placetwice, you should think again about the mouth of the Catatumbo River in Venezuela, where it flows into Lake Maracaibo. The World's Most Frequent Natural Fireworks Thunderstorms appear in this area an average of 260 days a year with storms lasting 10 hours per day and producing an average of 28 lightning flashes per minute not to mention constant
thunder. The Cata Tomba lightning is believed to be caused by the unusual geological and atmospheric conditions in the area, almost every afternoon the humid winds blowing across Lake Maracaibo collide with the cold air from the nearby high Andes surrounding the swampy plains, this causes tremendous vertical clouds that produce
thunderand thunder almost non-stop. thunderstorms because thunderstorms hover almost in the same
placethat sailors have called the Maracaibo lighthouse or the eternal storm that the Guinness Book of Records has named this is the place where the highest annual concentration of lightning occurs in the world.

We have about the Bible that we have never fully understood and we thank you Lord that we can study together in the name of Jesus. Amen, amen, now on Pastor's Day, you started talking about thunderstorms and I'm sure you've had some. As I've spent some time in the tropics, you can have some pretty amazing thunderstorms or even in the Midwest and some of the most powerful storms I experienced for a while in what's called Tornado Alley there in Missouri and the lightning and thunder that come and it was just awesome, it was something to look forward to.
I mean, not everyone likes it, but it's kind of exciting to have this massive thunderstorm and lightning and now here's a place you talked about where you're almost guaranteed to have a thunderstorm almost every day of the year, if you get there at the right time, you will be able to see something spectacular, in fact, when you were reading that, I thought it would surely be a good place to visit, well, I thought so too In fact, if you go online, you can see that they do tours there right now, the economy in Venezuela and the country are in some kind of turmoil, but they still take people on tours where they can go to the shore of the lake and they can see it almost every afternoon, except in times of drought, there will be a lightning show over this place and floats there, it's really strange, just a violent, flashing, rumbling lightning that goes up in the sky, down and out, and it's like a really divine fireworks display. and it makes me think of a story in the Bible where it tells us in the book of Exodus just before the Lord gave the Ten Commandments to the nation of Israel, you can look at it and say the following is 19 in Exodus 20, the mountain was full . of thunder and lightning Exodus 20 verse 18 Now all the people witnessed the thunder and lightning and the sound of the trumpet was held in a place on the mountain and the mountains were smoking and when the people searched they trembled and stood in the distance and They said to Moses talk to us and we will listen to you but do not let God talk to us so that we do not die and then you can also read in Exodus 24 13 then Moses got up with his assistant Joshua and Moses went up to the mountain of God and the sight of the glory of the Lord was like a consuming fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the children of Israel, so Moses entered into the middle of the cloud and went up to the mountain, just go up to it. storm of the presence of God and this is one of the reasons that I think you find in Revelation when it talks about the throne of God, the presence of God says in Revelation 4 verse 5 and from the throne came lightning, thunder and voice now in our world in the natural world. elements the brightest light is lightning and the loudest noise is thunder unless you have a volcano exploding or something I guess and even some volcanoes produce lightning and thunder and this glory, this powerful manifestation was shown by God when he gave his law when he spoke. to the nation because he was trying to emphasize and punctuate the solemnity and wonder of these words that he was going to speak audibly before the nation and many Christians have forgotten that the Ten Commandments are simply Commandments, they are not the Ten Commandments of God.
These are not God's 10 suggestions or 10 good ideas. These are God's commandments. How many of you listening think you could name them? Do you know them in order? could you recite them? They used to be every child in a synagogue or in a Sunday school recites the Ten Commandments and my father, who was not even religious, in his Baptist Church, he had memorized the Ten Commandments and we have a great study. People want to know where the Ten Commandments fit into today's Christian experience, doesn't the Bible? Let's say we are not under law but under grace, what does that mean?
We have a free offer that I think you will really appreciate. The study guide that is our free gift tonight is called Written in Stone and describes the event that took place. At Mount Sinai you find him recording Exodus chapter 20 and we will be happy to send anyone this free study guide that is called written in stone and the number to call is eight hundred eight three five six seven four seven, which is again the telephone line of resources. It is 800 eight three five six seven four seven and we want to encourage you to order the study guide called written in stone it will be a blessing while you study the different verses that you will find in the study guide we are ready to go to the phone lines our first caller tonight calling from New York we have Anthony Anthony welcome to the show hello good evening pastors, how are you doing?
