FINAL 2020 NFL Mock Draft with Trades Included!

May 01, 2020
It's time to put the Cincinnati Bengals on the

mock

draft

clock as the first overall pick and the

2020

draft

is going to fill that blank, well I'm not going to go crazy here and neither are the Cincinnati Bengals going to do the Lo Smart is what we thought a long time ago and to pick the best quarterback in this year's draft and it's LSU's Joe Burrow. Joe Barrow transferred from Ohio State to LSU in 2018, a regular season and then he was spectacular in 2019, one of the heisman trophies 60 touchdown passes that lead lsu to the national championship and rich when I see it it jumps off the screen the ability to making poisonous plays the pinpoint accuracy and then you see the toughness that joe burrow brings to the table as we move towards the The video can show you exactly what I'm talking about.

They love to go empty in Lsu. They made 86 percent of the plays because Joe Burrow has the vision to see the safety vacate the middle of the field. You have your slot receiver. and justin jefferson in a vertical drop, that one perfectly over his shoulder again justin jefferson working in the middle of the field joe brother's outstanding ball placement and anticipation how about that toughness we mentioned stay there, don't lower your eyes, throw the ball correctly? on the money in the second playing against the main competition pocket awareness and movement go up feel it see the back post and again throw a beautiful ball if you want to criticize joe burrow you can do it here sometimes he doesn't have the perfect field shot but he had such variety of talent at the wide receiver position that could have gotten away with it, but I think this is an exceptional pick for the Cincinnati Bengals and for the sixth time the Bengals are using a first-round pick on a quarterback, but only the second time and the first time since the last time they did it as first overall pick in the draft, so now washington is second overall and ron rivera's first selection as head coach there will be who well Just as I am wearing shorts at this rich time, it's going to be a young chase, they're not going to trade this pick, they're going to take the best player in the draft and once again, it's a buckeye from Ohio State, we saw that.

Last year, Nick Bosa made an immediate impact for the 49ers becoming the fifth first-round pick on that defensive front for the Niners. Well, guess what, now the Washington Redskins can play five-on-five because they have five first-round picks chasing Young. off the line of scrimmage the fact that he is capable of finishing once he reaches the top of his career that is what separates him and for our comparison it is difficult to find guys that compare him athletically but miles garrett is the closest thing that I came up with it and we've seen the impact it's had at the next level.

Let's go to the video and see. I just want to show one game, a game where he had no sacks. This is against Clemson and people tried to criticize him in this game. Well, look. all the pressure he generates up and down here coming off the edge to hit a big hit on Trevor Lawrence now you can't see that slide move that Bose has made famous as Larry Johnson taught them there in Columbus getting pressure. How about you want to loop him and stun him? He can close quickly, take a big hit, and see it a second time right then and there.

The effort. I love the effort with which Chase Young played. He could easily turn it off in the end. from the season that didn't happen, you see him retrace his steps and take the field, he's the best player in the rich draft and to me, this is an obvious pick for the Washington Redskins and I'm just saying I'm wearing Shorts right now to daniel the penn stater and michigan stater, who are producing this show for nfl network, revel in the fact that i have to read this forum about ohio state university's dominance at this position and how they have been sending game changers to the nfl and just like nick bosa is going after young second overall in this draft, now his

mock

draft will include some

trades

.
I wonder if this is the spot with the Detroit lines third overall where we could see a trade on Thursday night, I think it's very possible. I think they would like to move out of the third overall pick. I'm just not sure they can find a dance partner. You've seen some reports, maybe the Miami Dolphins, maybe the Chargers, and getting a quarterback, I don't see that happening, I think they'll end up having to stick around and pick and when they get rich, you'll be glad to know it's another chestnut of indies, it's jeffrey okuda, the cornerback from ohio state, who is the best cornerback. in this year's draft class, this is the Detroit Lions team last year against the pass that was dead last against the pass, they were 28th and on third defense, he helps there with Okuda, we can pick to number four, Dave Gettleman, we have a great feeling.
Going to offensive lineman, I think Tristan Wurst will be the pick there, a very safe player, I don't think he's the best tackle in the draft, but I think he fits like Dave Gettleman, who has been coached extremely well at Iowa and is ready to step in. and he starts as a rookie there for the giants, okay now we have ten big guys coming off the board like crazy after Joe Bros starts us and we

