We are all fine? We made it brother, we have a lot to do today. We have to be on the boat with all our equipment in place. departure at 1:00 p.m. so we have a lot to do at the first stop in West Marine, we need to collect about 80 pounds of squid and many others. We have four days on the ship. We each brought a nice heavy spinning rod, Kassem poppers throwing butterfly jigs, whatever, then we brought a conventional rod, which I brought a magnetic rod with 25 cursive to speed up something I can drop at 500 feet or you name it, and we also brought an electric grill because we might be

at 1200 feet, you never know, so we had a little bit of everything for four days on that boat. It's a really cool place. The man makes me think of my good friend Captain Ralph Delft, God rest his soul, he was an innovator here.

The whole Delft family and I wanted to come here and fish on this trip since I was about 10 years old, back in 1986, my father came here with all his friends from Bergen to eat pasta with which my father won the pool. He was a 57-pound black grouper and from then until now he always wanted to come do this. Now I'm here with my team Austin Jordan and I have my brother Paul Big Ben with us, but I still think you like it, it's going to be a I had a great time and I'm happy you're with us, let's get ready, good job man, hey that's pretty awesome 30 years of truth and he finally catches a fish wait tell him this story real quick show him the truth so when I was in high school we got stuck in a 4 outlet Myatt our printer was a shark or something and someone just one of us had a job so after we got stuck he went to Kmart and bought this not 10, 30 years ago and as far as I can tell knowledge that's the only one that It's there, oh, that's so amazing to me.

around midnight. the guys will be sleeping I'll be fishing @midnight @midnight I'm fishing Hey Greg okay guys so we ran about a hundred and sixty

miles

up here in the Gulf of Mexico we stopped at our first spot this is what I'm wearing as bait.
I have a ballyhoo. I split it in half, split the tail and use the circle hook to the bottom of the chin and up. We're in about two hundred and fifty feet of water and I. I'm using about a ten foot leader right now, let me show you how I got this thing to figure it out, there you go, so leave your leader on a little sliding platform down here for a snap or for a ball bearing swivel and then to about twelve feet away, ten twelve feet away, you've got your bait and then I'm using my same trusty rod that I always use just Talon 225 custom rod to speed up a big reel because it's super fast, but it also has a ton of power. start.
See, we just stopped like the big bloodhound fish right there. Great, as soon as the boats stopped, we have all the lights on. Now, fish, you're going to start going around the boat. The good thing about this, Paulie, what's up? We absolutely have three full days of fishing, the first day was basically getting to the boat, getting situated, oh I just hit bottom, you feel that hit, now I'm going to gently lay it down as the boat moves away. You'll tap the LED a little and let it sit. You'll hit it, you'll let it sit and all you're trying to do is just try to get that little bait to flutter along the bottom.
That's him, he's cute, literally, guys, that's him. why you're a good fish here that's why you make the run that's why you come fishing that's why you do this so when the boat stops so this is what I think I'm going to do using a fifty pound leader with a small circle hook 5 watts so I don't want to push it too hard so it's very important not to like the high stick and try to do too much, let the fish fight itself down there, keep the pressure on and get a crank when you can so I love this. italica super fast once he gets his head in it, bring him to the hill, come on son Paulie Thigpen, yeah, what do you think bro, if you got anything?
If not, this is a big dream, what a thing is acting like a mountain, ha. I say that like I've ever done this here before, I guess it's not a mutton snapper, if it's a mutton it fights very differently than the fish at home, now it's got its head coming towards me, let's fight like a mutton now. slide mom once you break his spirit and make him come to the hill you have to go ahead and bring him. I see color down there. It's the biggest one I've ever seen in my life. It's a gigantic growl.
It's a kind of Margate. Wow, look at this. Look, that circle hook caught him right in the corner of his jaw, there you go and he should have brought some grits. Oh, we make grits and grunts in the mornings. I'll throw it on the ice. Let's find out how. well he is