Thanks for calling. Great, I want to be married for a few years and I like it. to try to help as a mentor give advice to some of my younger friends who you know aren't married yet or are looking to get married and are thinking about getting married but you know I want to make sure I'm gay good advice and tell them the right thing and then my question has to do with a combination of texts Genesis chapter 24 verse 4 where it says that Abraham tells us I think of Eliezer I said but you will go to my country and my family and you will take a wife for my son Isaac and then we have the fifth commandment where it says honor your father and mother he writes that your days may be long so obviously you know that Isaac had a relationship of trust with his father to allow him to choose a wife for him, but I want to know what that means.
For us today we have to allow our parents to choose a spouse for us to honor them and if we don't choose the person or we choose someone that day, you know they didn't choose for us, you know, marriage. and when they didn't choose for us it means we dishonored them and well, what does that mean? That's a great question. Yeah, sorry, I didn't mean to step on your words here. Problem with the invoice. That's a great question. Now he does it. First of all, it matters whether you are a believer and whether your parents were believers.
In my case, when I got married, I was believing that my parents weren't parents, so you know I couldn't completely trust their advice. Note also in the Bible when there was a marriage that took place, there was often a contract and the obligations of one parent were to pay a dowry to another, so the parents were involved because they often helped pay the dowry. dowry and sometimes they helped them settle down, of course, it's a Today the culture is a little different from what we had back then. I think many marriages would have a higher success rate if young Christians would listen to their parents' advice Now, if you are dating someone and you have Christian parents and your parents and your grandparents see a lot of red flags, you should really trust their wisdom and your judgment and today you know everyone by seeing all these love stories and they somehow dismiss the idea that you know wisdom and Your parents' advice should be taken as a factor, it is simply following your heart, a kind of nonsense that the people here, but I think it would be a good idea if you have believing parents and they have a history of good judgment, listen to their judgment, sometimes they don't say "get married or don't get married", they might say wait a little and don't give them no advice, you know, make sure you settle down or whatever, but yeah, I'm there.
Don't think there's a biblical commandment that says you shouldn't get married without the support of your mother and father, but if they are believers and it's probably a good idea to listen to their advice, you know we have a book. a study guide that is part of our study guide series and is simply a great resource for young Christians thinking about marriage. It's called keys to a happy marriage. It has some very practical advice and it's something that I've already mentioned if you're a Christian, your parents are Christians, so it's very important to heed your parents' advice and you know, prayerfully consider what they say, sometimes parents can see things. , they know you well and can see certain personality traits and them.
You will be able to guide a person on what character traits will be a good fit or if there are areas of concern, so it makes a lot of sense to listen to the advice of God-fearing parents. Yes, no, I agree, but having said that. something came to mind that I thought I should mention and I have run into situations before where there is, for example, a mother, maybe the parents were divorced and there is a mother and she has an adult son and he is thinking about get married and the mother is so worried about the wife replacing her that no one is good enough for her son and you know, I see these guys, they're 55, the mother would never approve the get married button, so there's a balance between respecting and taking into account their advice and yet the Bible says that a man leaves his father and mother and joins his wife, so I believe that God builds a certain desire for independence and everyone at some point moment, but that must be taken into account, so of course the free offer.
I will send it to anyone who calls and asks for the number. The number to call is 800 835 five six seven four seven and I ordered the study guide called Keys to a Happy Marriage. Thanks for your call Anthony, we have Joshua listening. in Texas Josh, you are welcome to the program Hello Baptists, are you done? Thank you for asking your question. My question was that I was reading today Hebrews chapter six verses four through six and that text is about salvation and I was looking for different pastors and I got different answers regarding Hebrews chapter six, some say that one is saved, always saved and that doesn't seem right because if you do that, some people, if they are tempted, may see salvation as an excuse to do whatever they want. but then I look at a pastor who also says well you could lose your salvation, but I tell you what Joshua before you say more about it, we have a lot of friends listening who don't know what text we're talking about. about, can I read it to you?
Yes, yes, so friends, this is verse six of the chapter of Hebrews and I will read the versesfour to six because it is impossible for those who were once enlightened and tasted the heavenly gift and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come if they fall to renew them again to repentance since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God and expose him to open shame, which of course sounds like You know that after a person has been completely converted, if they turn away, it is impossible to renew them to repentance so now go ahead and finish your thought. there Joshua.