ly find ourselves at the place where the Miami Dolphins are picking the Dolphins, they have top three. first round draft picks in this draft, we're going to take a look at all the teams with multiple first round draft picks later, in the top ten, you have the jaguars, first of two spots, the raiders, the 49ers and the Vikings, the dolphins. they have three picks uh because they traded Laramie Tunsil they traded Minka Fitzpatrick so they got the first round picks from the Texans and the Steelers and the question has always been did they trade those guys to accumulate all these first round draft picks. picks to make sure they get the quarterback they've supposedly coveted for some time, you say right now they can choose between tua and justin herbert, who do you think they're going to take here?
Well it really is a toss up but I think they ended up going with Justin Herbert, the whole tank for two went out the window just like Sam's stink went out the window for the Cleveland Browns and they ended up taking Justin Herbert, who just makes him healthier, I honestly like him. to improve as a player, but I think Justin Herbert, when you hear reports that they are a little divided in the room, I think it makes sense, he has the size and athleticism of a big arm, the only thing I want to see from him. it's just those words leave him free play a little freer a little more aggressive that will be the challenge for the dolphins to get that out of justin herbert but i think this is a coin toss whether it's yours or if it's herbert well if it's herbert on thursday at night this would be one of the first shocking moments of the

2020

draft in which the dolphins would have had a chance with tuatango vailoa and they let him pass according to your drill do the analysis on local radio Here in Los Angeles for the Chargers with our friend Matt Money Smith on the mic on play-by-play, so you know the Chargers organization very well.
Do you think they're happy to see two fall right at six? Well, I think it's up in the air in terms of what they do when you look at it potentially people are talking about an inning, I just don't see them passing this kid. You have Philip Rivers now at Indianapolis Colt, they haven't needed the position. I know you like tyrod. Taylor, but I don't see how they pass up Tuatanga Vailoa to be the captain and leader of this football team for the next decade and I'm pretty sure Money is already practicing his two touchdown calls.
What I love about his quick feet. quick eyes quick release you know, Mark Burnell is someone he reminds me of and we'll get to the durability issues in a moment, but he's a rich special player and I think if he were healthy this would be a no-brainer. We wouldn't even be discussing whether he would be the choice here or not, but as things stand now it's up in the air, I just think he's too good to pass up, so maybe I wouldn't do it if there wasn't one. any of those injury questions and obviously in our current climate outside our doors, um without being able to have all the teams do physicals individually, he might not even be sixth overall, he could leave a lot sooner if he doesn't go here, However, as?
How far do you think he could fall tomorrow night? Well, we've seen it the last few years where you have a high-ranking quarterback that starts to slide and you know, I don't know, you talk about the pick Jacksonville Jaguars. Number nine, that's a possibility, but I don't think it'll be a success. You know, our friend Mike Mayok has two picks between 10 and 20. I'm not so sure they would do it and then you start getting into an interesting conversation. which is thinking about the connection between bill belichick and nick saban and the New England Patriots picking 23rd is uncharted territory for them where they are used to picking normally, they could be in a position where they could move up if he started to veer towards the teenagers and you could see two as a patriot, so imagine that scenario, okay and then obviously, tua and um, his injury history, how worried do you think everyone is with all that DJ?
Well, I've talked to a lot of teams, I still have. for a team to tell me they let them down and of course I don't talk to teams that need a quarterback. I'm not going to get good information there, I talk to the other teams that had the opportunity to get the physical at the time. they matched and they felt confident that they were comfortable with where tua was so when I heard that I thought some people worry about recurrence, I think some doctors disagree with that but in the short term it seems like he will be able to do it. get to 100 percent and you should be fine, so we talked about the kind of doomsday scenario for the tour that would fall to the New England Patriots, I just don't think that's going to happen, so now there are six of us. pick in your mock draft that leaves Matt Rule in his first draft as head coach of the Carolina Panthers, seventh overall, what are they doing here?
I think they can choose between Auburn's Derrick Brown, the defensive tackle, or this guy here, Isaiah Simmons, the talented safety. slash linebacker from clemson and i think he would fit perfectly with matt rule, he covets speed, he did it when he rebuilt temple, he did it when he rebuilt baylor and there is nothing faster than isaiah simmons, now we go to the eighth, pick the arizona cardinals for run the offense they want to run, they have to improve up front jedrick wills of alabama plug and play played on that right side at the college level, starts at right tackle for the arizona cardinals and then why not rich?
Let's have some fun. I have a trade here with the ninth pick. The Atlanta Falcons come out and get Derrick Brown. A lot of people think they're going to come get the corner and CJ Henderson from Florida, but me. I think Derek Brown is an exceptional player. You could put him next to Grady Jarrett. It will be fun to watch and I can show you what I'm talking about and what he brings to the table as a football player. Derek Brown is huge and he reminds me a lot. from vendema consu, you see the range he has, he can reset the line of scrimmage, put those hands in, get the ball off you, he's got great inside movement as a pass rusher, a little up and down here, look at him coming underneath, here, just the raw stuff . power texas am had no answer for that another example of his power see him lift it off the ground lift a security guard off the ground and then the athleticism to find place pick up the ball a small obstacle from derrick brown showing off and

