DIY Tier Craft Storage

Feb 27, 2020
Hello, welcome back to calling on the Clutter Fairy, where I hope you have clutter so you can live stress free this weekend. I was looking for some fun DIY projects that would also help you get organized and came across a really fun idea that I thought of. Maybe I can help some of you before I dive into this. I thought a lot about something I have trouble with and use often, but haven't had a good way to organize myself and the item I found was a ladder yarn. organizer and I've seen a lot of these, but this one had an interesting twist: it used Lazy Susans from the Dollar Tree.

I went to four different Dollar Trees and couldn't find any Lazy Susans. I couldn't find them on their website either. The ones I found at Walmart and Target were about eight dollars each so I thought I'd forget about it so I ended up using the burner covers they sell at Dollar Tree. They come in a set, one larger and one smaller, so I bought two sets. of those and then I also went to Home Depot and bought this one is a rotating Lazy Susan, that's what it's called, and it was three dollars and 98 cents, it's very strong and it also had rubber feet on the bottom, so I think I actually liked it. she came out of the head, but I really like how it turned out, so I'll show you what I did, how I did it.

I'd love to see their creative spin on what they do with this, but without further ado, here we go strong. So I'm going to start with the base real quick just to show you what I do, so I'm going to take the burner cap and make sure to use the flat surface first and stick it on with hot glue and six mil. the flat side, not the side with the feet, and I'm going to put this directly in the middle. In fact, I'm using this one because I like it better. I'm going to use the circle that's already in this design to help me.

Centering it just for this one, making sure it's centered on the first 10, is essential for stability so I'm going to go ahead and place my 6000 and then I'll put on some hot glue and I have to confess that I already learned this little trick from other people . It really makes a big difference. The glue gun allows you to instantly lock into place to make sure your placement is right where you want it, but then the e6000 is what really gives you your best contact for stability. so if you haven't been doing that, try the combo, it really works very well.

My kids always say the smell of hot glue reminds them of Halloween and Christmas, so I have mine on and I'll make sure. I have it as centered as possible by reaching underneath and pressing down, nice, so when I turn it upside down what you have is just a little tray and if I was doing something farmhouse style I could put something in the middle and then make another little one and it would have a nice rotating tray, but I'm making this for a

hack, so for this, what I plan to put inside, I would like a larger work area, so I'll take the second cover. in the game, the largest and I'm going to place it on top.
Now the reason I do this is it needs room to turn, so by having one face down and the other wedged on top, it's now a level surface. and my spinner, my orientation will be clear, so no matter where I place it, it will spin. The other reason I wanted to do something like this and attach it is so I can pick up my entire organizer once I'm done building it and I can put it back in and let it spin again, so again this is where you have to be very diligent and make sure make sure it's completely centered because if it's not, if it's really off center when you turn, it's going to be a caddywhompus and you're going to hate me, so make sure it's centered.
I'm going to do the e6000 again and I'm going to put some of the glue gun in there, yeah, okay, now that I have my little Lazy Susan state built, I'm going to start putting these containers up. I got them in the lidded organizer in the beauty section. Now I always suggest that you sort things out, like them and like them and then establish what you need. This is definitely a manual where I would recommend that you know what you want to order first. In this case I was trying to find a better organizer because my oldest son has been painting a lot lately and it turns out this fits well but it fits inside one section so that's what I planned to do with this so check it out. of how much I could fit in oh I'm so excited about this so each of these little containers holds 12 of these little acrylic bottles and these are the ones that you can always find at Walmart, Target and Hobby Lobby.
They usually cost about 50 cents each so this is the most common acrylic paint we have in our home but I have 5 small trays and that's what my

tier

ed organizer will be used for but again I really suggest you decide which

craft

. Supply you have a large quantity and then purchase a box or organizer that fits that particular item. Next thing I recommend and I found this idea initially on YouTube, but I really liked it so I'm going to look it up and put the link. below so you can see the original tutorial, but they recommended filling your containers first so that as you find the location of your Lazy Susan you know how it weighs and how it will feel on its own, so if you have something very heavy like Ya you can see that it's not going to be balanced or stable in this case.
I know mine are pretty full so it should be fine, but I'm still going to put them in there quickly in red and then green. They are color coded of course and then the green turns big and then the blue turns purple when my mess fairies work with me on a job, they always laugh because I talk to myself and listen. I talked to my dog. I spoke to the air, please. Leave me a comment below if you talk to yourself. I have whole conversations while I'm crafting, it's kind of funny, once you get the first one, what I thought was that when I glued the little corner next to it on top, it immediately started to come together.
It's a lot easier to take on because I had something to hold on to, so I'm just going to strengthen these little corners a little bit and this part will be done and now I have a nice, accessible place for the paints. Again, I know I keep saying this, but I chose to do this with the paints, you can do absolutely whatever you want and then on top, I could go with a little lid on top and I want this upside down. I want it so that this does not show. Doing it the way it was created would inhibit everything that's here backwards number one.
I don't have to paint it now and it also gives me scope for smaller things. That could be here, paste this on top since I don't know where to put it here. I'm just going to put my stains here, but you could go to the big tray for more

storage

or you can do the small one, I think. I like the big tray. You'll definitely want to put 6000 on something at the top. These are quite thin. I think in this case something inside of it maybe cut a little piece of foam core just to give it a little bit of stability, but the nice thing about this is that even though it's a little heavy because I have paint on it, we can pick it up and move it wherever We want and we will leave it on the floor, it is a functional Lazy Susan with total accessibility for everyone. of our supplies, guys, I seriously love this.
I think it turned out very well. I am very excited to use it and see how it works in my small craft area. I'm trying. It's heavy. I'm trying to see them there. Come on, it rolls really smooth and these are temporary cups because I really want to find something that fits, but I used what I had on hand and in this case it was just little Dixie cups, but this gives me the open area. on the sides for our brushes for our little dabbers that we use because sometimes we use swabs and beauty brushes, but there's a lot of space here on the top we always have a plate to clean our brushes and we have our little palette and then who doesn't want to be close when you're painting so I love your take on this but like I said before I'd love to see what you do with this because you're the most creative bunch and I'd love to see if you use this for your washi tape for your glitter your stamps the size of the container will actually match your specific supplies so get creative send me a photo of what you make at call clutter fairy on gmail.com please be sure to comment with what you made, did you like this video if you are subscribed, thanks for coming back.