I just wanted people to have the context, yeah, so my thinking was in regards to if you lose your salvation and I can think of biblical examples like Saul and how? Can the Christian be sure that he will not lose his salvation? I don't want to fall into one ditch or fall into the other ditch, so what is correct in interpreting this scripture? Yeah, I think we were grappling with that question this week. Someone also asked, but there is a delicate balance in the life of every Christian between having the assurance of salvation. God doesn't want us to walk around wringing our hands wondering all the time if I'm going to make it and
liveat the same time. a life of caution where you know that Paul said that each one should examine himself if he is in the faith, although there needs to be some self-examination so that we do not deceive ourselves.
Paul said lest I preach to others and myself be a shipwrecked man. Paul said there was a risk that he could be preaching to others and get lost because he was presuming on God's grace for balance in the Christian life. Jesus says that if we come to him, there is no way he will let us go, no man can take us away. we from the hand of his father if we surrender daily to Christ and take up our cross and follow him we are not worried if we will achieve it the Lord says that he is the author and finisher of our faith we just have to stay close to Jesus be growing in sanctification by following him constantly but at the same time it is unwise for someone to say well, I accepted Jesus when I was 12 in church, I said this prayer, I am saved from time to time you don't go to church and you
livefor the world and you talk like the world and you say okay, but what I'm saying is, of course, presumption and you know Jesus said you will know them by their works, by their fruits, so does that make sense?
Yes, I was thinking about In regards to all the situations, he himself got the Holy Spirit, but then he left it because of all the crimes he did well and then if we look at David, he also receives the spirit, but he also committed bad things like killing Uriah. Uriah sleeping. with Bathsheba but the Holy Spirit didn't leave him more or less what's the difference with David and Saul, you know, that's a good point, even Samson, after he started misbehaving, was filled with the Holy Spirit, it says that the Spirit of the Lord. on him and even after he was filled with the spirit, he misused that spirit and that power that God gave him a few times for selfish purposes and God didn't draw his spirit until you know he got to the point where he was about to sell a soul to Delilah, but even Samson, when he prayed, in the end, the Holy Spirit was given to him again and I trust that he was forgiven, so you can definitely grieve the Spirit of God permanently and I think some like Samson grieve him at least temporarily until they repent.
You know that we have a book that may be interesting to you, called Joshua. Can a saved man choose to be lost and listed before anyone wants to learn more about what the Bible says about how one can lose his salvation? I will be happy. to send this to anyone who calls and asks again for the number, it's eight hundred eight three five six seven four seven and you can request it, it's one of our royal books, it's called, can a saved man choose to get lost? Will be happy to forward this to anyone who calls and asks, next caller is John listening in California.
John, welcome to the Jimmy Pastors Evening show. Yes, my question is: are there female angels? Does it say anywhere in the Bible to talk about that for a second? The obvious differences between men and women is their anatomy in the sense that a woman's body is clearly designed not only to give birth but also to breastfeed children and that was the job you know, it's one of the ways in which You can tell the difference between a man and a woman, but what about angels? They don't marry or give in marriage, so male or female angels probably don't have the same type of plumbing, so I don't think there are any examples in the Bible of female angels that it does.
There is a vision in which there are two women with wings like a stork, but I don't think they are angels, as Zechariah sees it, but usually in the Bible when an angel appears it refers to them as a man or he, so I don't know no Bible verse. where he says an angel and uses the term she, she's still there, okay yeah, if angels don't marry or procreate, and I don't know why God would make angels have a particular gender, but it's usually referenced to them with the ji, it's okay. well thanks for your call John and the next one of the babies calling from Florida we have a liar who is listening liar welcome to the program hello so my question has to do with the role of women in the ministry and in the Bible particularly I have a question about a verse, are you sure? um, it's things like the first big news and it says that 34 women must remain silent in the churches, they are not allowed to speak but they must be in submission, so you are in First Corinthians, what chapter thirty-fourteen, well, there let's go first.
Corinthians 14 verse 34 If I am sorry then we must remain silent in the churches they are not allowed to speak but they must be in submission as the law says but not to ask about something they must ask their own husbands at home or it is a shame for a woman to speak in church yes, you are wondering if this means that a woman can never speak in a church every time you see a verse like this that says something and you say something and you say, look at other verses and find out where the preponderance of the evidence.