final

ly my favorite bag of the year look at it throw damien lewis who will probably be a 3rd round pick at lsu guard, throw him back to joe burrow to be a dominant player, i think he will go in this range, i know atlanta wants to move up.
I don't know who they want to promote as rich, that's why I have them moving up and getting derrick brown. Well obviously it would make sense to put someone to apply pressure in the middle if you need to face Drew Brees and now Tom Brady twice a year in the nfc south that's getting more and more difficult with each passing day it seems now isaiah simmons what an intriguing perspective that is that was the conversation we were having for much of the combine, certainly when he broke it down at the 40 yard strip, the conversation is who is he in terms of where he plays, what do you think that answer to that question is now on the eve of the draft?
Well, I think most teams have

included

it. him as a safety when I made my decisions and they think he can do a lot of different things, but mainly you're talking about a forced safety who can play in the box more like a blitzer than a pure pass rusher. Rusher, but I watch Darwin James every week and you see everything he can do and the versatility he gives you from week to week. I think he would fit perfectly on so many teams. I don't think the giantsThey did it at four, but I think that's where the discussion with Simmons begins and I think there's talk of him potentially going as high as the 10th pick with the Cleveland Browns.
I think that's his range of where he could go, but we're heading towards rich football with no positions trying to find. These guys that you can pair up at tight end one week and be able to blitz him and put him at running back the next week, they provide that versatility, okay, let's finish the top 10 of your mock draft and maybe bleed in the next third of the first round with a couple of offensive linemen still on the board is thatWhere do the Cleveland Browns go, yeah, I think we're going to see a couple of big offensive linemen back to back here at pix10 and pick 11.
The Cleveland Browns and free agency went out and got for Jack Conklin to take over one of those tackle spots. Now they're going to end the book here and Andrew Thomas will play left tackle like he did at Georgia. He also has some experience on the right side. He's my fourth tackle, but I can see him going further in this draft. I wouldn't be surprised if he went number four to the giants and then following the browns you get to the jets and that's where I got the big makai beckton that we filmed we saw him put on a show in the combine you're talking about 370 pound man who he can slide he's a dominant run blocker le'veon bill will love him and then you can also protect sam darnold's blindside so help with the run game and the passing game with the jets here's mike and his first pick is the general manager of the Las Vegas Raiders and every possible wide receiver is available for him and Gruden, did they catch one right?
That's interesting, they have all the wide receivers there rich, but they also have the number two cornerback in the draft and CJ. Henderson, that would fill a need for this Raiders team, so that would be the decision. I think they're going to be wide receivers. John Gruden loves wide receivers. They need someone to plug and play and be the number one and this is where the race for receivers begins. with cd lamb from oklahoma city, lamb has a chance to come in after the sack, that's what he does, that's special and that's why I think he would fit very well with john gruden and in that offense, so cd lamb would be the first in las vegas.
Raiders draft pick and then this is where the 49ers come in as we start to see teams trading first round picks for a player. Look, the Steelers don't have a first round pick in the draft, it's a rarity for them, the Bears mayk cash in on the last first round pick the Raiders still have from that mack trade. The Rams Bills and Texans are also smoking if they got them. on Thursday night, so the 49ers who don't have a pick in the second third or fourth round could maybe consider trading this spot or maybe even later at 31, but what do you think they'll do at 13?
Well, I have him married. here with justin jefferson and this could very well be a trade and take justin jefferson, but every receiver coach in the league loves this guy. I think he has a chance to surprise people and get off the board ahead of some high profile players like this. I'm going next and this would be fun. Everyone assumes the Bucks are going to go tackle, no, they go to Jerry Judy to plug the slot with Mike Evans on one side, Chris Godwin on the other, Gronk as their new tight end and off they go. streak continues fourth straight receiver henry ruggs the fastest man in the draft is going to line up opposite cortland sutton to give draw lock two young dynamic receivers who would be fun to see there in the mile high area with the speed What would henry ruggs bring in now, normally we would sit here and talk about the rarity of a wide receiver at four straight positions in the draft, certainly in the first half of the first round of an nfl draft, but we have to pause here and just point out if this happens, that tampa and tampa bay the buccaneers would go with jerry judy from alabama and put him in an offense that already has pro bowlers in abundance, evans and godwin last time we saw pro wide receivers of the same equipment. as teammates in the same year was 09 with anquan Bolden and Larry Fitzgerald and then Gronk coming out of retirement, that's crazy as a DJ for Tom Brady.
