Yeah, we just put the boxes of K cups behind the Keurig machine and it's not very attractive. I know there are a lot of k-cups storage shelves caddies boxes baskets whatever on the market but I wanted something that was really slim and would fit right against the wall and those are a little hard to find and the ones I found are a It's expensive so I decided to create my own and I really like how it turned out. It only costs five

dollar

s using supplies from Dollar Tree, so let's not wait any longer, let's get into it and I'll show you how I did it.

I'll make this cake

stand

. I'll be using four of these little thank you signs from Dollar Tree. They are hollow and have a picture hanger on the back. They also have this style instead of the black and white buffalo check. It is more of a painting on the sides. and I'm also going to use a pack of wooden rulers from Dollar Tree and I'm going to use black craft paint and a foam paint brush and this is just Apple Barrel black paint from Walmart and I'm going to use my hot glue gun and I'm using Gorilla glue sticks on this and I would recommend using Gorilla glue sticks or even using some e6000 if you're not going to use Gorilla glue, so first I'm going to remove the plastic from the signs. and then I'm going to gently remove the picture hanger that's on the back of them and I'm just going to repeat this for all four signs, and then I'm going to take the two rulers and the colored strips that have the measurements on them are just glued on. so they'll come off and it'll be a little sticky on the ruler, so I just take some sandpaper and rub it over the top and that takes it off.

Next I'm going to take my black craft paint and paint the side of the rulers that I removed the measurements from, there's a little bit of a raised part in the center of this side so I'm going to paint that side and then the edges as well, but for now I'm going to leave the back unpainted, then I'm going to take the signs and on the back I'm just going to use my foam brush and take some paint. I'm going to paint the edges all the way. around the sign and then I'm going to paint the inside of the signs as well and do this for all four signs.

I ended up using a smaller brush to get inside the corners and fill in some of the places at the ends, another way to do the edges is to just take a black marker and color along those edges. If you have a nice new marker, it works better. Now I'm going to take the flat unpainted side of the ruler and I'm going to hold it to the side of the sign and mark the ends. I will do this on all four ends of the two rules. Now it took me a long time to try to design this and space it correctly because the I'm actually going to angle two signs in the center so it was a little tricky so I'll just give you the measurements to mark your ruler and then you'll know where to place them so that each end of the ruler is going to be an inch and a quarter so you're going to have to comment that it's four inches and three and a half inches two inches and then again one and a quarter and I know that doesn't really make any sense but in the end it all comes together. the light, believe me, there is a method to my madness, so I don't know what happened to the video I glued these on, but I basically glued the signs to the top and bottom of the ruler. and I put my ruler so that the hole and the ruler are facing up and then I'll glue the other ruler on the other side so you basically have a box and you want to make sure the open sides of your signs are facing up.
So now I'm going to glue the two middle signs together and this is where those measurements come in, so at the two inch mark I'm going to put the bottom of another sign and I'm going to place that corner of the sign right on that mark now. I don't want to make them flat and straight. I want to tilt them, so I'll keep the bottom corner of the sign at that 2 inch mark and then tilt the sign to the opposite top corner. it's right on the edge, the other edge of the ruler and just like you see here and then I'm going to use some hot guerilla glue to attach this to the ruler and then I'm going to add the fourth sign.
I'm going to put that. bottom corner of this sign at that mark where we marked the four inches and then I'll basically put this the same way the bottom corner will go at that four inch mark and then I'll tilt the sign and line I'll move that other top corner up on the edge of ruler and then I'm going to glue that down with a little bit of Gorilla Glue as well, then I'm going to turn it around and glue down the other edges of those two center signs and I'm just using my ruler to make sure I get the two inch one and then the top one will be four inches.
Now I just need to paint the inside of those rulers where I had my measurements on the inside. I didn't want to paint them. beforehand because then I wouldn't be able to see my measurements well and I also wanted the glue to adhere really well, so I thought it would be better to wait and paint it after gluing them. I tried using the foam brush for this. but it was too big and I ended up switching to a smaller brush. The nice thing about this is that if you have black paint on that Buffalo, check that it is a smooth surface and you can clean it right away, it will just wipe off with your fingers or a damp cloth for my last step.
I decided to go over the outside of the rules again and then touch up some of the inside of the boxes or those signs, that's just to give it a good coverage and I painted the inside. of the hole in the ruler just to help disguise that a little bit, so here it is and I love how it looks. The black and white buffalo plaid has a real farmhouse look and holds 24K cups perfectly and I love it right next to the Keurig. machine, it's so compact and attached to the wall, it's perfect, it's exactly what I wanted and it only cost $5 to make.