Does this verse say that a woman is not allowed to open her mouth and make any type of verbal communication in a holy place? I don't think so because they are places where there are women praying in the church. You have the story where Joseph and Mary take the baby Jesus to the temple in the Gospel of Luke in Hannah, who is a prophetess, is there and apparently speaks, otherwise why would they include her in the story and you know you have the Philip's daughters? that was prophesied, so I don't think this is saying that a woman could never speak in the church, but the Bible does say that there is a distinction in roles in the law between men and women and the current problem of the Corinthian church evidently I had some pending issues. problems because there were men and women who went to church, the men did not sit with the women, if you travel through India, another Middle East, you will see many of the churches, the women, the men do not sit together, they think they want make sure and keep your eyes on the Lord and get different places the Jews had the courtyard for the women and they could pray, but I think the services were becoming disruptive with the women calling their husbands and publicly teaching them what Paul was saying.
Paul said that's kind. of humiliating them well you know that you also have the verse st. chapter in verse 40, I think this sums up what Paul's advice is for the church, he says to do all things decently and in order and if you read on, he is addressing certain themes that were prevalent in the church in Corinth and It seems like your church services could get a little out of control with people saying things or yelling or interrupting the service and so in that context, Paul is actually addressing a specific situation in a specific church, it doesn't necessarily apply to all churches because the examples we have are in the Bible for example Hannah went to the temple and she was praying so that doesn't mean a woman can never speak in a church setting yeah Aliyah yeah that makes it clear , well, hey, you know, we have a book that I'm going to send you that addresses this verse.
I wrote this about 810 years ago. It's called the role of women in ministry and, of course, God calls men and women to various ministry roles. He wants every believer to use his gifts and so he responds. some of these questions we will send you a free copy, the number he should call is eight hundred eight three five six seven four seven and you can order the book called the role of women in ministry and we will be happy to send it to you. to anyone who calls and asks, we have Glen listening in from Ohio Glen, welcome to the show, good night to you, but it's a good night to hear that, though thanks for taking the call, I'm sure my question apparently has to do with with one episode.
That happened in the book of Mark, we have Jesus talking to some people there and they say Lord, we cast out demons and we heal the sick and the mute speak and the deaf hear and Jesus informed them that whoever wants to depart from me. work iniquity I never knew you and the interesting thing to me is who was the you that Jesus was talking to what was the iniquity that he accused him of what did he mean when he said I never knew you and perhaps the most intriguing question of all Is he healing? Well, let's see first.
I'm going to read in Matthew chapter 7 verse 21. This is almost a parallel verse. Jesus said that not everyone who calls me Lord Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my father in heaven many will say to me on that day Lord Lord, have we not prophesied in your name, cast out demons in your name and done many wonderful works in your name and then I will confess that I never knew you were leaving? from me you who work anarchy and the word anarchy there is iniquity is the same word first of all iniquity iniquity means anarchy or living in an open, arrogant and disobedient way once you know the will of God to sin means that you simply do not do it You do not have the ability to hit the target, anarchy, means or iniquity, you deliberately point in a different direction, you're not even trying to hit the target, so this is Jesus is talking to people who say look, we went to church, you know that we did it. all these outwardly religious things and in your name and he will say I never really knew you you were doing your thing because you did not do the will of my father Christ said elsewhere not everyone who says to me Lord Lord will enter the kingdom, but those who do the will of my father who is in heaven and that is also in Luke 6:46, then those whom Christ addresses here are hypocrites and keep in mind that he is speaking here in Matthew, he said that some of you pray to be seen by men give to be seen by men you fast now these are religious things they are praying they are giving they are fasting but they are doing it for human reward he said I don't know you you know Depart from me, you who do iniquity, many of the religious leaders in Jesus' days were very religious, very zealous, very demanding about their religion, but they rejected Jesus and crucified him and he said: you don't know me, so a saving relationship is knowing.
Christ and that's from John chapter 17 says this is eternal life so that they may know you, the only true God and Jesus Christ whom you have sent, so we don't want the Lord to say, I don't know you if we know the Lord. We will be listening to his voice, he said, my sheep listen to my voice and follow me, we will obey him and be willing to do his will day by day, so I hope that is a great question, Glenn, I hope it helps. a little bit and your passage is in Mark and in Matthew 8 3 you read from Matthew your friends we are going to take a break in a few moments for a few moments we will have a drink of water when we return we will see you in line for questions Kaleo Kalyan Oh Rick Karl we will be there we will be there Stay tuned Live Bible Answers will be returning shortly if you enjoy hearing solid Bible answers in Live Bible Answers, you can have those same ideas at your fingertips through the Amazing Facts, Study Bible Prophecy, Updated Hardcover The version is available at its lowest price and includes the complete set of amazing facts, 27 study guides, plus tables of numbers and symbols from the Bible and eight pages of colorful maps.

