Yeah, I'll post that right away for you, but today is the time of year that we have to talk about Corvette car covers. It's great to have them with us now in this part of the country. and at this time of year it is very unfortunate that many of you have to put your

corvette

away and what do you do to put a

corvette

car cover on it today and in this segment what we are going to show you is what not to do with your corvette cover Corvette car yes this is quite nice this is the accessory you order from General Motors this is the interior cover of the car because this beautiful zippered bag turns different colors red gray kalahari black please know if you can see that there is a little. embossed Corvette emblem there if you can see that oh my gosh this thing is nice it's like a blanket okay anyway before I show you what not to do we're going to show you how to put the car cover on The shell, believe it or not, there's a front and there's a back because there are covers for your mirrors.

In fact, some people called me and said, hi, Rick. I tried and I tried. I'll give you a small tax hint in front, well what do you think is beautiful? I think it's probably the best car cover in the business. This comes from GM accessories. This is the indoor car cover. with that

bag and it comes in alternate colors too y'all see me put it on and see how tight that cover is this is what i dont want you to do with your car covers on your new corvettes im talking about a corvette that was produced recently or something you ordered and it arrived and then you take it home in this weather and put this cover on it right away what will happen is the paint is not cured it hasn't had a chance to breathe. you will get stains or all kinds of stains inside the clear coat because look at that thing that seals that car i mean if your car is not at least 60 days old from production don't do this at home now i have talked to several people who bought New Corvettes you know this time of year it gets a little cooler and they've done this to their Corvette and what happens a week or two you want to go to the garage you just want to take it off and check on their baby to see how what you're doing is horrible it's a disgusting sight and you're talking about a major major issue to rectify that issue so this happens more on darker colored cars like your long beach red your blacks your dark grays so Keep that in mind and I don't care if you're in a warmer climate or not, I'd just advise not doing that until your cars are at least 60 days old before you actually seal them. ok you get your new Corvette whether you're in a cold or warm climate you want to protect it but you don't want to seal it like that not if the paint is fresh within 60 days so what do you do?

I recommend getting a really soft fabric and laying it over the top of the car that way it protects it from any rain and dust and things of that nature until you give it more than 60 days and the colors you really have to be concerned with. I would do it. do it with all the colors but the ones you really need to worry about are the darker colored cars like long beach red black the dark gray then when you get over 60 days then you can really start protecting it for the times when this. I don't drive it but really what are you doing to get that cover off and put it on the road but I understand if you have to here are some

tips

I think will definitely get you going.

I know that's not how it came about. but you know what, at least I got it back in the bag and when you put it back in the car it will be easier because you roll that soft side down and just flip it over so it's a little easier to install. Here is another tip. What can you do if you are in this climate and need to store your Corvette? It's okay, if you have to store your Corvette or it will sit idle for more than three weeks. You need to make sure you have one of these that are in this box. is it the 100 dollar battery protection option is it a portable trickle charge if you do it now what a lot of people don't realize on the passenger side of the back hatch is this port this port stays hot all the time with cars turned off so you can use your battery protection pack so inside the box you have this little carry bag and here is the actual unit.

This is the part that I will show you here. you can actually go through the back of the corvette and then this part here will plug into just a basic 110 outlet this light if it indicates here on the thing when you plug it in you have the post reversed on your battery this lets you know you're on the charging process this light if it's on lets you know it's fully charged and once it's fully charged you can leave it plugged in it's ok take it home and it's ready to go and this is just an indicator letting you know the system is powered up and ready to go.

This part here just plugs into this passenger area that I showed you here. car cover or not and let me tell you this first if your car is sitting still for a long period of time and you get in and all the sentences check this and check that and check this on lights and bells and whistles to see if the wire is disconnected runs like a nut you take it to the dealer and they say well sorry man we got a tear on your part of the dash you see we gonna do this again oh no no don't let them touch anything until you check the battery that's why I say this little system here is so crucial and the best investment to protect all the electronics in your Corvette because when the battery gets a little low it's not sending enough power to all those different modules and it can send all those false codes on the dash to turn you crazy. which is ok you can use this even if the car cover is on the car which i would and i dont know if i have a big enough one but make sure you get some kind of microfiber cloth or a big towel very soft soft towel like this lay it on top of the car and what people don't realize is that you can actually close the hatch with the battery protection pack already plugged into the car and then you take the thickest part of the wire, plug it into a regular outlet just a 110 in the house and then you're good to go and leave your Corvette behind yeah it almost fell over almost like you guys got a nice backdrop for you guys hey hope you enjoyed charging today thank you so much for taking the time to watch and join us hope you have a great rest of your weekend thumbs up this video subscribe to the channel if you haven't already and remember to hit that notification bell so you don't miss out on some of those new ones loads that I was talking about at the beginning of this video and make it common.
