Draw My Life - Dolan Twins

Feb 20, 2020
What's up guys, we're back and this Tuesday we decided we wanted to try a Draw My Life video? We're going to do this together because that's how it's been since day one, long before day one, we've been together since the womb and maybe even before that, depending on whether we're fraternal or identical, but that's still a mystery to us. To this day anyway, it all started in a womb, not just any womb, in our mother's womb, not Grayson, 17 years ago, on December 16th in New Jersey. He was born then 19 minutes later it was Grayson's turn to come into this world this was a much more complicated process than anyone had anticipated because Grayson got stuck, they had to perform emergency surgery on my mom in order to save his

life

Grayson, which also endangered his

life

. at risk during the procedure Grayson's heart stopped and technically he died for almost a minute my parents told us that this was the scariest moment of their lives then a miracle happened Grayson's little heart decided to start beating again I don't know why I died I think God just needed an extra minute to make me cooler than Ethan and as annoying as Grayson is, I'm so grateful he's here and I don't know what I would do without him so yeah that put us 20 minutes apart , which is a lot for

twins

and we weigh 7 and 8 pounds, which is also a lot for

Sorry mom, when we were babies we were sick and in the hospital a lot, when we were finally free we came home and our oldest son was 2 years old. my sister called us Nigel and Cookie because she thought we were dogs, unfortunately I'm very allergic to dogs so we were the only dogs she would regret Cameron, we quickly learned to walk and ran towards things and jumped from high places. chairs when I was only 10 months old, my mom had to put a tent around my crib because I used to climb out of my crib and release Grayson from his in the middle of the night, then I figured out how to open the tent so my mom would have a pipe cleaner close the store to prevent it from exploding, sorry again mom, it's safe to say we were born a little crazy, we moved out of our first house when we were 3 and started preschool in a new town we remember being.

We were able to make friends easily at school due to our outgoing and sociable personality. However, when we asked our friends at school if they wanted to go on playdates, they told us they weren't allowed to because their parents didn't like us or because they didn't like us. Very crazy, we remember telling our mom what our friend said and she got very angry. Parenting tip: Don't talk to four-year-olds, they'll find out and get angry. One of the parents even organized a graduation party for our preschool class. and we made t-shirts for everyone, well, almost all of us were the only ones who didn't get t-shirts or an invitation to a party, and even though there were only four of us, I actually remember feeling like I was never going to fit in, even though this bothered us.

