Feb 27, 2020
Hi everyone, I'm Shannon, welcome back to my channel. If you're new, hit the subscribe button because you'll find new DIY tutorials and new inspiration here every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I have some really cute new things in the Easter section of Dollar Tree. so we're going to start off the spring

decor

ating season with three farmhouse style Easter garlands so let's go ahead and get off to a good start so let's start with the plastic egg garland first. I have two sets of

dollar

tree

speckled eggs and their white eggs. thread and then I have a needle big enough that I can pass the thread through the eye of the needle.

Then I have a variety of wooden beads. I'll put them in my favorite Amazon store. I have used them for several different

projects

. so it's always good to have them on hand. I love them. I love that they come in different sizes. We're going to use a couple sizes for this project and then I also have a wood burning tool with a pointed tip on the end. I will also put these in my favorite Amazon store, they are really inexpensive and another tool to have on hand, they are very useful and here is another tip: I always suggest throwing it in a coffee cup because it will not burn the cup and it is much safer than the little little metal stand that the burner comes with, but the first thing I want to do is unpack my eggs and then I'm going to use my wood burning tool to make a hole on both sides of the egg and I'll show you how to do that just a second, very well unfortunately it's unwrapped and I just noticed that they already have a hole in the bottom of the egg so we just need to add a hole to the top or tip of the egg and that's where our wood burning tool will come in handy .

More Interesting Facts About,

I'm going to be very careful with this, but it's actually very simple, just press the tip of the wood burning tool into the egg and you'll get a super quick and easy another hole through the plastic, so let me show you that again with another egg. You just press the tip of the wood burning tool through the tip of the egg and then you have a hole big enough for our needle to go through. I'm going to go ahead and do that with the rest of the eggs and now I'm just going to string some wooden beads and create a pattern using my Easter eggs and you can use different sized eggs, you can use them anyway. paint your beads and get really creative with them.

You could even paint your eggs if you wanted certain colored eggs and speckle them yourself, but I'm going to go ahead and use what I have here and make something really simple and something really springy for Easter is okay, so here it is. I made a smaller bead, a larger bead, and a smaller bead in between each Easter egg and I didn't use them all. I used more lighter pastel colors, but it's all finished now so I can hang it. and show you what it looks like and now for the Easter Bunny garland, some things from Dollar Tree include these paper lunch bags.

I just did a tutorial on five different ways you can use them to

ate, so I'll link to that video in the description box and I'll check it out. I also have Mod Podge, this is the glossy one, but I really prefer the matte one, but that's all my Dollar Tree had, so you notice I also have these super cute wooden Easter bunnies. I love these scissors. a Sharpie marker and some leftover fabric. This is like that black and white plaid pattern, but you can use whatever fabric works for you and matches your Easter rig or something.
The first thing I do is make my little hip-hop banner pieces, so I need two of these paper lunch bags and what we're going to do to start is cut them out on this line. I went over this in the tutorial I mentioned before, but we're going to use this one for more than one spring banner and then I just cut them both out so they don't have the bottom of the bag and then the top of the bags has these little holes so I'm just going to cut That part we're also going to fold it in half so that our long folded edges have to have a long rectangle and then we're going to cut the fold to the point and when I cut this triangle from the bottom like this and that we will give some of our banner pieces, but we still need to cut them out, so I'll open them up and we'll cut out the banner part and we'll cut out this section.
We don't want this section, we're going to end up with two banner pieces per bag. Now we need to drill holes in the corners of our banner pieces. I'm just stacking them together that way, all the holes will be in the same one. place and you just grab a hole punch that's also from the Dollar Tree, we're going to punch all the bags in the corners that way we have a space to put our rope through and now I'm just going to write hip hop hip get on my suitcases but you can write what you you want in yours.
I was thinking more of the Raiden style, so it doesn't have to be super perfect. Farmhouse style isn't a perfect thing, so there's my hip. I'm going to do a jump. and then hip hop again and now it's time to work on the bunnies, the Dollar Tree package comes with five and I need five so it's perfect. I'm going to modify the fabric on them, so what I have to do is I'm going to put my Podge on the bunny. I'm going to lay the fabric on top and then put more Mod Podge on the fabric to seal the fabric onto the bunny.
I'm going to let it dry completely and then use it. either scissors or a razor blade to cut around the bunny and that way all the bunnies will have this cute buffalo check pattern on top of them, okay here are all my bunnies all cut out. I also have the pieces of my banner laid out and the bunnies. They have little holes in one of their ears so I have my thread and my needle out here so I can put it through there and then also put it through the back of their ear that way it will go through the fabric easily and now Let's do a really neutral farmhouse style Easter egg banner, so I have two pieces of wooden Easter eggs from Dollar Tree, as well as some of their burlap.
This is like an extra I've had, so I might as well use it. I always save all those remains. I want to give my Easter egg a speckled look, so I have my white chalk paint and some black chalk paint. This is jute from Dollar Tree. I have a foam brush, my needle again and some scissors. So I want to give my Easter egg a speckled look. The eggs, like I said, have a speckled look, so the first thing I need to do is paint them all white now. If you want to color yours, you absolutely can.
I want mine to be more neutral, so I'll paint mine in one coat. or two coats of white chalk paint, depending on how much you want your pattern to show up, I actually like it when it peeks through the paint instead of being completely solid and then I'll use the gray. chalk paint to touch a little paint like this, that way it will splatter the paint onto the eggs and they will look speckled which is the look I am going for and then once they are dry I will place them on my jute and tie some knots of burlap between each egg, so the Chuck paint is really very thick and I want to thin it out a little bit with water so it splatters easily, so I have a little bit of water on a plate and I'm going to add a little bit of chalk paint to it so that the paint will splatter and then we'll just hit our finger with the brush to splatter and stain our eggs, so I didn't want to skewer them like that because then the eggs would hang crooked instead of straight, so I'm adding them one at a time, just cutting off a piece of jute, I folded the bean in half so that it formed a small bow on one. end and then I put the loop through the hole in the egg and then I took the tails and put them through the loop on the other side of the egg and held it tight and then each individual egg I'm going to tie the string that actually goes to hang and then I will add the burlap strips to the string that all the eggs will hang from.
