Feb 27, 2020
Hello friends, welcome back to my channel, this is Jasmine and this is jazzy, and today we are going to do something that I have wanted to do for a long time because every time I go to home goods, TJ Maxx Marshalls Hobby. They have a

mirror

in the lobby that I love. It has some diamonds around it. I'm sure you've all seen it and it would look beautiful in my

beauty

corner. So what did I decide to do? We will do it with DIY. make ours because in these wonderful stores it costs $200 $200 I don't want to spend $200 you don't want to spend $200 so today we're going to spend some dollars in the morning forty dollars two hundred dollars forty dollars two hundred dollars forty dollars I'll say forty dollars for one, Alex, Thank you, so let's gather all our materials.

I got most of my materials on Amazon, that's where I found them cheapest and I'll put all the links below on what exactly. that I bought, so let's do it, let's get started, okay guys, let's talk about the things that you will need for this project, of course you will need a

mirror

. You can choose any mirror that works for you. I chose this one from Walmart. because I love iridescent and I thought it would look perfect with the project and that kind of

glam

orous feel we were going for. I also bought these acrylic gemstones from Amazon, they came with 480 in a package.

I thought that was it. Perfect, I couldn't pass up that deal. I also purchased these adhesive gemstones right here at Walmart. I chose them because the two iridescent ones would match the mirror perfectly and I bought four packs of them. I bought this diamond tape, some glue sticks, an e6000 adhesive from Of course, you'll need a glue gun and I have duct tape. I bought six foam cards. I spray painted two of them silver because that's what I wanted to be on the top layer of my mirror and you'll see what I do. I'm talking about what I almost forgot to mention that you will need an Exacta knife to cut the cardstock and you will also need a ruler.

I bought this criterion from Home Depot. I've had it for a while. Now you can. go pick it up at Lowe's or Home Depot, they usually cost around 50 cents and sometimes they even give them away so don't forget to get your Exacta knife or your box cutter will probably work too and a measuring stick first thing you find. What you're going to do is put your two boards together and just tape them together on the longer stretches, that's pretty self explanatory, so that's what I'm doing here, just tape my two boards together, okay? ? Now At this point, our two cards are taped together, so now we're going to take some e6000 glue and spread it all over this card.

You want to make sure that you cover it all over because ultimately this is the board that the mirror is going to be glued to, so you want to make sure that you have a really strong bond with the other boards. I wanted to make sure my boards were glued together well, so I decided to go ahead and add some heat. stick it and put it on the board everywhere too just to be safer. You can never be too sure. Now just turn the board over and line it up so it evenly matches your other two signs and you'll just want to apply a little bit of pressure to make sure this sits nice and secure here we're repeating the same steps we did for the previous board and just we're putting glue everywhere again, more hot glue and you're going to do the same things and apply pressure on this point right here, the silver cardstock that I have is not glued.
I just put the mirror on top to measure exactly where I need to cut, so pretty much all I did was measure the

length

and width of the mirror and the

length

and width of the cardstock and divided it in half or so so I knew exactly where was the center and knowing exactly where I needed to cut so that's what I'm doing here is just measuring and centering it perfectly now that it's perfectly centered all I'm doing is taking my pin and I'm just tracing the outline of the mirror so that from that way I have perfect guidelines for where I need to cut.
I can move my mirror that way I can see exactly where I need to cut so here you can see the lines that I drew here here here at this point you want to put your sticks or ruler whatever you have and line it up with that line that you made and you used that exact knife, box cutter or whatever type of sharp object you have and you cut along that line, the exact length is actually very very sharp and it worked perfectly except for the fact that it started cutting into my criteria so eventually I just move the yardstick and I just cut down along the line yeah so this is the part where I actually just said screw it and I didn't use the yardstick or the ruler anymore and I just I used it hands free and it worked out pretty well.
Obviously I can. draw a straight line. I'm determined this won't come apart, so I'm just going to wrap the tape around. Now you're going to take those two pieces that you cut and we're going to line them up, make sure they're lined up. perfectly and also that our mirror fits perfectly into that space, you want to make sure that it's like a frame around your mirror, it's just going to sit in it and fit really well. Now we're going to remove those cutouts and we're going to use them on all sides, first we're going to use that e6000 bonding glue followed by some hot glue to make sure it's super secure, you know what I want to do is secure this frame okay guys , now the fun begins. use that diamond tape and we're going to destroy our mirror frame with this all over it.
I mean, you can put it wherever you want. I wrapped the entire frame myself with this ribbon and secured it with some hot glue that I just put on. around the edges and a little bit in the middle, okay, here's a better angle so you can see exactly what I'm doing, all I'm doing is just adding more hot glue and securing our diamond ribbon to that and once you get to the edge, I just wrap it around the back and you can secure that piece with more hot glue, so you'll do this same process for the rest of our frame if you want to put the diamond edge on everything.
The way to go around it is what our mirror looks like after placing the diamond ribbon around it. I think it looks pretty good. I think it would look pretty good if it were like that, but no, we have to be one-upmanship and put them individually. These little acrylic rhinestone beads all over the place, so let's start with that, finally we get to the fun part, so what we're going to do is make a pattern and we're going to place one of those acrylic gems. with one of those sticky gemstones, yes they are called sticky gemstones, but they don't stick to our tape, so we have to hot glue them on too, but don't worry, I'm here so you can do some trial and error on this one process.
What I'm doing is not how I made the whole mirror. If I had done it this way, this would have taken me a whole week, but luckily I'm here to make all the mistakes for you and show you exactly how. you should do this it was my first attempt at trying to do this a little faster it was ok but it improves I promise you it improves the way the space, although it's each of the little rhinestones the ribbon is actually a room so I spaced them every three rows, put a flat adhesive gemstone and then put the acrylic gemstone between two thousand years later, well, not exactly two thousand years later, but now that I'm starting to understand this.
What I can really tell you is how to do this faster than how I did it previously if you place each dot of blue facing down because you don't want it to be any hotter when you apply each gemstone that you want us to be. a little sticky, so place ten dots of hot glue, then blow a little and then you can start placing the gemstones. It goes much faster, as you can see, and you will repeat this process in every way. your mirror for as many rows as you want. I did about four rows on each side and seven rows on the top and six rows on the bottom.
I pretty much used every gemstone I had. I didn't want to waste them. I paid for them so I said I was going to use them and I really liked the way they turned out in the end. Here is another example of how I placed each gemstone again. You're just going to put a dot of glue under each alternating gemstone and then you're going to let it dry for a few seconds so that again it's not hotter when it first comes out because it's moving around too much and you wanted it to be tacky and then you're just going to place your gemstones on top. those bright spots, okay folks, we're in the home stretch finishing this last row and then you can enjoy your new mirror of

beauty

and shine and here's all that hard work finally paying off.
You guys did an amazing job, great job.
