What I did was I took this little round mirror from Dollar Tree and I took the back off so I could paint the front on the entire cart antique gold metallic now because it's not chalk paint, it's very thin at first, but if you give it a little coats it's going to get more opaque, so here I am, I'm just brushing it on in a few thin coats and letting it dry between each coat and there we go, here's my second coat and then I'll go back and do a third coat there. All right, the next thing I did was grab this pizza pan from the Dollar Tree as well and obviously I'm going to take the front off and grab this Waverly in the Ocean Chalk Paint.

I love this color, especially for summer. I'm going to put a little bit in the tray and brush it on and it's going to be beautiful just because you know we have a lot of chocolate color, it's a really good paint so if you've never tried it, definitely try it, it's wonderful. Don't go so far in the middle because I know the mirror will cover it and plus I thought it would stick better without the paint there, so like I said before, I'm going to join Yami from the Latina neighbor,

Now we are moving forward. I'm giving this pizza pan a second coat and I'm still using the really ocean wave chalk paint and I'll just put on a good coat and let it dry. Two coats were enough with this because it's a thicker consistency okay so here I'm putting on my third coat of antique gold folk art paint and it does exactly what I need it to do with that third coat so at this point I I realize I need to put some gold in the actual background of the Reflect this. I'm going to start in the middle because I know that's not going to show and I'll show you how I get lighter as I go out and continue in a circular formation and if you look at the inspiration piece. it's like everything blurs together is the best way I can describe it it's like all the colors start to blur together and you'll see it will start to get darker as it fades and I'll show you how I recreate that look so I'm just taking that gold paint and I'm putting it on the edges and I'm blending it all together at this point.
I will take. I love that I am covering the name of the painting. I'm taking elephant and ink. and I'm blending a little bit and I'm going to try to get as much off my brush as possible because I'm going to do a dry brush. This is a Dollar Tree like stencil brush and I really like it. nerve-wracking because I don't know, it's like the bristles are rough so it's like a chip brush so I like the way it works so now you'll see me come in and I'm going to do it in a circular formation again right now.
I agree that it doesn't look good because yeah, I'm still mixing everything together, but trust me, it's going to get better, so I'm taking the same mixture that I just did with the elephant and the ink and I'm putting it. I put it on the edge of the inside mirror and then I take a little bit of that gold and I go over it again until I get the consistency of the gold and black elephant that I like, okay, so I really like the way it looks. It looks like my inspiration piece, so I'm going to put the mirror back in and just put it in and it's done, so I'm just reviewing here what it's going to look like.
I don't know why I did what I did. I did, but went back to painting later. I should have painted at that point, but I guess I was anxious to get this front part on and I want to see where it will go and how much further I have to go on the gilding. I grab my fix everything glue from the Dollar Tree and I love that glue it's like an e 6000 and then I'll grab some hot glue so it stays instantly and I put it on nice make sure you press the actual mirror. down because it sits a little bit higher and it won't stick un

you push it down against the pizza pan, so here I'm grabbing some Mod Podge matte spray.
Some of you asked me if I like this stuff. I love Mod Podge spray. I don't know, I feel like the other Mod Podge gets really sticky and thick and yeah, so I covered that mirror with a little round piece of paper and put it on and that was so the Mod Podge wouldn't get dirty. the mirror up so now I'm going to go in with a little more gold paint and I don't know why I did Mod Podge before I did this don't ask but I did I thought I thought I was done this is what I think It happened I thought I was done finished until I went back and looked at the inspiration piece and realized I needed more gold on the outside and a little more gold around the mirror part to match my Ballard Designs inspiration piece and I'm still playing with this . until I get it exactly where I want it and you can see I'm mixing all those colors together and I have to tell you I wasn't sure how this was going to turn out and in the end I love how it looks.
I don't know how it looks on camera but it looks so cool in person and I really think it fits the inspiration piece and here is my final product, well here we go, here is the Ballard Cassidy mirror. Designs and sale was for one hundred and nineteen