It would be very fun, very fun for Tom Brady. I know they have a hole at right tackle, but with the top four tackles off the board, I think right now this is the best player available that they could connect with jerry judy and rich to finish that. I know we're only doing the first round here. but clyde edwards elaire the lsu running back was put on this earth to play with tom brady he belongs in this offense so in the second round we will give the bucks fans a bonus we will give clyde edwards a lair just to finish. putting out this offense would be a big deal again if that was what Tampa came out of the first two rounds of the draft to pair with Tom Brady and just make the NFC South more, that's a lot harder for anyone else.
Competing is a lot of fun, so now the Jaguars would pick here again in your mock draft. You made the hawks change up to nine, giving the jaguars this place. Who do you think Jacksonville would absorb this crap well even if they got stuck? at nine i could see them taking javon kinlaw and this one we have them moving to 16 they still have their guy ken law can come in to replace calais campbell they have some pieces on that front seven that they need to add and this is a big positive piece here with javon kinlaw daniel jeremiah 17th overall dallas cowboys do what they do corner here cj henderson ended up falling into his lap here number two corner has a real chance to be a top 10 pick potentially even with the jags there at number nine but falls to the dallas cowboys in this scenario and they need an upgrade there after losing byron jones in free agency bring in cj henderson plug and play very athletic rich like seeing a little better tackler but someone with tremendous athletic ability okay say The phone rings and the Joneses want to negotiate.
What do you think happens there? I think it's a real possibility because when you look at a couple of players they could target, you'd love to see Cesar Ruiz come in and replace Travis Frederick. Cesar Ruiz from Michigan, uh, they don't know they need to get him there at 17, so they could trade him for him, also a player, and Xavier Mckinney would fill the need at safety, but at some point they did. I have to get Travis Frederick's replacement and that's why Cesar Ruiz, in a trade scenario, would be the one I would keep an eye on there with the Cowboys, okay sir, now the Miami Dolphins are back on the clock here with the pick general number 18.
Who? Take with their second first round pick, they were quarterback, now they have to get someone who can protect him and USC's Austin Jackson is a true left tackle, one of the youngest players in the draft needs to get a little stronger, but He has the potential to be an elite left tackle with his quick feet and athleticism. I think he ends up coming off the board here and going to the Dolphins and then the Raiders with the second pick of his. Why not go back to Clemson? Mike Miock loves the store at Clemson, he goes find you. another cornerback last year they were able to get a starting cornerback, Clemson's Trayvon Mullen.
This year they came back and got teammate Aj Tyrell to team up with his old Clemson teammate and that would finally seal up the Khalil Mack trade and what the Raiders got. for bears mack in the past so last year mike mayok with three first round picks was clelan farrell and then josh jacobs who was competing for the offensive rookie of the year award jonathan abram who got hurt right away and it looked so promising. the raiders would now be constituted as such and i mean cd lamb and terrell that wouldn't be a bad thursday night for mayok and gruden and company without a doubt rich the question with the raiders in this first round if you look at the receiver and the corner is which one goes first and I had them go first with the receiver with cd land because as we've seen all these teams between their first pick and their second pick need a wide and they could be eliminated there so that's where does it go to fix?
Do they take the corner first or the target? Okay and then the Los Angeles Rams would have been on the clock here, but the Jaguars are on the clock because Jalen Ramsey is here in Southern California. What's happening here? with this pick well with the first one we made him go to kayla vaughn or in fact with the first one we made him go to javon quinlan now they're back with kayla von chason who in my opinion is the second best edge rusher to come out from lsu and was injured in 2018 in 2019, got better and better every week, played big, big explosions coming off the rim there for the jags who could be negative on goku yannick and goku at the end of the draft, first overall, the eagles are on the clock.
DJ, what do you do well? Eagles fans want a wide receiver, but the race has already happened. I think they go with linebacker Kenneth Murray, who could step in and be a pro bowl player with the speed to track Ezekiel Elliott and Saquon Barkley within that division. A departure from what they normally do in the first round, they haven't drafted linebacker in a while, but I love how he fits into Jim Schwartz's scheme. Then we have the Minnesota Vikings who have needs at receiver, but I think Jalen Johnson is a great schemer. he fits with Mike Zimmer, he can play, press man, he's great at playing the ball and he's tough, so the Vikings get a corner that is much needed on their roster and then the New England Patriots are a bit of a surprise here, but Cole Comet, someone who enters. who can help in the run game as an inline tight end and also someone who can give you a big target in the middle of the field for jared stidham or brian hoyer and that sounds weird rolling off the tongue without talking about tom brady there with the patriots New England, rich, no, I hear you on that front, DJ, and you know, that's the question: what could New England do at 23rd overall, they could regress, they don't have a second-round draft option, they do have plenty of third quarters and more.
