Film Theory: Gravity Falls ISN'T OVER! (Bill Cipher LIVES!)Feb 27, 2020
Lee, why don't we see a yellow eye with an elongated pupil at the bottom? The iconic sight of a person under the control of Bell Cipher! Well...it's because Bill only checks on Stan when he goes to sleep. Now, before you go into the comments and tell me there's a huge logical fallacy here, hear me out. It's something he's sure done in the past, especially with Stan's brother Ford! In the official book "Diary 3", Ford describes the deal he made with Bill thirty years before the events of the series occurred. He allowed Bill to enter his mind and control his body, but under the terms of the deal, he has the right to control Stan Ford's body, only when he sleeps!
Page 118 of "Journal 3"... "I woke up this morning to find my divine muse was true to her word! There are six hours of beautiful masterpieces of arithmetic in my journal! Perfect fit to keep me up to date. " However, what began as a mutually beneficial relationship quickly devastated when Ford began to fear Bell's influence and actively tried to stay awake, fearing that Bell would continue to control his body again when he fell asleep page 142 “I fell asleep in my bed only to wake up at my desk looking at the strange scribbled signs underneath… He's taking advantage of me while I sleep.” That tells us that it's very possible that Bell is just controlling Stan's mind at night!
Do you realize that during the chase we never see Stan's face? Just a set of pre-processed audio files! The files can be prepared in the middle of the night and that's it. A
theorythat Bill Cipher is alive and locked in Stan's mind Stan. I think there's a lot of evidence for it, but you know... when I was researching that
theory, I was shocked! It's crazy how close these two characters are to each other. It's co as if they were connected on a deeper level from the start. I mean, they're the only characters to ever call Ford "The Six." "Hey, how are you, six?" "Deal, deal, Six!" It is a very strange coincidence!
And they both tell people to buy gold before the impending apocalypse: "Buy gold" - "You've been buying gold, right?" And they both do that "whatever-mini-mini-me" of randomly choosing "A way to get away with it, a different look, a different time!" In the episode "Teasiness" (Season 1 - Episode 5) we see Mabel's hallucinations where a giant dog speaks backwards and tells her that we shouldn't trust uncle, and we've already discussed how speaking backwards tends to have a connection to Bill, and now we have someone backwards telling us not to trust Uncle Stan. We have a lot of secrets in the series, but none serious enough to be unreliable.
This also gives new meaning to the intro badge code, which reads "Stan is not what he seems." All the Gravity Falls fans paid no attention to this and took it as a sign that he had a twin brother, but what if Ella has been pointing to something else all along? Could these two characters really be? one and the same? Is that a theory for another day? For now, remember... reality isn't real, the universe is a hologram... and that's just the theory of "
