carb and coil are nice, the distributor I got was a cheap Chinese junk, basically, I'm one to keep things original and maintain them in stock, and you know, they just made things last back then and now they don't, so we've got spark, we've got a new carburetor, we've got a new coil, I've got the old distributor in there, we've got new wires, new plugs and we've got spark , so We should have it on, let's put the spark plug back in and see if we can get fuel into the carburetor and get it going.
Wait guys, let's see what happens. Okay, let's put some fuel in the carburetor. It's getting a bit. My friend Mike got me hooked. Let's go with this cool and good Mike, go check out his channel, okay, that should put some fuel in the hole, let's try it again, yeah, okay guys, hold on, I'll give you a different angle here, that It's a pretty good angle, maybe it's necessary. a little more fuel, let's get a little more fuel in here, he's thirsty after 45 years, you know? Also, this is a new carburetor, so it's good, be careful with the head, okay, let's try it well, the timing may be off, a little fuel, I don't.
I don't know if it would help to connect the vacuum in advance or not. The timing could be off. It seemed like it wanted to start from the beginning and then or where is the top dead center. Let's see, yeah, awesome, cool, give us a little more fuel. I asked my wife to help me turn the key, let's see if this works okay, go ahead baby, okay, wait, it doesn't seem like it's getting fuel, but fuel is coming in here, okay, try again, damn helicopter. Try it again, it sounds like it's starting to work, try it again, just let it go, don't turn it, don't turn it back, yeah, just twist it and then it'll jump back up, yeah, okay, okay, again, it's good.
Go ahead, okay, let's go