We didn't really need other friends. We always had each other since we were little. Our father introduced us to sports. This is where we were able to use our madness to our advantage. We played soccer lacrosse and wrestled three contact sports. We also looked. A lot of TV, too much TV to the point where we tried to create our own show and called it Bob and Rob. It was about two children fighting over having the same name and her older sister filmed it with her folding video camera. she received it for her eighth birthday. She was also a young technological genius and she edited the episodes on her family's computer.
We created a total of two seasons and 30 episodes and we only really showed it to our family when they came over to celebrate the holidays and stuff. and no, we won't post those videos anywhere unless we get 300,000 likes 300,000 likes smash that like button. I'm just kidding, we're honestly not sure we'll be able to find them because they were on an old emac that's probably in a dumpster somewhere, so while we really enjoyed filming, sports were always our main focus, we made some friends on our sports teams who were actually allowed to hang out with us when they came over, we didn't play sports or anything, we really dressed them up. creating them and having them play characters on our shows must have been fun being our friends, yeah, yeah, not really, so our family moved to a new town and Bob and Rober were left behind in this new town.
We took sports very seriously, we trained almost every day. and we captained our wrestling team, played on intra-team trips, and won a soccer championship. At one point we tried making videos again on a YouTube channel called yimu 39. I think it was like a cow mixed with a unicorn anyway, but it failed miserably. and I hope those videos never appear, we didn't really have enough time to make videos with all the sports we played so we gave up on it for 3 years until our sister showed us an app called Vine. Vine videos were only 6 seconds long, so we're safe. like hell, I had enough time for that, okay, Vine made us fall back in love with an old passion we had for creating videos in school.
A girl in my seventh grade science class told me that she and her brother would watch my Vines together and laugh. I felt confused when she told me this, but those words made me feel better than winning any championship in any sport. We spent all summer making stupid Vines to make our friends laugh. We finally started getting comments on our posts from people who didn't know this was another confusing but surprising feeling. The following year we were forced to make a decision between sports or videos. We applied to a private school that was known for its amazing sports programs and after meeting with the coaches and hearing what they had. say about us we felt like we were almost guaranteed acceptance so Grayson and I made a deal if we got into school we would quit Vine and focus on sports and we got rejected because we made Vines or at least that's why we think we got I rejected this was very upsetting because our future plans were crushed.
Honestly, it bothered me so much that I stopped making Vines. I was stuck making them alone in my room for that month until I finally convinced Ethan to start making videos with me again. We graduated from high school. feeling like the man or men because we both had almost a million followers on Vine. This taught us that if you feel like life is knocking you down, it's probably just setting you back on track and then high school came along and we were nervous enough to start. freshman year and it didn't help that there was an anonymous app in town where people said they wanted to ruin our years by hitting us in the hallways and filming it and just as we expected, high school was miserable most days.
I couldn't go from class to class without hearing someone making fun of me in the hallways. I remember that some older people would stick stickers on my backpack with unpleasant comments, this made us insecure and introverted people and we had never been like that. Before, I spent every day walking through the hallways with my head down so that no one would see me. I even had a case with a mirror to make sure there was nothing on my face for people to make fun of that strange thought. I know, but that's the kind of person hate turned me into when I finally got home from school.
I was on my phone for the rest of the day. Social media was my happy place. The good things people had to say about us online did to us. Forget about the negative things that happened at school and motivated us to continue making videos. This taught us that surrounding yourself with the right people is very important to your happiness after continually asking our parents if we could transfer to online school, multiple counseling sessions, and countless. number of anxiety attacks we left public school halfway through our first year when that finally happened, we had time for even more videos, we started creating weekly videos on YouTube which soon allowed us to move to Los Angeles, California to pursue our dreams in the that we trusted our parents because I have always been honest with them, they knew that we would not spend our time partying and we also knew that we were there to work hard, make videos and have a good time, we never let anything distract us, we have been sober the entire time. our life and we are still sober to this day we don't think you need drugs or alcohol to have a good time anyway It was super fun for these first two years our dreams had come true two 15 year old idiots living alone in In a big city we were afraid of thinking that we had to do our own laundry and wash our own dishes, but we overcame that fear when we turned 16 and decided that responding to our comments and liking our photos wasn't enough.
We wanted to see. the people who turned our dreams into reality and practically saved Our Lives. We call this the 40u tour. Our first show on the tour was in our home state of New Jersey. We were extremely nervous until we went on stage for the first time. This was another one. feeling like we fell in love with a couple of people, they actually fainted during the show, but luckily they're all really good, I think we forgot how over the top our Phantom was, I love them before the tour, we hadn't really traveled anywhere else as well as California during the tour we traveled to. 42 different cities around the world we were excited about life just before starting our international leg of the tour.
They told us terrifying news. Our father had been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. This was definitely difficult for our family. We didn't want to cancel the tour but we wanted to be home with our dad, he told us we were crazy and to go back on tour because he knew that was what made us happy when we were on tour, we were worried about our family, worried to continue publishing videos and we had to do shows. and taking flights almost every night, I'm not going to lie, we felt like we had a lot of pressure on us, but our dad knew that the overwhelming support everyone showed us on tour got us through that difficult time, so thank you for that, Our father.
In fact, he was able to come to our show in Ireland and visiting Ireland had always been a big dream of his. We feel closer than ever with you after the 6 months we were on tour and we learned a couple of great lessons too. Let's be grateful for everything. May you especially be healthy and travel as much as possible When you see how big the world is You realize how small your problems really are After traveling the world We moved back to Los Angeles and we didn't feel the same this time We started out feeling very stuck, we didn't have many friends and we felt like we weren't progressing as people, we felt like we weren't doing enough for you after you showed us all that love and support, to be honest, the negative energy.
We were convinced that our passion was a joke, so we decided to relive another dream from our childhood. Since we were little, we always dreamed of having a house full of things that would help us maximize our crazy things. We're not even kidding, we actually talked about this. When we were little kids, we felt that if we put our idea into action we could make the best videos we were capable of making and more for you, so we took a financial risk. and created the Dolan Twins Warehouse here, we felt like we could create videos that we were proud of and that could possibly brighten someone's day.
We could also bring one of you here to hang out with us and make a video with us here, this helped. We learn that starting new chapters in life and taking risks is stressful, quit and inspire yourself too that buying materials doesn't bring you happiness, sometimes we feel depressed no matter what, for us happiness comes from creating videos that bring us together to you and are With our family we are still learning more and more about ourselves every day, but that was our journey and what we have learned so far. We are very grateful to all of you and we hope this shows you the impact you have had on our lives you are a big part of our happiness daily we want to build this family of good people because good people make good people better people thank you for your help by giving us a life to
