Electronic Drum Myths

Jun 06, 2021

drum

, you get a

drum

sound, so yes, if a professional is using it. and it's achieving the same goal just in a slightly different way it's still in the same category and then one more comment on all this he said another myth he didn't list was thinking

electronic

drums cheat as opposed to playing acoustic drums . setting this up is something i've heard before too i even had a drum teacher say he was playing a yamaha djx 900 i think and he was playing these yamaha silicone pads and he said it felt like i was cheating because it was too much easy, the amount of bounce he was getting was that he could do all these things really fast. that you really couldn't do it that easily on an acoustic drum kit and that's something that's a real concern if you buy a standard acoustic drum kit or a standard

electronic

drum kit you can play faster on an electronic drum kit most of the time like rolling the heads that usually go on these things they are too bouncy compared to an acoustic drum set the good news is this can be fixed by buying something like real field drumheads from drum tech where they don't give as much bounce it's a sensation more realistic and yes you can do that kind of thing you can use rubber pads which is a little harder to play that fast compared to a really bouncy acoustic mesh head or you can just detune these they don't have to be super tight I You can detune the mesh head and that will remove a lot of the bounce, but yeah you can play faster on an electronic drum the most of the time, so it's a real concern, but I wouldn't call it cheating. could give is to compare a snare to a floor tom, the floor tom has a lot less bounce and it's harder to play really fast stuff compared to the snare because it's tuned so high, but does that make you a real man if you just do you play? on the floor tom because it's harder to play on, no not really, it's just that they're two different surfaces, just because electronic drums have a slightly different surface doesn't necessarily mean it's cheating to play on them, remember that electronic drums are just a tool you don't have I don't have to use them I'm just saying there are benefits to buying an electronic drum kit over an acoustic one and there are benefits to buying an acoustic drum kit over an electronic one you'll just have to weigh the two and decide what you want to buy. or at best ario is always buying combine the two and have a hybrid acoustic electronic drum set so this is definitely a controversial video I want to know what you guys think in the comments below let me know your thoughts and I hope you have a wonderful day and see you in a few
electronic drum myths
