I'm going to use this Halloween sign from Dollar Tree and you. I can use this sanding block from Dollar Tree to remove the glitter, but I really like the sign so I'm going to use the back and use my sanding block to remove the residue from the sticker that comes with it. so in the end you will be able to use both sides of the sign once you have everything removed, make sure you remove all the dust and cut the rope that comes with it.

Now I want to cover these holes and I'm going to use light caulk from Dollar Trees to do that and they're a putty knife. I only took a small amount of product and I'm going to fill this part as well. Now I will tell you that this takes a long time to dry. I've used other brands of caulk that dry pretty quickly, but this one took a while, but that's okay because it's only a

dollar

, so I filled those cracks in, and even though it's not facing up, it's totally fine. I also went. Go ahead finished the other side and the next day I took my same sanding block and I'm going to straighten those pieces although you won't see it but I still want to straighten it so I can use the other side of the sign so next I'm going to paint my sign and as you can see, the other side is still intact, so I'm going to use folk arts chalk paint and white and a little foam brush from Dollar Tree.

I just want to show look how well the glitter covered those little cracks there. I was really just testing to see if this was going to work. I was very glad that it was and as you can see, everything is nice and covered. I gave the entire board two coats to make it look good. completely covered and once it was completely covered I decided to add some letters now for this you can do it in word but I used my phone and I used an app called font oh I clicked on the little photo icon at the bottom and I went to my photo albums where I saved a blank white photo that you can google and then I pressed done at the top and tapped my image to write what I wanted so I just typed the word laundry and then I made a successful font and I chose to love that .

It's sturdy, you can choose whatever you want and then I resized it to 3.00 and with my finger I dragged it to the top left corner and then I saved it. Saving it on your phone may be different. This is on an iPhone. then I opened it in my photos and edited it by rotating it so it can fit the entire screen when I print, so once I sent it to print it covers the entire screen and I went ahead and typed Co using the exact same steps now. I'm going to go ahead and put these two pieces together using a little bit of tape, but I'm going to make sure that the tape doesn't cover any of the letters so it doesn't get in my way, so now I'm just going to Cut this off so I can maneuver it a little better, so I'll fold it and cut it now that I have my template.
I'm going to turn it around and use any color sidewalk chalk. except the white of course since our chalk paint is white and I'm going to outline the letters instead of outlining the entire page, the reason I do that is so I don't have glue everywhere. I did it with my black chalk paint and it worked well, but I thought with the blue it would get a little confusing, so now I'm going to place it exactly where I want it and try not to move it around too much. I'm going to tape it down making sure I don't get any of the letters coming off and then with a pencil and a pencil, something sharp, you're going to outline your letters, you don't have to fill them in, you just want to really outline them. all right so you can see it when you pick up this paper and I'm not going to show you how I do all this because it would bore you and make this video a lot longer, but you get the point.
We're just going to make sure that we outline every detail to make your life easier later so you can check how it is and how it's transferring and as you can see it's transferring beautifully and when you're done you can delete this. completely and look how good it looks now you can use a marker to outline it, but I'm using this black painter's pen and keeping my stencil just as a guide. I'm going to go ahead and do the same. I'm also going to outline all my letters and this will make my life a lot easier when it comes time to paint because I won't have to paint all those fine details and run the risk of getting smudges, which I still did, but believe me, it makes you life much easier and feel free to move everything around to make it easier for you, this is what it looks like and now I'm going to use this Apple Barrel and paint in jet black and I'm just going to use a very small brush and fill in those lines.
You don't have to fill in the lines. You can leave it as is. It totally depends on you. So you can see here where I smeared my paint. I'm going to wait until everything dries completely and then I'll go back with my chalk paint and a clean brush and wipe everything off like you would with your makeup concealer, so now we're ready to move on to the fun part which is the framing and I. I'm going to use the Dollar Tree Jenga that's on the website. If you can't find it in stores, I will outline the bottom to see how many I need and in total I ended up using 13 for the top and bottom.
As you can see, they stick out from the side, but once you add the three side pieces, everything is completely covered, so when you put everything together, the frame will be on top of the

wood

board or you'll see it in a second. I'm going to move my Jenga out of the way and use gorilla

wood

glue and a popsicle stick to attach it. I'm going to use a popsicle stick instead of the nozzle so it doesn't leak and I can stain everything, you're going to attach them to each other, but not to the frame yet because that's not how it's going to look, you just want to use the frame as a guide , this is what it's going to look like, well it's drying and there are still gaps because that's not how it's going to be, trust me, just be a little patient, do a row of 13, another row of 13 for the top, a row of three for the side and another row of three for the other side, obviously, and you'll let everything dry once it's completely dry and you can pick it up without anything breaking.
You can dye if you want. Now I'm going to stain using my Minwax. Of course, you can use shoe polish or whatever you like. I want to and I'm going to use my little foam brush so now I'm just going to brush it and make sure I cover all the sides because I have every intention of using the back of the frame once everything is completely stained. Make sure to let this time dry completely before continuing, so when it comes time to assemble I'll use my L-shaped ruler or a square. See you, I read the comments and I will use this to help me.
Get it into a perfect shape and I'm going to attach it using my Gorilla wood glue and I'm going to be very generous with this part so I'm going to do the same thing on the other side and let it dry very, very well. Once it's completely dry, I'll place it on top of my board to see what it looks like and then add wood glue around my actual image. Now, when you do this at home, you will realize that you are going to move. things to make it fit well, but trust me, in the end everything is completely covered, so now I'm going to turn it around and to hang it on the wall, you can use command strips or you can add a hook, but I'm going to use the tape foam mounting and I'll add it to my corners in the middle.
Now you can see that it's still wet, so I'm going to let it sit and dry and once it's completely dry you can put it on the wall. And bam, you have a beautiful and affordable

farmhouse

laundry sign. If you liked this video, don't forget to give me a thumbs up and thank you very much for watching until next time.