biblequestions we will do our best next time half an hour to answer them I'm Doug Batchelor my name is John Ross we have our next person listening Miami Claudia welcome to the program hi Colleen because I have a question about Elijah and the other prophet that followed him and all the miracles that he was doing because he had the Spirit of God with him yes and through that he had a double portion so with respect to David I think he well my question is about why when the person who followed him I don't know his name Elijah, you had the right jaw and then Elijah received the double portion of Elijah's spirit, okay, the second Elijah Elijah Elijah, yeah, and then he was going up and then he saw his own children, not like me. you know at what age, like 13 years old, some young men came out and were making fun of him because they called them good in English, you would say go up, bald, if they were good, yes, and you wonder why then he Curses them and the bears came out and they were torn apart so you wonder why that happened yeah so you find the story of Elijah and Elijah in the second chapter 2 of Kings and not long after Elijah receives a double portion of Elijah's spirit very early on.
The people of his ministry had heard that God took Elijah to heaven and a chariot of fire. Elijah who stayed behind received a double portion of Elijah's spirit and then some young men came out of the city and mocked him because he was evidently bald and They said go away. Come up, bald man, in other words, why don't you go up like he's lying? You went up, they didn't really believe he was lying, you went to heaven and they were making fun of them and making fun of him as he walked down the road. Come up, bald. head now this is the prophet of God he is the prophet chosen by God filled with the Spirit of God for the nation if he did not do something here at the beginning of his ministry to help them recognize that they needed to revere his position so he turned around and pronounced a curse on them and it says that two bears came out of the forest and mauled 42 of them now it doesn't say that any of them were killed, it sounds like the bears wiped them out, she the bears her mother the bears are very ferocious like the they raged biting and scratching them and those young men had scars to remind them that they should never curse the prophet of God again during the rest of Elijah's ministry, no one wagged their tongue at him and he continued to minister. probably fifty years, so that's a good question Claudio, hopefully that helps.
They were making fun of him saying: go up bald, in other words, go up like Elijah if you really are a prophet of God and he would not allow them to continue making fun of him, thank you for that. We have Rick listening in California Rick, welcome to Live Bible Answers Hello Pastors, How are you doing today? Thanks for calling out his question. Oh well, my question is a little bit about the mark of the beast and some modern things that are happening. Around the Kovach virus there is a patent on a technology that will be in I guess a tattoo that will mark people who have received the vaccine and the patent number is wo, this is what the UN wo 20 2006 zero six zero six and One of the interesting things is the luminescent or reflective chemical or whatever is in these invisible tattoos.
It is only visible in certain types of light. I guess so, infrared light, oh yeah, it's called luciferase or something, I'm not sure. I'm pronouncing it correctly, yeah, well, lose sight, let go, okay, it's a Greek word for light, so I wanted surprise, right, so you're wondering if the mark of the beast exists, well, I don't think I'm a knight. , I know. He was showing me this information he told me that when you go to get vaccinated they are going to mark you and then that's it, you are sealed and done, you know you will never go to heaven.
You've sold your soul to the devil and I know you've talked about brand being more about what we do with our actions on the right hand and how we think in our minds, yeah, so I think that's off base, but I I still wanted your thoughts because I see a lot of what's going on and the evil that's omnipresent, as you know, it's coming, you know, Satan has a good hand in this, yeah, well, I think there's cause for concern about when people lose their freedoms and if you know that the powers of the government are starting to tell you that you can't go to church right away, you have cause for concern and I understand that if there is a viable pandemic and you gather together, you can help spread this contagion that you know you can risk the people's lives and I think as Christians you don't want to tempt the Lord, you don't want to endanger someone else's life, but the very fact that governments have had to take this step and then you know that they have done it I still don't know.
They demand it, they recommend it. I think what I've heard so far is that they say the vaccine, if they develop one, will be voluntary and they will encourage people to take it. It is high risk to take it because they say at the beginning that they will not even have it for their friend and that you know that there are people who want to know how we know that you have been vaccinated correctly. I'm not sure they're going to do it. develop a sophisticated new system, they have been giving vaccines to people because I was just reading about them having the vaccine, it had been Franklin Day for smallpox and people kept records, we keep records of our children's vaccines in this moment, so the idea that now they need a computer chip for this particular flu vaccine, everything that is a corona virus is a flu vaccine.
