I want it's also very light and packable and the temperature rating is pretty good for me and if I need more warmth I can add a liner and then for my sleeping pad this is the nemo tensor sleeping pad this is by far my favorite sleeping pad i ever had super packable it comes with a pump sack like and um yeah im a big fan of this another recent addition to my sleep system is the nemo philo elite pillow its one of those items I avoided getting for a long, long time and now regret it, but this little pillow is so comfortable that the stuff sack stores in the pillow itself, which is awesome if you're someone like me who tends to lose

everything

to the stores tent, you have probably noticed that I have carried many different tents. the luxury of being able to try out a variety of tents due to my work with rei this is a really great tent for when

backpacking

with just me and my dog ‚Äč‚Äčthis video is not sponsored by nemo but i realize there is an awful lot of nemo stuff turns out to work fine next i have my poop kit so in my poop kit now i have my field bidet so you put water in here then point it at your butt after you poop and squeeze the water out the bottle and the water cleans your anus, so I also changed the bidet. my really heavy paddle for the deuce which is a super light paddle um this is a .6 ounce the other thing i have in my poop kit is toilet paper i carry it around as an emergency back up even though i have a panic toilet paper bidet like a panic poop the last two things i have in my poop kit are a trash bag with hand sanitizer and the last thing i have are blue bags again these are just an emergency thing i feel like i carry many things out of place Fear of not having it.

My first aid kit is kind of pathetic. This is my current first aid kit. in a little red bag and they have all your supplies in them and they tell you when to refill it it's really easy to use but i got rid of that handy system and switched it up just throwing band aids in a stuff sack with some neosporin the latest What I have here is just my hygiene stuff so some soap multiple towels my little pill container toothbrush toothpaste which is my first aid kit to fix fires and hygiene it's like a junk drawer it's dry hot exactly what that is i got my sitting pad this makes a big difference for sitting on rocks i've also used it as a sleeping pad for nala overall it's really practical and it has a sipper pad on it so it ties to the outside of my bag. by made by nemo this is the nemo chip pper oh no i also started carrying a small battery so this is the target zero venter this has been really handy for me its charging cable is integrated into the design itself and then it has a port on top also has a flashlight so it's like a little flashlight shit i know it's kinda cool outside of my sleeping socks or special socks.

Right now I have a pair of walking socks but I'll wear them like any sleeping sock or it's just a spare in case my feet get wet I also have my camp shoes these are my water shoes I like them because they have a completely flat heel they are very small they are very light and can easily be stored in a pocket of my backpack if I am doing a longer trail where I don't think I will need to do a water crossing. I'll

bring

a more comfortable pair of sandals that I can put on my feet at camp and then I have my benefit.
This is just like a standard buff buff and then I have my headlamp mine is a biolite headlamp this is a refill I love this thing it's so light and bam is it on? Oh yeah, so my carving knife, so a lot of people have asked me about my carving stuff. I know i owe the world a video on this so my water filtration is cathidine b. free filter as you can see the bag is no longer attached to this. I ripped the bag on my b3 filter recently and didn't want to just buy a new bag and have the same problem happen so i got this two liter hydropack bottle. so this is a hydropack hydropack bottle it's the same brand that makes the bottle that comes with the canadian b3 but this is a two liter compared to the one liter bottle i used to have i love this thing it's great big boom ok we're coming to the end here this is gps watch sunscreen insulator jacket ta-da and then my sunglasses hi i like them because they are rubber so they don't slide down my face last thing i wanted here. to talk it was my food and my bear boat here i have all my cooking stuff and food so in my kitchen kit i have my stove this is snow peak gig it's just a very small folding stove and this is it will screw into a small iso pro container like this boom stove i also have my garbage bag and then i have my delta container from sea to summit i will use something like this to rehydrate my food that way i only have one thing i have to wash constantly plus i lets store leftovers in my empty container and then Here's my teapot.
This is probably the most asked piece of equipment that I use in all of my videos. This is the x-pot from seed to peak. It's just a collapsible kettle. in a stuff sack like this if I don't have room for it in my bear bin so that's all I take on all my backpacking trips regardless of the season now I'm going to show you how I keep it in my bag it's packing time so this is another bag. I have received many questions about this. the rei flash 55 is a lightweight pack but it has been very handy for me as i started to lighten my load a bit oh one thing you might notice looking at all my gear is i dont have a reservoir i had a reservoir and it started leaking i had trouble trying to keep it clean so i've been using nalgenes or using my two liter bag of my cathidine and it's not a perfect system still haven't figured out what i want to do next i don't like reservoirs they taste like plastic yeah yeah I think I'm also like a binge drinker.
I'd be lying if I said I've never used a camel with a reservoir at a party to make sure I stay hydrated. yes, actually I'm going to take my sleeping bag out of the compression sack. This is a trick I learned from one of my chelsea videographers. It's something I started doing recently and I love it. The sleeping bag and sleeping system always go at the bottom of your pack as soon as I start putting things on top of this it's just going to squash it more and more and it just allows me to fill in the empty spaces. that i can fill in the nooks and crannies with the less bulky stuff my poles i'm going to slide down as close to the bottom of my bag as possible and i'll also keep them near the back of my bag some people keep their tent poles on the outside of their backpack they just slide them into a side pocket and clip them that way but for me this works great amazing so my bear bin which is me is full of food and food. it's super heavy it's also one of the bulkiest things I own so this goes in the middle of my pack as close to the back as possible so now that I have my bear canister in my pack I'm going to keep go ahead and put in my tent body there we go yeah i'll put my poop kit in there first aid kit air cleaner oh my special socks this is how i'm packing my bag right now but sometimes this will vary since i'm traveling these items go on top of my bag they're things i always need to be able to easily reach and then lastly i'm going to take my extra layer and put it on top here too now we have a few things that go on the outside , so my camp shoes slide into the outside pocket here this is also where I'll put on a long sleeved shirt or any extra layers I can take on and off during the hike this is where you'll want to keep the things you need itas coming quickly so for me thats my buff my headlamp and then i also keep my charger in the lid of my backpack i will keep my cool cloth in here until i use it and then as soon as i use it it hangs on the outside of my bag, my hipbelt pockets, uh for him most of them are left empty for snacks, but there are a couple of things I keep in them, first of all, my carving knife and sandpaper, my protector sunscreen and my sunglasses. s i keep my sippy pad on the outside of my bag because it's only good if i can access it and i'll wear my watch it doesn't pack it sticks to my body oh my water bottle thanks it's so cold and that's all those are all my stuff i forgot something i'm not exactly 100 sure about the base weight of my pack i mean it's like 22 lbs what do you think 28 22 lbs depending on how much food i'm carrying how much water i have to carry that weight will vary but the base weight is about 20 lbs. i need to get to the top too fast and then other light stuff fills the outside beyond that it's totally up to you how you pack your bag ok so there's a bit of science i know my pack probably to some of you you look very small right now and maybe for other people it ok really huge just remember wherever you are on your backpacking trip as long as you feel comfortable carrying your backpack as long as you feel good about the gear that you have then you are doing well stay safe and have fun so that covers

everything

i carry in my bag to go backpacking.
