offset ok so save the name or you can write it here someone didn't ask me why i use font lab instead just mention it here there is a bug in my system no my fonts don't transfer to inkscape so i always have to save my names and then i'm going to import and i'm going to import chloe where's chloe there she is so here's her name make sure you hit the lock button so we can open this really big and now um i did what what i did was no i liked how the c came out here a little bit as well as the l so what i did was i objected and ungrouped it and then manually moved the c a little bit more oops no it didn't no sorry let me just grab the c and you'll see that I got rid of that little thing right there and then I think I got rid of this too, okay, and I felt like the name was going up too high like it started with the h going down. here moved a little higher with the l a little higher with the o a little higher with the e so i wanted to balance this out a little i moved the e back down a little bit and moved the o i think i moved a little more and then the l just a little bit because I didn't want the tail of the l to stick out and then I'm going to move this e down a little bit more and a little bit more there we go so now I'm just going to group it again so go to object and group so it's a thing so this is selected move your cursor to the white
spaceclick here so nothing is highlighted go to your paint bucket pick a color any color because we're going to fix it in
spaceand we're going to grow shoot i don't remember what i grew up with i think i did i think i did 20 and 40. so let's do 20. so now take your paint bucket and just click somewhere in the name i love when it does that and then do all four ok click on your arrow click on the open space again to have nothing selected go to the paint bucket pick another color and this time grow by 40. and then over and over and then um i think you need there dont worry about that little space um go oops no sorry get your arrow , take everything click the path object to the path file and save as sorry i clicked the wrong file save as and then i already saved it saved as chloe offset so in space layout once you do that go upload upload image browse look up your name so it would have been um it would have been on my desktop and it was chloe offset right you click on that then insert it i already have mine so i'm going to upload e insert so insert an image and i'll show you how to fix the name when it comes up so i'll move it a little bit here ok let's ungroup so here's our background i'll move it so we can see it here's this one a range sent to the front so you can see it send that to the front and then the chloe part solders it on because you can see it's individual letters that you want to solder on so it's such a cute piece right?
And then here's our four a range sent to the front and then what I do is because we don't know what the size is going to be I take a chloe line and I'm going to center it and then I'm going to group it so it moves as one single piece same with the floor and I take it align the center and then group it together and now all we're doing is putting our
toppertogether so let me go back up here so here's our
topperI'm going gonna make this a little bit smaller so that everything is nice on the screen so let's grab this let's make this a little bit bigger okay so don't worry about the colors we'll deal with the colors in a second I usually like my name at the bottom, um, let's see the
mermaidtail, um, I'm going to ungroup it.

I don't need this. I wanted the tail to be inside my
shaker. Oops, undo. Let's bunch the tail so it moves nicely. It seems that the tail is. Maybe I'll make it a little bigger so the tail is inside the sequins it's going to be it's going to be with the sequins um okay this little one make sure you do the white around it ok ow but the other thing is my printer it doesn't print well on cardstock so when i print and cut it prints on regular copy paper so i like to cut the outline of this on cardstock and then tape it down so it's really sturdy ok so how do i do it you do?
I'm going to bring a square, so you're going to have to do this with this little one and this little one, okay, unlock it, just make it so that it covers the whole
mermaid, okay, take the two items. uh it didn't let me split this time that's weird so this is flattened oh that's so weird it let me do it earlier when I was creating this so let me see if I'll try again grab the two elements I I should be able to flatten I don't know I mean don't flatten the slice okay let's see if I can do it with this guy and he's so temperamental let's make sure the seahorse is covered and see if I can do with this one is ok so i can cut this one so just waste your time but look at how it's basically how it's going to be cut but with cards. tock I'm more comfortable with that but if you had done the bubble white it would just give you a more curved edge right there so this one you're going to do you're going to change from um I like to do my background blank so this is just going to cut blank we don't need this and there's our guy okay this is going to be um let's bring that to the front arrange center front and again with the background that you want it to be. the same size, do you want it to fit perfectly?
So go ahead and align the center and group it and that way everything will be the proper size okay so I'll do it based on this image here okay so the seahorse is here it's appropriate in size of this girl had it up here and she's the right size this guy I'm probably going to make it a little bigger had it here and then let's deal with this so this was a complete set just ungroup it now this is layered it has a back layer and yellow and then the top right so group that so that clear we can size it all right so this was right here um we want this shell as well let's group it now I'm going to see how to flip this. and make all four a little bigger ok i had two shells on mine because i didn't like the color i was printing or cutting the first time so i made another two then i incorporated both and mixed them. merge them together and then I incorporated both so here are my four it's on my
sliderwe just need to see the lead left so I duplicated this one and then went to flip and flip horizontal so you have the mirror image so I had one here one here and I'll probably make it a little bigger okay and then this guy I made it bigger and two let's do both at the same time so let's center align and group it and then make it big okay and then I'm just going to bring the name to the front there so once you like the size or If everything uh you know yourself like everything accordingly let's get rid of these then you can just grab everything and say oh wow, this is 11.5 inches too big i normally make two inches smaller than my cake size so if it's a nine inch cake i make this seven inches so then you can grab it all let's say you make it about seven inches right it doesn't have what to be perfect now i'm going to show you how to solder that back player to the name ok so with the name the offset is on the back ok first let's duplicate the name wow wait let's get that out of the way ok then we know which is like over here, we're going to take this and we're going to grab the mat. i grab the mat it's not right let's grab the mat take the offset and weld it so now you have a really nice background that's going to hold everything i would just put it back and send it to the background so there's your name , this goes on top and let's make this bigger so you can see what we have there now.
When you change the color, this is how I would do it. Oops, these little ones didn't come. I'd grab them from here so let's say this one even though it's grouped you can't select the individual elements so the top layer of the starfish I made it as an orange glow so I'm going to change it to orange this guy I ended up making it blue so things start to change color huh the mermaid tail so I made the top layer a pink glitter and the back layer I did light blue and then the back layer I did dark blue and this is how it looks see my tail so one by one you're going to go and change all the colors to whatever you want so that when you go to do it you obviously have a lot of colors but not too many so the inside of this shell can match the inside of the starfish or something else so you're not using as many colors but still.
I'm seeing a lot so I'm going to make this bigger again so you can see what I have and all the differences. t layers and where's my four so here's my four here's my extra tail that I messed up because I didn't like the color after all so you can see all my mistakes I try to incorporate it and just make it really full and really pretty with all the details because it's already cut out, I can't do anything there, but once you do one, I have my color template, I have my cardstock, the papers I want to use and that makes it cut down on mistakes and experimentation. that was helpful follow me on instagram or facebook then you can see better pics um it's the