They give it every year, so it's worrying if they say, but for this particular vaccine you need to get a tattoo that can be seen with a UV light or them. I'm going to put an RF D under your skin or something. I'm hearing all kinds of things and I just sit back and wait to see what the truth is, but we have to be careful not to speculate. in hysteria about what this is biblically the mark of the beast is not a vaccine it is not a tattoo either worshiping the Beast will mean something you do with your life in your heart and your actions God is not going to punish people because they receive a vaccine, so we have a lesson on this baby, yes, I read that before, yes, it's cold, the mark of the beast.
I will be happy to send this lesson to anyone who has requested it. The number is 883 five six seven four seven. yeah, so the study guide is called the mark of the beast and you will learn everything the Bible has to say about this very important topic, especially related to the last days in eight hundred eight three five six seven four seven thank you Rick, we have a car listening to canada crawl welcome to the show good evening gentlemen thank you for taking my call yes my question get very close to your phone Karl because your fainting is horrible I'm sorry I'm sorry what's going to happen after the Second Coming so essentially they pointed me out to Isaiah. 66 verses 19 where it says I will establish a sleigh among them I will send survivors from among them to Tarshish, the archer will discharge the two balls to he he go and to the distant island and to the nation that has not heard of my fame or see my glory so that they may proclaim my glory among the nations in other words what they are telling me is that Jesus will come, establish his kingdom on earth and send ambassadors to these places that have never heard of him. that they have the opportunity to learn about Jesus, you know, I prophesy there in Isaiah.
I believe it is a prophecy, but I do not believe it will be after the Lord comes. I believe that in Isaiah's prophecy he continues as seen in Revelation and Daniel goes. Back and forth, he is not doing it all in chronological order when he speaks in chapter 66 verse 19. I think he is saying that when he pours out the Spirit on his people, he will send them Tarshish, it was a Kingdom far away. . Where Jonah wanted to flee he is naming kingdoms that are far away to send messengers to them and listen to be prepared not to experience what happens when he says that with fire and with his sword the Lord will supplicate. all flesh and speaks of the coming of God again behold the Lord will come verse 15 with fire and his periods he is saying before he comes he wants as many to be saved as possible he will send representatives to these distant lands to here no Don't think that after that he will come and judge the people with fire on the sword, then he will send missionaries to convert the people, so I don't know what you think, but you know that there is a parallel verse that we find in Revelation chapter 18 that talks about an angel coming down from heaven it says that the earth is illuminated with this glory and really this is a description of what we call the loud cry is a special evangelistic effort with the Holy Spirit where the gospel is preached around the world especially to those who have never heard it before and that parallels the experience we find here in verse 19 of Isaiah 66 where the gospel is spreading to the ends;
Of course, chapter 18 of Revelation is just before the second coming of Christ and so one might assume that what we are reading here in verse 19 refers to just before Jesus comes or before the close of probation. , a special proclamation of the gospel and then, of course, after Jesus comes, who know from other passages of Scripture that the righteous are taken to heaven and the wicked or destroyed that the brightness of his coming Jesus tells the one who is holy , let him who is unclean be holy even, let him be unclean still behold, I am coming quickly and my reward is with me, so after Jesus comes, there are only two groups. those are righteous and saved and those who are wicked and lost cannot change sides yes, that is something else that I think you are seeing in this verse Carl, you look at the last part of the verse how 20 and 21 says that about all nations, he He will call the people to come to him and I will make them priests and Levites.
This is something that also happened when the gospel came out after Pentecost, it will happen again before the second coming, the Jews were surprised that Paul was preaching and Peter was preaching to the Gentiles and then the Gentiles were filled with the spirit and went out to preach and then I think Isaiah is letting us know that the gospel is not just for the Jews, but for everyone in this prophecy, thank you for your call, a good question. Mexico. I love babies Chris and he's listening from Nebraska Chris welcome to the show hello good evening I hope you're full tonight we're doing great and thank you for calling your question Chris my question concerns the different types of meat in 1 Timothy 4 verse 4 King chapter 4 verse 4 and my question was: Does God really say that all animals are clean if they fall prey to them?
Well, let's read his thoughts, yes, let's start with verse 1 in 1 Timothy 4 so we understand the context now. The spirit expressly speaks that in recent times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, prohibiting marriage and commanding abstinence from the foods that God created to be received with. on Thanksgiving Day, now first of all it says this branch or this deviant religion that prohibits people from getting married. Is there a large church somewhere that prefers to command its priesthood to marry and commands them to abstain from foods that God has created?
