DJI RONIN SC How to Balance the Canon EOS R & EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM

May 05, 2020
Hello everyone, I hope your ticket is correct. I'm in the middle of editing right now and this came up frequently. I have placed all one. It is a small rig adapter for the road SC. I consider that it has weights of account. It will actually help us

balance

the CEOs. I'm not feeling good at all right now, but it also helped the aerial SRP and these larger lenses, while the hope is that it will actually do it. Look for the EOS on the highway in South Carolina and get lost. our eyepiece at the end anyway so if you're interesting make sure you subscribe because I'll do a little video on it as soon as it arrives and I'll also do the rebalancing if it works too so you can get all those measurements haven't helped me yeah , and by the way, avocados are dangerous little beasts today.

I had a question about balancing big lenses on the road and SC, you know it's an amazing piece of kit that running there you see the gimbal. but it has some limitations, some people want to know if we can

balance

big lenses or not, or actually I asked us for some ideas on that, so I have some tips to go over later. I know, maybe show you things like the 24-105 or those are really amazing Canon EF l 16 to 35 lenses, yeah, and I'll do that on the Ronin SC, the Canon EOS R and also the

canon

eos RP, obviously, if you have I have Sony and stuff like that, these tips probably helped you too, so check it out in a second.

Well, first of all what you would do is try 16 to 35. We have a pretty long one, as you can see. The closest ones are here at Right now because EOI is there, but I'll try to bounce off both and hope that gives you some pointers when you want to try to balance yours. What I also do is give you the measurements that I can always do when I finally got the balance because anyway that will save you some time before you get to that, yeah, and yeah, that little dachshund fee, you know, originally was the first dog used for low hunting and was for badges and if you translate - and in german it comes out as a badger dog look in a second let's move on so this is the

canon

the eos have the traditional lovely little 16 lens at 35, yeah, okay, the typical vlogging type lens and a lot of people.

I think this cannot be balanced at this time. I have the clear filter there with the adapter, but it will also allow you to have the variable nd filters and again, if you are interested in these, as an annex below on the right. This is very important to make sure you do it in this order, so you need to get the riser plate and put the screw in the middle, okay, yeah, and put it on the base, okay, off the chamber and screw what do. The whole thing when I'm actually doing the setup for you is I'm not going to show you how to balance it front to back and everything else, I'm going to speed it up a little bit so it looks nice and easy for you and like we've all done it. the rest of them should give you measurements which will save you a lot of time so make sure it fits nice and square I just need a little adjustment and then we'll be fine this is the next important part okay so let's put the camera on new here a minute great, so with the kit itself it's fine with the old adjuster in there, what you want to do is make sure that you have the lens holder in there, that one that's really nice, loose and in place. and this screw here, okay, they show you how to put both of them in here, but what you have to do is just put one screw in, okay, and attach it to the front screw mechanism, so that's the one that actually closes. the lens is fine, let me tighten it and slide it all the way forward until it actually touches the back of the plate and then before you tighten it all the way put the old lens holder on there, and then make sure it obviously doesn't is touching the front piece then come back make it nice and tight and tightening good there we go that's done and it's good and it's got support there so as you can see it's there it's probably about 5.5 maybe 5.2 if you're going to the edge plate, okay then.

The next stage is obviously balancing it on the fly, so I should have it set up and shown to you in a second. While I've been playing around with the settings, I actually struggled with another tip, so let me share it with you. It's a lot easier to balance anything that works without a big, lumpy camera, especially a lens like that. Okay, it's a lot easier to do than trying to do it with the camera on, so now this is all set up. I have all the measurements. What I'm going to do is show you the measurements for this to bounce and then I'm going to show you that it's balanced on the NCHC and it works completely if it works, so bear with me there, I hope you can see. this here okay so this motherboard one here balloons it actually said 2.14 okay so that's two point one take note of that so you have the side plate okay, which is here so hopefully again you can see yeah, right there, okay now that one is ready at 1.8, that's a point eight, it's set, then you get this one here, you want to bounce it from side to side, that one is currently set at a point two, now we won't need to move all those settings, let's turn on the camera and then you'll see what I mean, okay, so I hope you can see the measurements down there, if not, when the 16 to 35 is at its maximum, 35 thousand, okay, I set it to 1.3, that's 1 ,3 there, okay, when it's at 16 thousand, as you'll see. it's going to swing back, that's all we have to do, click lightly and say it's a 1.5 okay and hopefully this will work right into the camera, there it'll be perfectly balanced and that's your set at a point five, so those are the measurements again. everything should be in the description, that's fine and as always, yes, as long as you've done this, what you want to do every time, yes, it's connected to the Ronin app.
Okay, change the old camera to the gimbal, let me. go to Bing, yeah, and here, make sure she's okay, press the automatic Ching once you plug it back in, she beats it, yeah, pick it up for the previous roll there, she's immediately press that one and let it do its job to put all the motors at the right speed wobble a little bit here and there and it's as fast as doing this so take note of the measurements and I'll look at it in a second so there you go you can balance someone out there a little bit.
A little touch up and obviously all the measurements justify these, so if you are using a similar kit or the same care you will be able to make a note of them, they will all be in the description below as well, but take note. of them like we did with one of my previous tips or in one of the other videos about just gluing them to the back of a book. Yes, I'll actually put your phone more, but like with other videos I've done, there are also the problems related to the telephoto lens, so if they are like this, which is the kit, double the 24 to 105, which is a Really good lens, but if you try to extend it and go through the different ranges, it won't really balance.
Don't do that no matter what you do, unless of course you rebalance it every time you do it and then what's the point of that? However, the other side is things where you have the telephoto lens locked inside you, they tend to escape. with that, with these really expensive EF L lenses, it's great, anyway, you know what I mean, these have cost a little more money because they don't extend, when in reality they do, and you do this, they stay at the same height, okay? You'll find that you'll probably notice with the gimbal, but we have to remember with the internal mechanisms here as you're doing it that obviously the weight is distributed differently over there, but like I said when I did it with this with the 16 to 35, they actually seemed work very, very well on the road in SC anyway, if you like this one, hopefully you gave us the thumbs up, make sure to hit subscribe so you don't miss that master once and if you have any questions, if you want it try something or try to find the answer, don't forget to leave it in a comment with the hashtag WW, greetings and that's it.