All that, what do you think they could do? Could you put together a group to maybe go beyond 23? What do you think the strategy will be? I think look if Tua started to slide or Herbert, I'd be on the lookout. on Herbert too, if Herbert were to slide you could potentially go up a little bit. I don't see them trading a bunch of picks to jump into the top ten, but if one of those two players started to drift. I could see that making sense, then you have those three threes, maybe they could go back to the second round for someone like Jalen Duele, which would be a departure from the way this offense has looked, but it could be a new era of the New England Patriots. football maybe they want to get someone who can move like Jalen Hurts and open up this offense in other ways, so that would be one I would keep an eye on.
I just don't think Jalen Hurts will come to them in the third round so they would have to move up there a bit, the Saints are 24th overall what do you think they do? DJ, well there has been some talk about Jordan possibly loving the Saints, but at the end of the day I don't see that happening, yeah. Look at this football team and trying to find needs is very difficult because their roster is absolutely loaded. TCU's Jalen Rager. The wide receiver can replace the speed element they lost with Ted Ginn Jr. I think he was an underrated player in that offense. vertical speed there with Jalen Raker the excellent combination with Sean Payton now the Vikings return with their second pick they go to defense again I know the wide receiver is a need but the couture mats are filled on the opposite side of the Neil Hunter than him He would fit perfectly on that team, but he needs to chase Aaron Rodgers within the division and then with the Miami Dolphins, his third pick, here's Rich, César Ruiz, the center from Michigan, they get Justin Herbert, the quarterback, he they give a left tackle and I ended up adding the center here from Michigan, who is the best interior offensive lineman in the entire draft class, in my opinion, well, I'll take that and run that one, so now the Seattle Seahawks Daniel is now in the watch at 27th overall.
Seahawks fans see them trade up in the first round and stick around for the entire first round of a draft only to see them trade up again or they would use this pick. Do you think it's okay? I'm just looking out for them in the mock draft. show here and we're going to say they stay and pick when we both know that's not happening, they'll end up trading like they do every year. John Schneider loves to do that so if we're just trying to match a player with them that fits uh this is this is good here trayvon diggs big long athletic corner you knowhow Pete Carroll loves those Trayvon Dick's former wide receiver at Alabama has tremendous ball skills and as Pete Carroll is known to say it's all about the ball the Baltimore Ravens are trying to be a little quicker on defense, especially in the linebacker position, patrick queen, i think this is an incredible value pick for queen, who plays with reckless abandon, you see him marginalize the wing range, nod that martindale would love to put. him on their defense there with baltimore and finally isaiah wilson, the big right tackle, the titans select him to replace jack conklin, who left to go to the cleveland browns, they have a hole there, we know they love to run the ball and That's Isaiah Wilson's forte. is moving people at the line of scrimmage, would you believe the last time the Packers used the first round pick on offense to complement Aaron Rodger's side of the ball was in the draft after winning the Super Bowl When did they use the final pick from the 2011 first pick?
Round on Mississippi State's Derrick Sherrod, an offensive lineman who played just four years on the team, which is why it's been so long since the Packers struck in the first round. Daniel Jeremiah. Did they give Aaron Rodgers any help this time? He not only didn't like him. When drafting offensive players you have to go back a long way to find a switch wide receiver, let's give them Arizona State's Brandon Iuk who is a run after catch specialist. Someone who can track the ball deep down the field and has been able to use it on some nifty plays besides just putting the ball in his hands and letting him make a great comeback there in Brandon Iu now we get to the 31st pick the 49ers I could see them coming out of this pick if they hold on and pick let's get some more speed, a little more athleticism in the secondary, the number one pass defense gets even better with jeff gladney, who can play outside or inside at nickel and someone. he has excellent ball skills and toughness and finally let's round it out chris jones there are some rumors that he could be on the block i don't know if they are going to pay him long term ross blacklock from tcu i think he is our third horn Rana, let's go on the first round to go to Kansas City, give them a little more inside passing, okay, that concludes Daniel Jeremiah's 2020 first round mock draft.