They say it can be done. t eat fish on certain days of the week and is he saying when he says in verse 4 that every creature of God is good and nothing can be rejected? Is Paul saying that everything that crawls must be eaten if you pray for it now? First of all, I have to think about that for a second, that would mean you know Christians can eat cockroaches and bats. Look at all the problems the world has now because people are eating bats and pangolins. Does that mean you can eat skunks and vultures and technically humans?
They are creatures, every creature of God is good, nothing that can be rejected. Does that mean goddess in cannibalism? Okay, no, he's not talking about this. If you look at Paul's writings, he talks about some of the Orthodox Christians and Jews who were afraid to eat meat, talking about clean meat. meats, you know, goat, sheep and so on, that were sold in the public markets because before the Romans and the Greeks killed something, they offered it to the Greek and Roman deities, they said oh, we can't eat it and Paul was saying , look at the legalists among the people say you can't eat anything that has been offered to an idol Paul said look if you didn't offer it to an idol don't worry pray for it God will bless it he wasn't saying Christians can eat anythingthing to call across your plate because there is no Christian parent listening to me right now who tells their children that they can eat whatever they want if they pray for it, based on that reasoning that a child on the way to school in the morning You can make a banana split and topped it with chocolate syrup and when your parents say what the hell do you think you're doing, they'll say but don't worry mom dad, I'm going to pray about it and God will bless it.
The Bible says that God does not. you mocked what you sow what you are going to reap and if you are eating foods that are full of cholesterol or that are unclean, you will get the disease, you will get the cholesterol god, we cannot mock God or tempt the Lord with this. He is talking about a great cult church that would arise that deviated from the Bible and he is also talking about those who criticized others for eating things sold in the Roman market, clean foods that we are talking about, you know, the last verse that says verse five.
It is sanctified by the Word of God, so it is not just any type of food, but food that is set apart or sanctified by the Word of God and, of course, we know that the Bible distinguishes clean foods from unclean foods. , yeah, so that's it. something to keep in mind thanks for your call Chris we have Jennifer listening in California Jennifer welcome to the show hello so my question is is this okay for a married Christian couple. It's a fair question and we hear periodically that the Bible is being talked about. keep the Sabbath holy and some people will say well the Bible says you don't know how to make your own ways or seek your own pleasure now when God says and I think it's Isaiah 58 or it says not to find your own ways or seek your own pleasure does that mean You are only supposed to do what is unpleasant on the Sabbath.
God gave us taste buds so that we can absolutely enjoy food and there is nothing wrong with enjoying the things that God has blessed and sanctified on the Sabbath? And I would think that if the first thing God says to Adam and Eve is on the sixth day of the week and then God says it to them before the sun sets. He now he just introduced Eve to Adam and tells them to be fruitful and multiply, but don't touch her in the next. twenty-four hours or vice versa. I don't think there's anything in Scripture that says that's a Sabbath command now if a husband and wife agree Paul says if they're fasting and if they greet abstain now there's nothing wrong with eating food on the Sabbath, But if you are a fasting woman, you are fasting and you are not eating food, you can also fast from physical intimacy and Paul said that the husband and wife should agree, let's say, let's spend this.
I am fasting and we will deny each other physical food and some of the other physical pleasures that would be perfectly appropriate in a marriage, he said, but do not prolong it lest you be tempted and become inconsistent. I'm paraphrasing, so surely a couple can agree to fast. and pray and separate even during the Sabbath, but otherwise I don't see a command that says that would be wrong, so I hope it helps a little. That is a good question. Very well thank you. Thanks Jennifer, we have a book. that talks about marriage and it is for anyone we mentioned once before it is called keys to a happy marriage and we will send it to anyone who requests it the number is 883 five six seven four seven request the study guide called keys to a happy marriage marriage without pet passwords just skipping sorry I forgot, I think we both forgot, we have a book called how to keep the sabbath holy, that's right, and I think it's a font, yes, it's the same size, anyone could be Jennifer, so again number one. more time eight hundred eight three five six seven four seven ask the book how to keep the sabbath holy we have Bradley listening in Missouri Bradley welcome to the program hello pastors good evening thank you for answering my question yes, so my question actually comes from I think it's a question similar to the one asked a few minutes ago, but first before, when talking about paying attention to seducing spirits and the doctrines of demons, everything talks about forbidding me to marry and ordering me to say what God has created to be received with Action of Thank you, I understand that you know that there are meats that are created to be received with the meat of the Thanksgiving Queen, so my question here is that Paul speaks of vegetarianism as the doctrine of demons when he says that there are those who will command to abstain from clean, no.