dollar

s and 25 cents, but my cost was only two

dollar

s, so yes, it was a big savings of one hundred $17.25. I make the number two striped rope basket so my inspiration was more of a basket but I really wanted to stick with cheap dollar products and I recently bought this planter and I thought I would use it more like a basket so that's why I went in that direction, but my inspiration was more the striped rope than anything else.
Okay, so I'm taking the rope from Dollar Tree and separating the pieces into two, three, and four to make this complete planner. It took me two ropes so it was like a rope and a little bit less than a rope because I had some left and it wasn't a complete piece so at first I put Mod Podge in my planter, yeah don't do that it wasn't a good idea because I thought it would help it stick and then all it did was make my hot glue like liquid and yeah so at this point I realize this isn't working so I take off the Mod Podge and I'll just stick with the hot glue and I'll just run that hot glue with beads along the previous one. a rope and I'll keep pushing it against each other to create that uniform look and you can see how I'm pushing it towards the rope that is higher than it is.
Am I explaining it to you well? If not, look what. I'm doing it right, so I'm just pushing it up on that top piece and right now I'm right at the end because I did it all the way and it really didn't take me that long, you know? which took me a long time to take the rope apart, that took me longer than just gluing it together, so yeah, I'm just telling you okay, so now I'm taking a little bit of the next rope and I'm going to make a ridge. at the top and I'm starting towards the bottom of the ridge and I'll keep going up.
I think I made three lines at the top to join two, three, one, two, three, four. I made four lines at the top and there you are. Come on, it's done, but wait, my favorite part. I'm going to burn all the lint off the rope and you know I enjoy doing this. It's very satisfying to me and you can see all that fluff there and I can understand it. because when I paint it it's going to get all painted blurry you know what I mean okay so the next thing I did was I took some water and a little bit of that ocean one more time and put it on so I'm doing more like a blue wash to put in that basket, planter, string planner, you know what I mean, also just want you to know that I added some Waverly chalk paint, an elephant that's like a dark gray, to that wash ocean blue because I wanted to have more. of a darker grayish navy blue color scheme, that's why I took this white masking tape because it's very thick and one I wanted one of my thick lines and one of my lines afterwards, so I made sure to adhere it very well, and push it down the sides so that wet paint doesn't seep underneath and mess up the lines we're trying to create, so now I'm using blue painter's tape as the center line and again I'm pushing down the sides. my best so that our liquid paint doesn't seep underneath and I think it's ready to go, so I'm going to take my blue-gray wash and I'm just brushing it on and it actually applies really well thanks to adding that. water, but I'll tell you as I went along that it was getting drier and it wasn't happening as well, so you can see here it's not happening as well, so at the end I'll go back and add some. water and it's smoother again, so even though it looks a little choppy there you'll see it get better, so now I'm removing the tape, which is really fun to watch.
I love it. I love it. do it like that and I love seeing other people do it. I don't know why they do it and you can see how it turned out and I love those stripes so now I'm going to come back with a little bit of blue and you know, touch up. all those sparse areas to make sure they're more opaque and I really love how it turned out. I'm adding a little bit of water in there to thin it out a little bit and get more coverage that way, which is funny. I would think it dilutes it, but it actually gave me more coverage because of the rope, so I'm adding a little more water here and I'm going to go back.
I waited until the blue came together, so this is another one. The next day I'm going to add white and to the water we actually put white paint on it and I'll tell you that when I put it on it looked good at first but then when it dried it was I don't know it was almost missing color it was it was strange really no I don't love the way it looked look, I got ready, I painted it white, you can't even tell it just looks like I don't know if it's chalky, so now I take the mineral color from Waverley chalk paint and I added it to the water and I added a little bit more and I love how it turned out , so mineral paint is a really cool color, it's like a khaki gray and I use this color quite a bit and here it is, so let's find out how much money we saved.
So, the Ballard Designs Round Raffia Basket was on sale for one hundred and seventy-one dollars and seventy-five cents and my cost was three dollars, which is a savings of one hundred and sixty-eight dollars and seventy-five cents. Yes, I know, so now we move on. to our jute twine vase, yes you can get yours at Dollar Tree, but I bought it at a thrift store and it kind of matched my inspiration, so that's why I'm using this. I use a little googan to remove some of that Sticky Tag residue and Googan works wonders. It's from Dollar Tree, so be sure to check it out.
This is the easiest. I wouldn't even call it DIY. I just like to remake an inspiration because it's decoration and inspiration, no, what would you call this? decorate an inspiration or I just don't know yeah I don't know what I call this but it's not even really a DIY yeah so I take some thread and I wrap it around the top of my bottle and what kills me is that. cost they wanted to charge us for this item because it's literally a vase with string around the top, that's it and you can find a vase like this at any thrift store, you can find them at Dollar Tree, you can find them at any thrift store. crafts is really inexpensive and look how

easy

it was and I'm burning off the extra fluff because why not and here is the decorative jute vase was regularly $30 yes, sale 2175, a savings of up to 1975 because my cost was only $2, yeah I know the final reveal here we go here are the three pieces that I created from my three Ballard Designs inspiration pieces and I love how they turned out and I have to be honest, I was really struggling with this challenge because yeah, it was.
It's the first time I've done a cheating challenge like this and I wanted it to be accurate and then I realized that, likeartisans, we don't want things to be exact, we want inspirational pieces and we want to put our own touch on things, and me. I am happy with how they turned out and I thought it was good that they were not exactly like the products of some

designs

and I am very happy with how they turned out and this mirror. I loved the way all the colors started. blending in and yeah, I just think it looks great in that basket.
I'm going to go with the mirror and beat my favorite. Tell me below which one is your favorite and let's see how much money we save by using Dollar Tree products. Okay, so the cost of the three products is three 112 dollars and 75 cents my price $7 yes, total savings of three hundred and five dollars and seventy-five cents Wow, that's it, this is the end of my video.