I think you know that Paul is making a prophecy, he says that the spirit expressly speaks that in the end times some will fall away from the faith. I think Paul is talking about this power of the Antichrist that was going to arise and he talks about his second Thessalonians that then that evil one who opposes everything called God will sit in the temple of God showing him what selfie he has to God. Paul, I think he is predicting the same power that would prohibit marriage, which is perfectly holy, normal, yes, the verse speaks of his past. 2nd Thessalonians chapter 2 verse 3 and 4 yes you can read it yes it says that no one deceive you in any way because that day will not come unless you first support each other so that the man of sin, the son of perdition who opposes, may be revealed. and exalts himself above all that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God showing himself that He is God, yes, and I think this is parallel when Paul says that some will fall away of faith.
Thessalonians say they will fall. far away and I don't think it has anything to do with it is that vegetarianism is a doctrine of demons, why would God say that you have to be meat, eat meat to be healthy? If he made Adam and Eve vegetarian and in heaven he will be a vegetarian, so there is nothing sinful. about being vegetarian, doctors today recommend it and there is a lot of evidence that it will prolong a person's life and is better for their health, not to mention that it is much better for animals if you don't eat them, but no.
I don't think it's a doctrine of demons to be a vegetarian, it's where you are that kind of what you were wondering Brady, absolutely thank you for the clarification and thank you, thank you very much, keep us in your prayers, well, who is the next Teresa? Yes. Theresa listening in British Columbia Theresa, welcome to the program, thank you very much, Pastor John and Pastor Doug. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Jennifer Lee, for all of us, can you explain how Jesus or anyone else will pray for long periods of time, for example, everyone? Night like this literal or How do you like it?
Do they take breaks? Do they do it? They repeat things. I mean, some of us don't have the gift of words, so I wonder how that happened. I used to wonder that too and you know. I think the more time you spend talking to the Lord in prayer and the more you feel his voice responding to you in prayer, your conversations can become deeper and longer and you really start to see that you have a long relationship. To be honest, communication happened only a couple of times in my life, to be honest, if I was up all night in prayer but I was with someone else and we were studying, we studied and prayed about what we studied, then we studied and prayed. about what we study and then all of a sudden we notice his sun is rising and at one point I was so excited I think I spent the night in parishes up driving all night but yeah Jesus you know he had a relationship with the father . where he's one on one, I think also right after that you know it's not like every night you're going to spend the night in prayer, but it's those experiences and I've had the same kind of experience that maybe you're in. facing a particular trial or maybe there is a health problem in the family or maybe there is a child who needs special intercessory prayer and it is a burden on your heart, it is not that difficult to pray almost all night if your soul is heavy and We are earnestly seeking God's intervention, whether praying for someone who is sick or for the salvation of another person.
Those times that Jesus prayed all night and that we have recorded, we find that after that Jesus often did something special related to The disciples once prayed all night and then called the 12 disciples and you know, ordained them for service. , so to pray all night you usually need to have a good reason for doing it, otherwise you'll end up saying the same thing over and over again. and the
biblesays do not pray in vain repetitions but if your heart is loaded with something you know it is not that difficult to pray if you saints need the praise of God and some blessing yes and do not feel bad Teresa because when Jesus prayed that night before the Garden of Gethsemane, asked the disciples to pray with them and they fell asleep, so sometimes the Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak, there is nothing wrong with taking a rest, if you are dedicating a night to prayer, maybe you can do it.
I know how to get started instead of committing all night, so yes, I want to spend a whole hour in prayer. Most people spend no more than 10 minutes in prayer a day. I'm talking about formal prayer, so yes, good question, although I have thought about it before spending. a whole night in prayer, how can you work the next day? Well, you know, we have a book that talks about prayer and it's called Teach Us to Pray and it's about these principles, not just prayer, but I think it's also about attitude things. so we want to pray and will be happy to send this to AU Teresa or anyone who wants to learn more about how to have a vibrant prayer life.
The number to call is eight hundred eight three five six seven four. seven and again you can ask for the book teach us to pray and it relates to what the disciples asked Jesus after Christ had been praying the disciples came to him and said teach us to pray and that is good for us to ask what pastor as if we were looking at the clock, I don't think we have enough time on the show tonight to take another call, it probably won't be fair, but for those of you who are still on hold, we apologize for not being able to get through. your question tonight, but God willing we plan to have another live show next Sunday and we have nowhere to go, shion is fine anywhere, we will be here friends Matt, if a queen could stay in this room for one more week, so I'll be praying for a whole week.
